A lovely traditional British pub in the heart of London.
We were half expecting a hint of racism when we walked in but were pleasantly surprised by the warmth and cheerfulness of the staff!
We sat upstairs since we wanted to grab a bite with our drinks.
A great selection of cask ales and gins.
We had read reviews about the burgers and they were indeed one of the best around...move over all you burger chains, the best burgers in London are at The Magpie!

Decent little boozer on New Street. Opposite the flashier New Street Grill et al from D&D. This is the place for a nice pint and some footie action. Over the EURO2016 expect it to be busy. Lots of menfolk, manual worker types, the salt of the earth in my opinion. But the odd suit also pops their head in on busier nights. The crows spills into the little alley which is home to this spot. Quick and chilled service. Not too expensive. Not trying to be anything it isn't. Ticks the right boxes.

Fantastic atmosphere and amazing drinks - would definitely recommend a visit after work on a Friday night.

Busy but not too busy crowd on a Friday night. Lots of the customers like to stand out on the cobbled street no matter the weather which means it's always quite quick to get served at the bar and you can normally grab a seat/table if that's more what your in the mood for. If you get peckish I would definitely recommend the sharing platter to start  - the melted brie is delish as our the sausages to along with it. Perfect accompaniment to a bottle of prosecco! Very reasonable prices with the starting platter at roughly 12 pounds and you get a lot of grub for your money then 18 pounds for some prosecco.

Needed a place to escape for a pint from the noise and crowds of the main thoroughfares nearby and this pub hit the spot! Located on a quiet side street, this classic pub served some great cask ales (even their own brand) and had warm service and friendly vibes.

Tuesday lunch with friends. The staff followed the correct protocol considering my friend's allergy. However, we did wait a very long time for our food; but this was helped by the generous offer of some drinks on the house and, fortunately, we were not in a rush at all. We very much enjoyed the quiet upstairs as we were able to talk and catch up. Overall, a good experience and we'll be back for Christmas!

Absolutely fantastic and well curated food. Go for lunch or supper and enjoy the food and drinks. Some pub food classics but also way more, with very balanced and well presented dished. Cannot not think about The Bear after dishes on the table and fantastic service. Thank you Magpie staff!

The food was very good, really enjoyed it. We had to sit in the bar area as there was a private event upstairs, and so for dinner with a friend it was a bit noisy, but I would definitely be keen to come back for a few drinks with ky husband, had a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly, and service was excellent.

Lovely old pub, with associated paraphernalia that you would expect, with decent line of beers. Used to be the local post work pub when I worked nearby 10 years ago and it's still good. Big crowds outside during the summer months but solid quick service regardless of crowd size. Also only a couple of minutes walk from Liverpool street

Great pub within earshot distance of Liverpool Street station. To say it’s in such a central location, the prices are affordable and the staff are great! Ended up coming here on a whim but will be back for sure

Nicholson's pub which due to its proximity to Liverpool Street station it is often busy. On warm days the standing space outside is at a premium. They serve some excellent ales.
