It's very rare that I feel moved to do a review of a place, but after a day of walking up glen catacol in the driving rain, we were desperate for warmth and delicious food. It was dark when we finished the walk and we were absolutely soaked. We were greeted with warm friendly service and a warm fire which dried our clothes. The food was brilliant and exactly what we needed after the day we'd had. Especially recommend the haggis loaded fries. Whisky cheese sauce! Whatever will they think of next?! Also, they pour a good pint of Guinness. Bravo
Aug 2023. Didn’t stay overnight so only reviewing the restaurant which was bright, airy and clean. Good selection of drinks at the bar (inc plenty of whiskies). Food was really good, decent choice in the menu and maybe slight cheaper than usual Arran prices. Will definitely be back.
After our walk me and six friends had pints and Cheesy chips here. Maybe it was the 6hr walk but the Cheesy chips were delicious!!!! Melted cheese well cooked chips (is there anything better) and what I can be sure of was that the service was so friendly and welcoming! Recommend!
A wonderful little pub. Busy undergoing a full refit but I definitely believe that this pub has a lot to offer. Will be a great place for the yachtsman out there to stop for a good lunch.
This is a community run pub open just a few weeks as of June 2023.
Belhaven Best and 80 Shilling both fine beers. Fish and chips were well cooked and portions were good.
Staff are very friendly in a relaxed setting.
Reasonable fayre. No real ales, and limited selection of beers.. although they do Thier own lager which is a nice touch. Food was fine, I get the feeling not much of it is made on site (fish and chips aren't for sure) but quality was ok.
Six of us and two dogs, had a meal and drinks last night.
It was fantastic, friendly staff, excellent real ale for me lochranza lager for the others went down well. Food was 4 venison burgers which were epic. One large pizza and macaroni cheese with garlic bread.
We all agreed excellent in every way.
Atmosphere was good too. Strongly recommend.
Popped in tonight for food had 2 Sunday dinners lovely food, great beer and nice wine , very friendly staff thankyou. Fab pub 👌
Had a great time here chatting with a varied group of people.. guitars hanging on the walls tempting me almost to have a noodle :-) .. lovely couple of local beers
Great public house with limited menu but very nice food and a warm fireplace
Didn't stay but locally supported hotel needs more support from people like us visiting I enjoy the beer an the food👍👍👍
Very friendly, good food and drinks at a very reasonable price. Good helpings too.
Great selection of drinks and very reasonably priced.
Beautiful location, nice range of whisky small draft range but good
Stopped for a quick beer, good prices and nice place
Top service by the new barman. He did a great job with a smile on his face. The food was really pretty good, which surprised us as it was as a Sunday in April. Big servings, fresh salad, nothing fancy, just the basics done well. Very satisfying.
If you're hungry, then the food is surprisingly good here, and good value for money. Nice selection of beers and an amazing selection of whiskies. We didn't stay, so can't comment on rooms.
Friendly and welcoming pub . Garden has superb views of Lochranza castle and bay. Food is standard pub grub....well cooked and large portions . Fish and chips and the roast salmon are particularly good. No reservations....but at busy times may need to wait for a table.Large whiskey selection.
