We had a good meal at Tower Tandori, everything about it was nicely done. The food was good and the waiting staff were courteous. The decor is also quite classy which I enjoyed. The only thing I would say is that the price means that overall you would expect the food and service to be as good as it was - a meal with a couple of beers came to about £30 each which felt a bit steep compared to other restaurants in Brockley or East London. So while this is a good restaurant, I'd say it only offers acceptable value
Walking distance from london bridge station, this is one of the more authentic Indian restaurant in london. The food is amazing and they have kingfisher. A little bit expensive. But would go again.
The food was outstanding and the service from Amit was great. He was friendly and suggested us the best food he had. We ate well and i definitely recommend to you the lamb rack. To sum up, if you want to eat great indian food in London, you found your place.
Late night food coma was graciously provided by Amit. Great store, have to rate online web but worth every star. Superb and attentive service. I've been to India and it's quite authentic. Even this delecious beer.
Been coming here for a good few years now, just had a meal with my girlfriend and as always the service is very good and the staff are polite and helpful, I definitely recommend anyone in the area to visit this restaurant, it’s a little bit more pricey than most restaurants but it’s worth it for the quality of food and the dessert (coconut dumplings) are amazing
Come here for the makhani and it never fails to disappoint!!! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was amazing. The toilets were really clean and spacious.
We visited Tower Tandoori as a group of 15 people. They had no problems seating us comfortably and provided a swift service. Great variety and we all received our food at the same time. A special thank you to Sam and Emon for their exceptional customer service. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Tower Bridge / Bermondsey area.
I have visted this restaurant on Monday with my friends. We were greeted by the lovely and friendly staff.
The food was very tasty and delicious and decently priced.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return very soon.
Have never had a bad meal at this restaurant having visited a number of times ... it is probably one of the best Indian restaurants in London in my opinion. Staff are friendly and the food is always brilliant. #bestindianrestaurant #indianrestaurant #bermondsey
Now living in Spain and just returned from a lovely trip to London. Was great to return after nearly 10 years and it bought back some wonderful memories! We visited Tower Tandoori in Tower Bridge on a Wednesday night…I had actually been here before as I lived in Wapping nearby! The decor has changed but the place still looks very pleasant. The staff and owners were very friendly and when they heard I had returned after so long, they went out of their way to ensure I had a memorable evening. Even though they were fairly busy, the staff would keep an eye on my table to ensure everything was ok. In the end, the chef came out to greet us, which was a lovely touch. He told us how he cooks his makani sauce, which I really enjoyed. I recommend this place highly and will definitely return, hopefully won’t be 10 years this time!!
Ate here on my 18th bday, 13th March 2009 with a friend. Night had gone wrong and found this by accident. Cute restaurant, nice food and staff. Enjoyed it
My colleagues and I have been meaning to visit this restaurant for some time now as we work nearby in long lane. We finally had the chance on monday evening.
After work we took a leisurely stroll down to Tower Bridge Road and upon arrival we were greeted with enthusiasm by 2 waiters dressed in smart red jackets and another chap who looked like the manager. Our coats were politely taken from us and we were seated at a table near the window.
A few minutes later a waiter came to take our drinks orders and the obligatory popadom order. The popadoms arrived nice and crisp and the dips tasted fresh and homemade.
After a little while the manager came to take our order, we decided not to opt for starters on this occasion. I chose a Tandoori King Prawn in mint and dill sauce, which was advertised outside. My colleagues chose Thali's and a classic Chicken Korma. The chap taking our order was very informative but not too pushy, he could have easily made us order side dishes, condiments, etc. He explained that if we needed to order extra items we could do so later. This would prevent us from over ordering. Why can't all restaurant managers be like this?!
While our food was being prepared the manager persuaded us to play a game of "Carrom" with him. He even taught us how to play it and got another waiter involved to help. We then returned to our table as our food was ready to be served. The Chef personally came out to serve us our food and he invited us to visit his kitchen to watch him use the Tandoor! We didnt take him up on his offer this time but promised to do so next time. As expected the food was nothing but perfect, I vowed that I would try a Thali next time round because it was so nicely presented. My King Prawn dish was not over bearingly minty but carefully spiced and this can be said about all the other dishes as well. Even the rice and naans were light and well presented. After finishing our meals, two of us opted for Milk Chai upon a waiters recommendation. They arrived promptly and as requested they were not too sweet.
Overall, our night out was good value for money, we were treated to a beautiful meal and the staff took very good care of us. On the downside Tower Tandoori has set the bar so high that we will have very very high expectations every time we visit. Nonetheless, it is no wonder this restaurant has been there for so long and so busy for a monday night.
The last time I visted tower tandoori, was a very long time ago.
Gone are the traditional booths, red carpet and the water feature. The restaurant is welcoming and a modern dining room is tastefully decorated with a bohemian feel.
The food is not the usual curry house fair but not to modern to put you off. My dish a keralan coastal cod special aptly described by the waiter was everything I could have hoped for. Well presented in a banana leaf boat with a cone of lemon rice, I was pleasantly surprised.
Even though I was dining on my own, I was made to feel welcome and no doubt I will be returning next month when I visit the area again.
Came here recently with my husband and was not disappointed one bit! The service was friendly, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was spot on! I would definately recommend this Indian restaurant! :)
A very good curry house with a large selection. Friendly & reasonably priced.
Delicious food, unique wide-ranging menu and great service.
The place is good and we were served quickly. The food is good although it is not much quantity. The waiters were nice and served us well, but it was strange that when it was time to pay we could hardly see the bill.
Fine dining but at an affordable price, plenty of seating options, and evenings are often busy. Mr Ali, our server, was extremely helpful and cheerful. Ali took the initiative to inspect the table for any needs. The crew provided truly exceptional service. Thank you for preparing food for us, Chefs.
A very well designed Mughal-themed Indian restaurant. The food here is spot on and the atmosphere is fantastic! The restaurant's decor is stunning, with intricate details. The dishes are flavorful and authentic, especially the Lamb Shank and Biryani. The restaurant is located a few minutes away from Tower bridge in a great spot. The staff are very friendly. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend it!
Sultan was extremely accommodating and wonderful waiter. We had an amazing assortment from the menu. We had two people in our party who never had Indian food before and this the best Indian food I've had so it was great be able to share delicious food with them. The butter chicken and palek paneer were our favourites with the biryani and somasas were a close second. We'll be back for more.
Oh my review didn't post fully the other day! My son and I enjoyed it very much, the food was delicious, our server Sultan was a delight and the whole staff very professional and friendly. Definitely I highly recommend it!!
Went on a New Year’s Eve, and so there’s only a fixed course meal menu. We tired a two course meal. Starters were good, curries were decent and not too spicy. But the portions are less given high prices.
Overall, a positive experience.
Love tower tandoori! My boyfriend and I come here a lot because the food is amazing, and the staff (especially Sultan) are so friendly and cannot do enough to make your experience very special. The restaurant itself is immaculately clean. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the tower bridge/ London Bridge and Bermondsey area. Must try the mix grill! Mutton rogan Josh, smoky lamb chops and butter chicken also amazing.
Great Indian restaurant with very friendly staff. Select number of items on the menu but what they have is really, really good! We even ordered seconds.. Not the cheapest, but definitely worth the money! Good choice for a romantic night out.
Absolutely fantastic Indian food. Some classic comforting dishes and some lesser known dishes. Medium spice can be a bit spicier than you think but I must say that it’s the type of spice that makes you want to eat more and more. Do get the lime rice, it’s fantastic. The staff was friendly and nice, a little slow with the check tho.
Great experience and food was delicious, recommend to try it.
