Speke Hall, oh what a charming gem! 🏰💫
Stepping onto the grounds of Speke Hall is like stepping back in time to a bygone era of Tudor elegance and grace.
The picturesque black-and-white timbered exterior invites you to explore the history and beauty within.
As you stroll through the lush gardens, you can't help but be captivated by the tranquility and natural beauty that surrounds this historic manor.
The gardens, with their mix of carefully manicured hedges and wild blooms, offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
The stories of the White Lady ghost and the rich history of the hall add an air of mystery and intrigue to your visit. It's a place where legends and reality blend seamlessly.
Managed by the National Trust, Speke Hall is not just a glimpse into the past; it's a testament to the dedication of those who work tirelessly to preserve our heritage.

Excellent NT property just outside Liverpool, next to John Lennon airport. Plenty of rooms open to explore and friendly room guides eager to explain the house history. As members we were able to have a pre opening private tour by a fantastic guide dressed in a Victorian outfit. (See picture)

Had a trip to Speke Hall this week and it was as divine as ever I have lost track of how many times I have been there but it never disappoints. Great place for kids too as the gardens are a safe haven for families you could literally be there all day. The Hall looks stunning time only helps it to get better. Wonderful guides too Sally in particular who was a wealth of knowledge. I will be back because it is just such an amazing experience you come home feeling relaxed and refreshed. Visitors from all over the world were enjoying the day but its just as good if you just live down the road. Cafe great too serving home grown produce. Disappointed not to see the gift shop and I hope it returns again some time in the future. Keep up the good work and thank you so much to all the volunteers that made it such a lovely day. X

Beautiful historic building, and lovely grounds. The 'Bund' walk gives amazing views across the River Mersey and beyond - well worth it!

A great day out for the family. A well kept example of a Tudor home. The volunteers around the building were wonderful and full of knowledge which made each room even more interesting.
Only negatives were that the service was extremely slow in both cafe and stalls. Also the maze was shut. Not ideal for busy school holidays.

A good day out for all the family. The gardens are lovely and we'll kept. There's plenty for the children to do and explore. There's a Childe of Hale path that my granddaughter found very exciting. Lots of woodland with climbing features. The cafe is clean, well stocked and priced reasonably. There used to be a gifts shop but it's now a book shop. Still very popular and you can donate used books to them, which I found very handy. There is a very nice veg, fruit and herb garden. I asked if they sell the produce but they don't but sometimes give it away. This could be a great opportunity at the hall to make some money for the upkeep. All of the staff are wonderful and knowledgeable. It's a great day out and children really enjoy it, they can burn off lots of energy in a safe environment. Have a look at the website for more details and events there, definitely go along for a great day out.

Lovely National Trust property. Interesting house, beautiful grounds and great extended walks. Perfect for kids; there is maze, playground and special trail through the woods especially for children with more play equipment. Also good for dogs... dogs on leads permitted on certain walks in the grounds, and allowed off lead if you access the coastal park. Also, excellent pizza and ice cream stands!

Speke Hall is a good place to visit if you're a National Trust member, but expensive if you're not. Long walks through the gardens and woods, an historic Tudor house you can walk around and enter, picnic areas and cafe. It's a good for kids too.
