Went here for friends birthday meal, we each tried each other's food it was all freshly made and all I can say is omg please stay chef best food so close to home ,try the lamb pie it is to die for, will be back more often ,if u haven't been since the new chef has started you must go there .well done all

Could honestly say one of the best nights Iv had. Massive thank you to all the wonderful girls who preform and waitress to mark for creating monroes and the bar staff what a fantastic night didn’t stop laughing from the second We walked in to the second we left. Had a superb meal here the other week when we were on our holidays. Mark is such a fantastic host albeit he Is frustrated that due to present restrictions he cannot show us all his talents! The portions were substantial but more importantly the food was delicious especially the chips and port and dripping Sauce that we ordered with our sirloin steak. Went twice during our 10 day stay and highly recommend a visit.
We as a group of eight arrived without notice to be met with a very welcoming host who went out of his way to make our time there enjoyable and was patient with the young children in our group.
The food was fantastic and the portion size was large certainly too large for most in our group
Our time there made the last evening of the holiday a throughly enjoyable Experience and worth every penny and somewhere we would visit again without question when next in the area

Went to this family run pub with a friendly atmosphere for an evening meal we walked in and everyone had a smile 😋 I ate a double bacon cheeseburger as did my son, with chips and my friend had the scampi and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal would definitely come again.
Having been in lock down, this place has come to the rescue on more than one occasion. Beautifully prepared food ready for collection. I’d recommend the lasagne, great portions, great prices. And you have to have the Sunday roast!! Cannot wait for you guys to open 100% again soon.

We found this establishment purely by chance one afternoon while exploring our new surroundings, we were looking for places to eat in our local aera and booked a table for lunch. The food was excellent, we both had the Sunday roast. There is a great atmosphere and staff are friendly. We will definantly be going back in the future. Thanks Mark.

We have visited several times, and have not been dissappointed. New menu was sampled and steaks cooked to perfection. Reasonably priced, and after a starter and main we had no room for pudding.
Extremely good carvery. Apple and BlackBerry crumble great. Such big portions. Lovely and friendly staff.
Four of us went for a meal last weekend, having just moved to the area it was wonderful to find such a friendly pub with great food. We will be going back again and again!
