One of the best restaurants in all London. Beautiful Art Deco interior, fabulous food, great service. Book Princess Diana’s favourite corner table if you can get it. This is urbane but unassuming elegance at its very finest.

Well run and good staff. Very solid Sunday roast and brunch. Good mixture of foods from sushi to pancakes (but I have to say I didn't particularly like the pancakes). Well established and no surprises.

Very likeable environment with excellent food and pleasant staff. I had the veal which was amazing and finished with the chocolate fondant which was very tasty. A jazz trio played soft music, lifting the mood even higher. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a good dinner in a charming place!

Great service... beautiful food... and the atmosphere was just amazing! Definitely recommend the Sunday Jazz night!

Went here with a lady friend. It was just a fantastic lunch. Very good food, excellent, professional service, and a pleasant ambiance.

Excellent meal and attentive staff. Restaurant a little noisy, the acoustics could somehow be improved? Not a criticism but the noise level perhaps means this isn't the place for certain occasions. Some of the best non Michelin starred food we've ever had

Really good restaurant. The people are very nice and the food is good. I don't recommend the starters as both times we ate there the main course was much better and more filling. Recommend the gooseberry pie dessert or the ice creams. If you want to eat at prime dinner time, maybe reserve in advance because it fills up fast, but if your go to eat around 6 there should be plenty of availability.

Went here for a Saturday lunch, as this is one of the few restaurant that have a separate vegetarian menu. We were two, and I liked the fact that we were seated next to each in a round table (of four) instead of opposite each other. The service was impeccable, the head-waiter always making rounds to see that everything's OK. Food excellently prepared and presented. This restaurant made a superb impression on me; I wish I could afford to eat here more often.

The service is very solid here. The food variety was perfect for lunch. I'd say my portion was larger than I'm used to but I'm sure a man would enjoy it. I had the sea bass with a thai sauce and it was delicious. The clientele here are pretty famous. I spotted Lord Sugar here when I was here last.

Very nice place with art deco feel and relaxed atmosphere. Staff is attentive with good sense of sattle humour. Food is top notch, not pretentious, just what you expect it to be in a place like this. Real food beautifully prepared with honest and sophisticated flavours. They welcome children with good manners too and treat them like adults. Highly recommended.

excellent food in very pleasant surroundings. nice atmospheric pianist playing in the bar area sets the tone for a relaxed meal. only complaint is if eating early you'll be rushed through your meal, albeit with the food still top notch quality. wonderful desserts and a very reasonable wine list help round off a great experience.

I loved the food here. Blueberry cheesecake waffles were amazing. We also shared some really great benedicts. It's a really classy place which made me feel underdressed. Be warned that people here are mostly in suits, ties and pretty dresses.

Great food. Very observant and hospitable staff. Only problem I had was that I ordered a daiquiri and received a margarita which was fixed as soon as I mentioned it. However, tequila makes me feel very unwell so was not an ideal situation.

Excellent service and food. The chateaubriand was absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked medium rare as asked ..The jus was superb!! I am not a fan of " chips" but these chops were scrumptious. The best I ever had. I also like the ambiance and location of this Mayfair London Restaurant.

A fine establishment tucked in a quiet street in Mayfair. A smiling concierge with a fine English hat welcomes you in.

At a glance you'd expect a pretentious setting but it is friendly here at La Caprice. It has a certain glamourous 'old money' feel to it. We were the youngest crowd.

Menu is rich and mostly seafood. I started off with the salmon ceviche which came with a fried plantain. Was very good though not as chilled as I would have preferred. The yellowtail tuna came next. The tuna was very good and the presentation of the dish was exquisite. Ginger and salmon in the middle richly complimented the dish. I tried the ribeye which looked appealing but tasted OK. The tuna steak was also on the dry side. For desserts we had a praline hazelnut ice cream; enriched with more hazelnuts than sugar. A very good experience all in all but appealing more to an older crowd. I told my wife we'd do our 30 anniversary here. Don't think Ill come here before. £60-70 a person.

Follow me on instagram @londonarab_foodie

It was tough to pass up a chance to take in some of the works by the Impressionists and eat a slap-up two-course meal in Le Caprice. They're running a superb value deal alongside the current Royal Academy exhibition 'Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse'. For £38 you can enjoy a ticket, a glass of Perrier Jouet, a two course meal, and a surprise gift from Floris.

Le Caprice is just a few minutes away on foot, from the RA, sadly though we won't be enjoying our lunch on their exclusive Perrier-Jouët ‘Modern Mayfair Garden’ terrace.

At 1.30pm the restaurant is buzzing, helped by a pianist playing upbeat classics.

We are given the set menu and make our choice, there are three starters, mains and desserts and along comes a glass of champagne.

A basket of white and brown bread arrives with unsalted butter-to-die-for.

I choose the moules which are spectacularly good with a shallot and wild garlic sauce.

Mr has the ham hock & dandelion salad with puy lentil dressing which is another winner.

With the champagne gone, we have a glass each of wine.

For main course I have the salmon fishcake, sautéed spinach, served with a sorrel sauce. A deep fishcake is packed with salmon and seasoned potato. Just the right amount of sauce-to-fishcake ratio and we share a bowl of salted string fries.

A chicken breast and leg is cooked perfectly, and is lovely and moist with a char-grilled skin. Kale and a matchstick cup apple form the salad with toasted pecans, drizzled with a honey mustard dressing.

The starter and main course were plenty, an additional course can be picked from the a la carte dessert menu.

A 12.5% service charge and cover charge £2pp, are added to the bill.

We head back out into the rain, I see they're doing the same for a Vogue exhibition, so we will be back.

Royal Academy, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BD

Le Caprice, Arlington Street, London SW1A 1RJ

Must have the crispy duck salad it is sensational!

Love it!. This is one of my favourite restaurants in London, it's handy as it's just around the corner from Green Park station, and right by my club. The restaurant itself has a very art deco 1920's feel to it, the staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food is absolutely superb! I'll be doing a proper blog review as soon as I remember to take my camera!

Such a great place, the food is very simple clean and fresh, a very hot place to eat do make sure you book.. I was not disappointed at all, and give them 100++. They also have live music players setting the mood

If you can't get a table, ask if you can eat at the bar, only a few seats but food and service excellent! Love the raspberries dripping in warm White chocolate for desert.

What's all the fuss about?. Caprice Holding's restaurants (this place, The Ivy etc) are all very much style and reputation over substance. I was so disappointed! The food I was served was on parr with my office canteen. The canteen at my office happens to be very good, but not worth the fuss that is made of Le Caprice.

the Caprice burger does not let the restaurant’s reputation down. It’s juicy, buttery, and flavoursome.

Le Caprice is tucked away in Arlington Street in a surprisingly quiet spot behind the Ritz. If it sounds glam, it’s because it is. In a restaurant like that, the little details in service are what really set a place apart. We walked in with a booking and the maître d’ managed very discreetly and without me realising, to confirm a special little something that the s.o. had requested. Now that, is class. From our seats at the bar (we love the counter if you recall from my Bocca Di Lupo post ) I could see the maître greeting the regulars like a pro (handshake for the men, sometimes a hug for the ladies or a peck on the cheek). Even before we had a single bite to eat, we knew this would be a good place

Le Caprice is part of Caprice holding, a restaurant group with some high profile restaurants such as Ivy and J Sheekey. It is known to be a hang out spot for the rich and famous, a place to see and be seen.

We started with Champagne, and I couldn't decide what to eat, so I had a small Eggs Benedict and a small Butternut Squash and Zucchini Risotto, while Claire had the large Steak Tartar. The Eggs Benedict at Le Caprice are definitely the best Eggs Benny in town, I drool just thinking about them! Jesus says it's all in the eggs they get.

Le Caprice is one of the most popular restaurants in London and yet, I found I didn't truly love any part of it. The Boyfriend and I left thinking " we just don't get it". Le Caprice has been around for a long time and it doesn't really look like its changed in that time. Some people may like the décor, the black glass, the art deco lamps, the white walls and the photos of the celebrities. I don't. I don't love it. It looks a bit out dated in my opinion. But at the end of the day, the food is what really counts and I liked that as much as the décor. The Boyfriend and I, ended up at Le Caprice one Sunday night. After being ushered in we were immediately seated at the very end of the L shaped dining room. At a table which overlooked the staircase leading to the Women's toilets. Not the greatest location but fine, I got to s

Caprice has been around for as long as we can remember. No wonder really as it dates all the way back to 1947, though it was the relaunch by Caprice Holdings Ltd in 1990 that made it a go-to restaurant for celebrities, and the rich and famous generally. Indeed, twenty years back, the place seemed unapproachable to mere mortals like us. While the celebs have stayed the course at sister restaurant The Ivy, for the most part, they drifted away from Le Caprice favouring Mayfair's revolving door of newer places. All this could have challenged Le Caprice's identity and indeed viability, but instead, the restaurant continues to flourish. What they've done is a fantastic job at evolving away from the fashion set to one that offers wider appeal as a restaurant that delivers a consistently solid experience of: good food, friendly service and congenial atmosphere. They're to be congratulated for what they've achieved. This is not the first time we've been to Le Caprice or the second. Or even the

The Caprice restaurant is on the 6th floor of the Four Seasons hotel, with a fine view over Hong Kong harbour. There is an open kitchen, with a large team of chefs beavering away in full view of the dining room. The room is large and tables are generously

Having opened its doors in January 1946, Le Caprice has been a London institution for a long time now, and has always enjoyed a consistently good reputation. It was originally one of the few really good restaurants in the capital, serving many celebrities

A week or so ago, I took The Girl to Le Caprice . Recently, we've become rather fond of the place, and it's currently one of our favourite restaurants. Forget all the fuss, in reality it's just a small room off Piccadilly, painted white, and decorated sim

This is a lovely restaurant with near perfect service. Not stuffy. Excellent food. I had the wood pidgeon on toast as a starter, venison for main course and creme brulee for pudding. The only thing that didn't work was the creme brulee, which contained a

A good slice of the old school. Service that is beyond compare, a setting that is just the right side of the late 80s and beautiful food. You walk through the door and immediately feel transported, aided by a skilful piano player. Wonderful wine, wonderful whisky. And strangely wonderful bathrooms, complete with arm chairs. Enjoy.

The food was pleasant tasting but I didn't understand the lack of flow in the menu it was too diverse. Think it needs a bit of updating restaurant wise and service wise.

Still arguably one of London's best restaurants, my father still takes me here and it only seems to improve with age. The service is absolutely seamless, and the food spectacular. On some nights they have a pianist who can play just about anything you ask him. Whilst it can often be difficult to get a booking it's well worth finding a way. You won't regret it.
