Chose this place because of Urban spoon and was very happy. Don't let the dingy lighting fool you. We had padadums, 2 servings of onion bahji, we had a meat seat menu, and dessert, all for about 50 quid. And they even have us free shots!! Worth a visit!!!
Great Choice on Brick Lane. Visiting Brick Lane can be a bit intimidating when choosing among the multitude of restaurants. Many people like to refer to this area as Indian, but the reality is that it is Bangladeshi and there is a difference. We chose Monsoon as it had good reviews from several sources and we were not disappointed. The service was attentive and interested. The menu varied with standard Indian offerings and specialties from Bangladesh. We had two curries and two side dishes. All were superb and generously served. Overall experience was excellent and I would rate Monsoon as a "come backer" for me anytime.
I chose this because of Urban Spoon, and it was a great choice. The service was fantastic, the food was spectacular. A great choice. I highly recommend this place.
Good curry. Great prices.. The promise of a great curry on Brick Lane brought us to Monsoon. The friendly service and very fair prices (great lunch special - appetizer, main course, rice/naan/beverage for £10) contributed to a nice, filling meal.
Good food - great service - great prices. Went to Monsson the other week with some friends, arrived early and got great treatment including an early bird discount plus first beers or wine free.
Had a really excellent meal with loads of nice extras and good humour from the staff who seemed ready to assist at all times.
Definitely on my list for a return visit.
We approached The Monsoon, said a friendly hello, and indicated that we just wanted to peruse the menu at first. At this point, being in England, we imagined the prices were set in stone, and we were pretty set on The Monsoon; but I personally don’t like to dine at places with hecklers unless there’s an advantage to them being there besides harrassment (i.e. deal
Next we tried the pakora dal, a chickpea dish that was very thick and mildly spicy, the aloo gobi made of cauliflower and potatoes was solid, spicy and hearty, while the saag aloo, a potato and spinach dish was a nice reprieve from all the other spicy dishes.
The spicy samosas were great, and so was the rest of the food! Honestly great to have some authentic Indian food in the heart of London. Portions were great too!
Service was good, they gave us extra things too without us asking which was nice of them. 😅
Happy to recommend and hopefully gonna come back again.
Also happy they were open til LATE for us haha.
The staff lovely, the food was good. Feels homely. More authentic then top restaurant. I like that.
Was amazing customer service as staff are very attentive and food was decent. They went above and beyond by fulfilling our requests as we asked for chillis and chilli flakes which they didn't have however they fried some dry chillis which is even better. One of the elderly staff was soo kind he offered us free desi tea on the house which was very nice. Thanks guys keep up the amazing work.
Would recommend! Great food, great service, reasonable prices for Brick Lane! In particular, the naan bread was one of the best I've had 10/10!
This is consistently the best Indian restaurant in Brick Lane. My favourite for many many years. This week I had an excellent meat thali and a lovely cold pint of draft Cobra. I love the welcoming friendly service and relaxed atmosphere at this restaurant. Highly recommended.

I visited the Monsoon restaurant this afternoon and I had a truly wonderful experience. The food was exceptionally tasty, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. I particularly enjoyed the chicken jalfrezi, it was bursting with flavour and just the right amount of heat.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The chicken tikka masala at The Monsoon is a culinary delight. The dish is crafted with care, featuring tender chicken in a flavorful blend of spices and a creamy tomato-based gravy. The quality of the dish is exceptional, leaving taste buds satisfied and craving for more. The staff at The Monsoon is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant's lovely atmosphere adds to the charm, creating a cozy and inviting setting. For a truly enjoyable meal, The Monsoon's chicken tikka masala is a must-try. G is cool
The food was amazing! Nayan also recommended delicious dishes! We'll come back!
Highly recommend Monsoon. Ash was a fantastic waiter, so helpful with our toddler and so so kind. Everyone was highly accommodating for push/high chairs, the food was fantastic and decent price! Would definitely come back. Thank you Ash and everyone at Monsoon!
A fabulous evening in one of Brick Lanes finest restaurants. The super friendly staff make you feel very welcome, talk you through the menu and serve up very tasty food. There are so many options to choose from with lots suitable for vegetarians. Pricing is really competitive too.
We went to The Monsoon on a Sunday for lunch. We were greated and felt welcomed. We had 4 starters and 4 mains to share. The food arrived promptly. Every single item was delicious and the portions were big. Reasonable prices too and excellent service. We will surely come back soon.
The Monsoon really stands out for its great food. It was recommended to us by a regular, and I can see why. Everything we had was delicious. The staff are excellent and it has a lively atmosphere. What more could you want on a night out?
We went to the Monsoon as a big group (25) for our last evening of a school trip to London. They organised it really well and the service and food was excellent! Ash was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. I can highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
The food was very wide ranging, including traditional Bangladeshi dishes.
I was in a party of about 30 and the service was quick, polite and efficient.
The restaurant struck me as spacious so if you could be well away from other groups and hear yourself speak.
Nothing was too much trouble.
I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.
Service was exceptional, so friendly and welcoming, food was good, I had a chicken madras which was more spice than flavour but I would visit again..
I had a very nice Chop Pioti here, flavoursome, with chick peas, potatoes & egg. Their chicken balti wasn't top notch, too saucy & lacking that killer edge.
I cannot overstate the excellence and warmth of the staff and food at the monsoon. Some of the most delicious Bangladeshi food I've had coupled with amazing staff who were respectful, timely and great conversation, served up fantastic food and even brought my hat out to me quickly after I'd forgot it. 10/10 don't waste your time somewhere else
This place is the best!! The best service and in my opinion the best Indian food in London. Their naan is the next level. We got coco rice which really elevated the meal!!
The service is so kind and truly the best experience!!
