Fantastic food, excellent wines, superb service and comfortable atmosphere!

From the moment you knock and enter through the private door you know you're in for a treat. If you can opt for the £50 set meal which must represent the best value in London for lunch.

Can't wait to go back again

We have eaten in quite a few top restaurants including the Simon Radley at the Grosvenor in Chester, Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley, Northcote Manor, Frache in Oxton and Gymkhana in Mayfair. Some of these have come close to the quality of food at Gauthier - but none have surpassed it.

I first booked this restaurant for my wife's 50th......and despite being apprehensive over the fact that they had previously held, but lost a Michellin Star, I booked anyway based off how amazing the menu sounded

I'm so glad I did and have never looked back. We have been back many times and have another trip to London booked at the beginning of June for our wedding anniversary - with one of the main purposes of the trip being another visit to Gauthier.

The setting is cosy but friendly and it's nice to see familiar faces on the waiting staff year after year. The food is classic french in nature, but very well done. Their truffle risotto is to die for and I love the Foie Gras starter (when they have it on the menu).

The only criticism I could level is that the service isn't quite as slick as some of the other restaurants we have eaten. Don't get me wrong - the service is excellent, but some places just seem to take it to the next level. This doesn't bother me as I don't really go for the pomp and circumstance - i'm there for the food first and foremost, but if you are used to eating in such places regularly, I can see how you might find it slightly lacking.

Overall though - it's my favourite restaurant in the country by far and I hope to be in a position to make many trips to eat there in the future.

We had the tasting menu and wine to match. Every course was outstanding and the wine very nicely paired. This place was a new find and despite being kind of formal it wasn't stuffy or stayed. A very nice modern twist on trad French cuisine. The lunch was great value as a tasting menu.

We have been twice to Gauthier this year and twice we have been very happy with our meal: delicate and classical dishes but it feels modern cooking with a twist and imagination. Very good wine list and the service is really great: you feel happy in hat place

It’s been a while since I’ve written a restaurant review and that’s not because I haven’t eaten out. I have. And my waist band would attest to that! But it’s been a really busy summer filled with music festivals, friend’s visiting from around the world and weekends away. Blogging hasn’t been on the top of my list of things to do. But the weather has turned cooler, our calendars have started to free up a bit more and then of course there’s the minor detail of it being my birthday recently. We’ve had lots of great meals out, but it was the last birthday in my thirties, so it had to be special (Any excuse!). It wasn’t that easy finding somewhere that The Better Half (TBH) and I hadn’t been to before, but then I remembered arranging a dinner for a couple of the Directors that I work with which they raved about: Gauthier Soho

Gauthier Soho is one of Soho's most intimate restaurants serving modern French cuisine. The restaurant is located in a well presented three-floor Georgian townhouse off Dean Street. When I dined there, I really felt as if I was dining in a chef's house. Fun fact: you have to ring the bell to be let in, then you are guided up a narrow stairway to your table.

Upmarket feel, great atmosphere and attentive service. Amazing food created by Alexis Gauthier and his team. The tasting menu is highly recommended; in my opinion it is one of the best. Don’t fill up on the amazing freshly baked breads at the start, as you will definitely need to save space for dessert, especially if it is their signature Louis XV chocolate praline — heavenly!!!

I had christmas eve dinner at Gauthier and it was lovely. They setted our table near the fireplace as I have requested. They had a special menu for that data with several different flavours and dishes to taste.
Lobster tortellini and vernison were my favorite.
Service was excellent! If you want a special dinner, Gauthier is a place to go.

The adventure starts when you arrive at the door.  When my dining companion arrived, he thought that maybe this was a trick.  What type of restaurant tells you to ring the door bell?  It’s Soho, so maybe there is something dodgy going on inside…  Yet the door bell adds a touch of class, preserving the tranquil environment inside and helps to keep the screaming riff-raff out.

I took my wife here for dinner on a recommendation and she loved this place. I really liked the ambience here and the hospitality. Staff was welcoming and attentive. Menu looked really good.  Aged parmesan was delicious. I loved my lamb; it was juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. My wife had fillet of beef and she said it’s been a long time she had tasted such nice meal with great wines. We were more than happy while leaving and we are definitely returning.

A quaint little place in soho giving a feeling of dining in someone's private dining room.. We went here to try some molecular gastronomy but ended up with a 7 course meal..

What stood out for me - intelligent use of both green and white asparagus, the black risotto and the granita and strawberry desert with maltaisse sauce.. Everything else was OK. The service was slow.. So took a good 3 hours for us to round up..

I had a vegetarian meal - and it was delightfully artistic. So kudos

Lovely & genteel.. We enjoyed an excellent value lunch at Gauthier Soho - £25 for 3 courses at Michelin level cooking & execution, which include signature dishes like truffle risotto & the Louis XV dessert. Both were amongst the finest dishes I've eaten this year. We also had some beautifully cooked scallops but were let down by some overcooked prawns. Sauces/jus are their strong repertoire & highly accomplished in both the mains of sea bream & pork belly. Petit four was very good. Service was formal & professional.

On a return visit, we enjoyed a very well executed and thought out tasting menu for dinner (August 2010). A generous 9 courses including cheese & coffee/petit four, this is hard to beat for £68, representing good value and sits comfortably among the better Michelin starred kitchens in town. Quality ingredients, carefully cooked, restrained & refine, as expected in fine dining of this sort. The signature truffle risotto & chocolate croustillant never fail, but also enjoyed an interesting sea trout with beetroot & rhubarb. Service was knowledgeable, professional yet engaging. Spoil yourself & go!

The highlight of the meal was the Truffle Risotto which I loved it. It would have added a more of a theatrical show if the truffle were shaved at the table. Nevertheless, it delivered on taste and texture. Risotto was rich and creamy and worked fantastically well with the earthy taste of the truffle. Bread was offered many times in between each courses, eventually we turned it down. I absolutely adored the onion bread (or whatever it was called). Any bread with onion or spring onion, I can consume it for the whole meal. The main course of venison was cooked perfectly. The only fault I had was the halibut, slightly overcooked and starting to go firm.

It's a very nice restaurant with excellent food and an impressive, excellent wine list. There’s always been a lot of hype about Gauthier Soho, spearheaded by the chef himself with his numerous TV appearances on programmes like Master Chef. But as Alexis has found out the hard way that you need to maintain your high standards if you are to hold onto success. Behind a small entrance is a very cosy Victorian terrace, still broken-up into the various rooms. Coming in and being seated really builds a warm feeling and a sense of expectation. Unfortunately though for the chef, Michelin downgraded the restaurant from *1 star to nil (i.e. three sets of cutlery) in late 2012, and it’s not difficult to see why. While the menu is filled with a giddy range of extravagant dishes, the level of the cooking is more in line with L’Escargot or Clos Maggiore, rather than Aspley’s or Club Gascon . The experience is “nice” as opposed to “wow”. The Dorset crab is a good example of this, though, while the quality of the marinated Scottish scallops, maybe outstanding, their treatment and dressing

What is on offer: Gauthier Soho is the place to go if you are yearning for truffle bonanza! The cooking is highly accomplished and the service very good. We’re not sure why they’ve lost their Michelin star (based on our visit, they’ll regain it soon), but it does mean that for the time being you can have a Michelin dining experience for a very good price.

Tip 1: If you want to have an intimate romantic dinner for two, ask to be seated in the secluded wine cellar.

Tip 2: The 5 course lunch tasting menu for £40 pp is one of the best value for money fine dining deals to be had in London.

Total bill: £130 (including service charge and drinks)

Total for this meal? £29, inc. service at 12.5%. This is exceptional value for food that is not only of a Michelin one-star standard but also very distinct from most places in or around Soho. Overall I liked Gauthier Soho a lot and I certainly plan to go back, probably with some real vegetarians in tow since most of my acquaintance voice that fine dining restaurants tend to give them short shrift (though that's clearly changing in London).

We kept narrowly missing each other. Given its recent Michelin success, I can't defer this any longer. Finally, after months of rescheduling/refurbishment, I was ringing the bell at the doorstep of Gauthier Soho. There was no grand entrance on the hushed Romilly Street, just a firmly closed black wooden door. I found myself quivering slightly, more to the wintry February chill than excitement, but it did feel like visiting a date's pad for dinner. We were greeted warmly after a couple of minutes wait, and had our coats looked after at the narrow atrium before shown to our table on the ground floor. There were 4 tables on our side of the dining room, and possibly another 3 on the other. Minimal adornment; a round mirror made with folded magazine pages on cream walls, trimmed crimson roses and a candle on the table, red cushion on chairs. It was homey. First was the small talk, the canapés, introduced by the strikingly handsome French server, with the most engaging eye contact. Quail eg

We made our dinner reservations one day before the dinner, and we were given a table in the wine room. This was both nice and weird. It was really cool to be there, but at the same time, the staff kept coming to take bottles of wine, so it was disturbing. We began our meals with the canapes. They were delicious, especially the parmesan crostinis. Next we had the Foie Gras Royale, which I liked but the rest of the party didn't. Next thing on our table were the scallops, which were cooked perfectly, with the parsley jus, which unfortunately muted the taste of the perfect scallops. We had the Summer Truffle risotto, which was surprisingly delicious here. The next thing was the wild sea bass and squid, and it was not remarkable. The piglet course was crispy and nice, but the cheeses that folllowed were nice. We had the chocolate fondant, that was nice and yummy, but none of the desserts were extraordinary. This place does some nice French food, and so I recommend a visit with especially the risotto. See if you can grab a good discount.

This is probably the most reasonable and light on the pocket michellin star restaurant in the city. And the best part about it ,is the dedication put to perfect the vegetarian dishes which provides you with a range of options amongst the greens.
The oven fresh bread list is impeccable and the guacamole canapes and beetroot macaroons delicious!
Among the starters you must most definitely taste the pan fried foie gras. And for the main course, in my opinion the restaurant serves the best barbary duck breast!
To end you meal with a sweet taste, try their famous Louis XV tart which is heavenly.

Scores of people have reviewed the place showering it with the best compliments but for me this place misses perfect five by a small margin on account of dishes failing to be particularly memorable! Another low down was their pretty average wine list which only tasted okay.

My partner and I had often passed by this restaurant, and decided to try it out for a birthday dinner. This place was commendable, but I am not giving a full rating because there were certain points that could be improved upon. I go for tasting menus a couple of times a year with a couple of my friends, and I’m generally keen to find the ones that aren’t silly-money, and Gauthier ticked the bill this time around.

The entrance to the restaurant is an unassuming front door. Staff behave typically of an upmarket French restaurant, a little obsequious for my liking, which doesn’t set me at ease, and we are the first to arrive, which is annoying because when I booked I got the usual spiel giving the impression that they are terribly busy and we have to arrange our slot to suit them. Pah. Anyway, on to the food...

The tasting menu, of which I attach a photo because it’s too much to go through in detail, is in general a well formulated set, but nothing super-inventive or imaginative. There’s the usual obsession with truffle, and a French menu never seems complete without Foie Gras. So, in order:
• Scallops - delicate and delicious, if a little on the stingy side - this was a carpaccio.
• Foie gras - actually a little bit on the rubbery side, but always an overindulgent pleasure.
• Truffle risotto - bloody fantastic, so packed full of flavour. One of our party doesn’t like truffle, so she asked for an alternative (if i recall a duck egg and mushroom dish), which came covered in truffle - that’s hardly paying attention to the request is it.
• Cod - don’t really remember it. Not because it was bad, just that other things shone brighter.
• Venison - mmmm, this was spot-on, perfectly cooked, perfect sweetness to the sauce (yeah, I said sauce, not jus, take that poshness).
• Cheeses - lovely, but really, two tiny pieces? Come on, you can do better than that. A couple more bits wouldn’t go amiss here, however lovely the presentation and accompaniments are.
• Pear and apple in a crisp pastry ring - this was edible Autumn.
• The “Dark chocolate” was a fantastic gelatinous disk on a crispy base. Super rich, delicious and opulent.

Now we can’t forget, what in all honesty was the highlight of the meal, and that was the matched wine pairing. The very approachable and friendly Sommelier did an absolutely fantastic job, and it was generous, with a glass for each course (excepting the amuse bouche and the petits fours), and my was the matching fantastic! Particular mentions go to the apple brandy, and magical somethingorother that I forgot (due to the accumulated generosity no doubt) with the desserts, and the interesting choice of red with the Cod. Also, Pauline has birch pollen allergy, so no red for her, and she was accommodated wonderfully.

Overall, food of a very good quality, if not spectacularly memorable, with a big thumbs up for the wine.

Fantastic French Cuisine. Very Good for Vegetarians. Nice Ambience.

I enjoyed a lot my dinner out at Gauthier, in Soho area. The staff is very friendly and they helped me choosing as my main course their Lobster Tortellini, which were very delicious and light. As new to the place, I was really undecided on what to order, and they were very helpful on describing their delicate and detailed dishes. It is a good place where to go for Detox food as well. The atmosphere is chic and trendy. It is the perfect restaurant for a family dinner or a date. The prices are quite high, I would say 100 £ for two.

I encourage trying out the restaurant, but do check availability before going!

I was thrilled to bits when I found out we were going to dinner at Gauthier Soho. I’m always excited at the prospect expanding my repertoire of French food given my relatively late start in discovering it.

Upon arriving, I found myself in front of what appeared to be a posh townhouse right in the middle of Soho. You ring the doorbell and then are welcomed inside and led upstairs passing various rooms on different levels till you’re seated at your table. The subdued lighting creates a romantic dreamy atmosphere and discrete service is provided by an army of waiters all who are quite charming and I’m pretty sure have jobs as male models during the day.

It took some time to peruse the menu simply because it’s remarkably flexible – you can opt for 3 courses for 30£, 4 for £40, 5 for £50 and a tasting menu for £70. We ended up choosing the 4 course option and my dinner companion urged me to try the pan-fried Foie Gras and I’m so glad I did – it was sublime. Delicate yet decadent, it was served with a mango compote which help cut through the merichness.

Then came the fish course and I had a fillet of Cornish Red Mullet with a Grilled Scallop, Fennel and Tomato, served with a Black Olive and Red Wine Fish Velouté. The flavours were subtle and came together harmoniously. My companion’s dish of Atlantic Halibut with Artichoke, Asparagus, Basil and Pesto was a bit pale in comparison and could have done with more flavour.

My third course of New Season Lamb was absolutely divine. It was served in 3 ways: Pan Fried Loin, Roasted Lamb Chops and a brisket of Braised shoulder. The braised shoulder was cooked for 48 hours in cardamom and other spices and was gorgeous. Again I think my dish totally overshadowed my companion’s dish of “55 days Aged” Pork with Artichoke and Grelot Onions which ended up tasting a bit too rich and fatty. I really lucked out that night with my choices!

For dessert, he chose the cheese course and got to sample several fine specimens of cheese while I went for their signature dessert – the Golden Louise XV created by the chef Alexis Gauthier. Dark Chocolate Mousse on a crunchy Praline covered in casing of dark chocolate marked with gold leaf. Only for the most serious of chocolate lovers it was rich and decadent. A bit too much chocolate overload for me but at this point I was in too deep and ended up finishing every bite of it.

Oh in case you are vegetarian, fear not - they appear to be accommodating and there is even a tasting menu showcased for vegetarians. Interestingly, all the dishes on the menu are listed with their calorie count – which I promptly ignored. I’d much rather live in denial when indulging like this!

Comparing it to my other French fine dining experience at L‘Autre Pied. I cannot find fault with the food. Gauthier serves more classic dishes than L’Autre which has bit more creative flair to its dishes. The only difference would perhaps be the atmosphere – Gauthier has a rather subdued, stately formal air to it compared to L’Autre Pied which has a younger, casual feel.

Gauthier Soho reminded me of my experience at Koffman’s at the Berkley Hotel. However at Koffman’s every single dish was exceptional and each dish blew me away while at Gauthier there were one or two like the pork and Halibut that weren’t quite up to the mark. Nonetheless it is quite a high mark that I am comparing it to and on the whole, my French gastronomic feast at Gauthier Soho was a very enjoyable experience.

I love French fine dining. So I thought I would treat Mr T something special for his birthday. It was hard to choose, even after some intensive research I still couldn't choose. Gauthier Soho has always been on my list of to go restaurants and it is undeniably one of the more affordable Michelin dining experience restaurant.

Hidden in a Victorian town house in Soho, Gauthier Soho is a former one Michelin star restuarant. We rang the doorbell and a oh so chic waitress greeted us and led us upstairs to our seats. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairing but the a la carte menu offers good value too. Originally I wanted it with the tea pairing which I thought it was something different, Mr T insisted it having with wine pairing so to save the argument I went with his choice.

The infamous Louis XV is a like huge bar of chocolate but tasted better than the everyday brand of chocolate. It was voted by a panel of critics as the "Worlds best dessert", a signature dish of Alain Ducasse's restuarant. If you didn't know, Alexis Gauthier was trained under Alain Ducasse for many years. The base layer consisted of a "hazelnut dacquois feuilletine mixed with praline". The body of cake is a chocolate mousse and finally finished with a dark chocolate glaze. The dessert hitted the note for me, it was brilliant and it wasn't overly too sweet. Unexpected, Mr T was surprised it came with a candle and a birthday message. Also a signed cookbook from the chef. It's not hard to go an extra mile for someone special.

On the finishing note, it lacked the "wow factor" for me. Maybe I was expecting too much. Food was great, using fresh seasonal ingredients cooked to its simplicity and accuracy. Service was smart with a touch of humour, with all details explained thoroughly. I think Gauthier can do better and with years to come I will return to see its improvement.

If Michelin-pomp isn’t for you, it’s somewhere to avoid, but previously I’d found the converted West End townhouse to be a welcome indulgence, serving consistently high-quality French cuisine with finesse. Once a year, the restaurant serves a two-for-one tasting menu, “to experience the full creativity of Alexis and his team the way he would want you to, but for a very special price”, said their email. And £35 each is a very special price for eight courses. You’ve heard the old adage that if something seems to good to be true, it probably is? This was no exception.

With its doorbell, Gauthier still feels like a private house; the restaurant is split over three floors, with two main salons and a number of private rooms. It’s charming, but things can feel a little cramped as you squeeze past tray-bearers in the corridor and on the stairs. Decoration is tasteful, if a little bland. We began with canapés. Usually good here, these were tasteless, overly-chilled, and stale. Paying £10 for a gin and tonic, I’d expect some better nibbles. We chose the eight matching wines (£60/person) to go with our tasting menu. I rarely indulge in wine-pairings, but due to the excellent sommelier, Roberto della Pietra, if you’re going to go all out, this is place to do it. And so began our meal of three acts.

Act 1: Betrayal. I can see the idea behind pan fried duck foie gras with apricot & ginger marmalade and a Saint Mont 2009, Les Vignes Retrouvées. However, the end result was too sweet, almost dessert-like, and the foie gras was totally lost on me. A slightly drier wine may have helped. Scottish scallops with girolles, garlic & parsley came next with a suitable pairing of Chateau Haut Peyruget 2011, Vignobles Jolivet. Just the one scallop (ahem!) was cooked to an ideal milky translucency, but an abundance of garlic and (I thought) cumin ruined it. Such a simple dish to get wrong. The Summer Truffle Risotto could have been great: rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked grains, but where was the truffle? Spying their a la carte menu, I saw Summer Ceps Risotto, which we had evidently received. Either an honest mistake, or some cunning deception, I’m not sure. Whatever it was, I knew the villain in this plot.

Act 2: Respite. Things improved with the thoughtful combination of sea bass & baby squid with courgette tempura, and the lightly battered vegetable with black ink & fish sauce brought an interesting Asian element to the dish. The only slight oddity was the wine, but I suppose Roberto had cheekily wanted to put a rosé on the list. A better choice was the perfumed Minervois Petit Arthur 2008 with the soft piglet belly, glazed baby carrot and leek & cherry jam, a dreamy pork jus holding it together. Meat and two veg this was not. Well, it was, but so much more. Feeling slightly let down by the excellent, but small portion of 22 month aged Comté and pepper relish, we decided to enjoy cheese as God intended. From the trolley. I can’t recall what we chose, but it was certainly worth the supplement (£8).

Act 3: Endurance. Desserts are not all they’re cracked up: fresh raspberry with soft blanc manger and crispy milk was uninteresting and one-dimensional – a palate cleanser of sorts, I suppose. And the famed Louis XV dark chocolate praline, adored all over the blogosphere as ‘the best chocolate dessert out there’, was nothing special. It looked pretty with its gold-leaf and cocoa shine, but after eight courses and feeling full it was too rich to be appreciated. It’s sweet red pairing, Banyuls Rimage Rouge 2008, was another misjudged choice for me. So as the curtain fell, our bill came to £262. We did not applaud. Service tries to be as charming as possible, but came across overly-rehearsed and somewhat insincere. I’m guessing the stars of the show – Alexis and Roberto – were absent; instead we had to put up with understudies who have some way to go in learning their lines.

Usually outstanding, this was a weak performance. Take it from me, there’s no such thing as a free lunch…nor a half-price tasting menu.

Addendum: I had dinner here with three friends in September 2012 in the intimate, four-seat wine room. A new menu, fantastic wine, and some incredibly attentive service meant that, for me, Gauthier was back on its old form. As previously noted, the experience above seems to have been a blip. I would still thoroughly recommend it.

Gauthier is a part of a special group of chefs elevating plant based cuisine as a whole. While I wouldn't give every dish 5 stars, there were a number of standouts which would keep me coming back. Namely, the pasta dish was delicious, rich, decadent and satisfying, We loved the flaky bread served with a shot of warm soup. Deserts were very nice including the profiterole served with the bill. The service was attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere is minimalist but chic, a clean palate where the food draws your attention.

Absolutely unbelievable vegan meal!! Every course was a delightful explosion of flavors. The creativity in each dish was evident, showcasing the chef's mastery of plant-based ingredients. From the appetizer to the dessert, I was thoroughly impressed by the thought and effort put into crafting this extraordinary culinary experience. The balance of textures and tastes kept me engaged throughout the meal. Kudos to the chef for pushing the boundaries of vegan cuisine and delivering a dining experience that left me both satisfied and amazed.

An absolute 5 star experience. The place is very cozy and intimate - and the 7 course meal we had was amazing. All the staff were on point, and our main server was enthusiastic, and loved to be there. Every course was explained and one thing that put icing on the cake was my wife wanted a dish from another prefixed menu; and they came through with a plate of it just so she could try it. Would definitely recommend this venue.

Breathtaking vegan course of creative dishes - they even serve a 3D printed fake meat (not locally sourced though). There are many cool moments in the experience from a little surprise to wonderful presentations. I can only recommend this place, it's a lovely meal and a great gift to any of your vegan friends! Apart from the meal, which was undoubtedly one of the best I ever had, the atmosphere and the service was nothing special. The dining room is rather blend and the waiters seemed rushed when they were explaining the dish (it's understandable though, they're probably very busy). I would give 5* but I can't because we actually found a hair in the chocolate sauce of the dessert - it's most likely a prepackaged(?) sauce but still... the restaurant gave us 3 drinks on them as a compensation. Overall lovely experience and I will most likely return in the future:)

My boyfriend is vegan and we came here for our anniversary as it had been spoken highly of by friends. We had also previously visited Gauthier’s 123V restaurant in Fenwick and really enjoyed the vegan sushi. Over the nine courses, we had a flavour journey - it was an artful demonstration in what can be done with vegetables, with the tendency not to repeat flavours. For example, I usually don’t reach for beetroot, but when you combine it with flavours of cocoa, cherry, and parsley, you can’t help but savour it. Our favourite dishes were the tomato ravioli, the courgette flower, the laminated brioche, and the chocolate dessert. Also worth noting that after 9 courses, we were absolutely stuffed (my boyfriend is a big guy), so don’t feel like you’ll leave hungry “just because it’s vegetables”. The service was excellent and they even made a special message for our anniversary on the dessert plate. The art is from Gauthier’s private collection and also brings much to the townhouse and dining experience. Highly recommend for vegans (or not) if you’re looking to enjoy the creativity and be shown what can be done with veg. Will be coming again for special occasions in future.

I had been following this restaurant since they changed to a vegan menu and felt really fortunate to get a reservation. It was an absolutely amazing menu. Alexis Gauthier has done an amazing job to present an incredible gourmet vegan menu. FIVE STARS.

My third visit. Each time has been simply perfect! Wonderful food. Friendly, happy clientele. Impeccable service. I really can't fault this place. Both the grand and petit dinner offer great value, considering the quality and distinct nature of every dish. A great bet for a special occasion!

We had a private room for our business dinner. The servers brought out course after course of delicious vegan foods. I am a vegetarian but I've never tasted anything like most of these delicious courses. One of the most amazing was the main course which had a vegan steak substitute which was exactly as I remember steak tasted like with exactly the same texture. I've had many meat like substitutes but nothing ever this good.

Such an amazing experience! My first time at a fully vegan fine dining, and did not disappoint. Highlight for me was the brioche with the lentil daal. Also, the ravioli was just a burst of amazing flavors!! The tastes were spectacular although for my palette maybe a bit too much of sourness in some dishes. All in all, I would definitely recommend.

There simply aren't enough words for how incredible our experience at Gauthier Soho was. We took advantage of the 241 deal on OpenTable, and each of the 6 courses was sublime. We cannot wait to return soon.

Wow! What a great vegan experience. Had the Autumn Petit Dinner on Friday night and all dishes were great, with decor / service to match. The team also handled some tricky allergy advice - my thanks to the kitchen and wait staff for dealing with this last-minute bomb so smoothly. Very nice to have such a top-end vegan experience available and I am already looking forward to my next visit.

No faults or complaints. Service was on point, perfect amount of time between each delicious course. 5pm seating finished in 1hr 40m leaving plenty of time to get to a 7pm show. The black truffle risotto and the Veef tenderloin were standout dishes. Perfect reproductions of non-vegan version.

Good vegan tasting menu and service. Truffle pasta dish was the highlight. Very disappointed with the dessert - they could do a lot better given it's a fully vegan fine dining restaurant. I've had better vegan desserts at non vegan restaurants. Wish they still had the potted vegan fois gras on the menu.
