One of the most beautiful hotels in Europe. Their tea time is absolutely the classiest place you can have it. Very classy people. The scones are to die for along with everything else they serve. It is usually fully booked so make sure to make a reservation !
I would rate it higher, but sadly because of the waiter’s unprofessionalism we have been charged twice, as he thought the machine rejected the card for the first time. We got an apology from the management who confirmed that indeed the money has been taken from the account twice, but its been more than 2 weeks and we still didnt get a refund.
The service is as you would expect from a classy hotel with heritage. The food was delectable and despite the small servings, you end up still quite satisfied. The selections of tea were amazing although having to pay extra for premium teas seemed a bit much after spending the amount of money that this place charges! We didn't want to ask for a doggy bag for the leftovers but it was offered to us.
Overall a beautiful and traditional setting with pampered service to match. A short walk from beautiful Hyde Park.
I was a little slow on the ‘advance booking’ of Mother’s Day celebrations this year, so despite trying to find a suitably fitting option to celebrate my favourite lady two weeks before the big day, I was coming up empty. Instead of settling I booked us in for a belated treat of afternoon tea at the Dorchester last Sunday. After all, Mother’s Day is every day!

Seeing as we were in London, I made reservations at The Dorchester for Afternoon tea since I couldn’t be in the UK and NOT have high tea (how crazy!). We got there a tad early (15 minutes isn’t THAT early…) and waited for our table to be ready. The promenade was so beautiful and you feel like a princess once you enter. Our table was ready and off we went on our high tea adventure.
I had heard that many people’s favorite spot for traditional afternoon tea in London is the iconic Dorchester Hotel, so naturally this was my first choice when trying it out for the first time last week. Walking in to the hotel, there is an area above the entrance called “the balcony” which is where you are seated if you choose the vintage afternoon tea. To me that area looked slightly dull so I was very pleased when the receptionist pointed the way to the promenade – a beautiful long restaurant with stunning interior.

Afternoon tea at the Dorchester is an incredibly unique and wonderful experience. Sat in one of London's oldest and most classically beautiful hotel lobby's, you are whisked away from reality and treated like royalty for a few hours. The service was absolutely spot on, the pianist so wonderful and, of course, the sandwiches tasty, the scones delicious and the cakes even better! The scones are always my favourite part of afternoon tea and these, alongside the homemade clotted cream and jams, did not disappoint. I treated my mum to a bottle of bubbly which cranked up the bill a lot but otherwise £49 per person for the afternoon tea menu is extremely good value, in my opinion. Many of my friends would vote Dorchester hotel as their favourite spot for an elegant afternoon tea. Especially during the festive christmas season, watching the beautiful christmas decorations glowing in the grand hotel lobby while enjoying a cup of Dorchester blend.
The food is always delicious and the service fantastic I love the Dorchester it's so luxurious beautiful place to sit for afternoon tea and in the evening have a drink at the bar while someone plays the piano.
The Dorchester Hotel is one of London's most iconic hotels which is set on the prestigious Park Lane.
The award-winning afternoon tea begins with chilled Laurent-Perrier NV Champagne and an abundance of sandwiches. Sandwiches come in classic smoked salmon, egg, chicken with mustard, cheese and cucumber.
Tea is an event in itself at the Dorchester, with such a large selection of grand and rare teas to choose from.
The Dorchester Hotel is definitely one of my top five places to have tea in London.

The Promenade is a beautiful place to come for the traditional English high tea. The room is really nicely decorated with huge vases of colorful wonderfully smelling flowers and elegant plush seats and sofas. I came here with a group of friends and we were served really well. We had two waiters take care of our table that evening and they continued to come to our table to make sure we had as much food as we wanted.
The first course of sandwiches was great. They had a good variety and the sandwiches were simple and really tasty. Then they brought out a small in-between course composed of a small minty chocolate, and finally we were served small pastries of different kinds along with delicious scones with jams and butter.
The whole meal was extremely elegant and the food was delicious. Although it was quite pricey, we really felt that we got our money's worth. We sat here for hours and were continued to be served more tea and scones, without ever being made to feel that we should leave. High tea at the Promenade is a unique experience.
I had an amazing lunch with my daughter on her 20th birthday. The servers were friendly and presented us a cake with candles. They also sand happy birthday and played it at the piano. The food was delicious too. The ambiance is lovely. We had ordered the sandwiches which were delectable.
i went to this place with my mother and aunt for an evening meal and we felt glad that we chose this place. To begin with, we got a glass of champagne which was very nice and refreshing. Do try their cheese and salmon sandwiches. The choice of teas that they offer are amazing. Worth a visit!
I celebrated my birthday at this place and i am glad that i chose this place. They serve some amazing afternoon tea. To the great food with exceptionally prompt service and a fun atmosphere.. everything was in sync. The dishes that we ordered were appealing and appetizing and quite filing in an afternoon meal.
i would start by saying that the restaurant's service is exceptionally great. My mother was in a wheelchair due to a broken ankle and was helped throughout the time we were there. Be it the doorman or the waiters. our plates and tea was stacked and filled without them needing a reminder. Due to our in-ability to finish what they stacked so generously, they packed small cakes for us to take home. I Will definitely be visiting again.
Visited this place on the occasion of my daughter's birthday for a delighting afternoon tea and could not be more content. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. Food is incredible and served well. The highlight of our meal was appreciation worthy service! They made extra efforts to make it special for us! Will definitely be back!
I had a lovely time at the restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Our waitress gave us suggestions and we like them all. A few members of the staff can be seen chatting but that may be excused. The food along with the desserts was delectable.
I am not exaggerating when i say that the restaurant is world famous and not wrongly so. You come here for delectable food, calm and soothing ambiance and for a personalized and efficient service. The prices are steep but then the experience is unforgettable. The ambiance has a Victorian feel to it.
The Dorchester Promenade happens to be an amazing place. Visited this place on a Thursday night and walked out totally satisfied with the food, decor, ambiance and ambiance. This place is excellent value for money and the taste is exquisite. The bar tenders were incredible at what they do and made some unique and exquisite drinks. Recommended.
I recently tried this place and had a great time here. There was a wide range of options on the menu to choose from and all of them were pretty interesting. The food was excellent, especially the sandwiches and cakes which were cooked to perfection. The ambience was great with beautiful decor and comfortable seating. The service was pretty quick and efficient with the staff being quite warm and friendly . Thus, I would love to visit this place again and would recommend others to try it as well.
I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago and had a great time chatting and having a romantic time with him. The piano player at this place played phenomenally and it was a great treat for our ears.
The bar was very nicely decorated and had a vibrant feel to it.
The bartender suggested us their raspberry champagne, which tasted exquisite. I would love to visit this place again and would probably get many of my friends along.
This place is one of the best in the city to enjoy your cup of tea. In my opinion, the service here is pretty good ,especially of this one bartender who is a food enthusiast.He can , not only get you your favorite tables but also has some great suggestions for food and teas as well.
I highly suggest trying the incredible Darjeeling and Dorchester teas for sure!
This cute little place is the perfect setting for a toothsome high tea experience. I visited this place on Sunday and it was fairly crowded. Maybe because it was the weekend. In spite of that, this place managed to impress me with its delectable options. I will definitely come back soon!
This place is your answer to a good high tea experience. With perfectly presented scones served with the perfectly balanced tea, what one gets as an experience from here is pure brilliance! The pastries are appetising and melt in your mouth as soon as you dig into them. I had a great time and I am sure you will too!
This place is friendly and amicable in its essence. With the waiters being extremely affectionate, what one experiences here is a warm and gregarious setting. Helpful in nature, the waiter was really convivial with my niece as she ordered her cucumber sandwich. The Dorchester happens to be a place for people who love cocktails and who love to try some different and exquisite cocktails. They possess a great variety of cocktails to choose from. Ranging from low priced to highly priced. The staff is amazing, the drinks are beautifully prepared and the service is very efficient. Recommended.
I cannot recommend this bar enough. the drinks are delectable. The service is spot on. They are efficient, friendly and attentive. The ambiance is cool and the crowd is funky. The ambiance is relaxed and calm and fun. The music is trendy. The prices are a little steep but worth the experience.

This is a great place to catch up with your large group of friends over a drink or two. The bar tender at this place makes some amazing and refreshing cocktails. The food menu have some sides that accompanies with your drinks quite well. I would recommend this place if you have to do some catch up with your friends.

While waiting to get our table, we called for some drinks and the bar and most of the cocktails that we ordered were professionally prepared and the bartender was pretty friendly as well. By far one of the most lively bar I have ever been to. This place is very airy and the atmosphere is very refreshing. If you are really stressed and you need a timeout from your routine then this is the perfect place for you to be. Excellent value for money and brilliant service.
Visited this place for an engagement ceremony. To begin with, the highlight of our whole experience was the incredible service. The atmosphere is enticing and had delicious cocktails. Coming to food, Canopies were mouthwatering. Pricing is high but definitely worth the experience and it is normal for this area. Definitely coming back!
The food that this place has to offer is brilliantly prepared and is fresh as well as tasty. Though the prices have gone up a little recently, the portions were pretty huge and the service was really quick as well. This place is on the top in my list whenever I feel like having Vietnamese cuisine.
This is one of those places which I make a point to visit on my birthday. I think the personal touch that the staff adds in greeting you and acknowledging your loyalty towards them is what makes you revisit this place. You will love the beef salad or the Pho Soup. I recommend you to taste those and these are the recommendations of somebody who has been frequenting this place since 7 years!

The promenade is a beautiful long restaurant with stunning interior. Although the restaurant was quite busy on Saturday afternoon, this wasn’t noticed because of the good distance between the tables and the pianist who was playing live music in the background, adding to the beautiful atmosphere. The restaurant attracts tourists as well as locals.
The tea collection was extensive – we chose Jasmine tea and Vanilla tea, both which were very nice. Shortly after the tea was served, they brought a selection of unlimited finger sandwiches:
* Chicken with wholegrain mustard mayonnaise on basil bread
* Ham and mustard on granary bread
* Cucumber with cream cheese on caraway seed bread
* Egg mayonnaise with shiso cress on white bread
* Smoked salmon on granary bread
Personally, the only two which I really liked were the chicken and the ham, simply because of the strong flavors – the rest in my opinion were quite bland.
The scones came warm and carefully wrapped in a napkin, you get one plain and one with raisin scone each. I would have loved some cream with the scones but it came with butter and 2 jams, strawberry and mixed berry jam.
The scones were directly followed by a selection of beautifully presented French pastries – a chocolate layered gouache slice, a mango and coconut mousse, a rhubarb/cream cheesecake and a raspberry cream éclair with pink chocolate. This selection was rather disappointing as I found the pastries quite flavourless and none of them stood out for me.
I'm giving it 4 stars because of the experience, not taking into account the bland sandwiches and pastries. It met my expectations of a traditional afternoon tea at one of London’s top hotels. The ambiance and service were excellent, making you want to linger and not rush the afternoon away. The price per person adds up to around £50 each and I recommend this for a special occasion.
We had champagne afternoon tea for my mums birthday. It was not cheap at £100 for both of us but definitely worth it for a special occasion. We had a salmon amuse-bouche, sandwiches, scones, a mint mouse cup and then cakes which were all endless. The service was exceptional and they made my mum a mini birthday cake which was a lovely touch.
Top noch service. Awesome decore. Fantastic sandwiches. I went at the dochester for afternoon tea with my other half. Everything was faultless and perfect. The selections classic tea was fantastic and sandwiches were really nice. We went for the dochester blend tea and two glasses of champagne. The staff was very welcoming and the decor was just wow. We werent rushed either even though the place was super packed. The sandwiches wer traditional from cucumber to chicken and we didnt have to think twice about second portions.
Price its deffo on the expensive side but worth the experience verdict if you can afford it its worth the experience i would go again even if its not as often as i would like to
i went to promenade for the traditional high tea and i must say that it was absolutely fabulous, be it the food the service the ambiance everything was spot on the cutlery crockery all spectacular. the scones were nice and warm, moist and melted in the mouth. i had the chamomile tea which was also very good (i dont know much about teas so yeaa…..) the finger sandwiches were okay i would not say that they were fabulous they were passable.
my experience was very good at the dorchester my only complaint would be the high price but i stand wrong since the dorchester is one of the finest five star hotels not only in london but the entire united kingdom. the location of the hotel is also fabulous, i recommend this restaurant to every one who like a nice cup of tea and scones.
We also came for the afternoon tea with champagne. Such a lovely experience. The ambience, service and tea options are top notch, you will feel so special. The vanilla black tea (with oat mylk) is incredible- best tea I’ve ever had. We brought my mom and she had such a lovely time. Our waiter was Rickie and he was amazing- so kind, welcoming and great recommendations.
Where to start….. this place is beautiful. The moment you walk into the hotel, you feel welcomed. The service is out of this world. I came here for the afternoon tea. I had such a magical experience. The food is delicious. The black vanilla tea is a must. A reservation is required which is secured by a credit card. I can’t wait to return.
We came for the afternoon tea. It was an unforgettable experience. 6 types of sandwiches, great choices of pastries & amazing varieties of tea. The hospitality was absolutely fantastic and special shout out to the one and only server, Mr Anuar! We were more than happy to meet someone from our homeland! We had very high expectations and even those were blown out of the water! Outstanding service, delicious teas and food, such a soothing ambience and incredible experience overall. Fantastic vegan / vegetarian options.

From the moment we stepped in to the moment we stepped out the whole experience was 100/10. The interior, atmosphere was perfect, true elegance. The staff were welcoming, elegant and super polite especially our waiter Joe; such an amazing person, very attentive, kind and made our whole experience even more memorable. I wish I could give him a tip or gift but not sure how. The food was amazing please do give best regards to the chef and on top of that everything was halal. each and every member of staff were amazing, so attentive to their guests. The Dorchester overall is an amazing experience. I would not hesitate at all to come again. Some may be weary about the pricing but I think it’s worth the money. Afternoon tea today at the Dorchester was a beautiful experience. Ambience, service, food and the opulence of the Promenade is so lovely. I am facing hospital treatment and they knew this and presented me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Brought a tear just the thoughtfulness. I couldn’t recommend the Dorchester for afternoon tea highly enough. I’ve been to many London hotels for afternoon tea but the experience of The Dorchester is, in my view the best

It’s the best of the best! The food was divine, the scones were so warm and melt in your mouth, delicious clotted cream and the sandwiches are so fresh. The atmosphere is so beautiful and the waiters are so professional. They have good manners and treat you with respect.
Ambience and service definitely lived up to the hype. Tea was good, too. I wish the desserts could have had more variety in terms of flavor and texture.

This is my second visit to have afternoon tea in 5 years. I chose this place as I recall the beautiful decor, excellent service and tasteful afternoon tea. I have had afternoon tea in many venues and, in my opinion, this is my favourite! I bought my mother for her birthday and she loved the whole experience. They have recently reopened after a renovation and the furnishings and decor are very tasteful.
All of the staff were very pleasant and presented themselves proudly as members of such a prestigious venue. There were two staff members in particular that made our experience feel very personalised and unforgettable - Michele and Lucas. They were both very professional and friendly, please do pass on our thanks to them!
The afternoon tea itself was delicious! You can order top ups of sandwiches, teas and cakes as you wish. We asked for a halal option this was catered for with no problem at all.
The current price of afternoon tea is around £95/person (non alcoholic). Yes, it may be on the higher end of afternoon tea’s in London however the whole experience, from the staff to the decor to the delicious food,
is what gives it it’s value.

The food was incredible, I'm so happy we chose The Dorchester for afternoon champagne tea. It's ruined every other tea house as the food and tea was so delicious.
