Great food!! Some of the best indian we've ever had. Not greasy or heavy and everything tasted fresh and flavourful. Will deffinately be back.
Ate here after seeing great TA reviews & staying nearby at the Novotel. The food & service was just the best. Mixed starter followed by Mango chicken & chicken madras were exceptional. Tasty, moist chicken in both dishes and a twist in the Peshwari naan. Prices are so cheap for London or any city and the fact you can take your own wine just makes it the best value for money. Even managed to eat outside which was great.
Staff are very very nice. Good humour and keen to make it a great experience for you. Can highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Thanks too for the pudd and the pen!
My friend and I live locally to this Indian. We visit about once a month and are never disappointed.
The food is excellent quality, plates hot, service is great. The restaurant is cosy, I recommend you book. Although if you do just drop by, they will do their best to accommodate you.
IMPORTANT: Its bring your own alcohol. They do not sell any alcohol here, but you can bring your own. There is a Sainsburys local, Tesco local and mini Waitrose all within 5 mins walk that have chilled beer.
Incredibly good value, It's a must visit for a curry if you are in the area.
We have been a regular customer at this place from few months. And we never are never disappointed. Menu is so great; you have a lot of choice. As visiting this place with a family and all of us order different items, I have tasted many of them and found each one it amazing. This place has a great value for money. My personal favorites are their traditional classic curry’s. They are just amazing. Must try. I would definitely recommend this place.
Possibly the most friendly staff of any restaurant I have ever been to. The food was incredible and served promptly. I know if I actually lived near here I would be a frequent customer.
We were staying in earl's court for 5 days and were looking for an Indian restaurant nearby. The urbanspoon app showed us Indian Express. On a Friday night on Easter holidays we were alone. Great service, the menu is huge and the prices low. The food is fresh, cooked on demand: everything was excellent, tasty: lamb in coconut milk, cheese naan, king prawn... My best Indian restaurant so far! It's suggested to make a reservation on Friday and Saturday nights as the place is small and the restaurant well known.
Hidden Jewel. To your average passer-by, Indian Express’s location and pared-down interiors mark it out as just another curry house. But for those in the know, its superb take on Indian food is worth a trek across town – the kitchen really knows its stuff. The menu is extensive and innovative with some dishes we had never heard of before and those after a traditional curry will have their needs answered in style. A small team spearheaded by the ever smiling owner, Rocky, seal the deal at this ‘hidden jewel'. Indian Express has a winning combination - attention to guests combined with delicious food. And you can take your own drinks. We’ll definitely be back for more!
Best Indian restaurant by far. I have been going to Indian Express since the first week I began living in Baron's Court, way back in 2007, albeit on different premises to where they currently are.
I was greeted by the incredibly friendly owner, Raqib, also known as Rocky, who immediately asked my name and recalled it the next time. Since then, I collect food there weekly without fail. I have introduced many friends to his restaurant, and every one has gone back repeatedly for more.
All he wants is for his customers to be his friends and to serve the most amazing, delicious, fresh and carefully-prepared food for those friends. Nothing is over-priced, and to get this quality of food at such a reasonable price makes the experience so much better!
I highly recommend this restaurant. I have travelled the world and never eaten such amazing curry. Try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
My all-time favourite local Indian. The three key things I look for when eating out or ordering a takeaway are top quality food, excellent customer service and value for money - Indian Express exceeds my expectations in all of these elements.
Starting with the food, the quality of ingredients is top-notch, the flavours are spot-on and the dishes are great for those who are a a bit more health conscious as they don't come heavily laden with oil or ghee as in many other Indian Restaurants and Takeaways. I would personally recommend the Special Lamb Sagwala that uses a careful blend of spices and the Tandoori Lamb Chops that are beautifully marinated and succulent.
Secondly, the customer service is second to none. The owner is friendly, passionate about the food he serves and always willing to share his expertise in the cuisine.
Finally, the value for money you will get at Indian Express is unbeatable.
All in all, I give Indian Express a 10/10! They are most definitely my all-time favourite Indian.
Go!!!!. Produces some of the best Indian food in London!
Having gone to Brilliant in Southall (voted for Ramseys best restaurants) and various others it is still all about - Indian Express. There is nothing that rivals some of Express's signature dishes -
SPECIAL LAMB SAGWALA
GARLIC GREEN CHICKEN CHILL,
CHICKEN OR LAMB TAWA.
The manager sticks to what he knows no interest in becoming another Bombay Bicycle with central kitchens mass producing average curries!
The restaurant and its decor isn't going to set your world a light but look at the menu and its prices!
James
One of the best Indian restaurants I've tried so far!
Don't be fooled by the façade, inside lies a golden nugget. A small, intimate room, friendly staff, delicious dishes and generous portions!
Best indian food in London! The pumpkin lamb is simply marvellous. The service is perfect and Rocky will tell you the passion and the hard work they put into their dishes! Definitely will see you soon.
Indian Express was such a wonderful experience. We were a party of three we tried their meat and veggie dishes, all of which were delicious, and at fantastic price.
The staff was super polite and helpful. We asked for a complicated credit card division of the bill and they did not have any issues with it.
I truly recommend their Garlic Green Chicken Chilli.
An incredible meal. We found all the way from Australia based on reviews and was not disappointed - loved the food and hospitality. Small and intimate and incredible flavours
Quaint mom and pop Indian restaurant. I had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant. Great flavors and fresh tastes. Not too spicy. The dal was a little bland and I would not order it again. The saag paneer and curry green chicken were excellent!! I like that you can order the veg dishes as sides instead of mains. One of the best pets, it is BYOB so stop by the Qwickie Mart before heading in!
I went there twice during my Vacation in London. Going twice meant I enjoyed the first time. The restaurant is small and cozy with options to seat outside incase you want to enjoy the fresh air. The food is nice and the owner is nice too!
Came here, because I was looking for a genuine Indian Restaurant whilst visiting London. Well, I was blown away, I accidentally found the exact spot I was looking for! The Restaurant itself is quite small, but nicely furnished and decorated, and very busy on a Sunday night, in addition to the guests in the restaurant a lot of people come by for take away - and I know why:
Great lord this is good. The dishes are so well cooked (the naan bread is out of this world), we were recommended to try a tray with different Chutneys - amazing - and the service was nice. The hotness of the dishes are adjusted to Western standards, so mild means mild and hot means hot.
If I would not have planned my other nights in London already I would come again to try something else.
Really friendly family run business that’s been around for a long time but we just found it! Excellent tasting food and service was welcoming. Definitely our new curry house which we’ve been struggling to find for some time
I have to echo the other reviews here, some of the best Indian food I've had in a long time! As good as any curry I had in India. I had the Chicken Tawa, it was a perfect balance of flavour and heat for me. Will absolutely eat here again the next time I'm in the area. Thank you Rocky and your talented chefs!
Absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was amazing and the service was excellent! It’s one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been too. Will definitely come back !
