Best shake of my leave, the peanut butter one. Very tasting burger but not that big
Amazing place in London. I love the food. can’t wait to come back here again. Congratulations to the staff.
Absolutely awesome burger place. Very indulging, delicious and freshly served at reasonable prices, optimal hygienic conditions and punctual and prompt service.
A whole plant based section of the menu for us meat free diners. I tried the plant based version of smokey Robinson which was really tasty with fresh lettuce and tomato.
One of the best burgers I’ve had in London. The place was packed at night so I got a takeaway.
Waiting time is average as there were a lot of take outs as well.
Very friendly staff and helpful.
I tried the Smokey burger which was delicious. The patty was perfectly cooked to medium as requested. The burger is extremely juicy and very rich in ingredients. It is very fulfilling.
The chips are perfectly seasoned and crunchy.
Prices are fair.
Overall, a must try burger. Highly Recommended!
Love the chicken burger here. Very tasty and freshly made. They have nice and comfortable ambience. Great staff and quick service.
A go to place for all fast food lovers to have absolutely delicious burgers, fries and many other fast food items that are always freshly made and served at the best prices and service as well .
The Lamb burger was unreal and the quality of the meat was exceptional! The Chicken wings were also amazing - Tasty AF
This is Like the only place is London I went back too. Need I say more?
What I had?
Vegan burger, portobello burger
What I liked the most ?
Their vegan burger sent me into a food coma. It was so so good that I had to go back to eat it again. The only place in the world that makes vegan bacon strips . So so yummy
What I thought?
Like you simply cannot miss their burgers while in London
Best patty burger I've ever tried! The portion is very big and I really love the fries.. service also very friendly and fast. Where the place is very packed.
Staff was great, but the expensive chips were just the fragments left over from the fryer and we ordered cheese balls for ~£4 and we got just four the size of 1p coins... bigger and better sides needed!

Limited menu and yet everything is Uber delicious. The Ari Gold cheeseburger is my go to meal with a nice cold craft beer. Don’t hesitate to order the winger winger chicken dinner. Lovely spot for a nice hang out with a bunch of friends. Expect to queue to get a seat on the weekends
Patty and bun Bahut hi sai restaurant h. Yaha p apne Dosto k saath gya tha. Jgha dikhne me bahut sahi h.. Saaf sutri jgha h. Pariwaar k saath yaha aaya ja skta h...
Good food ,good quality, recommended for visitors great taste, James street marylebone London party and bun creamy cheasy Delicious great yummy lajawab taste
Enjoyed my time here. I had ordered mushroom burger and chicken burger, both were good.
Food: 4/5
Service: 4.5/5
Ambience: 4/5
Value for Money: 3.5/5
Overall: 4/5
Probably the best burgers in town, competing with the five guys . Quick service , ideal if you hungry and want a quick and delicious bite . Friendly staff. Recommend !
For first visit was ok. Service was very good and friendly atmosphere was also very nice and quite busy. Burgers wasn’t the best what I ever have but was average for price fries we get little bit colder but still ok. I’d like to have a plate but I can understand should be like a street food. For quick snack it’s ok.
Came here to try their burgers
Ordered the mushroom burger and chicken burger , both were very good
Staff were friendly and attentive
With Sprezzatura
One of the best Chicken burgers around, £9 for a tasty burger with a great atmosphere and lovely staff. Does get quite busy around 6/7 so get there early! Would also recommend the rosemary and salt chips.
I had the smokey Robinson burger and shared the a chips with roast chicken mayo and chicken skin salts and the patty fried chicken. The food was lovely. The caramelised onion was great and the beef was cooked perfectly. The rosemary salt complimented the chips perfectly.... the smokey Robinson burger so good , but the chips are something else the i have had chicken skin salted . To sum up.. Fabulous burgers, beef patties freshly made and cooked to individual tastes, really delicious and of good quality, tasty chips too!
Because I am a big fan of burgers, I found this place known for it's juicy and ambrosial burgers...
The signature ‘ari gold’ burger is a generous patty slathered in a winning combination of ketchup and smoky mayo, ..
One of the best burgers I have ever had in my life was a The Truffle Meister special from here – brioche, ketchup, lettuce, celeriac & radish slaw, aged beef patty topped with truffled short rib, shittake mushroom, roast chicken mayo and caramelised onion and the Chicken Wings literally fall of the bone in a moorish, sticky BBQ coating.
The chips with rosemary salt are great and the Rum Punch was sweet and smooth...
P&B have nailed simple ingredients to make great flavours. It's simple and fast, with incredible tastes.
The juiciest Burger's in London...
Must try the Burger's....
I'm not a big burgers fan but this is my fav burgers in London!!! Too tasty!! We did Ubereats (we were staying at the hotel in CBD) and ordered Hot Chic Burger, Smoky Robinson Burger and Chicken Wings!!
It took less than 30min for delivered. So quick! Thanks Ubereats.
Both burgers are too delicious and the beef was tender and juicy!!!
If you love bacon then go ahead to Hot Chic Burger and if you love beef then definitely go to Smoky Robinson.
I recommend cook it as rare, very meety and couldn't stop eating!haha
One of the top burger restaurant in London the place can get very crowded at peak time so come early. Chips with roast chicken Mayo is what you love trying at patty and bun again and again
One of the top burger restaurants in London if not the best!
The place can get very crowded at peak times so come early. The food is delicious, the meat perfectly cooked and the sauce heavenly!
The staff is friendly too!
A must when in London!!
Burger joints tend to be very popular amongst meat eaters. Now Patty and Bun isn’t necessarily different in that respect, but they do have one really good veggie option. Let’s be clear, there is only one option – but in my opinion it’s a good one! Unfortunately, this place doesn’t really work for any vegans out there.
Great chicken and vegetarian burger, Theirs cheese balls were awesome as well, would definitely recommend trying XXX sauce if you’re a spice lover like me. Great music/ ambience and great service; I’ve taken many friends here and they’ve all said that the burger lives up to the hype!
Amazing! Love the “Smokey Robinson” burger with bacon and chips with rosemary salt. I was not a huge fan of burgers before, but since trying this one have been constantly craving it.
Well if you are a burger freak then you have to dine in here.
They have got abhuge varieties of burgers but sadly they have only 1 option for Chicken. I am only a chicken person so i had their Fried Chicken burger served with coleslaw.
Oh my god that burger was heaven😍 you should definitely try it but you have to go empty stomach because the quantity is huge and quality is really great.
The only bad thing is that you have to wait for like 30 mins to get your fresh burger. The que is long but who cares if you got this in your bucket list.
My boyfriend came from Dubai and he was recommended this place by his friend so he took me there and i am a Londener who now lives in Dubai so anyway we went there and ordered on the waiters suggestion i forgot the name of the burgers but it was something with chicken and a massive fillet of mushroom one could be beef and one would be chicken and i swear to you i never tasted anything better in my life. Thank you patty & Bun such a small family run business by the queue outside the small resturant with just a few tables runs long outside and you have to wait for a long time to be seat and peopld wait because their burgers are soooooo worth the wait. Love it

We were desperate for a place to eat and fortunately, we found this haven. The burgers were SO good, the beer and milkshakes were great, chips were the bomb and the staff were super friendly!!! 10/10 would recommend and will try to go back here.
Favourite place whenever I'm in town; the best burgers in London in my opinion, beats five guys, shake shack, meatliquor etc...
Love the vibrant ambiance at the place with the friendly staff, in addition to that the food is amazing (as usual) and the wings with their signature spicy sauce is simply heavenly.
If I was to change anything it would be their selection of beers, as it doesn't have any drafts and all the beers are "strange" (even though I've tried all by now)!
I had the veg burger, the portobello mushroom burger. By far one of te best veggie burgers I've tried in London. It was a great substitute for a non veg burger. It's wasn't dry at all like usual bean patty burgers. The mushroom patty was fried, crispy on the outside and then soft mushrooms and goey cheese on the inside oozing out. It reminds me of a gourmet version of the shake shack shroom burger.
The French fries on the side were crispy and seasoned with rosemary salt.
Service was quick and staff were super friendly
Delicious food 👌 loved it while I was in London ❤️
The burgers 🍔 there are the best .. small place but very crowded and people keep coming yo enjoy the food
My first experience of patty and bun was at this branch. We Arrived at lunch time, famished out of our minds and we see there's a huge line. We were told there would be a waiting of 30-45 minutes. We thought of going and eating somewhere else, but for some reason waited long enough for a table. The food here is divine. So so so good and I've started disliking McDonald's and Burger King.
Patty and Bun ticks all the right boxes for a solid burger joint. A tasty bun in the form of brioche, a patty with some fat in the mix, and most importantly THEY ASK YOU HOW YOU WANT YOUR BURGER TO BE COOKED. If I wanted the nostalgic feel of a dry, overcooked patty (I don't), I'd head to the nearest McDonalds.
I'm not sure of the weird forms of legality that come into play with the food and safety here, but I don't understand how burgers became such a sensation in London when the standard became a medium well, or whatever. Beyond medium rare and its irrelevant really. Rants aside, a very good mid-range burger and solid sides. My go to if I can't get a hold of a Bleecker Black.
My favorite burger place in town. If you love burgers and wings then you mist try It. Their Ari gold burger and the bbq wings are my favorite two dishes there. The staff are friendly but sometimes the waiting time is too long, I guess thats a normal thing in London.
My favorite place in London for burgers!! I love patty and bun when ever I am in London looking for a yummy delicious juicy bite of a burger...
The atmosphere is real London feel, good London music
The burgers come out of parchment paper wrapper- no plates. The burgers are dirty by design, no haute cuisine silliness here. It's messy and delicious with cheese oozes, the sauce drips and the patty tastes good. Both smokey Robinson and Ari gold are both must have burgers here and my favorite. Ari Gold is more savory while smokey Robinson is more on the sweeter side.
It's a great place to go and enjoy your burgers.....
One of the best burger spots I’ve ever been to. I'm not a big fan of the no-reservations policy or the very loud music but the burgers is consistently good, so from time to time I go back to treat myself.
Burger was good.. NO scrap that.. it was Great! probaly one of the best i have ever had in London. Great service and frendly staff as well ; On top of that put reasonable pricing and there you are ..you have a great place to enjoy a nice burger. Note that the place is full most of the times (Friday/S/S) but if you are willing to wait 10 minutes you should be able to get a table
Love the place and the service was great friendly and fast, the burger thou its a bit over rated i don't get the fuse about at the same time i don't mind coming back.

Great burger! The place has a kind of boho chic ambience. Implacable treatment, the waiters are absolutely marvelous. And the food is perfect.
There’s a summer rooftop pop up right opposite Westfield at Shepherds Bush. It is located directly opposite to Wood Lane Station where the rooftop of the Television Centre’s multi-storey car park gets transformed into a rooftop food court on the weekends till the end of August. Catch that big...
So what is all the fuss about? The queuing for ages to get a table. I finally went in on a not so busy day. After ordering the cheese burger, the fries and the chicken in jalapeno sauce. I honestly didnt know what all the hype was about. Its a bit over rated i would say. Just an average burger. I personally couldnt eat the chicken, the skin was so slimy with no char which is personally something i cant swallow.
Probably the best chicken wings in London, confit and smokey the meat just falls off the bone.
The burgers are amazing too and the smokey Robinson with bacon and great sauce make this a winner
Went to Patty & Bun for dinner and I ordered the Lamb Shank burger. It wasn't bad but wasn't great either. I enjoyed the Wings and Thunder Thighs more than the burger.
Best burger in London. Or anywhere really. There's always a queue but it moves fast and it's worth the wait. The Smokey Robinson with the fries dipped in P&B's signature hot sauce is all you'll ever need in life.
Patty & Bun hear a lot about it as us from the UAE seem to like this place.
The place is small and has that homey feeling like most places in London.
Menu was great with a good variety of beef burgers and a option of a chicken burger.
We ordered the Chicken burger and the Spice beef burger.
Beef burger was juicy and nice !
Chicken burger was ordinary the chicken was not crispy at all .
We ordered wings as well that was again not crispy
The Rosemary fries were amazing !
Food 3.5/5
Service 3/5
Atmosphere 3.5/5
The quest for London’s best burger is a difficult one (but one I’m entirely devoted to).
But one name that comes back over and over again when I ask people around me where to find the best burgers is Patty & Bun.
The best burger joint in London with my fav burger being the Jose! Would also recommend the chicken wings which are the best I have ever had. Can get a bit busy so recommend you visit in the afternoon.
Muito bom,
Passamos por vários restaurantes, mas ficamos por este.
Tivemos que esperar um pouco, mas valeu a espera.
Os hambúrgueres são ótimos e o serviço é rápido.
Voltarei quando estiver por perto.
Heard a lot about this place. It is a very small place, so queues are pretty much a given. Straight to the food... the burger is great. Got a 'Smokey Robinson' and it tasted great!
The sides/other dishes I would not recommend in a hurry however, and the chicken wings not at all. I'd go as far as saying they ruined the chicken wings in the way they made them.
The chicken fries become a bit too chickeny after a few, but I guess they deliver on the description.
So overall, great burger but would stay clear of the chicken wings!
Expect queues, long ones, even in the rain, even at 4pm in the afternoon. This is a small restaurant serving decent burgers, not the best burgers in London, but decent ones nonetheless. The brioche bun is fabulous, the meat is well seasoned, I'm just not the biggest fan of the smokey bbq sauce that is their signature. Worth the queues? No, not really. Worth a visit? Yeah, I guess. The chicken thighs are great.
Lived up to its hype! Must try the fries that come with the roasted chicken mayo dip. Absolutely delicious. The burgers were solid, juicy, moist and tender! Tried the Ari Gold and Smokey Robinson. Would definitely come back for a hot chic burger next time.
Good food just tell them easy on the sauce.
Try the ari burger and the fries were amazing. The chicken burger was good too. I would come here again. Please not there is a wait.
If you've read my reviews you know I love burgers and I finally made it to P&B.
Also going to take a new approach to these reviews.
Good:
The meat, the bun, the chips, wings and sauce.
Bad:
The line outside looks like it gets pretty full on. Luckily we got there early and only waited 10 minutes.
Do:
Get the chicken skin sauce with the chips and put some on the burger. Next level stuff.
Don't:
Get there around 7:30 unless you like to stand outside a long time.
Would recommend.
Another amazing burger joint in the heart of london. ARI GOLD burger it is. Walked in when it opened up. Queue was already there to get their famous burgers. Must visit place.
Had wanted to find out what all the fuss was about with P&B and walking past at about 4pm after no lunch and for the first time with no queue, decided to check out the burgers. Disappointed as although the beef patty was substantial and moist, it lacked flavour and the brioche bun was crumbly and fell apart half way through eating. So not the best in London by a wide margin and although probably intentional in this hipster hangout the offstandish waiter attitude was not really called for.
3.5 for the tasty fries and chicken burger and great music! However still think not reached the burger heaven highs yet (only tried the Ari Gold cheeseburger to date). Worth a trip.
This was on my sister's bucket list for my trip to UK.
She insisted to try out the burgers there which are a hit amongst the crowd there .
And yeah they are crowded.
There is always a waiting .
The day was international burger day and we got hold of the discount coupon and went there. After some waiting outside we were seated.
The set up is small with cramped seats for a big guy like me though they compensate all in the amazing food they serve here.
I had the chicken burger and I wanted my patty crispy so it was a perfect choice .
My companion ordered traditional meat burgers which were great too.
The fries food not came with the burgers but they were crispy and perfectly cooked.
Thumbs up
If you go early, you can't wait gueue a lot .. Great hamburger, friendly waiters, you can try.. Quick serve I suppose you'll glad this hamburger
Now I don’t know about you, but I love a good list. To do lists, bucket list and better yet a foodie bucket list. So when a girlie dinner was suggested I grabbed the opportunity with both hands and took the girls to Patty&Bun . Patty&Bun is a snazzy little burger joint with only two restaurants, both in London. We picked the James street location out of convenience.
As soon as I walked in here, I was welcomed by a waitress and given a table and a menu. I had already looked at the menu online and knew what I wanted, so after quickly checking that the menu was the same, I put it down and a waiter came over and took my order. I ordered the Ari Gold cheeseburger with bacon and the chips served with roast chicken mayo and chicken salt. I was then asked how I would like the burger cooked, which I thought was a good touch. My meal came out and the waiter asked if I would like any extra condiments and then told me to enjoy my meal, which I did thoroughly. The chips were delicious and tasted like potato crisps and the mayo was a perfect side. The burger, OMG. It was so good. It was cooked perfectly, medium rare, and the cheese and sauce were oozing together with the rest of the ingredients inside the sweet brioche bun. Delicious! I would recommend this place to anyone who is after a burger in London. Service was also fantastic and the staff created a great vibe among the patrons.
Despite some letdowns like the loud music and some strangely cucumber-flavoured tap water (I hate cucumber), I have to say, hands down to the best burger and chicken wings I've tried in London so far. Queuing for around half an hour was not much of a problem knowing what was about to come. Juicy medium-cooked beef and super tender brioches can only be topped with the great rosemary salt chips. The Ari-Gold and Smoked Robinson burgers are absolute winners. Service was quick an efficient even having in mind how busy the place was on a Friday evening. Well done Patty & Bun!
I love a good burger and when I set off on a mission to find the best burger in London, one name kept coming up – Patty & Bun. We went to the cozy James Street location (there’s also one on Liverpool Street) for a casual Saturday lunch. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, but I think we picked our time just right because the line was significantly longer when we went inside than it was when we joined it. The restaurant itself is pleasantly casual. The walls are decorated with sharpie drawings on cardboard, while the brown paper place mats also serve as plates. But this is really a spot for a quick bite so the ambiance (while pleasant) is less important than the food. I was really impressed with the Smokey Robinson burger (£8.50 – beef patty, cheese, tomato, lettuce, caramelised onions, bacon, ketchup, smokey P&B mayo on a brioche). In my book, this is exactly how a burger should be – mouth-wateringly juicy, great sauces and a perfect bun.
Best burger in London? I'm not sure but it's definitely a contender.
The Ari Gold burger is a must!
Great service and super friendly.
The dining room is tiny so there is usually a queue. We were quite lucky, going around 9pm only had one person In front of is and was seated in 5 mins.
They should do take away orders too.
Need to go back asap!
I have never known a love like my love for Patty & Bun.
Patty & Bun is everything every burger joint in the world wishes it could be. It's casual, quick and delicious. I will never understand why people choose to go to Shake Shack when they could be dining at London's very own Patty & Bun.
Alright guys and girls, it's not a particularly elegant affair. It's hands on. It's going to be messy. You are probably going to need to be garden hosed after eating here but it's worth every little bit of hassle.
The Ari Gold burger is the one I always go for. Rosemary fries on the side and, if I'm feeling extra hungry or generous with my cash, THUNDER THIGHS!
I've never had to queue at this place but I have walked past when there are queues and let me tell you... there are sometimes people waiting down the street 3 or 4 doors down trying to get a table here. So plan accordingly if you don't have the luxury of queueing for an hour.
I do wish they had a better drink selection. Shakes would be a great addition to the menu and for some reason, the beer of choice here is Red Stripe.
I went to this place with a group of friends on my engagement celebration. Highlights and my favorites were the smoked haddock foam with the poached egg yolk and cornflakes. The beef was so juicy and nicely cooked. I can honestly say each course was a pure delight and each dish delivered the same high standard. We had the wine accompaniments with each course which complimented the courses well. We loved it. Thank you and keep up the good work.
One of the tastiest burgers i've ever tried, and the sauce adds a really nice flavor to it which makes the combination even better.
A tiny place with a very compact menu. My first reaction was on how the choices were limited. But, once you go through the list you realise that there's something for everybody. I met up with some friends on a Sunday. After a 10 minute wait, we got in. We ordered Jose Jose Chilly Burgers, fries with Rosemary salt and Winger Winger Chicken Dinner. Every thing we ordered was excellent. Have to say that this was one of the messiest burgers I've had - but it was delicious. Especially ask for the chilly sauce to go with your burger. I'm definitely going to be back and will recommend it to others.
The only downside was that as soon as you would finish a part of the meal - those attending the table would come and snatch the empty container or the wrapper. This almost felt like we were being rushed through the meal. But otherwise was a fab experience!
Chilli burgers were not chilli at all but overall really juicy burgers. Rosemary salt chips were no different to salted chips but they had an amazing crunch to it.
Best Burger in London.. LOVE THIS PLACE! Makes me hungry even thinking about it...
Very good service, Thanks you!
Get in early - great burger. Loved the P&B smokey sauce, juicy burger with light brioche bun. Excellent flavours, recommend the sticky chicken wings to go with. Drank "god lager", nice pale lager and finished with a cheeky peanut butter choc ice.
Get in early though, otherwise you'll be waiting outside in a queue for a very long while. Totally worth it though. Great place for a meal with friends - provided you get someone to buy some drinks for the long queue ahead.
Best burgers ever! Messy to eat but absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. Restaurant small but great buzz. Friendly service. Highly recommended!!
Yes, I know… It’s yet another burger review. This time though it wasn’t exactly planned. Before visiting Patty & Bun, I’d arranged to meet up with my cousin for lunch up Central London and we’d decided on another place (which will remain nameless) as I had been wanting to review it and thought I’d kill two birds with one stone. However, after reading up on the place I’d found out that there weren’t many positive things being said and didn’t want to ruin an entire lunch just to grab a review. I got in touch with my cousin and we decided at the last minute to switch to Patty & Bun… And boy am I glad we did.
Today two strange things happened. The first was this sudden jump in the temperature that happens around this time every year, but still manages to shock me. The second was that strolling past Patty & Bun while enjoying this weather, I found that there was only a twenty minute queue! Talk about having a good day. Imagine saying to somebody ten years ago, that in the future you’ll thank you’re lucky stars when a queue for a burger is less than an hour. Well it shows just how far us Londoners are willing to go for a good one. People will even venture into the deep and dangerous south for a taste of Dirty Burger. As much as the trend had died down this year, burger joints still are the go-to place when you need a treat. The menu, just like the decor, keeps things simple like all good burger joints should (take a hint Hache). The only difference here being you can also get your chops messy on a chicken or a lamb burger. Not for me thanks. It should only ever be beef. So I stuck with what I
For a long time, I've been excited to let myself explore the London food scene in terms of its basic foundations. What good is it if the fine-dining scene is spectacular but the street-food scene is uninspiring? After all, it's not like most of us can afford fine-dining experiences on a daily basis! I've always loved burgers and it is a meal pretty much everyone enjoys and loves so I thought it would make the best test of the culinary foundations of London. In the last few years, so many burger joints have popped up in London. They tend to be small in size, have a no-reservations policy and an indie vibe. I have tried to capture all sorts of atmospheres with the restaurants from the burgers made in the dingy corners of Soho to the more decadent burgers made in glamorous Mayfair. However, there are some fantastic burger joints that I didn't include on here such as that of Tommi's Burger Joint because I've already written a review. 6. BAR BOULUD This was my second visit and fortunately,
It was on one of these occasions that I picked up this amazing cheeseburger (17/20) and rosemary fries (14/20) from the very popular Patty & Bun. If you live in London you probably have already heard of Patty & Bun as they`ve constantly been mentioned as one of the best places for burger and indeed the burger is pretty awesome. The chips were good but not the best I`ve had. My only slight disappointment with the burger was the bun. I`m quite picky with the bun as I don`t like too much of it but otherwise everything else was pretty good and definitely a place I would come back to. At least for another takeaway.
Patty and Bun is one of the best burger joints in London from the reviews and recommendation I have seen.. So now Its time for me to check it out...
I went to Patty&Bun after recommendations from a friend saying it was the best burger she had in London, and it really is up there among the best of them. We went as a group of seven on a weekend in March when it was still cold and snowing. They annoyingly do not take reservations, like most popular restaurants these days. The queue was not very long, but since we were such a big group we had to wait for longer for a table large enough to fit us all. The staff kindly gave us an umbrella, but it was still freezing. After about an hour we were cold and hangry, and we started to turn on each other. We decided to split up into two groups on separate tables, which we should have just done in the first place. I quickly ordered an Ari Gold Cheeseburger. On the side we had Chips with Rosemary Salt and House Salad. The cheese on the burgers is a bit too runny, which also makes the burger look a bit sloppy in pictures. The bun is perfect, as is the garnish, especially the pickled onion. It’s
I had once had a takeaway from Patty & Bun that my boyfriend brought back home with him, and I did not really find the burger or the fries that amazing, so for a long time I did not understand what the hype about Patty & Bun was. After many times walking past this place and seeing crazy queues outside, I decided I had to go once more to see whether I had been right in my critical opinion about this place. Patty & Bun started as a pop up but now has a permanent place in Marylebone, close to Bond Street tube station. They apparently use the best ingredients you can get, and try to use British ingredients whenever possible. I decided to go to Patty & Bun with my boyfriend and his friend Jimmy for dinner. I knew that the queues could be crazy long and I tried to avoid this by going there relatively early. We arrived at 18.00 and had to wait about ten minutes
Patty and Bun is probably one of the most talked about places in town, gaining lots of fans who wait long queues and fill the local every day to have their burgers, but is it really that good? Believe the hype, this place is fantastic. We ordered the ‘Ari Gold’ and the ‘Smokey Joe’ (with caramelized onion) and both were beyond our expectations. The meat is delicious and cooked close to perfection, but what makes their burgers even better is their own smokey mayo and that brioche bun, so soft and tender it made the experience an absolute pleasure. The chips are the traditional skin-
We loved Patty & Bun. I'm not usually a fan of the 'no reservations' type of gaff, but you'll never have to wait long here. People are coming and going all the time and they serve food quickly. A resounding thumbs up from us and a huge thank you to the Critical Couple for writing such an enticing review!
My two self-confessed burger addict friends Ross and Paul have been going on about Patty & Bun ever since it opened, throwing around claims like “London’s Best Burger”. With bold claims like this, and a killer reputation in general, getting here for a burger was high on my list.
..Verdict: it was one of the best burger I had in London.
If you walk down James Street on an evening, before too long your path will be blocked by a hungry hoard. Fear not, it just means you’ve stumbled upon Patty & Bun. It’s pretty convenient really. Three of London’s most talked about burger places; Meat Liquor , Tommi’s Burger Joint and Patty & Bun are situated just a stone’s throw from one another, between Bond Street Station and Wigmore Street. Prior to this “burger invasion”, this area was home to mainly generic restaurants, aimed at tourists, so I say, “long live Burgertown.” Patty & Bun only found a permanent home in October and has quickly developed quite a following. Prior to this, they’d made a number of acclaimed cameo appearances, popping up at places like The Doodle Bar in Battersea and The Endurance on Berwick Street. We arrived at 7:15 on a cold Tuesday evening, by which time the queue already extended out across the pavement. Don’t worry though, this isn’t going to be one of those annoying blog posts that just complains abo
These are definitely my kind of burgers. The softer buns that you can actually just wrap your smackers around, the pink, flavoursome patty, delicious crunch of pickled onions, and the dripping, melted cheese. De-li-cious.
The Travelling Tikki
+3.5
So we finally get ushered in. I loved the place immediately. It’s like a garage been converted into a restaurant. Rugged, unpolished wood, lampshades with the paint chipping off. Super casual ambience, friendly staff, and laughter all around. I couldn’t wait for the food!
It’s a tiny joint, not as edgy-hipster-trilby as MeatLiquor, I liked it. I ordered the Smokey Robinson – a 6oz-ish patty, caramelised onions (ooh, animal-style), cheese, bacon, lettuce, what tasted like a roasted tomato, and BBQ sauce – and it was a glorious, sloppy, juicy triumph of burgernomics.
For every new burger joint that opens, it serves as a constant reminder that times are tough. Cameron’s Britain. As London continues to act like some kind of surrogate mother to souped-up American fast-food, the market veers ever closer towards saturation point. In doing so, cracks are beginning to appear with sub-par offerings spawning in the wake of their progenitors, *cough* BRGR. For those who’ve seen and had enough of a patty in a bun for one lifetime, the definitively named “Patty & Bun” may come as an agonising new addition. It’s everything that once had many of you foaming at the mouth, that now has some of you clenching your fist: The Spartan interior, the mismatched chairs that belong in a classroom, tables so tightknit you and your neighbour could well be viewed as congenital twins. “Ari Gold” cheeseburger £7.00 The staff are enthusiastic and very laid back, but none more so than owner Joe Grossman – a flimsy and dishevelled, beanie-wearing humanoid who you could more
Who doesn’t love Patty & Bun? Once, you sink your teeth into one of their burger creations your taste buds start tingling all over. At the FEAST festival we tried one of their latest creations, Big Poppa (10/10), a phenomenal burger that’s set to keep London’s burger aficionados singing Patty & Bun’s praises.
I ate 3 burgers whilst I was here but I am just going to break down the burger that Patty & Bun is famous for, the Ari Gold

I opted for the Smokey Robinson Burger (£8) which was a beef patty with cheese, tomato, lettuce, mounds of caramelised onions, bacon, ketchup and smokey P&B sauce sandwiched between a soft sweet brioche bun. Good lord, this was a wet and sloppy delight – I thought I’d died and gone to heaven.
When I first started writing this blog I had ideas that I would be talking a lot about burgers, you can never have too many burgers, right? Wrong, I think I've currently hit a bun wall, as I'm starting to crave anything but. It was much more exciting six months ago, when a couple of burger restaurants popped up, now I can't keep track of them all, still when I finally sit down to enjoy a burger I realise why I became obsessed with them in the first place. Patty & Bun first started trading in London as a van/pop. Serving their burgers at the doodle bar in Battersea and a short residency at the endurance pub is Soho, which was massively successful and gained them a loyal following of burger fanatics making it viable for them to be able to set up their own restaurant. Vans/pop ups are a great way to test the water as so many traders have discovered. After a short queue, seated and welcomed by who I first thought was a crazy waiter with far too much energy, I soon realised it was Joe Gross
Four of us order Patty & Bun Joe’s staple – the infamous ‘Ari Gold Cheeseburger’, while Kelly ventures out and chooses the ‘Jose Jose Chilli Burger’. We can’t resist from a couple of side orders including the trip chips and chicken wings. I’ve decided to continue my latest craze of ‘tweet up’ style comments to describe the experience, 140 characters at a time…
...once we arrived at Patty and Bun, I knew we made the right choice to come here for dinner. Because it smells soooooo amazing that you can even notice the aroma flowing out of the little restaurant. By the time we arrived at P&B at 7ish, the restaurant was all packed already and people were lining up to get in. It took us 50 minutes before we got our seats. BUT, it was definitely, definitely worth the wait (I’m willing to do anything for good food). T
Joe Grossman is a man on a mission. An alumnus of London Bridge restaurant Roast, he's taken the London burger scene by the horns and under the 'Patty and Bun' moniker has held numerous pop-ups and residencies throughout 2012 - i've previously covered his stint at the doodle bar in Battersea and his residency in Soho.
If you expect the Ronny J special (read Ron Jeremy) to be a hot dog, you'd be wrong. The 'actor', whose autobiography is entitled The Hardest Working Man in Hollywood, has been immortalised alongside the fictional Ari Gold and the real Smokey Robinson in having a burger named after him at Patty & Bun, and it's a keeper.
I remember the time when Patty & Bun was doing his pop up in Doodle Bar or even the days of the Endurance pub. The charismatic and friendly Joe working hard to give London his take on a burger, probably the same initiative that created movements such as Meatwagon before becoming a mass production. The place Similar menu from the beginning with a couple twists. Six burgers, wings, and fries. New location in Marylebone area, a small place with first in first serve policy. Industrial style with cardboard art, strong burger aromas, and some sort of disco music as background
A few months ago myself and a disreputable trio of blokes from work had a delicious burger at the Patty & Bun pop-up at the Endurance pub in Berwick St in Soho (and a few beers of course). So it was super exciting to hear that the P&B crew were opening a permanent establishment in James St, just round the corner from St Christopher's Place (or near Selfridges for those unfamiliar with the area). The same rag tag bunch and I went there for lunch today and as much as I am all for variation I couldn't go past the Ari Gold burger - beef patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickled onions, ketchup, smoky mayo (their wonderful secret sauce) on a perfectly toasted brioche bun. Not surprisingly, given their name - the quality of the meat and the bun are top notch, in fact I would go so far as to say the bun is the best I have had, or at least on a par with Umami Burger in LA. The burgers come wrapped in wax paper, accompanied by delicious "skin on chips" with rosemary salt - it's a rough 'n re
Well I cannot say I’m glad to be back after 3 fantastic weeks wandering through the northern reaches of Yunnan Province, so after eating some delicious and some yuck Chinese food for three weeks we were in the mood for something a little different, a little heavier, a little fattier.
Amidst all the flurry of travel eating last year, my beloved London didn’t get much airtime on the blog. Here are some local spots that slipped through the cracks – brace yourself, it’s gonna be a long one! Judging by the queues snaking out of Bubbledogs there are few left in London who haven’t heard of the 4 month old hot dog and champagne bar. The dogs are great (I am partial to the Breakie with a fried egg, tomato relish and black pudding) but for me the real draw is the extensive list of rare grower champagnes. If standing in line isn’t your thing, book a seat at their Kitchen Table at the back of the restaurant which offers an incredible multi-course dinner eaten on a sleek 19-seater counter surrounding the open kitchen (review to come). A couple of streets from Bubbledogs you’ll find Yaki . Skip the pre-made okonomiyaki that don’t taste particularly authentic and the rice burgers, which although tasty, fall apart in the hand. Instead pop in for a Taiyaki (fish-shaped cake with va
I have burgers in a numerous places in London but this place ranks above all of them. The burgers are finger licking good.
Honestly, I've only ever had takeaway from Patty & Bun because whenever I want to go the queue is always too long. The burgers probably taste even better in the restaurant, but it's a testament to the deliciousness of the food that they taste good after travelling a couple of miles!
The burgers are just amazing - their homemade sauce and the brioche buns add so much value. I'm not the hugest fan of their chips - I prefer the chips from Tommy's Burger Joint down the road - but they do the job.
Patty & Bun holds a special place in my heart because it's the first (and only) thing I ate after running my first marathon in April 2014. I devoured it!
This is the best burger joint in London. Maybe in the world.
The burgers are moist, juicy and messy which is exactly how they should be. My favourites are the Ari Gold, which is a cheeseburger with onions and relish. I also enjoy the Smokey Robinson which has mounds of caramelised onions.
Once you have this burger, nothing else will ever taste the same. It's that good.
Delicious burgers and great choices I like that you don't need and cant book means it's a free for all and the queues is always worth it. Great staff and fast service and the quality is still there everytime.
As much I tend to find a more juicier burger i keep failing , as it proves to be one of London finest burgers!
What to expect from the Ari Gold cheese burger; Had a well cooked patty that didn't taste dry at all rather its juiciness & flavor were still there; Placed on a soft & puffy brioche bun that I believe it adds a bit of sweetness which is acceptable because it doesn't ruin the whole taste & for that reason the hand cut salty rosemary fries clicks perfectly as a side order with burger. Now, as for wings that day it was a disappointment! Chicken had a weird taste, thats what I can only say; Anyways, moving back; Its a cheesy messy burger when presented but I assure you it will mess with your buds & make you droll all over yourself!
in my opinion the burgers are not worth the hype. good variety, but the quality of beef is better at honest burger or tommys! Their fries are very good though, but for the amount of wait i would rather go to the other two i mentioned!
From humble beginnings, the Patty & Bun revolution is currently in full swing and like the queue for one of their devilishly good produce, there's seemingly no end in sight. Such is their success that they took the move to expand to two locations (in Marlyebone and more recently Liverpool St which I have also written a post for).
Ask any London-based burger lover their favourite and without fail, Patty & Bun will be one of the first named, (if not the first) and it is so for good reason; with a reputation for serving the best sit-down burger in town and arguably one of the top you'll find on the streets, Patty & Bun has positioned itself as the undoubted champion of the burger scene. The thing that sets it apart? The MEAT which just screams amazing and is just so moist and flavoursome. Couple that with perfect cooking technique and your tasting a burger at its absolute best.
The menu is so quality that I could pick blindfolded and be happy with my choice. On days though when I don't have a blindfold handy, you'll see me with my regular order of a 'Jose Jose' (I love the chilli chorizo chutney) and a side of skin on fries.
If you love burgers, a Patty & Bun burger is an absolute must and you need to try it for yourself to understand. If you're not a burger lover, then this may be the one that changes that. However, you must be patient as 9 times out of 10, you will be queuing with the whole of London - but good things come to those who wait.

This was a good burger! Damn! Had the Ari Gold - which is basically a cheese burger and a chilli burger (with chorizo!!!) . Oh Mother of God! Wow! It was unreal! And they have this chili sauce. You have to ask for it...I think it's home made. I wanted to steal it! It was so good. The waitress warned us that the meal was going to get messy! And it did! On it got really messy! And I loved every bit of it!
This tiny restaurant hidden behind Selfridges near St Christopher's Place has been the most highly recommended burger joint so far. Friends and colleagues have exclaimed at its brilliance and the queue outside the door (on a Monday night n'all!), doesn't lie
Whilst waiting for our table we tucked into the stunning confit wings. The meat is so incredibly soft and delicate; falling off the bone as soon as it reaches the mouth. The wings are smothered in a sweet, sticky and hot BBQ sauce that had a texture all of its own which is quite unlike any BBQ sauce I've tried before. The tub (again, less washing up), contains 5-6 wings allowing two diners to easily share the dish. Topped with fresh spring onions, this a great starter option whilst waiting for a table, or the main event.
The main course arrived within 10 minutes of ordering in more of those cardboard tubs and paper wrapping. Clearly Patty & Bun have an aversion to washing up! The portion sizes were excellent for two people to share and the burgers were towering with their gorgeous fillings.
The Burgers: My Hot Chick burger was really rich in flavour. The chicken was Southern Fried and topped with salad, pickled cucumbers and garlic aioli all inside a soft, bouncy brioche bun. You can see how shiny fresh the tops of these buns were in my photos, and the choice of brioche gave a sweetness to my dish which after eating half the burger became quite overwhelming. That said, the mix of textured and flavours in the Hot Chick was really unique and quite delicious.
My guest's "Smokey Robinson" was a total state inside the bun but in the way that you know its gonna be good! The beef patty was smothered in BBQ sauce, mayo and cheese then topped with crisps of bacon. The addition of lettuce and pickles gave a touch of greenery to the burger, but overall it was exactly what you want from this fast food; meaty and delicious.
The jalepeno thighs, like the confit wings, were absolutely amazing in their texture. The meat just fell away from the bone and had a soft, buttery like texture. The jalepeno butter was really interesting because it wasn't too hot but had a background heat that built up with every mouthful. The slaw was nice but nothing to write home about, and sadly the rosemary salt on our fries was a little lost.
Overall I would definitely recommend Patty & Bun as one of the best burger joints in London. It's not much of a date location (as you'll have burger down your face), but if you're with friends, your partner or family then get stuck in. I would thoroughly recommend the wings and the Smokey Robinson burger if you fancy a full-on naughty food experience. Be sure to make a note of the playlist on the day too as you can find this on Spotify and look super-cool at your next dinner party.
These are some of the best burgers I've had in the recent months. It's a cozy place, with industrial style decor and small wood tables. I ordered their mushroom veggie burger which was amazing, not too heavy. Their buns are fresh and so tasty, it makes a huge difference! Their fries topped with rosemary are also mouth watering. It's important to note that the burgers weren't that greasy and I didn't feel like a piece of lard after stuffing my face (which is mostly how I feel after most burger joints).
Ambience is causal, and they place great Indie-pop tunes, just at the right level so that it doesn't take over conversations. Must go, and don't wear anything light colored. Guaranteed mess while eating! Enjoy!
Must try (one of the joys of life) and easily one of the best burger and wings joints around the world.
The lamb burger is great but I recommend the Ari Gold burger, because it is just the perfect beef burger. The fries are also fantastic and the value for money is one of the best u can get around London.
This review is probably going to be pretty short cause there is not much to criticise this incredible burger place.
The ari gold is incredible, it is juicy the bun is perfection the amount of condiments in the burger itself is crazy great. The fries aren't perfect but honestly not bad. The chicken wings are another thing to rave about. They are incredible, they fall off the bones but are still crispy on the outside. This is a place that you need to try, without fail.
The other burgers aren't bad either, the chicken burger is very juicy.
The setting is extremely simplistic, just a word of advice remember that you'll have to wait in line during lunch or dinner on any day. Its incredible
I just want to say that this is one of the best burger places in London and even if you have to queue until you get a table it's worth the wait.
The meat is exactly how you ask to be done, I had mine medium and it was so delicious which went perfect with the rosemary fries.
Staff is quite helpful. The place is brilliant, I can't fault it.
This place offers good value food and we just loved it. The food is excellent and as are the portions in which it is served which are quite filling. The burgers were awesome and I enjoyed mine thoroughly. The ambience is just fine but the loud music can hinder your conversation. The service is pretty quick and the staff is quite warm and friendly as well. I had a lovely experience here and would love to come back here again.
This place surely lives up to its hype. We waited for 10 minutes to get a table and the wait was definitely worth it. I ordered a burger which was mouth-watering and extremely delicious. It was one of the most flavorful burger I have ever had. The staff was also courteous and friendly. Overall, it was a good experience.
I had most amazing burger of all times. I had juicy lamb burger and to my surprise it was very delicious and the portions were pretty filling too. This place is pretty much hyped and still they will provide you with excellent service. The staff was very friendly and they were pretty quick too.
I will be back here and this time i will try Spicy Chicken burger.
I visited this place expecting to indulge in a good burger. The burgers here a greasy, fatty, luscious and full of flavor. It is messy, but you will definitely enjoy every bite in your mouth. The chicken wings and fries were also delectable and just as good as the burgers. I would definitely recommend this place.
I had some great burgers here! My recommendation would be the Lambshank Redemption. The sides I ordered were great too and i haven't ever eaten food like that before! The chicken highs are good too but a bit hot.
Take away orders stop much sooner than they close. Also it is very quick and efficient.
To describe this place in a nutshell, they serve the best burgers in London and the best Barbecue wings I've ever had. They have a huge variety of burgers including chicken burger, lamb burger and a couple of vegan options as well. I ordered a Smokey Robinson burger and a Winger winger chicken dinner. The burger was fantastic, with beef patty, smokey P&B mayo and some other delightful ingredients. The chicken wings were the best and were genuinely mouth-watering.
Everything about this place was nice. The staff was extremely helpful, they even made a burger without patty for me. It was divine. The food id freshly prepared, perfectly cooked, and tastes amazing. The music is a little club like but not rude.
Reservation is recommended as otherwise you will have to wait for 10-15 minutes outside.
The wait is worth it as their burgers are perfect!
You’d regret if you don’t double the patty, as it is delicious.
The music is loud but comfortable enough for people to talk.
Really loved it!
We visited this place on a weekend and had to wait for about 20 minutes to get a table but I must say that the entire meal was worth the wait. I strongly recommend you all to try this place and I am quite sure that you won't be disappointed.
This place really blows your mind off for good burgers. Me and my brothers are a big burger fans so we decided this place and ordered for smokey, jose and chicken. The portions were so generous that nobody could finish the burgers in one go. The side of rosemary dish was also very appetizing and delectable. Only the wings and thighs were nothing great in our order to write about.
This place is small, crammed and always seems crowded. One is disappointed to know that they cannot have a nice private dinner with friends or loved ones here as the place is always over buzzing with crowd. Having ordered our burgers, we had to wait for a short time of ten minutes. The short wait was worth it as the burgers served to us were delicious. Ours was a take away order. The beef was pink and tender and we were absolutely delighted to experience the subtle flavour the gherkins surpassed.
When this place was first started, the experience we had with their burgers was so memorable that we had to visit again to see if it was still as good. We went quite early for lunch, and luckily got a table. I ordered a Hulk Hogan burger, and my partner took the Ari gold cheeseburger. Our order was served to us amazingly quickly, all ready to take away. My partner's cheeseburger was amazing, it was meaty, cheesy and as lovely as we anticipated. My burger was enormous, amazingly cheesy and a true delight. The fries that were served were also enough for two people. This place is definitely as good as ever.
This restaurant has quite a lively atmosphere and the service is also a pretty standard one. The Ari Gold burger is awesome. I have visited this place a number of times and never seem to get enough of it. The seating is also an informal one and I am sure that you will enjoy your time if you are planning to visit this restaurant.
Who does not like to watch people who absolutely love their job.
The staff here is so friendly and always smiling, and such good vibes you get from them, it makes you happy.
Not only that, the food is also delicious here.
The place was full when we visited and were asked to wait for 10 mins, which we happily obliged.
Shall definitely visit again.
The food here is pretty decent.the attention to detail is commendable. There is very good presentation of food. The best bit is the staff is willing to help you choose the best bet from the menu. The cocktail section however, was the most enjoyable bit for me, much more than the food!
This restaurant serves some really delicious burgers. The setting is quite an informal and the ambience is pretty good. I stick with the Ari Gold burger which is quite tasty and I am pretty sure the other ones are too delicious. I would recommend you all to try this place sometime.
These are possibly the best burgers in town. They are delicious and palpable to the limit. Words are not enough to describe the greatness of the juicy meat which is used inside these burgers. The restaurant is tiny but always buzzing with crowd. The overall environment is amicable and inviting
The quality of burgers on offer is top notch. I recently went there and can safely say that it was the best burger that I ever had till date. It was delightful and completely satisfied my taste buds. The atmosphere was quite lively though the seating space was quite limited. The staff was friendly and the service was a pretty standard one. I would strongly recommend you all to visit this restaurant.
I absolutely loved the smoky burger with the juicy meat as it was lightly stuffed inside the brioche bun. I would recommend everyone to stick to the regular sticky chicken wings to compliment the flavour perfectly. Please book a table in advance to avoid waiting long enough in the queue outside.
The staff here was very pleasant. The burgers that they are offering you are very delicious and at the same time they are filling too.
they serve you your burger with a lot of mayo and ketchup which will make your day.
I would surely recommend this place.
On a perfect day weather wise, i decided to spend time and enjoy some good food at a restaurant. Came to this place and could not be more glad. To begin with considering all the factors in favor of this place, got a place inside after a decent 20 minutes queue! Was a good experience!
Made to order, the burger I ordered was rich and melted in the mouth. The accompaniments were fresh and light to the tummy. The flavour was strong and there was a pungent taste of juiciness to the entire ensemble. This place is a definite recommendation to anyone who has a craving for delicious burgers.
This is must visit place! I had tried the joint after reading a lot of reviews. This place serves one of the best burgers i have ever tried in the city. The wait till the seating was not quite long but was definitely worth it! I have to compliment the extremely efficient who were amicable and fast. I have to say you have got to try this place as i can't rate it any higher than this!
The positive reviews here made me want to try this place once. The staff was very amicable and offered to seat us as soon as possible. The place is tiny and can be cramped. In spite of the lack of space, everything seems immaculately placed. The food makes you forget everything around you, so good! The smokey robinson burger is a must try for everyone, even for those who do not like burgers. This place is worth every minute you wait for it.
This is where I had the best burger I have ever laid my hands on in London. It stands a class apart from all other burger places. The Smokey Robinson is my most preferred burger but the cheeseburger is not bad either. They use very high quality ingredients. The place is not on the affordable side but if compared with other places, it offers very good value for money. Please keep in mind that it is closed on Mondays.
They have great burgers - full of flavors , you won't stop until you finish your plate clean.
The chips are also very good and my friend had chicken wings which according to her were the best till date. I really liked the staff here and I would recommend this place to everyone.
If you're looking for an indulgent, decadent meal, this is the place to go!
The restaurant itself is very small, and usually has a massive queue outside. Luckily, when I visited, there was a table available so I didn't have to wait, but even if I did have to wait, the food is so good that I wouldn't actually mind!
The selection of burgers isn't that large, however they are awesome. I tried the "Ari Gold" (from Entourage), which was phenomenal. I also had the chips, and the chicken wing platter, which was quite average. Further, the service here is very good, staff are helpful and attentive, which always positively complements a dining experience.
The prices are incredibly reasonable, and identical when comparing it to other burger joints such as GBK, however the burgers here are much, much better! Would definitely recommend a visit.
The thing about the Patty and Bun burger is that it's an awesome burger, with a twist. So if you love burgers, but want something a little different, this is definitely for you. The burger differentiates itself because of all the sauces it has, which adds more flavour to the taste, setting it aside from the standard beef and cheese.
The chain is a lot like a fast food chain with little seating area, and a take away window, so you can just pick up your order. I'm never a fan of takeaway. I feel like it ruins the taste of the food, just because it's not piping hot from the kitchen, and reheating just doesn't cut it. So when you're planning on going to party and bun, if suggest picking an off peak time to avoid queuing, or to just call and see how busy they are to get an idea of how long you'll have to wait. The burger is definitely a must try.
Good burger but definetly not as good as its reputation! The service was average, the food wasnt that warm, the fries were absolutly great but not the burger. Plus there is a huge waiting line! Not going again probably!
Simply a must go in London, it cannot disappoint!
Ambiance: It is quite a small joint, with very limited spacing. Definitely plan ahead before you come here, or else at a busy hour you will be looking at a wait of around an hour. Unfortunately, I did have to wait an hour, but in this location waiting an hour is not a big deal. Once you are inside, the setting is nothing impressive, very simple; though this is what I like about this place. There's nothing fancy to it, yet still a great casual vibe.
Service: The service is good and quick. They were friendly and helpful throughout our meal.
Food: Where do I start? The burgers are amazing!! The menu is very small, but I trust you'll find something to suit your palate. I highly recommend the 'Smokey Robinson' burger; the caramelized onions with the bacon really mix so beautifully on this burger. The thought of it is getting me excited to go back!
Value: For roughly £8 a burger, I think it is very reasonably priced!
Would I get back?: Yes yes yes. Highly recommend this place, just simple one of the best burger joints in London.
Hands down the best burger place in London. Who does not like a crispy, juicy burger with fries?
Patty & Bun has a very limited menu but trust me you are going to fall in love with their burgers. The ‘Hot Chic’ Chicken burger and Ari Gold Burger (Who wouldn't want to try Ari Gold?) are my absolute favourites. The Chicken wings are a big thumps up.
It is located in St Christopher's place which is one of the most lively streets in London.I would suggest you beware of the long queue as this place is always packed. Lucky for me I live right next door. If you havn't tried their burgers yet you are surely missing out.
If you're looking for the most delicious burgers in London, then Patty and Bun is for you. Located in the heart of St Christopher's place, this small little restaurant has some of the best fast food ive ever had.
Their Hot Chick chicken burger is something that gets me salivating for more, the crispy fried chicken marinated in buttermilk, with garlic aioli in a buttery brioche bun is my food heaven. Alongside this, if you order the confit chicken wings, I promise you, you're in for one of the best treats of your life!
Despite being quite small in size, the venue is quite appropriate to the simplistic nature of the food that is served here. Usually quite difficult to get a table here, so be prepared to wait or a take away!
finally made my way down to this place after hearing so much about it. Given all the hype my expectations were high and in the end not only were they met, they were exceeded.
The Ari Gold burger is the one! The meat, the cheese, the bun and the sauces are all spot on and when combined together it's simply unbelievable. This is one of those places that really makes you realise what an incredible experience a really good meal can create.
The only thing I find a bit peeving is the the fact that this place gets incredibly busy unless you plan ahead it's going to be difficult to get a place to sit especially if you're with a group. However, don't let this deter you this place is worth it. I'll personally intend to come back again and again and I have the winger winger chicken dinner in my sights next.
I've been here 4 times and haven't had a bad experience ever- the burgers are consistently delicious (I'd highly recommend the Ari Gold or the specials which change regularly), but the best things are the chicken wings (Winger Winger Chicken Dinner), which are drenched in a delicious BBQ sauce. Service is friendly and funny, and prices are what you'd expect for a gourmet burger in Central London. The music is great too!
The BEST burgers in town. Juicy, full of flavour and I always want to go back. Not the most extensive menu, but it's about quality not quantity!
Went for the Ari Gold burger this time. Mouthwatering.
Keep in mind, it is an extremely small joint and you could be waiting up to an hour or so on busy nights. There is almost always a wait, but trust me, it's worth it!! (This is the only reason it didn't get 5/5 from me).
It's tucked away in James Street, in the lively St. Christopher's place. Unlike most of the others, there's no outdoor seating. Inside is a little cramped but I don't mind that if the food makes up for it.
The best burger I had so far in London! Medium-rare cooked, very tasty and palatable. I also tried out their onion rings which were extremely good and crunchy.
Patty and Bun is located just 5 minutes away Bond Street Station. The place is very friendly and cozy; however, I had to wait a good 15 minutes before getting a table with my friends because it is usually quite busy! My advice is to go there in small groups of three or four people. The orders are quick and the staff is fantastic. In terms of prices, you spend a good 15 £ to have a complete meal but it is definitely worth it.
Just enjoy the experience and Go for it!
After two failed attempts to visit this restaurant, was successful in having take away from them twice. Spectacular burgers specially the Smokey Robinson, The Lamb Shank Redemption and the Portobello dig it burger. The fries are great too.
Patty and Bun is the best burger in London. Is that what you were wondering? Well there you go, it is. Done.
I’m tempted to leave it at that, but I can’t resist a chance to relive my Ari Gold Cheeseburger blow by blow. What strikes you about the P&B burgers is how every layer comes together in delightful symphony. The soft brioche bun, the gooey orange cheese, the home made ‘Smokey’ mayo – it all fits together like some sort of delicious Burger Megazord.
As with most good shows, the star is most definitely the meat. If one were to plot an spider chart of induced highs, P&B patties would be level with MDMA or waking up to remember you’ve already ironed your clothes for work (thug life.) Pink in the middle, they are orgasmically juicy and tender but with enough bite to not fall apart in your hands.
The Smokey Robinson was met with similar adoration by V over the way. It’s pretty much the same as the cheeseburger but tucks some bacon and caramelised onions under the bonnet. Personally I’d stick with the classic – when the burgers are this good just keep it simple.
Sides don’t let the, erm, side down either. Chips are perfectly seasoned with rosemary salt and keep their crispness, despite getting blanked for a good five minutes in the wake of the burgers. ‘Winger winger chicken dinner’ is the anti-KFC chicken wing; slow cooked, falling off the bone and lathered in throat-scoldingly good bbq sauce.
I truly don’t think burgers get better than this. I’d eaten at P&B before but wanted to wait until visiting again before reviewing – and it turned out to be just as amazing. Meatier, dirtier, luckier, more honest (dammit) than even the finest London patty establishments. Old news perhaps – but those Ari Golds only get better with age.
Just a few streets away from Meat Liquor on St. Christopher Lane near Oxford Street is a burger joint that’s been getting rave reviews since it opened. Having seen the lines that snake out of this tiny restaurant and hearing about the infamous hour and a half long wait times, I never really actively sought out a visit. Until one sunny day, when I was in Hyde Park with a friend and heard him moan about how hungry he was – a flash of inspiration hit me. It was 4 o’clock in the afternoon and highly unlikely that there would be a hungry crowd waiting outside Patty & Bun and my friend in his hunger-induced state, having no idea what or where Patty & Bun was, agreed to join me.
And I was spot on – only three people ahead of us and we sat down in minutes and ordered our burgers with fries and the much lauded smoked confit chicken wings with barbecue sauce. The burgers came on fluffy brioche buns and the meat was char-grilled, slightly pink on the inside and oozing with ketchup, mayo and cheese. The chicken wings were outstanding, the meat was falling off the bone, and the skin was crispy with sweetish tang of barbecue sauce.
To be honest, I was more entranced with the wings than the burger. After that explosion of flavour from the chicken wings, the burgers became a secondary focus for me. Not too say it wasn't good, the bun, meat and cheese all make for one messy glorious combo and it totally hits the spot and I’ll definitely go back again if there’s no gigantic line outside. But personally, I prefer the Meat Liquor burgers – the bread is different; softer and the quality of the meat really stands out. Also ML is much larger so you’re more likely to get seated faster.
Nonetheless both places are pretty awesome, though you are in for a messy time. I used probably around 20 napkins by the time I was done with the burger. The staff at Patty & Bun are quirky and friendly and double bonus points for dessert –old-school choc ices which are ice-cream sticks covered in a casing of chocolate. I had the peanut butter with chocolate and it was perfect for a hot summer day.
No reservations but they do take-away which sounds like perfectly good idea to me. Grab a burger, sit in the park, make a mess of yourself and then have a nap. Best way to spend a Sunday afternoon :)
30 min wait to get in. But lived the Appleton and ginger beer carafe and the winger winger chicken dinner. Nice staff. Small space.
Undoubtedly the best burgers in London town! Sets the bar up high. Apart from a limited but insanely awesome menu, the place has a charm of its own. Even their veggie burger is uber delicious (not every place can do that). You'll have to queue up for a while, but it's worth the wait!
Best burger place ever! Have yet to find another delicious burger joint. The queue can be long but it's worth the wait. Best to go at a quieter time, rather than dinner.
The chips are yummy and the chicken wings too. *thumbs up*
It's quite a small space, but the staff are friendly. The interior is relaxed and funky. Not bad for a quick bite.

We got there at a few minutes past noon (which is when they open) and they were already absolutely packed. We snatched their last two seater table and wedged ourselves in between another couple of guys and an extremely low hanging lamp (I’m practically a smurf at 5”4 and still managed to bang my head on the damn thing twice). This is quite possibly my biggest complaint about Patty & Bun (I say possibly as there’s just one other gripe). The place is just too cramped and it doesn’t seem like whoever planned the layout actually took into consideration that their customers have arms and legs.
I might have been able to overlook this flaw if Patty & Bun had been located on pretty much any other street in the area… But it’s located on James Street… a street which is literally covered in tables and chairs as practically every restaurant except Patty & Bun offer outdoor dining. Very strange.
Anyway enough of that let’s move on to what you really care about… The food.
My cousin, Çetin went for their current special: the Hulk Hogan burger, which consisted of two of the juiciest meat patties I have ever seen, cheese and pulled pork and looked absolutely amazing. I on the other hand went for the more traditional Ari Gold with bacon which pretty much has your standard set of ingredients. We both went for the chips with rosemary salt on the site.
Let’s talk about the meat first… So far, whenever I’ve visited a burger joint in or around London, Honest Burgers has been the measuring stick (Lord knows it wasn’t going to be Five Guys or Shake Shack). That all changed when I sunk my teeth in the Ari Gold. The amount of juice and flavour in that burger was astounding and the sheer quality (again like Honest’s) of their ingredients shines right through. They skimped on nothing… except the burger (my other gripe).
Well, when I say ‘skimped’ I don’t mean they used cheap, shitty meat because they definitely did not… But the size of the patty was kind of disappointing. I was halfway through the burger and the last morsel of meat plopped out leaving me holding half an empty bun. I understand they want to keep their burgers nice and thick so that they stay nice and pink on the inside but that shouldn’t mean that I’m going to essentially be eating a meatball in a bun. This is a burger place and I expected the burger to fill the bun… Still, it was bloody incredible while it lasted.
Çetin had no such problem with his burger and that was probably down to the extra patty and the pulled pork. He didn’t have a bad word to say about his burger and I have to say, even though I’m not a fan of pulled pork in the slightest, it did look extremely good.
The rosemary chips on the other hand were… nice. They were cooked just right but was a little too salty and the chips didn’t come close to Honest Burgers.
All things considered if you could take these guys burgers, stretch them out a bit, then serve them with Honest Burgers rosemary chips on the side you would literally have the perfect burger joint. As it stands though, Patty & Bun serve an almost offensively nice burger that needs to be checked out by every meat lover in the city.

In a nutshell: One of the best burgers in London, and some of the best barbecue wings you will have had anywhere.
Arrived with a friend at 6.30 on a Tuesday evening and had to queue for about 30 minutes. I think the ‘get there for 6’ rule applies here. Patty & Bun is very similar to a lot of other places inside – pretty compact, whitewashed walls, second hand wooden tables and chairs. I did like the art hanging on the walls though. Pieces of cardboard with cartoony drawings on them. Simple but actually pretty cool!
There are six different kinds of burger, including chicken, lamb, and mushroom options, plus a special. I had a ‘Smokey Robinson’ burger and chips with rosemary salt, as well as a ‘Winger winger chicken dinner’ (barbecue chicken wings.)
The wait for our meal must have been five minutes at most. The burger was wrapped in the same way as any burger chain, and everything else came in cardboard pots. Nothing fancy, but then no-one comes here for fanciness. The important thing is that it was all delicious.
The Smokey Robinson is a fantastic burger - beef patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, ‘smokey P&B mayo’ and ‘mounds of caramelised onions’. A strong, smooth taste of a medium-rare burger came through - a good amount of fat and a slight hint of charring. It’s impossible to eat one of the burgers there without the last third breaking apart in your hands – it was happening to everyone around me. No one cares. The rosemary salt chips were delicious too. Just a little bit too… um…. flaccid. Soggy isn’t quite fair and ‘greasy’ paints the wrong picture, so I think flaccid’s the word. Bit more crispness and they would have been brilliant, but they were still very tasty.
The wings were the best I’ve had in years. Genuinely incredible. Under the thick, cosy, tangy-sweet blanket of BBQ, there was a crisp skin to each one, with a little extra seasoning. This made them unlike pretty much any wings I’ve had elsewhere. Sweet, smoky, melting, crispy.
They also have a few US / US-style craft beers available (I had Beavertown Neck Oil IPA) and Red Stripe.

After two successful visits to Patty & Bun, I believe it's time to spill the beans on my experience.
As I suspected (from being a frequent Ayoush visitor), I had to queue for approximately 15 minutes both times I dined at Patty & Bun - which isn't too bad considering I dined during peak hours.
The cosy yet basic environment surrounds you as you enter, great atmosphere in the evening (they tend to play louder music and the lighting is dimmer). As I visited in two occasions, I experienced the difference between lunch and dinner, lunch being the more subdued of the two.
The bacon inside the burgers is cooked to perfection, no grinding on fat in this burger! Take your burger medium-rare to experience the proper patty. Oh and we can't forget about the bun, delicious fresh bun and crispy lettuce. Such a please to bite into.
The only aspect that bugged me was the way you eat the burger. It's extremely difficult not to get your hands dirty, so I wouldn't recommend it for a first date location. That is of course unless you want to seem super relaxed and cool getting covered in beef juice and ketchup!
Overall, quirky environment and an absolute must go.
I like the burgers here, good patties with real flavour, but I find the brioche bun a little sweet for my taste. Fries are a bit "take it or leave it". Atmosphere was a little bland, but the waitress was friendly and attentive.
Not quite as good as Stax Diner which I visited recently where the food is a whole notch better and has loads more character.
You get an immediate sense of déjà vu here. You know the drill by now - small Central London location, no bookings, queues round the block and quality burgers the dish de jour. Whilst it feels familiar the food is anything but with Patty & Bun delivering a standard of food that is outstanding and rightly earning this place full marks.
I go slightly off piste and rather than order the usual Ari Gold or Smokey Robinson burger plump for that days special, Three Little Pigs, a brioche bun stuffed beyond all reason with a beef patty, mature cheddar, confit pork shoulder rolled in nduja, mustard mayo, coleslaw and the ultimate piece de resistance black pudding. This is a messy, juicy, dirty joy pure and simple and such a different take from the norm. The beef, cooked medium rare as requested, is coarse and well seasoned, the pork just melts in the mouth and the gorgeous, grainy black pudding ever so slightly spicy and all the better for it. An outrageous combination and I love it. Surely this dish deserves a permanent place on the menu.
Remarkably this is not even the best dish I try, that honour goes to the Winger Winger Chicken Dinner, smoked confit chicken wings with BBQ sauce and spring onions. Again sounds simple but these are astonishingly excellent and deliver an intense, glorious flavour high. Stunning and for me the absolute star of the show.
I had zero expectations prior to coming here and left having experienced the best burger and chicken wings of my life. There's a new burger king in town, all hail Patty & Bun.
Visiting from Hong Kong and had a few of my friends take me to Patty & Bun.
I was lucky enough to get there before the queue started forming.....only had to wait for about 15 minutes to be seated.
Ordered the "smokey robinson" burger (£8.50), the "winger winger chicken dinner" (£5.50) & the Chips with rosemary salt (£2.50). I'm not surprised with the massive queues outside the restaurant....
The burger was "drool-worthy"..... The soft, tender and juicy patty, just the right amount of cheese, ridiculously awesome caramelised onions + everything else (bacon, Tomato, Lettuce, Bacon, Ketchup, Smokey P&B mayo) = orgasm inside my mouth.
Would definitely go back for a visit before I leave to go back home!
Last week the utterly stunning Miss Rosie Bee had a date for burgers, outfit shoots and blogging business chat.
She marched me down Oxford St in search of Patty and Bun, and boy am I glad she did. Knowing our friendship was at stake, I swiftly ordered a Smokey Robinson with a side of rosemary fries.
Barbecue sauce and onions is pretty much the dream burger topping.
And did you see the shine on that brioche bun?! Oh boy.
And these, were pretty much dream burgers. Better than Five Guys, better than Meatliquor, and edging slightly ahead of Honest. I like them so much that I know I'm going back, even though they don't take reservations, there's always a line round the block and I never queue for food.
Despite promises (and threats) to make a gif of this one's face chowing down on her burger, I've saved all of those excellent shots away on my hard drive, in case I ever need them for blackmailing purposes. (Now she has to be my friend. I know too much).
Isn't she a beaut. Hard to take a bad picture of the girl with waist length hair who doesn't get burger juice on her white dress. The mark of a true lady.

It is a no brainer why Patty & Bun gets so much love and why people forget so easily that they’ve queued for at least 30minutes to get in.
Food is absolutely brilliant. Decided to go for the “Hot Chic” burger, as I wanted something light and different, accompanied by the fries with rosemary salt. The burger is the best I’ve had so far – really tender meat that goes really well with the pickles and the sauce. It was definitely not one of those grease balls that you get pretty much everywhere else. Not sure why the fries are so hyped up, they were just good.
The reason why I wouldn’t give them 5 stars, however, is because of the ambience – it’s way too loud. I don’t mind that it’s such a tiny place, but the loud music and the shouting people around you, can make you feel very uncomfortable. My friend and I were finding it so difficult to have a conversation, that at some point we just stopped talking. We ate our food as fast as we could and left to have a drink somewhere.
Would love to go back and try the Ari Gold, but there’s no chance I’m going there for dinner.
This was my first night in London ever and my cousins swore by this place for a great gourmet burger! After a freezing, and I mean FREEZING 30 minute wait, we finally entered.
A group of three, we opted for 2 "ARI GOLD" cheeseburgers, 1 "Lambshank Redemption" burger with 2 sides of fries with rosemary salt and 1 "Winger Winger Chicken Dinner" chicken wings to start.
I am not the biggest fan of chicken wings, but these wings were the juiciest, tastiest and sauciest wings I've ever tried. The topping of green onions just added that extra freshness and crunch which made it all the more worthwhile. Finger lickin' good.
On to the 'Ari Gold' burger, usually I go for a classic cheeseburger whenever I try a new burger place out because if a place can't get a classic cheese burger right, then why are they a burger place?
Oh man! This was definitely a high quality beef burger. The meat was so tender and juicy (cooked medium and I'm usually a medium well but that's how it's done at P&B so I went for it!) The sauce was smokey yet tangy and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. Only downside was it was a little bit of a mess to eat but I'd rather have a yummy burger with a mess than holding back on the yummy, you know what I mean?
In my opinion, food, music and service was excellent. I know where I'm going first next time I'm in London. I'd definitely recommend this place for young adults and young couples and less for a family as it's quite packed, loud and "cosy".

Blown away by the Juicy flavours of the Ari Gold burger, this one was not to be forgotten. A must return.
Have heard aloooot about Patty and Bun and have tried to visit on several occasions only to be deterred by the queues outside. Unfortunately I am not the most patient human! I also have been given glowing recommendations from close friends. Finally, mainly due to the fact that some friends were visiting London for the weekend, I decided to just take the hit and wait in the line. Even with the terrible weather and 30 min wait it was definitely worth it!
I have tried a number of different burgers around London and P&B definitely ranks up around the best! I ordered the Smokey Robinson which combined with the excellent smokey mayo came an almost perfectly cooked burger. I have a theory that generally with these burger joints my main judging focus is actually on the side dishes, because to be honest the burgers are always damn good! In this case I was very impressed once again. The rosemary chips, which came perfectly cooked with the skin still on (rustic!) were well received by the entire group. One stand out item (which was a focal point of the glowing recommendations) were the chicken wings! A different style to the wings I generally tend to go for as the chicken was very tender and fell off the bone. The sauce was interesting with a slightly different bbq style than usual and a bit of a kick! So again not my personal favourite style of wings but they were fantastic none the less!
The 5 os us were all absolutely stuffed after the meal which ended up at £16 each ( including service, no drinks however). A bit pricey but have no qualms with spending this for the quality.
I will definitely be back (to try the chicken burger) but will be trying the other options available before I do.
This is easily one of the top 3 burger joints this side of the atlantic ocean.... beware of the rather long ques last time i ate there i had to wait over 9- minutes to be able to get a place... but its worth it personal reccommendations the Smokey Joe or the Ari Gold burgers... it would be a sin to not order their rosemary chips and BBQ wings... if you are in london and love burgers you need to go and eat here...
There's always a slight sense of disappointment when revisiting some of my best rated and favourite burgers in London, only to masochistically ignore the joys of their unctuous beefy creations, and instead order the vegetarian option.
Patty & Bun, one of London's best burgers, delivers just that feeling. As I continue my meat free January - the second year I've sacrificed the pleasures of the flesh for the pleasures of the field - I can't help but crave. So I order the only burger on the menu that I'm allowed - the portobello 'Dig It' mushroom burger...
Price: Dig It Burger - £7.50
Analysis:
The Dig It burger consists of a flat-griddled portobello mushroom, topped with garlic parsley butter and covered with melted parmesan cheese. This core is then accessorised with pickled onions (the same strips of pinky-red pickled onion used in the definitely-not-meat-free Ari Gold burger), a 'slaw, lettuce, buttermilk baby courgette and tarragon mayo. It's all wrapped in a brioche bun.
To say it wasn't a painful experience, to sit and wait for my veggie burger takeaway while a stream of Ari Gold and Smokey Robinson burgers were paraded past me from the kitchen, would be a lie. But my burger arrived in short order and I departed the heaving restaurant to sit on a street corner and undertake my burger analysis for veggies everywhere.
That's one seriously cheese-coated mushroom right there...
And as veggie burgers go...it's pretty darn good. The portobello mushroom as the patty replacement is a tried and tested ingredient (Byron use it as their core veggie burger across their restaurants), but I find it SUPER boring if it's not accessorised well. Luckily it is. And with a cracking combination of toppings too.
It's all about balance. The acidity of the pickled onions and parmesan umami strike a perfect note when combined with the mellow creaminess of the tarragon mayo. The garlic butter enhances the flavour of the mushroom, and the crunchy lettuce adds crunch and texture to the whole construction.
This is a win/win situation for meat lovers and veggies alike - you can ALL go to Patty & Bun and be satisfied that the burger wares won't disappoint!
I had heard a lot about this place before my visit, and it truly lived up to the hype! Although the burgers are the pride of the restaurant - and they were indeed excellent -, for me, the chicken wings were actually the winning component. I'd go so far as to say they were the best bbq sticky wings i have ever tasted! A must!
if you're looking for a juicy burger with different flavors and toppings then this is the place to be in !
I'm so late to the party to sample the burger trend that I'm not even entirely sure if it is still a trend - but nevertheless I FINALLY trot off to sample some burgers at Patty & Bun.
Situated on James St (Or to make things much simpler, it's behind that lovely Yellow store I can't afford on Oxford St) its central location makes it a great place to gain some sustenance before hitting the shops.
It's a simple enough exterior and having been warned off it's epic queues of hungry punters, I'm grateful to grab the last twosome on a midweek afternoon. The place is buzzing with workers treating themselves to a lunchtime fix. Quirky cardboard art lines the walls but there is no doubt, this is a place for some serious eating
The menu is straightforward enough; I opt for the 'Lambshank Redemption' and Mum goes for the 'Smokey Robinson. We also throw in some Coleslaw and Chips with Rosemary Salt.
I've heard and read so much about these burgers that I'm beginning to worry that I've built these up and we're set for a disappointment. And while I love places like GBK and even a good ol' pub special, I'm wondering just how special a place like this can make them.
Well in this case, the hype is entirely justified. We were blown away. Just stupendous.
The lamb was cooked perfectly, very slightly pink, complemented perfectly by the feta and the sweetish brioche providing a cacophony of flavours. I loved how the patty matched the size of the bun perfectly. Too often you end up with a mismatched bun to patty ratio & I don't know what kind of mastery they use here, but with each mouthful you get a layer of all the little bits.
The Smokey Robinson was equally fabulous - and completely different in flavour! You expect burgers to have a base 'burger' taste but these were poles apart. The smokey flavour was rich and even the yellowy American cheese didn't have a hint of the tacky about it.
Both of us had burger envy and kept sneaking in bites of the other's burger to continually marvel at the flavours. I'm not sure I could choose which one was my favourite and I'm going to have to go back and make sure I've sampled all the different flavours. For research purposes only, you understand.
The sides were ok - The chips were perfectly cooked with the right amount of crunch vs fluff but the flecks of green meant to be rosemary added no discernable flavour. The coleslaw was fine, but far too mustardy for my liking and not a necessary accompaniment to the meal.
I'm sure Patty & Bun don't need me to add to their long line of happy fans, but hey, they've won me over.
Patty & Bun is easy to spot with its bright red shopfront and logo. Like most pop-ups it is relatively small inside but on this day I was lucky enough to arrive before the queues had formed. Points were scored immediately when I was seated and found that San Pellegrino Limonata was on the menu, the classiest canned lemonade in existence if you ask me!
After quenching my thirst I turned my attentions to the menu and was for the first time stumped as to what to pick. After a long and hard thought process I decided on the Smokey Robinson burger cooked medium-rare with a side of Rosemary Salted Chips. "Beef Patty, Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, Mounds Of Caramelised Onions, Bacon, Ketchup, Smokey P&B Mayo, Brioche Bun". The burger arrived wrapped and with a big P&B logo on top, as if it were a stamp of approval. You can see this boy was going to be a messy affair, so yet again I readied the napkins and peeled back the layers to see what was inside. It was standing naked in all its glory, oozing juices, ketchup, P&B smokey mayo and dying to be devoured! Well presented with obvious care taken in the burger building process, this sight was definitely enough to get the tastebuds tingling.
Although this was an extremely messy burger, the brioche bun handled itself like a pro when it came to keeping everything in check! It didn't falter whatsoever and managed to hold all the juicy goodness inside without breaking. The smokey P&B mayo and ketchup was the perfect combination to accompany the bacon and beef and I felt the smokey mayo was a great little twist that helped the Smokey Robinson stand out amongst other bacon cheeseburgers. Lastly the salad was crisp and definitely a worthwhile addition, not just a simple filler.
The guy next to me had ordered the ARI GOLD Cheeseburger and I asked him what he thought. He played it rather cooler than myself and simply said "Yeh, that is a great burger". Patty & Bun however for me, definitely ranks itself highly on my list as the service, concept and final product were all exceptional. Since dining at Patty & Bun for the first time I have been back multiple times and tried numerous specials and all have matched the high standards of the first encounter.
Enjoy!

Best burger ever!!simply, incredible!! Must see& must eat!!
Certainly one of the best burgers I've ever had. The chicken wings are juicy and succulent. Ari Gold and Lambshank Redemption are my personal favourites. The only downside of this place is the long wait!
Their specials are usually pretty good too although it's mostly a take on the Ari Gold. I have tried the Hot Chic Burger but I was SO disappointed by it! I suppose it is unfair to compare a chicken burger to a lamb or beef burger.
Please do not miss out on the wings - you'll regret it!
This place is one of the best in terms of quality of food and value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful. The longest I have waited is 2 hours and I am the most impatient person alive. However, I have learned that you can simply do a takeaway - you get your food in 5 minutes or so and it usually disappears by the time I reach Bond Street tube station!
PS: It should be a law that all burgers come with a toasted, buttered brioche!
Good but not the best! I've read / heard a lot about this place (and the queue outside suggests the same!). I can't dispute the quality. Very good, tasty burger. (Smokey Robinson for me). But felt let down by the rosemary chips. Way too salty! 2 hours later I'm still very thirsty and kinda put a dampen on the whole experience for me...
A very little shop in marylborn. The burger is probably one of the best of London (with shake shack)
I recommand the ari gold burger, the very unique sauce bring new savors in the burger market.
The fries are ok, i think they should have put more attention on their side.
This is the perfect place for a hungover recovery on a saturday lunch.
PS : be careful you may be confront of a huge and very long queue !
Had a wonderful experience here, despite being in a large group of 9 people, we were seated within 45 minutes, though granted we did arrive at 4.15pm! The staff was super patient, friendly and accomodative. The wings were to die for, melted off the bone, wish they were a bit hotter though, but that's just my taste buds. Burgers were insanely good, from the classic Ari Gold, to the lambshank and the chicken burger. Excellent fries. Quick turnover, but they don't hustle you. Might just be London's best burger.
After a short queue, seated and welcomed by who I first thought was a crazy waiter with far too much energy, I soon realised it was Joe Grossman, the founder of Patty & Bun. He is extremely passionate about what he is doing and bursting with energy, so it wasn't craziness I discovered, just pure passion for his restaurant.
I couldn't help but to dive straight in with the ARI gold burger. A monster Pattie of beautifully seasoned 35-day aged Aberdeen Angus beef. Sandwiched between a brioche bun with enough structure to hold itself together, coupled by a soft sweetness and a glaze so shiny it nearly blinded me. The Pattie is topped off with cheese which arrives oozing and fully melted. Lots of pickled onions, lettuce, Smokey mayo and a ripe tomato to finish off this delicious burger.

Lived almost next door on James Street and always saw a queue no matter what day or time or even in -2
It's been a long, hard haul. I've been to Dirty Burger. I've been to Meat Liquor and Tommi's Burger Joint. Honest Burger has also been crossed off the list. But still, rumour had it that Patty and Bun was the place. London's answer to Shake Shack. The Burger Mecca. The first time I went, I tried to go at dinner time on a weekday. I was rebuffed by a queue longer than you can shake a stick at. I licked my wounds in Tommi's Burger Kitchen around the corner. In fact, I felt smart. Tommi's was great. I laughed at those suckers queuing. But still, I wondered, what if?!
Today I went to P & B. I went at 4.30pm on a weekday. It was a tactic. Who goes for dinner at this time? Or lunch? Or whatever? Surely we'll beat the queue (I brought an accomplice to face this fight). But the P & B cult following is such that even at this unsociable time, we had to wait outside for 5 minutes. The waitress who ushered us in was lovely, if a little on edge. Who can blame her. She works in the busiest burger place in town.
At this point, strange as it might sound, I felt affronted. What kind of place is so good that it has a queue at this kinda time? I WANTED to not like the burger. I ordered the Ari Gold cheese burger (oddly named after a character from TV show Entourage?) and the famed chicken wings. And I waited, fuming. I wasn't going to like this meal, I had decided.
Then the food came, and so too did the Stockholm Syndrome. I started with a wing, and it was good. It was very good. The sort of biblical good like "God created the heavens and the earth and saw that it was good" good. And then there was the burger, oh so beautifully wrapped up, with that little P&B sticker atop its crest. The damn sexy wrapping had to be compensating for something, didn't it? Sadly not. The burger was eye-wateringly good (see above for what I mean by good). Not only was the meat delicious - really, really delicious - and the cheese adventurous and flavoursome, but all the other stuff in there was not just well chosen, but inspired.
It did something rare. It reinvented the wheel in a way wholly its own. For a heady second I thought, is this moment topping that first Shake Shack burger I had the year before last? Perhaps that Shake Shack moment has grown dim, whereas this burger was alive and kicking on my tongue not 24 hours ago, but it did certainly seem to be in that sort of ball park.
A good burger? Forget about it!
Screw Flanders.
Dedicated to True Burger Lovers
The experience in short:
Comment when you get in line: OMG!
Comment when you get in: Nice!!!
Comment when you first bite your dish: {jumping ou your feet and running to the kitchen} Marry me!! (to whoever cooked it)
In more detail:
Thee reason why I "limited" my rating to 4.5 is that there is ALWAYS a long queue.
This is due to the fact that the restaurant is quite small, and the delicious food attracts far more people than what the place can handle.
Nevertheless, the food you'll get once in is worth the waiting: meat and all the other ingredients are fresh and high quality.
Some of the feature in the dishes are actually hard to identify: like the sauce in the burgers.
My opinion? I don't care what that sauce contains. It's perfection.
Other useful details:
Once you get in the service is pretty fast. Waiters are nice and always in a good mood. Price is ok considering the quantity and quality of the food delivered.
Final consideration: Get the french fries. They are made out of fresh potatoes and are simply delicious.
Enjoy!
Holy mother of cheese.
Mark my words you will be screaming those exact same words.
How do I know this?
Because that was my reaction when I took my first bite of what-so-far is the mother of all burgers that has hit London.
Along St. Jame's Street just off Bond Street is Patty and Bun.
London's worst kept secret.
With burgers named like The Ari Gold (those who watch Entourage will understand), and The Lambshank Redemption; you really cannot walk by without stopping just to stare.
There are only 6 burgers on the menu.
Each one a character in their own right. (And rightfully named.)
Choose wisely.
We went for The Lambshank Redemption, The Jose Jose, and The Smokey Robinson.
The Burgers: All decently priced between £7-8.
The patty was cooked medium rare, and boy it was juicy but just enough, so it wasn't soggy.
The brioche bun, lightly toasted so it's still soft yet still holds the burger intact.
So think rugged, badass beef patty, that is encased in toasted sweet brioche.
We all know that when brioche is grilled, it becomes the King amongst the bread kingdom; slightly crispy but once it touches your lips it melts like butter.
Then the orgy begins when the meat comes to play along with all the cheese, caramelised onions... etc.
Quality on every level.
You won't be disappointed.
The Sides: priced £2.50- £5.
Chicken Wings. Impossibly perfect. The barbecue sauce was sweet, sticky and lathered over the crispy exterior. The best part? The meat just fell away from the bone with the first bite.
Fries: Well I like to see skin, and they weren't shy to show it to me ;] [Potato skin that is.]
Ambiance:
I went here on a Saturday evening, so it was dark, super busy and there's loud music pumping.
You have been warned to avoid at peak times like lunch and weekends if you don't like queuing.
Also the restaurant is pretty small, so break it down to smaller groups or go in a couple.
I will definitely come back to Patty&Bun for The Lambshank Redemption, and as an added bonus this place won't blow a hole in your wallet.
Affordable. Quality. Perfection.
Yummeis: 9/10

First to make an impression opening on the 30th Nov, after previous stints at the Endurance, the doodle bar & feast festival are Patty & Bun. In close proximity to Meatliquor & Tommi's burger joint they make up a mecca for all burger connoisseurs. With Meatliquor especially with it's omnipresent queues outside, there is mroe than enough space for P&B to mop up the excess.
Their new place has about 30 covers, clearly space is of a premium in these parts, as that really is at a push. This makes the place a lot more lively, but place for a romantic date this is not.
On offer is the Ari Gold, Smokey Robinson, Jose Jose, Lambshank redemption, hot chic (chicken burger) and token veggie burger. Sides are fries (on trend triple cooked with rosemary salt), and winger winger chicken dinner. Prices range from £7-8 for burgers, and it's great to have the option of fries instead of a few places where it is imposed on you, mixing sides with mates is the way forward.
Such is the high standards of burgers in London it's becoming increasing difficult to differentiate between the best of the best, but P&B are certainly amoung them. This is a messy burger, not for the faint hearted (literally) with a really good well seasoned juicy patty, and cooked to perfect medium rare.
Chicken wings, smoked and confit in duck and chicken fat, are lip-smackingly good, almost to the levels as the bread street kitchen taramind ones. To get 6 aswell for a fiver, win.

The title of best burger in London is quite disputed at the moment, with new burger joints popping up every other week. Although my personal preference used to go to Honest Burger, my recent visit to Patty&Bun almost shook my faith.
The venue is nice and friendly with plenty of light wood paneling and recovered school furniture, a wall counter with few stools and a friendly staff.
The menu is quite simple with a few burgers and sides, and my choice fell easily on the Smokey Robinson with a side of fries. The burger comes wrapped in grease proof paper as in the worse american highway fast food, but what's inside has not much to share with them. The bun is a soft ,glazed brioche, and the beef patty is perfectly cooked, middle rare with a nice pink core. But what really makes the difference is their signature smokey mayo. It's just perfect, and makes the sandwich smokey, saucy and messy as every great burger should be. The side of fries was great too, skin-on and crunchy.
The only negative point was perhaps the bacon, a bit too chewy for my taste, I'd rather have it more crunchy. Just one last step away from perfection...
Visited for the first time and was very pleased.
The hamburgers are nice and juicy! Reasonably priced.
Tried also the chips, the slaw and the cheese balls and everything was good.
Recommended!

Had my indulgence on their cheeseburger and boneless chicken thighs.
Chicken was fried to perfection with the juice oozing out. The burger wa some of the best burgers I had in London if not Europe. It was so good that I actually forgot to take pics cos i was busy enjoying it so much. The place however was little tight in space but to get your hands on that kinda food we could even squeeze into a chamber …. Hahah. Kudos chef.
Great food and atmosphere as always, despite it being very busy, the staff were lovely and very accommodating, thanks!
Been coming to P&B for more than 2y now. Absolutely love it! The food is delicious, in particular the rosemary chips. Team is always very welcoming and Diana in particular always goes the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. Definitely a must-have spot for casual lunch or dinner if you are around Oxford Street.
What a lovely place. Delicious food, excellent service and perfect cocktails. Chicken Burger and The Don were both yummy, and the fries were unbelievable. Get the additional sauces, you won't be sorry. They also kindly gave us some cheese balls to try too.... add them to your order!!
Had a great dinner at Patty&Bun James St, burgers were delicious and the atmosphere is so fun. Shout out to our server Ahmed for his impeccable service, he took great care of us and made sure everything was spot on. I will come back for sure😊
One of the best burgers in London! I have to say, the food was great, especially the french fries. I ordered the lamb shank burger, a spicy single patty burger, and french fries. Both were tasty. The staff were helpful and great as well.
Warm, delightful experience at Patty and Bun. A real treat of a night! This all came down to the charming service by Ahmed, who made sure my evening was top-notch whilst looking gorgeous in leopard print (not easy to pull off!). Would return for the perfect medium-rare patty and Ahmed.
The Jerk Wings were the show stopper! I could have had a whole tray of them.. so juicy and the meat just fell off the bone so easily. The chips weren’t my favourite but I think that’s just preference. Burgers were lovely and the bread so soft you could really appreciate the fillings inside.
What a great burger!! If your in the area I would 100% recommend this place for a bite to eat! The buns are soft, the bacon & cheese was amazing and the meat itself was very tasty! The fries are also great so would recommend these too! The only issue is (and I know it isn’t a big one) is that there isn’t much seating inside and you will most likely have to sit outside due to this but it’s worth it!
The fastest and best service I ever had in London, well in UK! Especially Ahmed! He recommended the lamb burger and it was just brilliant! He even recommended me some movies. What a man! Not to mention he is very cute :)
