Probably one of the best wine bars on this side of town. This place has got a huge heritage. Love this place every time I have visited.

A bit disappointed though to see additions of beer to the bar menu in a traditional wine bar. The Cork and Bottle platter is highly recommended

Our Little Secret.... For local's in the know, this is one of the best places to go in Leister Square if you want a good meal at a reasonable price. The wine list is wonderfully extensive and insane and makes for a good glug after work, before or after a movie or the theatre. It is small, subterreanean and gets hot and crowded especially at weekends, so only tell friends you really really like and maybe we can keep this our little secret!

Whilst walking through Leicester Square, my boyfriend and I found Cork and Bottle! Such a lovely little find! Very easy to miss, this quaint mystery is hidden below a door on the approach to Leicester Square, opposite Zoo Bar. When you walk down the old fashioned, iron staircase it's like you take a step back in time and into France! You enter a cave like cellar filled with mismatch tables, candles, french decor, a cheese bar and A LOT of wine!

The staff here are friendly. We met the owner who clearly lived for this restaurants. You could see his passions lie with Wine and cheese, and most definitely fine dining cuisine as he fed us tasters and informed us about the wines on offer. It was lovely to see such passion.

We only visited for a drink, which were not too badly priced in fact! We took a look at the menu whilst relaxing on a table sipping at our drinks and it looked interesting! A variety of French dishes on offer, somewhere we would like to eat one day! Promising restaurant for future visits!

Dared to opt for the famous ham and cheese pie - a rich choice but wasn't disappointed! Very pleased with the help with choosing wine accompaniments, as I know very little about wine. Service with a smile, will definitely go back!

Nice place!! Highly recommended if you want to have wine or cheeses. Prices are a little bit high for a glass of wine I would say but still a good place to go once in a while.

Cremant de Loire, Opus des Marquets, plus something Lebanese and gorgeous. Knowledgeable and friendly front of house staff, prompt excellent food. A little too noisy for my tastes, do you really need that canned music? Sigh. Would have stayed for pud but for the clamour 👌🤜🤛🙏🌹

Love this place! It’s been around for 51 years; it’s gotta be doing something right! I’ve been coming here since 2019 and it is cozy with 7-8 bar stools and many 2, 4 top tables plus a cute cave with its own table - great way to celebrate. (Be ready for the narrow staircase from Leicester Sq downstairs to the restaurant/bar.) so happy to have found this place!

Blink and you miss it, you enter the Cork & Bottle via a single doorway and down a spiral staircase, set amongst all the lights and madness of Leicester Square. It's unexpectedness adds to its charm. This is a retro classic. It opened in 1971 and you sense not much has changed since (apart from the prices, alas). The endless wonders of their wine list cater for all tastes. However at £9.20 a glass for the cheapest house wine, it isn't so kind to pockets. I had the chicken schnitzel - very tasty, although served with a rather sad egg salad. Authentically 70s one supposes. Perhaps the extensive cheese list is a safer option. Come for the wine and the excellent atmosphere. Long live a London classic.

Super cute place. Don't let the outside fool you too!! From the street level, it looks absolutely disappointing. But once you pull the door to go down, it's a whole different world. This place is cute and they also have little bunkers (that's what my friend calls them but they look more like caves) that seat up to 6 people and they're super private and great for a girls night or even business dinner. Must look at their wine and cheese menu.... large selection. I'd definitely go back.

The Cork & Bottle is a quirky little place with real character. Located on Cranbourn Street just off Leicester Square you enter and immediately go down the twisty stairs. The layout is an eclectic mix of rooms and tiny alcoves that I believe used to be prison cells. A selections of wines and cheeses to choose from you can relax in the cosy atmosphere and chat to friends at your leisure. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Thank you to my new friend Maggie that I met in London, for telling me about this great little wine bar. Located in Leicester Square, walk downstairs to this landmark featuring over 300 wines, a nice selection of cheese and an eclectic menu. Perfect place to chill with a glass of wine. Service was great, Ben took good care of us.

Absolutely gorgeous little place, hidden down some stairs. Lovely service and an oasis of calm yards from the bustle of Leicester Square.
