This was my birthday family celebration and because there was 10 of us our usual Toby Carvery couldn't fit us in at a family friendly time. I googled and found the Vikings Landing and to be honest I didn't know what to expect, I booked online which was straight forward and the clan arrived at the planned time.
Phil the manager met us at the door, he was so friendly and showed us to an amazingly large table so we could all sit together. Esther was setting up the table and she was delightful, chatting and smiling , we felt at home instantly.
The kids enjoyed playing outside, it was great!
The bar staff explained how to book and we selected our carvery dinners. The food was excellent ! The waiter and waitress (can't remember their names) were also so friendly and helpful too. Bringing out my cake singing happy birthday! The whole experience made it one of the best birthdays I have enjoyed in a long time.
On leaving I noticed they had a doggy friendly area too, we have a puppy and that was great to see.
We will definitely be back and we have already recommended Vikings Landing to family and friends and they have been since and had an equally lovely experience!
Well done to the manager and all the staff! ❤️
A lot of pumps for hand pull, but very few were live, labels saying beer is settling!
We never ate but the food coming past looked ok.
The biggest downside was the horrible smell from the nearby poo recycling works.
Great beer garden but the smell, unfortunate wind direction or could have given another star
Looked a great selection of cake.
£11.80 for a large Shiraz and a pint of Guinness, wanted Merlot but they had run out, mm bit of a theme.
Nice slide and play area
Staff were polite enough
Take 2…. What a difference a day makes! Wind direction was in our favour, a totally different - better experience.
Carvery and lasagna were very tasty, still no merlot though 😂
Very nice polite staff
Went for evening meal. We didn't have a reservation but they found us a table anyway. A young lad served us, he was new and still working things out but was lovely and helpful. Food was lovely. Kids enjoyed the play area. We enjoyed our time there
Booked a table for 3 for 3.30 last Sunday 15/10. We all had the carvery. Would have given a 5 but the potatoes were over cooked, as if they were cooked the night before and re cooked on the day. We couldn’t even cut through them they were so hard on the outside and hard to chew. Everything else was really nice so we didn’t complain, the roast potatoes just let it down a bit hence the 4 stars. Staff are very friendly and polite.
Amazing customer service. I had booked online for 4 people. When we got there, the manager Phil noticed we had an elderly gentleman who had a walking aid so he went out of his way to sit us somewhere warm but nearer for my old friend. He taught us through how to order online and made sure that we had receipts so we knew what we had ordered. Phil also made sure that he brought the carvery for our old friend to us so that he didn't have to move. The manager was amazing and we are definitely going again.
From reception desk handled with great care by Phil, the experience was smooth and first class. All the staff were excellent under his supervision. As my party seven arrived Phil had to handle a very aggressive and angry customer. He expertly handled the situation and was able to calm her down. I can only describe her as a very ignorant bully.
Visited on Sunday for a carvery, although we don’t live close by we were passing. I was immediately surprised by the friendly welcome, staff were very attentive. We were advised to use the app to order which we did, service was quick. Carvery was very fresh and tasty not bland like the competitors. Meat was succulent, gravy lovely. My young child enjoyed the kids menu too but only received one sausage which didn’t fill her so had to order an extra meal, she’s a fussy eater. Excellent staff and food.
Good food and good prices. Had a lovely party for Halloween 🥰. Also forgot to mention that the place looks really nice and well arranged as every table has it's privacy and lovely views. Also really nice outside with tables and a small playing area for children and private parking too with no payment. And the staff really nice and helpful. Thank you.
We were greeted at the door and immediately made to feel welcome. Quickly seated and made comfortable, our drinks arrived and our food order sorted. The staff were cheerful helpful and courteous. The food was enjoyable and the atmosphere was lovely. The only down side, I ordered a madras curry only to be told there was none. I found this a little disappointing and strange as it was a curry promotion night. I ordered an alternative meal and in fairness I was offered my money back off the bill, which I declined as I was still eating (fairs fair). The rest of the evening was wonderful. They have a great choice of beers and ciders and the prices are very reasonable. We all agreed our visit had been lovely and we would all go again.
Gorgeous food and lovely team. Can’t go wrong!
