BEST VIETNAMESE FOOD EVER. Called for prawn curry with rice, and I didn't want it to be over. Secretly wished for it to multipy in my plate. So delicious. And oh so flavourful. Must try.

I headed in this direction in search of a Korean restaurant that I had bookmarked. They were supposed to be open until 3pm, but at 2:30 they had a "closed" sign hung on the door.

I then walked down a bit until I found this place and I'm so glad that I did. I had the pork bun (think vermicelli noodle salad) which was amazing. Just the right balance of flavours and textures. I felt guilty adding a bit of sriracha to up the heat, because the balance was absolutely perfect.

I also had the spicy beef pho. Very tasty, however it has a strong smell and taste of beef in the soup, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you love your beef.

There are plenty of other options on the menu too and when I saw them set up for evening service as I left, I realised that the dinner menu has more options than the lunch menu.

The staff were excellent and took good care of me despite my arriving close to their closing time.

They had unfortunately run out of the Vietnamese iced coffee, but they had my favourite aloe Vera drink and it was a lovely accompaniment to the light and healthy meal.

I love tonkotsu ramen style broth, but on a sunny day like today, pho is absolutely perfect.

Go to the website for this Vietnamese restaurant in Clerkenwell and tell me when the restaurant is open. Now, go to the website for this crab-focused restaurant in Broadgate Circus and check its opening hours. Wait til Sunday. Call them and ask when their actual opening hours are. WHY IS IT SO HARD PEOPLE? WHY? (I will start an Opening Hours Page of Shame soon. Get ready for it.)

There has been a lot of new Vietnamese restaurants opening around London recently : Viet Food in Soho, FOLD on Brick Lane and Yum Som in the City which I have planned to visit pretty soon.
Seeing all the vietnamese dishes on my Twitter timeline I decided to pay a visit to my old local restaurants around Holborn - Banh Mi Bay. On that occasion we were not very lucky with my boyfriend as Banh Mi Bay was already full. We went instead on Clerkenwell Road (3 minutes away) to Ngon Ngon.
We arrived around 1.30pm. Ngon Ngon was absolutely packed too but we managed to get the last empty table. While we were ordering, we were informed that unfortunately they had totally sold out of banh mi. My boyfriend was a bit disappointed.

We started our meal by sharing some prawn, pork and squid spring rolls. They were very light, crispy and full of flavour. I liked the fact they had squid in as it gave an extra texture to the usual classic prawn and pork spring rolls you get anywhere else.

As a main dish, my boyfriend had the Pho tai, which was rice noodles in a clear beef broth with slim rare cuts of beef. It came with some chili, lime and herbs on the side.
I tried his dish, the broth was packed in flavour (even without herbs and spice). The beef was also really tasty and not chewy at all.
I had stir fried flat noodles with chicken (Pho Xao Ga). It came with some crispy vegetables: carrot, pak choi, courgette and crispy onions on top. I thought the dish was pretty good, and also had the perfect balance of meat, carbs and vegetables. I remember at Banh Mi Bay the portions are usually slightly bigger but you end up with more noodles than meat or vegetables.

Just simply excellent Vietnamese food! You cannot go wrong with the sautéed beef phở - added diced tomatoes was a pleasant surprise. The soup was flavorful yet light and the juicy, tender beef was divine. We also had the Betel leaf beef, absolutely delicious. The butter lettuce, vermicelli noodle, fresh herbs, and the sweet fish sauce come together harmoniously. The sides we order were the egg fried rice and stir-fried morning glory with garlic were just as well-crafted as the two mains. We could not leave this review without mentioning the amicable and warm service we received from the staff members as well as the cozy atmosphere that elevated our dining experience to the next level. I hope you have an opportunity to check this place out!

Food was delicious, good portion size, and reasonably priced. However it was so loud in there we could barely hear each other and had to leave (it was only 7-8pm on a Tuesday!), and the service wasn’t great - friendly, but were too short staffed. Overall I’d recommend though, as I said, food was great

This restaurant has impeccable customer service - the staff are so friendly and the service is very fast. We had our food to our table less than 10 minute after we had ordered. I also really liked that they had a separate page for vegan and vegetarian options. I got their spicy tofu pho which was so good! I definitely recommend! I also recommend getting their Vietnamese coffee on the side - it pairs so well with any dish. The ambiance is also very nice - having a seat my the window is a while plus but the entire restaurant is very beautifully decorated. I would definitely come here again!

A hidden gem in the heart of Clerkenwell. A colleague said the rare beef pho is the best he's had in London. The fish dishes, papaya salad and Vietnamese spring rolls all received great feedback, too. I will definitely eat here again. Also good gluten-free options.

We found this spot spontaneous last year. Actually, we are coming back this year, and just to try the pho again. They served outstanding traditional Vietnamese Pho. The beef fillet is well cooked and melt in my mouth. I will never forget the taste. Very nice and friendly staff. The price is quite reasonable. I'm very happy about the whole condition. They never disappoint me.

Very good. No booking which as it turned out was risky.. It was packed but we were given a 5 minute wait and were fitted in. The menu was good and service was brisk. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. We had seabass which was a good choice. Definitely look to going back but I will book next time.

Superb!! Delicious food at reason prices, great portion too! We got the tofu mango payaya salad, summer rolls, squid bun, lemongrass chicken bun and Ha Noi fish! All were excellent, for added sizzling cool effect, go for Ha Noi fish or shaken beef, both are authentic and traditional!! Will be back!! 😍😍 Downstairs dining area is super cute too!
