Amazing experience!
Wait staff operate like clockwork, just impressive to sit and watch them work. But they're also super friendly to talk to.

Great flavours, great ingredients, great drinks.
Make sure you visit the bathroom during yoir sitting, to see the mushroom fridge!

We recently visited the Ledbury for a special event. They were super organised with congratulatory messages on cards for us.
The service was great and so was the personal attention to us. I guess thatâs expected as itâs a two Michelin star restaurant. As usual good wine list and loads of wines to choose from even wines by glass. As expected itâs pricey and we know whenever we visit a top Michelin restaurant the prices in central London will be quite steep ( so be prepared for that )
We had the tasting menu which was really nice and some pictures are attached to my note. You wouldnât expect to like everything but most of the courses very delicious.
Verdict 5/5
Budget easily ÂŁ250/- per person and more depending on how / which wines you choose

Still incredible, still evolving. Such a pleasure to return for the first time after the hiatus and to see new and familiar faces. The menu is completely fresh new, and yet still comfortably 'Ledbury'. Wonderful new ingredients from the restaurant's own herbs and mushrooms, to special supplies of meat and game, and little twists like lemongrass and kombucha all combine beautifully. The wine by the glass selection was always interesting, but this time it really matched by tastes exactly. For us, still the best restaurant in London. Hope to return soon.

My partner and I are both people who live to eat. In 2019 we back we had our first top tier dining experience at La Petite Colombe and it brought us so much joy and amazement that it became a priority of ours to save up for another special dining experience once every year or two. But then covid hit, many places shut down and I unfortunately got diagnosed with allergies to gluten, dairy, and soy. For years I really thought that my experience in 2019 would be my last chance to eat at a top tier restaurant. I couldn't imagine that any restaurant would be willing to work around my restrictions. Surely if they would, the versions they would create for me would be pale, tasteless facsimiles of the regular dish.
That's why I was floored by how accommodating The Ledbury was about my restrictions. I gave them a call before booking and was greeted with pure enthusiasm and not a touch of judgment. The incredibly nice hostess even called me back to ask for a clarification which I very much appreciated.
The evening and the food were wonderful. From the numerous amuse bouches to the last sweet bite of desert everything was beautiful and tasted great. Not only did they work around my restrictions, they created alternates that were just as delicious, interesting, and gorgeous to look at as the dishes from the normal menu. The food itself was incredible. Every bite was a journey of discovery - new combinations of flavors and textures that we had no idea existed. Delicate bright notes of citrus and salt swimming over scrumptious notes of umami and fat. For my partner's birthday they also adorned our table with a sweet card which was a great touch. I'd be remiss to not mention the friendly and warm staff who made us feel very welcome as they conducted us through a magical evening.
I'm deeply grateful to The Ledbury, not just for the wonderful evening, but also for showing me realize that top tier dining is still possible for me with my restrictions.

What a delightful experience. We went for dinner and we really enjoyed every minute. The staff are very attentive and super welcoming and friendly. Every dish served was a pleasant experience, although I would have preferred larger portions to enjoy the taste longer đ The dishes are served over 3 hours. Overall we really enjoyed it for a special occasion, as the food served is quite unique to the restaurant, they are not common dishes that you can find at other restaurants. Overall, you pay for the experience (ÂŁ250 pp).

We had their tasting menu, but decided against the wine pairing. We loved how the dishes just kept on getting better (not that the first ones were bad!) Fantastic Jersey beef perfectly cooked. The service was also fantastic. Looking forward to go back soon.

The Ledbury had been on our hit list for quite a while. With a coveted two Michelin stars, and an Australian chef/owner - Brett Graham - it really was more of a must-do. So we did - and we are so pleased we visited. It’s been permanently on The Worlds 50 Best Restaurants and The Worlds 120 Best Restaurants lists since 2011. For 2019 it sits just outside the top 50 at Number 64 but it has been as high as 10th previously!

A truly incredible dining experience.<br/><br/>The Ledbury is a fine dining restaurant with a real emphasis on fine, as every part of our visit was truly exceptional. <br/><br/>The staff were really friendly and from varied locations. They knew their products, dishes and menu very well. They managed to achieve the perfect mix between professional and personal.<br/><br/>When having a meal with diverse food and many courses, I like to ask that we only find out about the fish after weâve finished eating it. It adds a whole extra level of enjoyment and appreciation to the food. Plus, I always find that my tastebuds are more generous to trying new flavours and items in this scenario. <br/><br/>Whilst it is a pricey experience, it is one that was 100% worth it. Every dish was made to perfection and I couldnât stop making yummy noises - always a very good sign.

Itâs not often you get a chance to dine at The Ledbury, but when the opportunity arises make sure you jump right on it. Currently placed at 27th of The Worldâs 50 Best restaurant list. The Ledbury also has been accredited with two Michelin stars, one from 2006 and the second in 2010. Brett Graham is the man behind the acclaimed restaurant hailed from Australia bagging the Josephine Pignolet award, giving him the opportunity to come to London.

They say that lunch is the inferior meal of fine dining. Then again, âtheyâ are usually the same SMHâers that throw shade on British food, and once again they are wrong. Though The Ledbury may be more casual by day, their flavors are anything but. I often enjoy the amuse bouches even more than the apps. I love the sneak preview of all that is to come, and the momentary mouthful allows a glimpse into the fleeting whims of a beautiful mind.

When planning our recent vacation, realizing we would have a few hours in London, I knew I had to get my priorities straight, starting with where to eat. As I polled various foodie friends who had been through the city, I received a number of suggestions, but one was listed over and over again â The Ledbury. Thus, like any good global food lover, I watched the reservation window and pounced on an appointment for a long lunch on our one full afternoon in the city. Given our short stay in London (under 48 hours), I had booked a hotel in nearby Notting Hill â The Laslett (more on that experience later). I chose the property primarily because of its location, thus, we could easily stroll to lunch. Hubs and I lucked out for our brief visit, and had a clear walk to make our 1:15 reservation.

The quintessence of modern British food. The aged pidgeon was just insane, with agin that perfect balance through game. the pheasant egg and celeriac is a dish I could eat every morning. etc etc etc......<br/>the wine list is also balanced and well priced with a couple gems at a decent price.<br/>Service is also very precise; present when needed, friendly without making tones of it, and very witty.<br/>It comes at a price, nothing crazy considering the amount of work behind it.

Last night we headed over to Notting Hill for dinner at The Ledbury. After a stroll down Portobello Road & a quick stop at The Portobello Star, we headed across for what was to be an amazing experience. As is our standard, we went with the 7 course tasting menu (plus optional cheese course). It is really hard to pick a favourite dish, as they were all fantastic. Coupled with some beautiful wines, it was certainly worth our while.

We love food and have been lucky to go to a number of fine dining restaurants around London, this has been our absolute favourite experience to date. Everything was perfect, the staff were so welcoming and not at all stuffy like other establishments, the wine was heavenly and the FOOD. WOW. There aren't enough words in the world to describe how awesome the food the was. It's the best tasting menu, we were very full by the end, we went for the eight dishes. I would have been fine with the six and more than full but we didn't want to miss out on tasting anything as it all sounded incredible. We're only sad we didn't have room for the cheese! I highly recommend The Ledbury for any special occasion, it was a real treat.

I canât think of too many restaurants that Iâve had both a strong desire to visit and an equally strong level of frustration to secure a table. Given the reputation of The Ledbury, a perennial #Worlds50 Best Restaurant and Two Michelin Starred establishment, I can understand that itâs a little difficult to get into. However, the main reason that Iâve been unable to secure a table in the past is because you cannot get a table as a solo dinerâŠ.

My last meal at the Ledbury was back in January, the day after New Yearâs Day to be exact. The kitchen was working on a limited menu and they were very upfront with the fact that this was because of restrictions to supplies at that time of the year. Nevertheless, it was a very solid meal and it was nice to see Brett cooking in his own kitchen during the holidays, a refreshing change in this day and age when many chefs are much more interested in showing up on TV than they are maintaining the high standards in their own kitchen. For this meal, Kang of Londoneater had kindly gone to the trouble of booking us a table which these days are booked solid two months in advance. You can read his take of our meal here.

It's weird, I've never liked the look of the Ledbury menu so I've constantly put off going despite it constantly coming out as the No 1 tasting menu in London and often the UK. Every tasting menu I've had anywhere there's been an item on it that I don't think works, and I'm consistently proven wrong, given that, I figured that a menu where I didn't think anything worked must mean that I was again wrong about it, and I was - it was superb.<br/><br/>Let's start at the beginning; the Ledbury's a small restaurant in Notting Hill, located on the corner of 2 residential roads and is utterly unassuming, from the outside it could really be anything, inside it oozes style, the tables are laid out such that you're not sitting on top of each other and it's all nice and serene as you'd expect. So, to the food....<br/><br/>We had the 8 item tasting menu with paired wines, the first course was tomatoes and langoustine oil, I don't really know how to describe it except textures and flavours of tomato, each different but excellent together, the rich langoustine balanced it all and held it together really well. The white beetroot with smoked eel (and I admit I'm biased as I love smoked eel) was again perfectly balanced as I expected the beetroot to overpower the eel but no, it was mild enough to complement it perfectly. The warm bantam's egg with dried ham and truffle was a Sunday morning fry up given an up market make over, absolutely awesome (I admit to holding some bread back to mop up the egg), it was the mildest dish with truffle I have ever encountered and this is a good thing as I find truffle more often than not kills the flavour of everything else on the plate, this was really well balanced and the truffle was just one of the flavours not the heavy flavour killer I'm used to. The steamed romanesco with shellfish, crab and parmesan crisp was full of the flavour of the sea and the parmesan just enhanced the sea flavours with it's own saltiness. The glazed aubergine if I'm honest was the weakest item on the menu, more a texture than a flavour but then I dislike aubergine, however the meat sauce was amazing. The Galloway beef was to die for, perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth beef with bone marrow, just perfection. The first dessert was a set custard and doughnut, I loathe set trifle, mainly for the horribly gelatinous cold custard within so this was a massive shift from what I was expecting, far from being the claggy lump of vanilla I expected it was a light delicate little thing with tasted amazing, coupled with the tiny delicate doughnut it was a real surprise, two things that should be heavy both in taste and texture were light, delicate and refined. The brown sugar tart with stem ginger ice cream was a struggle, not because of anything to do with the food just because we were stuffed. Even though we'd only eaten brunch that day and it was now 10 hours later we had to fight to make room for it.<br/><br/>So, the service, there's no dress code, which is great, and the service is as informal as the dress, this is no bad thing, no stuffy waiters, just attentive, friendly staff who realise that the slightest slip up from them can ruin your meal. Sam was excellent, a really nice guy, happy to answer questions about the food and everything a good manager should be, he gets himself out to the front of house and meets the diners rather than hiding out the back. Our sommelier was excellent (I'm really sorry I can't remember her name which is appalling as she was fantastic), explaining every wine and very helpful when I explained that I don't particularly like red so she swapped out the heavier of the 2 reds (a Malbec) for a South African white which was not dissimilar to a white burgundy and could hold its own against heavy flavours (great choice btw). And of course Dylan with his very dry sense of humour. I have to say that I think the service here was better than at the Waterside Inn under Diego and the food was on a par, perhaps the Waterside has 3 Michelin stars because it's a prettier building, who knows? But the Ledbury blows the only other 2 star restaurant I've visited, the Hand and Flowers, out of the water. Well done guys and thank you very much for an excellent anniversary meal.

We visited here for lunch earlier in the year. We opted for the tasting menu and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant itself was a bit subdued being Sunday lunch but is very well presented and i'd imagine would have a great atmosphere in the evening. A slight criticism would be the tables perhaps being a little too close together. <br/><br/>The food and service were top notch as you'd expect. The snacks at the beginning were excellent (especially the dumpling) and the meal throughout was of a very high quality with the highlights being the Agen prune and the Belted Galloway dishes. They even gave us an extra desert to share which was a really nice touch. The manager was very charismatic, knowledgable and passionate about the food.<br/><br/>This is rightfully in the upper echelon of fine dining establishments, it certainly won't disappoint.

Really amazing choice for our first meal in London. We opted for the 4 courses set lunch menu and although the dishes started out small we walked away perfectly satisfied. I wasn't a huge fan of the scallop cevice but couldn't fault how fresh the scallops themselves were. The strawberry tart is definitely one of my fave deserts ever. It seemed so simple in theory but the combination of textures and flavours were perfect.

Ledbury used to be a restaurant I would frequent a lot back when I was living in London. Back then, the restaurant had just obtained a Michelin star and was viewed as a âliteâ version of the Square. It was more of a neighbourhood restaurant rather than a destination restaurant. Booking was not essential and you can literally walk-in and get a table on the day. I still remember a lunch service and where there were about 4 other diners.

It was three of my friendâs 30th birthdays (one of them including Tim!) and Matt had managed to get us a table at this incredible restaurant, one of very few to have two Michelin stars! Chef Brett Graham has won countless awards since beginning his career in Australia at the age of 15, working in a fish restaurant. An extremely overdue post, due to a few busy days (holidays, birthdays, visitors from Italy) and the looming and now passed, deadline to hand in my write-ups for next yearâs restaurant guide. Amongst the places I was asked to cover this year was the Ledbury, Michelin starred establishment in Notting Hill. Partly owned by Phil Howard, I had sort of always wanted to try but it was not exactly on top of my list, partly, I confess, because Notting Hill is, for lazy me, quite a trek. I asked my friend and fellow restaurant aficionada The Chaotic Cook to join me for dinner and I finally made my way to the far west (not really).

Regardless of what Santa might decide come Christmas day, judging by how utterly spoilt I've been for my birthday, I must have been very good this year... or I'm just surrounded by the best people. Probably the latter. The best of the best being, of course, my incredible husband E. He always spoils me rotten (not just on special occasions, and I don't mean in a material sense - he does a lot for me, all the time), and he knows me so well. He'd already gifted me a dreamy present from when we went to New York (I am subsequently obsessed with all things Henri Bendel), so I definitely did not expect him to take me out for what was the best lunch I've ever had in London. A bold statement, and one that means it surpassed the likes of Alain Ducasse (ok, only by a hair, but still) and l'Atelier de Joel Robuchon.

We ate here on the 16th of October for a Friday lunch, we were on our honeymoon from Australia. The Ledbury is a formal and serious fine dining restaurant. My wife and myself both had the full tasting menu with matching wines. The service and food was impeccable, my only critique would be if the service staff could announce the food and wine more clearly and with a greater depth of understanding and passion. When you are a foodie and you undertake a tasting menu, the interpretations and motivations behind the dishes are as important as the balance and techniques used in the actual dish. One of the gentlemen that served us was excellent the others were in need of some practice and guidance. Ths food was amazing, spot on every dish. Our favourite was the tomato dish, incredible. As silly as it sounds the house bread and whipped goats whey butter was also a high light :) we were treated wonderfully and loved our experience at the Ledbury, the chef was even kind enough to show us the kitchen. Will definitely return when we venture back to this side of the globe. Thank you Ledbury team!

I visit this place often with my husband for lunch or dinner. Lunch have a less fixed with an excellent value for money, all the dishes are beautifully presented and delicious. Excellent price and quality ratio. Tasty food, cooked perfectly. Do not hesitate; the restaurant is worth the trip.
The GF and I didn't have as many days in London as we did in Paris. But even with our limited time, I knew we had to make it out to Notting Hill. Not for the Blue Door. Rather, I was looking forward to trying Chef Brett Graham's offerings at The Ledbury. First thing's first. I was lost. A good thirty-plus minutes lost. Yet, without a frown or any expression of dismay, we were welcomed with a smile and taken to a wonderful table showcasing the dining room. It should be no surprise considering The Ledbury has consistently maintained 2 Michelin stars and, at the time, it was ranked 10th on San Pellegrino's World's Best Restaurants List (it's now ranked 20th). Regardless, the warm welcome was appreciated amidst my disarray.

16th February 2015 · by Chris · in eating , England , London As you may have realised if you have been reading my blog for a while, I have been to the Ledbury maybe 6-7 times.  I always find it to be a very surprising experience.  Usually in the form of a little unexpected but altogether very much welcome extra.  This visit was not to disappoint. Upon sitting down, I found the table ornament to be extremely interesting. I did wonder if the feathers of that particular bird (you will have to forgive my lack of fauna knowledge here as I am unable to identify what bird this comes from) ended up in some dish. Maybe it was from the bird which graced the covers of the menus. But in any case, onwards to what you come here for, to read about the food.  First up the amuse bouches. A lovely brioche. Foie gras jelly on puff pastry. Mussels on seaweed. The brioche was soft and airy with a light dusting of something crunchy on top. I think it was onion?  Next down was some foie gras jelly.  Not bad but a bit too light for my taste.  I do love my foie gras but am used to its heavy, cloying taste, uncultured barbarian I am.  Lastly, blended mussels on reconstituted seaweed.  A lovely amalgamation of the sea.  You will have to forgive me here as although the intricacies of the amuse bouches were explained to me in depth by our waiter, I was too interested in savoring the food with my sight and smell senses to pay attention.  My hearing tends to turn off when I am distracted you see, much to the dismay of my friends.  Which leads me to my most useful phrase when queried for my opinion after long monologues by friends.  âThatâs interestingâ. A beetroot and eel salad.  I am usually not a fan of beetroot.  It brings up childhood memories of trauma of that awful purple (why was it always purple) vegetable that I pushed around my plate as a kid.  Thankfully, this white beetroot tried valiantly to address my unconscious fear about this root vegetable.  It provided an ideal contrast to the

For me food is an art and this restaurant was like going to an exhibition. In my opinion one of London's finest restaurant. I went for the tasting menu although have to say its on the expensive side so I would personally chose to go to celebrate something or for a special occasion. 115GBP per head for the tasting menu. The service was top notch not pretentious at all either with a friendly very knowledgeable staff. Â <br/>The menu consisted of :<br/>Fresh Almonds, Salad of Green Beans and White Peach<br/>Tomatoes; Green Zebra, Noire de Crimee, Pineapple Ribbed, Fresh Curd and Olives<br/>Flame Grilled Mackerel, Pickled Cucumber, Celtic Mustard and Shiso<br/>Scottish Langoustine Wrapped in Shiitake, White Asparagus and Smoked Dulse<br/>Jowl of Pork, Carrots, Girolles and Crackling<br/>Breast and Confit Leg of Pigeon, Cherries, Red Vegetables and Leaves<br/>Tartlet of English Strawberries, Flowers and Honey Cream<br/>I couldn't fault any dish everything was perfect and the presentation was just wow<br/>Verdict a place on the expensive side but worth checking out if you are a foodie

I didnât eat at the Ledbury on my most recent trip to London but have eaten here 3 times before and have never been disappointed. In fact, the Ledbury was the first Michelin Starred restaurant I ever at it in my life. Aussie chef Brett Grahamâs restaurant has gone from strength to strength in the years since I first ate there, gaining a second Michelin star and rising to number 10 in the âWorldâs Best Restaurantsâ list.

Simply the best. Quite simply my favourite restaurant in London. The food makes my smile and my brain fuzzy with happiness and yet I never feel overly full. The wine menus is jaw dropping and the sommelier knows it inside out, seeking out the perfect wine regarless of budget. The staff carry out faultless fine dining service and are friendly and with a personality - you dont always get that. We go once a year and are always welcomed back as if we went every week. A true jem of a restaurant.

The Ledburyâs reputation preceded it and we were prepared to be disappointed, but it truly lived up to its hype and then some. Looking back on it, it's definitely one of the greatest dining experiences we've had to date. We had the tasting menu which at about ÂŁ100 a head, was actually really good value. Yes, that is expensive but many restaurants of its calibre charge significantly more, and the food and the service justified it. This is simply not the case with a lot of these 'modern', Michelin starred, hatted, top 100 list-esque restaurants. Yes there are many great ones, but there are also many that don't justify the prices they charge and don't deserve the accolades. The Ledbury sits firmly in the 'great' camp. The experience was truly memorable. Everything was just so creative and utterly delicious. We started with (three?) amuse-bouches and the house made bread which was generously dished out throughout the evening. My favourite proper course of the night was the mackerel while the simple pre-dessert of a clementine granita with meringue is up there with the Torija at Tickets (review to come) as the best dessert I've ever had. But while the food deserves the abounding superlatives thrown at it, it's the Ledbury's service, ambiance and overall 'experience' which truly sets it apart. In contrast to that at Pollen Street Social, the service here, while unmistakably refined, was not at all stuffy and pretentious. The service was just genuinely friendly, warm and not at all in your face. The sommelier who served us was sympathetic to the mild stomach complaint I brought with me that evening and diligently got me a ginger ale to calm my belly. M still talks about the amazing Americano

Superb.<br/><br/>This place deserves the second in this beautifully decorated French style dining room offering the best in a dining experience. <br/><br/>This is my favorite French restaurant in London. Itâs not cheap of course because you spend over ÂŁ100 per head. But, to be honest, I have dined recently in a more expensive restaurant and this one is far better. Itâs on a whole different level. <br/><br/>This place serves visual and culinary delights that are seasonal, fresh and to the highest possible standards. It presents one of the best cuisine I have experienced.<br/><br/>Superlative service and professional attentive staff make it a wonderful, relaxing experience.<br/><br/>Recommended for sure. I do love a good list; shopping lists, wish lists, Schindler's list; so you'll find me understandably giddy when the "Worlds 50 Best Restaurants" is announced annually which basically doubles as a bucket list for any foodie. To make this prestigious list is an achievement in itself but to make the top 10 puts a restaurant at a whole other level. That is the position that The Ledbury and head chef Brett Graham find themselves in as they crack the upper echelons for the first time in 2014, not only vindicating their 2 Michelin star status, but also sending my already high expectations higher. <br/><br/>Being a special occasion (because you don't go to The Ledbury unless it is one - well not me anyway!) only the 7 course tasting menu will do on this night. Well, "7" course they say but as with any tasting menu, it ends up feeling like more as 16 individual dishes came to our table over the course of the meal. <br/><br/>The menu for the night:<br/><br/>Appetisers:<br/>Cured mullet with apple;<br/>Sunflower seed crisps with artichoke puree;<br/>Cauliflower cream in a cheese tart; and<br/>Steam grilled sourdough with cheese & crispy onion.<br/><br/>Mains:<br/>Artichoke, muscat grapes, hazelnut, and sorrel topped with grated foie gras;<br/>Flame grilled makerel with pickled cucumber, Celtic mustard and shiso;<br/>Hampshire buffalo milk curd with truffle toast and a wild mushroom broth;<br/>Roast scallops with brassicas, seaweed and sherry;<br/>Jowl of pork with fresh walnut, fig and crackling; and<br/>Aged pigeon with blackcurrant, red leaves and vegetables.<br/><br/>Pre-dessert:<br/>A vanilla and rubarb cream topped with frozen yuzu.<br/><br/>Dessert:<br/>A tartlet of blackberries, spiced cream and lovage; and<br/>A brown sugar tart with poached grapes, crumble and stem ginger ice cream. <br/><br/>And lastly, some petits four to finish. <br/><br/>Instead of taking you through each item (given it will surely change with time), let's go straight to the highlights which for me were the mackerel, the pork and the pigeon. <br/><br/>The mackerel is The Ledbury's signature dish and rightly so. It was just melt-in-your-mouth exquisite and tasted like no other fish dish I'd ever had. The jowl of pork, steamed cooked for 8 hours, was equally mind blowing and I wished so hard it didn't have to end. However that pain was lessened when I was presented with the pigeon which, once viewed as a pest by me, is now a beautiful culinary experience. <br/><br/>At ÂŁ110 for the 7 course menu (ÂŁ180 with wine pairing), it certainly isn't cheap but for a once-off special occasion, is well worth the money. For those with a smaller appetite, there is a reduced 5 course menu for ÂŁ95 though the dishes are different. Right now to start saving again for the next top 10...<br/><br/>Follow me also on Twitter @WeTryKai and @annixontong and on Instagram @annixontong<br/>

It was almost like we were getting the last meal of the day, the place was almost empty and seemed to be ready to shut down. We did reach very late. The food was only okay and not very amazing. However, I really liked the venison dish which was very pleasant in taste.
This place is absolutely amazing and offers the best menu in the whole city. If you are short on cash then you might have to give this place a miss though. I have eaten at a lot of restaurants in the city and found this to be the best. We had risotto, roe deer and some dessert, which all tasted like heaven itself. The staff, however, lacked attention and were slow to catch up on our order. The tasty food, however, made up for all of that and I will be returning nevertheless.

Perhaps one of the few restaurants I have been so eager to go to in the UK is The Ledbury. Getting a booking in the Ledbury that suited the occasion proved far more difficult than trying to solve a Poirot plot, nobody but Hercule himself knows. The Ledbury is not a restaurant you just try to book two weeks in advance, no you must have the idea that you are going MONTHS in advance.<br/>Well to celebrate the BFs not so special birthday (any birthday that doesn't end in an 0 is not so special) I had the magnificent idea to book the Ledbury in July and made a booking for September. So last weekend across we trotted to Westbourne Park to have Sunday lunch there.<br/><br/>So once we were sat, the BF and perused the menu. On a Sunday you have two choices, either the Al Carte menu at ÂŁ90 for four courses or the Set Menu for ÂŁ45 for four courses with or without pairing wines. We opted for the Set lunch with pairing wines at ÂŁ80 per person.<br/><br/>What I absolutely love about fine dining is the attention to detail, the crisp white table cloth and the flowers. For me there is something beautiful about sitting down and having a formal meal. To start our feast we had an array of amuse-bouche, which were all really excellent.<br/><br/>Next came the Gazpacho, Gazpacho is one of those things if done well, then it is delightful and if done badly well it is just a disaster. The gazpacho had an ever so delicate tomato taste, I say ever so delicate because if I didn't know what Gazpacho was it would be difficult to find the tomato in it, it's far easier when you know what flavours you are looking for. The dish was so light, with such beautiful flavours that it made me think I could have Gazpacho everyday. I loved the way the Gazpacho was served, first came the bowl, then came the waiter who delicately poured the Gazpacho into the bowl and VIOLA, an amazing gazpacho was ready for us to eat.<br/><br/>The seafood risotto followed the Gazpacho and all i can say is what a delight. I make a lot of risotto at home and I profess not a single one of my risottos have remotely come to tasting as good as this. The risotto itself was creamy like a feather on your tongue and then you got the wonderful seafood taste just came through giving you that ahhh feeling without overpowering you.<br/><br/>The beef soon followed the risotto and this was the moment that I felt that I had to take Galvin at Windows of its podium and put The Ledbury on. I absolutely love beef, so once I tried a slice of the beef my exact words were 'Omg, omg, omg ....' at which point the BF looked confused but I when I finished my sentence with 'it's so good, it's better than my all time favourite beef experience at Galvins' he chuckled.<br/><br/>To finish off our meal with I had the meringue with mango and vanilla. When I ready the set lunch menu the desert was the only thing that put me off, I like rich, heavy luxurious chocolate deserts, so when I saw meringue with mango and vanilla it didn't jump out at me. More fool me. This desert taught me that light and creamy can be divine! The meringue was light, smooth and oh so tasty, and as for the mango well that was such a great compliment to the meal.<br/><br/>The BF opted for the cheese at an additional ÂŁ10 supplement. The cheeseboard at The Ledbury is not the best I have seen to date in terms of having an extensive selection but the quality of the cheese was certainly excellent.<br/><br/>Great for - An extravagant meal for a special occassion . As much as I like amazing food and fabulous restaurants I think restaurants like the Ledbury should be for a special occassion just because they are so special. After all the queen doesn't where her Crown every day (secretly I think she does I know I would) so some things need to retain an element of magical moments only.

This was an amazing lunch, and easily the best meal we had in the city. It is at par with some of the best restaurants of the world, and is simply fantastic. The place was decorated in a beautiful yet unpretentious manner, and the service was perfect. We requested for the tasting menu and matched wines along with the food. It was a genuinely amazing experience. If I had to make one complaint, it would be that the food is so generously proportioned, some of it was wasted. Otherwise, this place is flawless.

Located in the calm and pristine Notting hill neighbourhood, this place is a pleasurable experience if you order the 110 pounds tasting menu. This time we settled with The Ledbury which has been around for 9 years. Earlier this week it was ranked number 10 in the most recent Worldâs 50 Best Restaurants list. The solid reputation The Ledbury has built up the past decade plus the two Michelin stars it holds attracts many bookings. Going to this kind of place requires some careful planning or luck if youâre aiming at popular hours. In our case it was a combination of the two. I was one month ahead and only managed to get the last available dinner table for the following month. Note that weekday lunch tables probably are probably easier targets for flexible travellers.

After a hot and exotic November spent in Thailand, December was rather dreary for me...over indulgence on holiday meant a healthy December and avoiding Christmas treats. Mulled wine is especially hard to say no to! That said, I was particularly looking forward to the treat planned for my three year anniversary with the lovely Mr Silver. <br/><br/>The Ledbury in Notting Hill has been on my restaurant bucket list for years but I'd always struggled to get a booking. This time I was prepared and secured a table two months before the big day! Its not hard to see why the Ledbury is difficult to get into, it is one of only 9 two Michelin star restaurants in London and is also the holder of 3 AA Rosettes.<br/><br/>So dressed in our finery, including my 5 and half inch Jimmy Choos which only make an outing on occasions when I'm unlikely to move from a sitting position, we arrived at the restaurant with eager anticipation.<br/><br/>The restaurant is classic in design with large feature windows, cream furnishing and dark wood. Ambience is buzzy but formal and at *little* staid. <br/><br/>We started off the meal with a glass of the house champagne, which was disappointingly watery and lacking in flavour. But I still somehow managed to drink it...<br/><br/>With so many wonderful food choices we opted for the tasting menu and, as it was a celebration, Mr Silver order a bottle of Louis Roederer to wash it down with. <br/><br/>Bread was delicious and as well as the table bread we were offered other choices, a particular favourite was the bacon and onion brioche bread! <br/><br/>Our first course was a starter of artichoke and foie gras, I don't eat foie gras and I was given crapaudine beetroot with smoked eel and olives. As a big foodie I generally know what items on the menu are but I'd never heard of crapadine beetroot! It turned out to be a carrot shaped beetroot!<br/><br/><br/>Mr Silver's Foie<br/><br/>A rather unusual beetroot<br/>The beetroot kind of looked like blood smeared on a plate and would not have been a dish I would have personally chosen but it was light and enjoyable. A sneaky taste of Mr Silver's foie (Iknow, I know!) revealed that this was the better of the two. <br/><br/>Here's what followed: <br/><br/>Crisp quails egg with Perigord truffle. A highlight for me!<br/><br/>Cornish turbot with grilled leek. I had this as an alternative to the jowl of pork which I didn't really fancy but Mr Silver enjoyed!<br/><br/>Sea Bass with brassicas, chopped oysters and sake. Another mystery item! Brassicas are cruciferous vegetables apparently. I love sea bass and this was my favourite dish!<br/><br/>All the savoury dishes were delicious and beautifully presented but, as I always find, the problem with a tasting menu is that such a small portion you really can't savour the dish.<br/><br/>Dessert! Pear cooked in brown butter with walnut, beremeal and caramelised goat's milk. The dessert was a light and tasty way to end the meal but it may not have been my first choice from the menu. <br/><br/>I really enjoyed The Ledbury and I was delighted to tick the restaurant off my bucket list! However, for me it doesn't compare to my two favourite restaurants in London, Alain Ducasse and Gordon Ramsay Royal Hospital Road. I guess I'm just a hard princess to please!<br/>

Iâve been desperate to go to The Ledbury for years, alongside itâs two Michelin stars, itâs many âRestaurant of the Year Awardsâ and itâs lofty place as the 13th best restaurant in the world â itâs most peopleâs pick as the best in London.
All in all the lunch improved as the courses went on. We felt that by opting for the set lunch menu we may have been missing out, but thereâs no doubt that what we had was superbly arranged and we definitely got value for money (a not dissimilar experience to our time at the wonderful Martin Wishartâs in Edinburgh).

Overall I liked the food; but I found the Flame Grilled Mackerel to be the only course that made me think this is different, incredible and delicious. To their credit, all dishes tasted between the spectrum of good-to-great and none were declared plain nor strange. You are guaranteed to eat well here and ÂŁ105 is extremely reasonable.

The Ledbury in Notting Hill has been on my restaurant bucket list for years but I'd always struggled to get a booking. This time I was prepared and secured a table two months before the big day! Its not hard to see why the Ledbury is difficult to get into, it is one of only 9 two Michelin star restaurants in London and is also the holder of 3 AA Rosettes.

The Ledbury is our favourite restaurant in London and at this time of year, when it's game season, you know there's always going to be something interesting on the menu, on this occasion, saddle of Sika deer. The restaurant is classy but retains a nice low key atmosphere to the place and a visit there is always worth getting excited about.

Headed by talented chef Brett Graham and located in Notting Hill, The Ledbury is a two Michelin star restaurant currently listed at No. 13 on S. Pellegrino Worldâs 50 Best Restaurants . No gimmicks - just beautifully cooked, refined and balanced dishes.
The dining experience from the fantastic service in a wonderful setting, the quiet, reserved, and classy ambience, topped by delicious food made for a wonderful night, worth every cent. I also found the service warm and affable, not just cold and professional. The highlight in food terms was the pork jowl.

The Ledbury is consistently ranked right up at the top of the London fine dining tree with two Michelin stars, a comfortable spot on the top-50 lists, and the fact that head chef Brett Graham got his start in Newcastle, NSW, of all places only added to the draw card.

We have heard fantastic reviews of The Ledbury, but with 2 Michelin stars and placed 13 th in the San Pellegrino 2013 top 50 restaurants in the world we expected it to deliver, and deliver it did. This was our second experience of a 2 Michelin starred restaurant and expectations were high along with the two month wait since booking increasing the anticipation. We chose to visit during a Sunday lunch sitting as this seemed to give the best value at £50 for three courses with a selection similar to the normal weekday a la carte menu at £80 for three courses including some of the signature dishes. Navigating our way from Westbourne Park tube station through the leafy suburbs of Notting Hill we eventually located within a residential area using our trusty iPhone. The restaurant was smaller than I had imagined and there are many mirrors on the walls to create an illusion of a bigger space. After a warm reception we were led to our table where Mrs Nom was offered a bag hook for her bag

Wow â what a meal. I would definitely recommend The Ledbury for a special occasion in London â the menu is constantly changing as well, and there is a large selection. Too expensive for dinner? Why not go for the set lunch priced at ÂŁ35.00 for three courses â what a bargain for a 2 Michelin Star restaurant! Perhaps next time we meet again LondonâŠ<br/>
The Ledbury exceeded my expectations. I'd got to the stage where classical french was starting to bore me a little: same scenes, different stage. The Good Food Guide describes the food as modern french, but it's more than that. It has personality, as do the staff who serve you. It's not the most exciting meal I've ever had, but it was very enjoyable indeed.

Booked three months ago, this weekend was finally the one we had lunch with my flatmate at The Ledburry, the two Michelin stars restaurant situated in Notting Hill. When we arrived there the team was very welcoming, elegant and helpful. We had a table for two, decorated in a simple and elegant way by a small detail, a black ornamental rock. The main room was beautiful but in my opinion, it was lacking some intimacy between tables, we could hear the discussion of the nearby table better than ours. When the menu arrived we have had the surprise that since our reservation the menu had changed, we took a small moment to discover their new menu . Â Both of us found this menu a little less interesting than their Spring menu, so we were a little bit disappointed. We ordered 2 starters, 2 main courses and a dessert, if you often read my blog, you must know that I am not a fan of dessert. Dishes were prettily decorated, I liked the presentation of the ceviche of scallops and the truffle toast.

There were two menu options. The special lunch Menu at ÂŁ45 or the Tasting Menu at ÂŁ75, both available with matching wine. Such a tough choice, but it was The Ledbury and we just had to go down the "More" route. We had matching wines for each course (including a matching wine for the amuse bouche) making a total of 8 glasses each (I think). Pretty heavy for lunch time drinking I have to say. In retrospect the "Less" route might have been the more sensible choice.<br/><br/>We started with Chantilly of Colchester Oysters with a Tartare of Scallop and Oyster, Horseradish and Dill - a very elegant dish, this was followed by Flame Grilled Mackerel with Smoked Eel, Celtic Mustard and Shiso. Then we had Hampshire Buffalo Milk Curd with Saint-Nectaire and Truffle Toast. The Truffle Toast was the highlight for me, delicious. We were four glasses down at this point when we moved on to the fish course of Roast Native Lobster with Broccoli stem, Natural Yogurt and Indian Spices in Brown Butter. This was followed by Pork Cheek cooked in Pedro Ximenez with Puffed Grains and Spiced Cream and Roast Haunch of Fallow Deer with White Beetroot and Smoked Bone Marrow and several more glasses of well matched wines. We finished with a light pre-dessert and the dessert of Pave of Chocolate with Milk Puree and Lovage Ice Cream.<br/><br/>The food was universally good, we just felt that we had over done it. I am always happy to go to The Ledbury but I think next time I will stick to the set lunch.<br/><br/>One tip though, if you do want to go down the Tasting Menu route, is to do it at lunch time - the Tasting Menu is ÂŁ30 cheaper then than the one offered in the evening.

I have been trying to go there for a while now, ever since I read about how this restaurant was attacked during the London riots last year (story which I thought was so peculiar as this was the only restaurant attacked like this) and ever since I read that they had become the 14th best restaurant in the world (from 34 a year ago, so a big jump, highest climber in the list), and they also now have 2 Michelin stars and is supposed to be one of the best places in London (note this year the Ledbury has climbed 1 more place to become the 13th best restaurant in the world), but something always happened, and I kept moving my lunch reservation around for half a year, but I finally made it. The Ledbury is located on Ledbury road in Notting Hill (not sure if this is named after a British town Ledbury, located in Hereford) and
The Ledbury is not somewhere you will easily get a booking at short notice, full for months ahead and for good reason too, it's a restaurant whose global reputation is well justified, we had a fabulous long lunch and some truly outstanding food. Open up your calendars, flick forward a few months and pencil in a day, you won't be disappointed.

----3rd September 2014----<br/><br/>This meal began with a series of excellent nibbles. A cylinder of red mullet was wrapped in green apple, along with cauliflower and cheese tartlet, foie gras and mead rice cracker, sunflower crisp with artichoke emulsion, and finally steamed brioche with bacon and onion. The latter was particularly enjoyable (18/20).<br/><br/>Green beans came with frozen grated foie gras, cobnut and peach. This was an unusual combination of textures but it worked very well (18/20). It was followed by beetroot and smoked eel garnished with horseradish, a pretty dish where the horseradish nicely lifted the flavor of the eel (18/20).<br/><br/>Fresh milk curd from Hampshire buffalo was served with aged Comte, crispy shallots, mushrooms and onion broth. On the side was Poilane bread with St Nectaire and Australian truffle. The truffled bread in particular was superb (18/20).<br/><br/>Langoustine tail was wrapped in shiitake, with braised cauliflower sheet and pine nuts; the shellfish was lightly cooked and had good inherent sweetness, pairing nicely with the mushroom and pine nuts (18/20). Wild salmon was served with courgette and sauce of lobster coral with Chardonnay butter. Although the salmon was wild, its flavour was not that wonderful, and the dish for me lacked something to cut through the inherent oiliness of the fish (16/20).<br/><br/>Grouse came with a layer of toasted seeds and grain, baked celeriac, girolles and an Earl Grey and foie gras sauce, with the wing and heart of the grouse served on the side along with a confit grouse sauce. The bird had very good flavour, not hung for too long and so not overly gamey, and the celeriac provided a nice earthy balance (17/20). Herdwick Lamb came with salt-baked turnip, kohlrabi, Padron pepper and garlic, the lamb carefully cooked, the pepper working well with the meat (17/20). <br/><br/>Cream of apple and elderflower in vanilla custard was the pre-dessert, very pleasant though for me the elderflower was slightly too dominant (16/20). This was followed by black figs with sourdough ice cream, with the quality of the figs rather letting down the dish; it is hard to eat figs in London after you have sampled those from the markets of the Mediterranean (15/20). Finally, a red fruit tart featured raspberry, red currant, flavoured with basil and pepper. This had good pastry and the fruit was fine, the pepper an interesting touch (16/20). The bill came to ÂŁ107 a head at lunch, with water and the odd glass of wine. Service was excellent, as it always seems to be here. Overall this was an excellent meal, though for me the desserts were unable to keep up the standard set by many of the earlier savoury dishes<br/><br/>----3rd May 2013----<br/><br/>Without doubt one of the finest restaurants in London. Brett Graham is unusually passionate about ingredients, and his cuisine is stylish and inventive. Service is terrific here, and the only problem is getting a reservation.

I like a chef who looks after his customers. To the extent of coming out of the kitchen with a rolling-pin during a riot , even. And the chef in charge here, Brett Graham, is a star. Â What is it about Aussie chefs? Â Caravan, Granger & Co and now this. And I wasnât even trying. Tip: if you want to get a reservation, go and see them. Not only were we happy because Graham attains extraordinary combinations of flavours while avoiding any infantile ostentation of techniques and âmolecularityâ- the technique is all there, but it is at the service of the dish, itâs behind it, itâs not the dish: this is what we call mature cooking (in this, we were reminded of L20 in Chicago). We were happy also because this is 2* Michelin eating for the modern era: what a satisfaction to eat in a place whose every aspect, from service to cuisine, is at the pinnacle and yet does not subject you to tedious formalisms, conventions, obligations: hurray!

This two michelin star Notting Hill restaurant was an absolutely contemplative experience and worthy culinary highlight... soft like tofu â sings a melodious rhapsody alongside the creamy truffle toast, which is practically drenched in deep truffle flavour...
Wow-What a disappointment!. After arriving in London on a long flight from Australia a 9.30pm Monday night reservation seemed a bit late. My call to inquire about an earlier table was greeted, and kid you not, by a firm and commanding Non! Was I in London or Paris? Oh well the food I am told is to die for and tied or not a trip across London was not going to stop me. Why did I bother? Reading the reviews one has to wonder whether they are real and whether the Michelin organization is on the payroll. Seating was Bistro style, nice and close, even to the point where our :neighbor "helped us order". I'm sorry guys-too many tables. Service was average and very french with the attitude to go with it but then again our waiter looked like she was about 12. The Food was the biggest disappointment. My wife's main of pigeon seemed like a crime scene. Complete chaos with lots of red. They "forgot' to cook my mackerel and my wife's dessert looked like an over sized deli matchstick and I'm told tasted like one also. At this stage I gave dessert a miss! This seemed like a Maddoff moment to me and if asked whether I would go back my answer would be NON!

So, final thoughts (I feel like Jerry Springer). The Ledbury is clearly a fantastic restaurant, but given all the awards and fuss I expected a little more originality in some of the combinations. I thought I'd be wowed with every mouthful, like I have been in some places (like at Arzak in San Sebastien, or the first time we ate at Tetsuya's in Sydney). Don't get me wrong, I thought the meal was great, but not consistently so, and for 105 pounds, I think you should be close to doing a Meg Ryan. I'd return, but probably go a la carte next time and go mainly for the seafood dishes.

Every single dish was well-balanced, every combination well thought out, every plate beautifully presented and perfectly executed; there was not one false move. This was polished, assured, accomplished cooking of the highest calibre. The Ledbury and its Australian-born head chef richly deserves every accolade it has received. Quite simply one of the finest dining experiences in the capital.

Outstanding memorable meal. The Ledbury had been on my list for a while... I needed a special occasion to go there and chose it to propose to my gf. It did not disappoint and we enjoyed one of the finest meals I think I have ever had, worldwide. ÂŁ75/ head or ÂŁ150 per head for the tasting menu. Service beyond exceptional with almost a 1:2 staff:diner ratio the service was outstanding and not at all pretentious either with friendly (and clearly very knowledgeable) staff. Top Marks!

The flame grilled mackerel had such a pure taste which was complimented further with the dressing of Celtic mustard and shiso, another clean pocket of flavour came from the parcel of smoked eel with translucent pickled cucumber skin.

We walked into the calm atmosphere of The Ledbury on a lovely sunny summers day in London (in which there are few and far between!). We could not tell that it was in fact the day after the restaurant had fallen victim to the rioters. It had not, it seemed, deterred our fellow patrons. The staff were welcoming, and the restaurant was almost full. It did not deter us either â thankfully! Otherwise we wouldâve missed out on one of the best meals and overall dining experiences weâve ever had.

Antipodean cool. The Ledbury has been on my list for donkey's but have had to keep cancelling...but I finally crossed the threshold into its elegant but relaxed room. It was a beautiful day and the French windows were opened onto the street which may have helped make it feel a little more informal than, say, its sibling the Square or even Launceston Place. Not to mention the predominantly Antipodean staff and diners, drawn like moths to Brett's Aussie flame. Not that I'm suggesting the whole continent is chillaxed. Perish the thought...<br/><br/>The staff were numerous, polite, chatty and very well informed. They were just, well, a little SLOW. Maybe that's the Aussie thing again. Our drinks (water, tonic and bubbly) took 15 minutes to arrive, and the place was only half full. Bread another 10. We had to grab someone to order food and again wine. But then things picked up.<br/><br/>We'd chosen a Pouilly Fuisse but the sommelier came to say it was oaked, if we didn't want that he could recommend a Chablis which was cheaper...very nice it was too. Domaine Oudin 2008 - petrol, flint, grass, nice.<br/><br/>We went for the great value set lunch (ÂŁ27.50 for two courses, ÂŁ33.50 for three - this is 2* Michelin!). Starter was a 'risotto' of diced new potatoes with trompettes, parmesan crunch, shaved summer truffles and a truffle foam. Absolutely gorgeous - earthy yet light, and wipe the plate with bread good.<br/><br/>Main for me was a deboned skate wing in brown butter with a generous garnish of winkles, cauliflower including a cauliflower crunch with pinenuts, sauted in sake and sherry and with little jellied spheres of sake. All beautifully cooked but maybe a little mild in flavour?<br/><br/>Himself had middlewhite with black pudding in a spiced cream - belly rolled round the pudding, a little sweetbreads cake, two slices of 'jowl' (not the most appetising description) and some strips of shoulder. He made the better choice...<br/><br/>Then cheese to finish. Really good and well kept selection; the brie was primordial ooze and I had an extraordinary goats' cheese that tasted of when I used to help a local farmer bottlefeed orphaned lambs...having never bottlefed kids am sure it would have smelt and tasted of their milky breath too!<br/><br/>Petits fours were a raspberry jelly, a hazelnut cream biscuit and a dark chocolate with salted caramel. Coffee was a little watery, but hey.<br/><br/>Staff let us sit for a good 4 hours so it was almost time for the evening service when we left, but never felt hurried. They're charmingly frank - I asked whether Brett was still in the kitchen to be told 'he's just gone down the pub for a "meeting"..'<br/><br/>Love it.

Best restaurant in London with best matched wine ever. This was an unbelievably good lunch and was certainly the best meal we've eaten in London. It's on a par with the Fat Duck, Chez Panisse, Noma, and Tetsuya's i.e. absolutely superb. We opted for the tasting menu with matched wine. The wine matching was better than any other meal we've ever had. It was as if a real physical bridge existed between each dish and the corresponding wine. The service was good and the interior had a really classy but unfussy feel. Our only complaint was that there was a little too much food, especially the monkfish dish. Otherwise, this was world class dining, and about a million times better than the moribund purveyors of French haute cuisine like the Waterside Inn, French Laundry, Jules Vernes, Square, Sketch etc.

The trouble with sparkling reviews, high prices and michelin stars, is that the restaurant is really going to have to knock your socks off to impress you. The Ledbury is an absolutely lovely place and the lunch menu isn't bad value for this quality of restaurant. The truffle toast to accompany my starter was absolutely divine, and the rest of my meal... hang on.... I seem to have already forgotten what I ate, and it was only last week. I'm sure it was great though. <br/>Service was friendly and helpful and the sommelier made great recommendations for wines by the glass. <br/>In all, I'm not going to rush back - I'd rather keep it simpler and save my pennies - but if someone were to offer to take me then I'd very happily return!

Service not 2*. Having heard so much about the Ledbury it was disapointing to find that the service was not even up to one star. The sommelier could not even describe the wine to us ,dribbleld it while serving it, crossed over to serve the wine. In general service was amerteurish, sometimes served from the wrong side. The food accomplished but not outstanding. Our sitting was at 2.30 for lunch it looked that the staff were tired. I think they are to greedy by fitting in so many sittings

Sublime experience. Wow .Birthday dinner at the Ledbury . Where do I start ....<br/>Great dining room with wonderfully attentive staff. The atmosphere is warm and unstuffy and the food is just divine. I started with the flame grilled mackerel which was just perfect with a delicate balance of flavours. Followed by Cod with Winter vegetables and a Parmesan Gnocchi the best I have ever tasted. The dessert a Chocolate Pave with Chocolate Malt ice cream was fantastic. My husband and daughter raved about all their dishes. at ÂŁ70.00 for 3 courses not cheap but soo worth it and the wine list is extensive and reasonably priced.<br/>We will be coming back

So why would you go for a tasting menu at a Michelin-starred restaurant? I've asked myself this a couple of times, usually around they time they bring the mindnumbingly-expensive bill (about the same as you'd pay for a new bike , or a full head of highlights and a cut TWICE, or an iPhone 4). Or when I feel so full of food and wine I feel uncomfortable, can't sleep. The amuse bouches - foie gras on a ginger biscuit and an exceptionally posh Scotch egg type thing that made me giggle⊠So why do I keep doing it? Because it's bloody brilliant, that's why. It's silly and disgustingly overindulgent . You aren't a regular customer of the restaurant who is on a normal night out that they can easily afford, eating their way through the a la carte menu one meal at a time. You aren't rich or nonchalant or used to eating like this. You are a mysterious giggly stranger , a normal person wanting to experience something you'll remember for years to come, dipping your toe in and tasting it's delights

It's like the best fried chicken you've ever had. Except it's not chicken, it's rabbit. Each piece is skewered, then nestled in a greenery, like it fell and got caught in a shrub, where it's waiting for you to discover it.

A special occasion meal in 2010, the venue surely a no brainer. The Ledbury , awarded 2 stars in Michelin's annual guide, was raved about by everyone who dined there. I was beyond excited it goes without saying. We decided to go for the tasting menu and rather than babble on about each dish I'll keep it brief as I'm sure by now most people are aware that Brett Graham and his team are dishing up some of the most consistent and exciting food in the city at the moment. To begin, bread, a choice of three, I tried each throughout the evening, bacon and onion, chestnut and wholemeal. A canape, fois gras parfait then the amuse bouche, deep fried quails egg on a chestnut puree with truffle shavings. Next up was the now legendary scallop ceviche with kohlrabi and horseradish 'snow'. Followed by the signature dish flame grilled mackerel with cucumber, mustard and shiso. A fine dish, perfectly representative of Graham's adventurous use of ingredients and exemplary cooking skills. Perhaps the bigg
