We’ve seen this restaurant a handful of times and finally tried it. We were greeted immediately and received personable friendly service. The atmosphere was quaint. I haven’t been to a restaurant as comfortable as this in a long time. The food was great. A lot of places serve fish and chips but the fish we had had great flavour and the portions were fairly sized. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, families, couples, business people, singles. It’s worth it.

Great little spot for fish. Similar meal portions and options to that of Archie's. I always enjoy coming to this little spot, it's rarely busy and there's always a table available. Lunch is perfectly priced and the owner is always friendly. It was a little cold in the restaurant but is definitely a great place to sit and chat. Not noisy like other places. Lastly, the place itself was clean and welcoming will continue to keep going back.

The Golden Lake Fish and chip restuarant has only the freshest fish and home made batter. There's plenty of fish in the crisp thin coated pieces of mouth water haddock. Choose from a variety of side dishes to go with your main course. Fresh lemon wedges..YES PLEASE! Always a good time for you or the whole family. I take family here often. I took a chance at this new restaurant and ordered haddock fish, coleslaw, baked potato and coconut cream pie. It was takeout. Did I ever enjoy it when I got home! Everything was delicious, pie included. The batter was perfect on the fish. I was delighted with my meal and will tell others about it. The service was quick and friendly. I'll be back!

Another delicious meal from Golden Lake Fish & Chips! Two of us had the Haddock & Shrimp and the other had the Pollock. The shrimp was served with a tomato dip and all were served with tasty fries and tartar sauce. We also shared an appetizer of yummy battered mushrooms with ranch dip. Everything was perfectly cooked and large portions. We even ended up taking some home. Fast and friendly eat-in service! Thank you, for making us a fantastic lunch!

Visited this fish and chips place a few times now and I can confidently say that its consistency of both food and service are solid. Located on a corner of a major intersection in South London, the sign stands out well and while it shares a parking lot with several other businesses, it is the best non-chain restaurant in that plaza. The owner cares a lot about the food quality and it shows up as consistency and for the uniform cooking, no matter the type of fish. I tried 3 different ones so far: halibut, haddock and pollock. My favorite is the pollock, but that's my personal preference. Most go for the haddock for a cleaner and more hearty bite. The halibut is really good if you prefer a firmer initial bite because its flesh is denser. They always ask if you'd want a light or heavy batter. Light works out very well for my recommendation. Both fries and onion rings are also done great here. Portion sizes are good and the pricing is reasonable. I was surprised at the combination of ingredient quality, the batter texture & flavor and the sides. This is a damn good fish and chips place. Update: The grilled salmon and pollock were great too! Update 2: There is also a kids meal starting form $8.99

I bumped into this place accidently on my way to a nearby store and decided to dine in with the family for lunch. This is a great and cozy place to take your family or for couples. Prices are spectacular compared to most Fish and Chips restaurants and the service was good. Food portions were also pretty good and the quality was on par. Will definitely visit again!
