It’s a cosy space that smells good, and they handled it beautifully on learning one of us needed to catch a train a little sooner than is ideal and another with allergy issues. Tasty food, good service and fast enough that I caught that train.

Also lovely to watch the skilful knifework behind the counter.

There's plenty of selection in this area for great Turkish food but if you absolutely need "Et Beyti Yogurtlu" (a Beyti kebab wrapped in lavash bread served in a yoghurt sauce) then this is the only place you should go. The Beyti itself is well spiced and tender. And the whole combo is accompanied by a selection of salads. Miso satisfied.

Excellent. This is definitely my favorite Turkish in London. been to many. The lamb chops are amazing as are the mixed mezes. Nice friendly service as well. Definitely recommend. BYOB but £5 per corkage - might as well buy one from the menu.

We each got a mixed grill for one, which comes with three different salads, plus a basket of bread, which they replenished even before we’d come close to finishing the first. This was utterly delicious. Light, slightly greasy and seemed to be lightly spiced as well. Even when I couldn't fit in all the meat I still managed to squeeze in a few more pieces of bread.

On the one hand, this is going to be yet another blog post about a fantastic, ludicrously cheap Ocakbasi grill, and to that end, I apologise if it feels like you've heard it all before. Londoners are spoiled for decent Turkish restaurants in a way that almost no other cuisine can manage - some are better than others, of course, and I imagine it is at least theoretically possible to have a bad Turkish if you try hard enough, but there are just so many good ones scattered around certain areas of Dalston and Shoreditch that you'd have to be very unlucky to come away disappointed. In one tiny stretch of the Stoke Newington Road there is the brilliant and ever popular Mangal 2 , the unpronounceable but apparently very highly regarded Istanbul Iskembecisi, and the cryptically titled 19 Numara Bos Cirrik I, where I spent a thoroughly enjoyable Monday evening. You know there is some real talent in a kitchen when even something as straightforward as house hummus draws gasps of approval. It was,

While I was in the States, Stephen and his friend Nick went in search of some Turkish food in Dalston. They apparently had a specific place in mind but it was no longer there and instead they ended up somewhere else, in Stoke Newington, the name of which Stephen could not remember, but he raved about it. There was so much meat! So many salads! A huge grill at the back! And it was on a corner. I definitely wanted to try this place. And on Friday I decided I was in the mood for some Turkish.

We headed up to Dalston and walked from Dalston Junction up. Stephen was sure this place was on a corner, but we could not see anything that fit his memory of it. I noticed Cirrik as we walked by, because since coming back from the States, I’d heard from a couple of sources that it was a really good place. I clocked it, and thought, if we don’t find the place Stephen knows, maybe we can go there instead. But it wasn’t busy at all, so I wasn’t if it was the same Cirrik I’d heard of. Especially as further up there was another one, albeit closed.

We got practically all the way to Stoke Newington, Church Street without seeing the place we sought. Dejected and disheartened, I suggested we try Mangal Ocakbasi instead, and we did the same journey in reverse. Only this time when we passed Cirrik, there were several people inside, and the grill at the back was aflame. This is it! Stephen announced. Not on a corner at all, which is why it had been tricky to find, but it was the same in every other detail, and I was rather pleased that Stephen’s place turned out to be somewhere I had kind of wanted to try anyway.

Well, the meal did not disappoint. My only regret was that I couldn’t finish it! We ordered the same meal that Stephen and Nick had had before, with Stephen warning me not to bother with a starter because there would be so much food.

We could see the chef cooking our meat on the grill behind us and it arrived all stacked on a plate of rice on top of very thin bread, which soaked up all the meat juices. It was all fantastic, but I especially liked the little lamb ribs – a little crunchy and charred on the edges, with amazing flavour. But I also had adana kebabs (minced lamb), chicken sis kebab and cop sis - cubes of marinated lamb. And so much of it, as I said, I couldn’t finish it and just concentrated on my favourites.

As much as I loved the meat, the salads deserve a mention as well. You are served three different kinds, and if you don’t like onions you’re out of luck. The first is large chunks of grilled onions with parsley and sweet pomegranite juice. The second are thins strips of onion covered with spices, I preferred this savoury salad. And the last is a fresh green, tomato and pickled cabbage salad again with lots of parsley. They were refreshing and exactly what you needed to cut through the heaviness of the meat. All this was only £13.50.

Also, top marks for seating us on the edge of an empty table. The restaurant is a bit communal, and you may end up sitting next to people you don't know, but whereas with other restaurants like this, I find they try to herd everyone to the same table, no matter how few customers there are, here were were given as much space as possible.

I'll be back.

We walked around the neighborhood and wanted a nice early dinner and found this wonderful restaurant! Great vibes and extremely friendly staff with great service. We ordered two cocktails, the daily soup, salad, and garlic prawns (all so delicious)!! Cocktails were delicious, I asked for a recommendation and the bartender was so nice and accommodating.

Wow! It was worth the trip to eat this food. Best lamb chops I’ve ever eaten. They are marinated overnight and perfectly grilled on a charcoal stove. The restaurant is owed and operated by a husband and wife chef team who opened the restaurant 20 years ago. They recently remodeled and have a decent wine list - I had the Musar Hochar for £65 - so this is a place you could go on a date, with coworkers or in my case, I went by myself and it was totally worth it. I started with a roasted eggplant with yogurt dish which I highly recommend. The grilled onion salad was also worth trying. The onions have been marinated before they are grilled which magically takes away all of the harshness that you would expect. All of the sauces and marinades are made in house. The lamb is halal and comes from a local English farm.

Visited last night for an intimate birthday meal, and I couldn't be more pleased with the evening. The food was delicious and the people were lovely. The price was only slightly higher than the local cheap options, but for the quality it is very much worth it- and was still extremely affordable especially for larger groups when sharing. I can't wait to come back again

I just love authentic family run restaurants where they care about the food, the ambience and the service, and Cirrick was a big tick in every box. Fried veg and courgette patties to start were delicious. Lamb ribs and kebabs with fresh tasty salad and sweet baked onion in pomegranite and sumax dressing, with flat bread were so full of flavour. Arm twisted gently to try baklava for dessert which crowned the meal. Lovely people and great food. Who needs more?

Great service that will make you feel a valued guest; food is healthy and decent, sigara boregi fell flat and may benefit from more herbs like mint. 2-4-1 offer on cocktails/mocktails every day from 17.00 to 20.00

Food was delicious, the chicken main was very tasty. 2 for 1 cocktails were all good. The side of chips was cooked to perfection too. Very friendly staff who were happy to make food recommendations. Atmosphere was lovely with relaxing music and setting. Ideal for a Thursday night when we wanted something chilled.

We are at Cirrik regularly when we lived locally - it was the best in town, hands down. I took a trip down Memory Lane tonight and it was an evening of pure joy - the food is as good if not better than ever, the restaurant has had an amazing refurb and I’m so happy to see it still thriving - ten years on from my last visit! Still the best in town, hands down
