I went here with a few colleagues to celebrate a one year anniversary and the food was great, service fantastic and atmosphere perfect. Our serving staff was kind enough to answer our questions about the menu and shared album and song information with my co-worker who loved the music. Looking forward to going back!

The Black Trumpet restaurant in London, Ontario, has the most wonderful, Indonesian teak inspired, interior decor found anywhere. The name, seemingly, inspired by the black trumpet (black chanterelle) edible mushroom. The whole area is divided into a number of comfortable and varied sections permitting both individual and group settings. I ordered an entree of Seafood Linguine comprising; sautéed shrimp, scallops, overrated mussels (Please chef, study the long list of ingredients found on a list of sea food), spinach, and cherry tomatoes, in white wine dill cream sauce, which had signs of prior preparation, confirmed towards the end by a complete loss of temperature. Nevertheless, the dish was saved by a very palatable glass of sauvignon blanc (Map Maker, New Zealand). The chosen dessert was, truly, a wonderful surprise; Black Chocolate Brownie with caramel sauce, fragments of fruit, and ice cream. This was absolutely delicious and deserves a Gâteau du Grand Prix. During the summer, meals (or an afternoon glass of wine coupled with a slice of Black Chocolate Brownie, ‘smile’) may be enjoyed on the patio of a beautiful private Zen-inspired garden. A couple of McDonald’s inspired reviewers who, obviously, prefer plastic chairs, have ignorantly, and incorrectly, complained of expensive dishes, which should not influence your choice for a visit.

You will not be disappointed by this restaurant. It's one of those places that will bring you a decent enough meal each time. Though there has been fluctuation in their quality of food. Their fried sushi roll is a crowd pleaser. I'm sad they discontinued the bow tie. Portion is very generous, and the atmosphere is amazing. I love their decor, it's darker, subtle and makes it very comfortable to sit and chat at the table. Their patio at the back is cozy yet comfortable.

I’ve been to the Black Trumpet about five or six times over the last few years, including last week. This is one of London’s better restaurants, especially if you’re looking for a more upscale experience. The ambience is business casual, tablecloth and candles. The food is similar to most higher end restaurants. There isn’t a particular style or theme of food - expect to see familiar plates like prime rib, rack of lamb, chicken supreme, etc. Appetizers are excellent. Personally, I’ve had the butternut squash soup and maki rolls - the rolls are a big favourite of many people. The mains are smaller to medium fair but very good. I had the lamb rack and it was excellent. Dessert is average. I had a very good cheese cake before but have also had an average brownie. Servers are good, pretty knowledgeable about the meals. Wine list is average. There’s a prix-fix menu during London-licious for those who want to try a few different smaller items at a discount, which I’d recommend for people on a budget. The price is a little high for the food but you’re paying for ambience. This place is suited best for fancy business dinner and anniversaries. Parking is limited to street parking, which can be tricky on busier nights. Probably best to uber. Overall, relatively reliably more upscale restaurant in London. I’ll be back.

The jerk hen was really good. The only feedback is you should ask for the pricing on items that are not ok menu first to avoid surprise. We order a cauliflower crust pizza and a kids pasta which is just penna cheese and tomato sauce. The pizza was only 10 dollars but the pasta was 16.

A most pleasant dining experience overall. Fried Brie and Mussels appetizers were outstanding. Service was excellent. Main course for both of us was the seafood pasta. Mine was delicious.lots of seafood. A very tasty sauce and pasta perfectly done. Sadly my wife's pasta arrived without any sauce making it dry and pretty tasteless. Server was quick to take it back once we got her attention and had 'some' sauce added. This improved her dish, but by that time I was nearly finished. Too bad this happened, did not expect such a faux pas at the BT. Also if you sit at the back near the patio in winter, wear a jacket- very cool.

Cozy and elegant place, friendly service and yummy food. Me and my date ordered The stuffed jalapenos for appetizers, then I ordered The duck breast for entree and we shared the dessert, which was The dark chocolate truffle brownie with home made icecream. The jalapenos were extremely delicious!! The duck breast was a little bit undercooked and I requested to get it cooked more, I got another piece of the meat with no fuss! And the dessert excellent. 😊
