One of the most beautiful tea rooms for high tea time in London. The tea time was phenomenal, classy and upper-scale as I like it. Very good clientele, good music, very good service. I strongly recommend it. A perfect place for a cooler gloomier day! Make a reservation they are generally fully booked.

I went here with my boyfriend and a friend for some post-Prom food in July. I was not really looking for full on fine dining that evening or to spend a small fortune on one meal, but I was outnumbered. Ultimately I was glad I was!

I have eaten in all sorts of restaurants on five continents, and I have never, ever, ever had such memorable food. It may seem an odd thing to say, but the food at Celeste has FLAVOUR. I can't think of any other way to describe it. Where do they get this magic food? Whatever an item of food is supposed to taste like, it does, but amplified a thousand times! Simply incredible.

The service was excellent, not intrusive or stuffy, just an endless stream of sweet little women in flat shoes. Post-Prom and post-wine, my boyfriend was in the mood for a bit of low volume singing. One of the little women came to inquire whether we wanted any digestifs but couldn't quite figure out how to get a word in, it was simply adorable.

Yes, it is expensive. But get yourself a sugar-daddy/-mommy and go!

The air con was very cold when we arrived but charming staff quickly put that right. The waiters who looked after us (including Frederico from Maiori) seemed to be enjoying themselves by being attentive and considerate. Good service is wonderful but service with a big, genuine smile is rather more special. Thank you for that.

The little amuse bouches were intriguing, rather than particularly enjoyable. The Mackerelwas the stand out here, with a subtle lemony flavour cutting through the natural oiliness of the fish.

Two of us ate the foie gras, presented in a subtle, herby terrine; slightly over-chilled but with excellent flavours. One ate a Caesar's salad that did not appear on the menu - it was cleverly presented on a base made from a cross section cut of iceberg lettuce. Absolutely delicious.

Onto the main course - two duck, one lamb and a halibut. I ate the lamb, which was excellent, cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. I then tasted the duck and could easily have eaten the lot - it was outstanding.

We had various ice cream based puddings, of which mine (a lemon meringue served with fresh strawberries) was beautifully presented and excellent - tiny flecks of lemony jelly and fresh thyme added an extra dimension.

The room (when the air con came under control) is so attractive that it makes the evening special. And into this haven of sophistication came the most sublime cucumber-based palate cleanser imaginable.

The prices are eye-wateringly high but every plate exceeded expectations - so it would be churlish not to say that the price was pretty well worth it. Am I going back soon? Not until I can afford to. Would I like to go back soon? If I could have that food, those flavours, the setting and that level of friendly service without quite such a tough price tag I would go back often.

It’s official. I’ve found me new favourite restaurant in London. One that exudes timeless glamour, luxury, finesse and a piece of London – packed into one very classy and refined package. Celeste at The Lanesborough opened in July 2015 after the hotel underwent a complete refurbishment and transformed one of London’s most iconic hotels into one which will again remain an icon for many more years to come. It’s all still very traditional and classic inside, and you wouldn’t even know it was just a year old interior wise – but take a closer look and you’ll notice everything is that little more polished and materials made from ever slightly more modern fabrics. In short – I’m in love.

The first post back after a long holiday is always hard to get into, I’m in fact still abroad, still in my pyjamas at 1pm local time, and munching on a bowl of porridge with chia seeds. Its been a hell of a break, and I’m utterly relaxed and eager to get back to my life in brilliant London. One of the things I love most about London is it’s habit of constant change and flux, as well as its age-old traditions. The newly refurbished Lanesborough Hotel in Knightsbridge is testament to the unending nature of one of the best cities in the world, and the hotel is fresh and utterly luxurious.

Executive chef Florian Favario has taken his experience from a 3 star kitchen in Paris combining with prime British ingredients to create some of the most exciting dishes I have encountered this year.

There was a terrific posh scotch egg - a Burford Brown encased in mince of chicken and rosemary-spiked lardo from Colonatta, crispy, with a rich and golden runny yolk and earthy truffle mayonnaise (£14 a la carte, also on set lunch menu). My brother had a cold starter with lobster - good chunks of meat presented as a sort of salad, with tagliatelle-style ribbons of a vegetable we couldn't identify and forgot to ask about.

I had lobster in my main, with conchiglioni pasta and it's own light and frothy bisque. I enjoyed it, but I suspect I would have done so much more with the absence of peppers, the flavour from which I felt had no place on the plate. The capers though, definitely (£34 on a la carte).

My brother nailed his choice - roast Norfolk black chicken, confit crispy leg, and girolles mushrooms. As good as it reads - savoury, umami, like the chickeny essence had been extracted from 50 fine birds and concentrated into one plate's worth of food (£24 a la carte, also on set lunch menu).

Laudable desserts came in the form of a vibrant mango eton mess, shards of meringue sticking out like ship sails in the wind (£12.50 a la carte, also on set lunch menu), and a gloriously seductive Guanaja chocolate mousse with streusel crumble, demonstrating some impressive paint brush skills (£12.50 a la carte).

I was really impressed with Celeste overall, some of the dishes were spectacular and full of imagination and drama without being gimmicky. For me Celeste is the best restaurant opening in 2015 so far and hard to imagine any other opening later this year which can rival it

Its only been open about six weeks but they don't seem to be having any teething problems here.  The dining room is incredible ( even though I'd seen it before when it was Apsleys) the food is perfection and the service is exceptional.  I had the 7 course Tasting menu with wine, the wines was so perfectly matched.  Each course was mindblowing! Cannot recommend enough!

I absolutely adored this hotel, me and my Mum visited for the set menu lunch and it was faultless! Sea trout was cooked to perfection, the complimentary bread was so flavoursome, and the dessert quite possibly one of the best I've ever had (which is a lot!). From the moment you arrive, everyone is on hand to escort you to where you need to be, very welcoming and nothing is too much for them. Interior is beautiful, very traditional. Thank you to the entire hospitality team at the Lanesborough for making us feel special, I look forward to returning in the near future!

Everything you should expect in a five stars restaurant. A pity they don't serve individual portions of Wellington, but that's the norm on these places. The Grouse is highly recommend, easily the best dish in my London stay.

Beautiful interior, wonderful welcome from staff. Warm Greeting form sommelier. Good wine selection- a whole book of wines to choose from. Had the three course meal, the starters was nice- chicken parfait with brioche, super rich but very tasty. The mains of beef Wellington with a supplement which was excellent with the amazingly intense jus and the desert were amazing of chocolate tart and the cheese cake. Wonderful food, amazing service and beautiful ambience.

Had a great evening in the restaurant. The layout of the restaurant is spacious, grand, and comfortable. Think it gave us a very relaxing vibe for a wonderful family and celebration occasion. Great choices from the set menu and the team is very attentive and knowledgeable. Think it really enhanced our experience of the evening. Good food quality and I left feeling satisfied and yet not too full from a three course meal.

If your thinking of a place to enjoy great food , nice wines , excellent friendly service in a fabulous location then allow me to recommend The Lanesborough Grill. This was our first visit here and I can assure you it will not be our last. We arrived at the Lanesborough Hotel in it’s perfect location on Hyde Park Corner and received a warm and friendly welcome. We were escorted to the restrooms where we could freshen up before lunch. Waiting for us at reception to the Grill was yet another very friendly welcome before being shown to our table. Once comfortable we looked around the dining room which was absolutely stunning with a classic old style feel. We immediately felt so relaxed and this was to continue throughout our time here. Our lunch got off to an excellent start as we were treated to a complimentary glass of champagne to welcome us to the restaurant. We enjoyed our champagne while browsing through the menu given to us by the lovely Manuela. She along with all the staff were a real credit to the industry. This on a Sunday is a three course menu with a very good selection of starters , mains (including a Sunday Roast) and desserts. If you so wish there’s an opportunity to have a wine pairing with each course. This in the end was what we decided to choose. We started with some bread before moving on to the starters. STARTERS - To begin I enjoyed one of the best terrines to date. The Pressed Terrine of truffled corn fed chicken with chanterelle aioli and a cheddar brioche was amazing. My wife opted for the Roast Orkney Scallop with sea herbs and a lytham shrimps bearnaise and where the look on her face was enough to tell me how good it was. These dishes were perfectly paired with two fabulous wines. For the scallop a 2018 Grace Madeline from Cullen Wines in Australia and for the terrine a delightfully light and fruity Schaller French Pinot Noir. Before we moved on to our main course we were in for a really nice surprise as from the kitchen came a complimentary additional course of a Coronation Crab Salad with a curry and lime sabayon which was beautiful. There was even an extra pairing to accompany this dish a 2014 Domaine de Chevalier. This was a fabulous gesture from the team and when we spoke to manager Daniel we asked if he could pass on our thanks to the kitchen. MAINS - Well if our starters and our extra treat were a delight what was to follow was pure indulgence. My wife chose the Rhug Estate Lamb with roast aubergine stuffed lamb belly , natural yoghurt , spiced lamb and coriander dressing. For myself I went for the Beef Wellington with caramelised roscoff onion , tunworth cheese potatoes , pale ale and honey which was absolutely fantastic. Another two excellent wines were to accompany each dish. The lamb was paired with a 2017 Henschke Barossa and the beef a Torcicoda Primitivo 2020 full of black fruits and chocolate. DESSERTS - After a nice little break it was time for desserts. My wife though decided to opt for the supplemented Cheese Course where you were able to choose five cheeses from a fantastic selection of British and Irish cheeses accompanied of course by a glass of port. For myself I chose the Caramelised Brioche Pudding with burnt orange purée and buttermilk ice cream and a real delight it was to. This was paired perfectly with a 2017 Jurancon. We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to an end an absolutely fabulous afternoon. The food was excellent , the wine pairings were perfectly matched , the staff are so friendly and professional and all this in a stunning location. This is definitely a place I would highly recommend and will certainly not be leaving it very long before I return myself. The menu on a Sunday is priced at Three Courses for £75 and the Wine Pairings are Three Glasses for £55 and when you consider the quality of produce and the location I easily consider this to be of great value. Thank You Daniel , Manuela , Shay , Diego , Zilbe for your amazing hospitality and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Just top notch all round. Sunday lunch to remember, with excellent food, excellent wines, excellent service and excellent ambience, complete with Brian, the excellent pianist (we’ll say hello to Churchtown for you!). Guess what, we think it was excellent…! Properly 5 star deluxe.

I had a great birthday lunch with my wife. We enjoyed a delightful 3 course meal in very nice surroundings. The service was excellent and one of the waiters explained the origins of the Lanesborough, which at one point had been a hospital which later moved to St George's in Tooting, hence the Lanesborough Wing at St George's. The dining area was actually the hospitals operating theatre. Forgive the distraction... back to lunch, the food was amazing as anticipated. For starters we had cured scottish salmon and a pressed terrine of truffle corn fed chicken with a cheddar brioche roll. For mains we had Suffolk belly pork and sea trout. For dessert we had a Rich Manhan chocolate cake with brandy ice cream. And for afters some petit fours. Recommended and all very delicious 😋

We had the gluten free afternoon tea. The seating area itself is bright and makes you feel comfortable right away. The ambiente is a big plus. The sandwiches were ok, a little bit bland, missing sometimes a little salt. The gluten free scopnes were nice, I loved the lemon curd that the scones were served with. And the cakes were really good - i dont remember the name, but the blue one was totally outstanding! Overall a not cheap experience with semi good sandwiches, but good cake and ambiente AND gluten free!
