What a lovely place.... Great healthy selection of menu... Wonderful reception. Service could be improved.. Mentioned three times how I wanted my eggs but they did not listen. This should not deter you. Must visit

Was looking for a place for lunch and got interested with the place because it was always crowded and it's located just beside the iconic Electric Cinema. Place was unique, felt like real American diner but with European touch. Hash browns were very nice and crunchy, love some parts of the hash browns that were still a bit 'melting' (not completely fried). Burger was unexpectedly good and the thick bacon gave more experience. Portion: quite ok when they first arrived at the table, but big after finishing only half of the dishes...

I adore Notting Hill, and more specifically Portobello Road. Everything from the pastel houses to the fascinating boutiques to the bustling markets fills my mind with glee. The fun doesn't end there though. There's a 100 year old cinema on this legendary street known as the Electric Cinema. The cinema's stunning interior is graced with red leather furniture, crystal chandeliers and gilded wall decorations - a cinema originally intended for film's aficionados and society's elite.

Came in here before I went to the cinema on the same stetch.  I was impressed how stylish it was inside. Decor was very bright and upbeat. The staff were really friendly and I had a beer sitting at the bar as I also noticed people walking by at the open seating by the window. eggs royale were very good and filling. Will come back to try the vegetarian items as there were so many.

You can find Electric Diner about halfway up Portobello Road, pretty much slap-bang in the middle between Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill tube stations. The restaurant is affiliated with the adjacent Electric Cinema, one of Notting Hill’s well-known establishments where you can watch both the latest film releases and old classics from an armchair, sofa or bed. The menu is advertised as French-American and seems to contain disproportionate levels of avocado (which cannot be bad news for the vegetarian!) Despite visiting at a potentially busy time, the staff had no problem finding us a space, and we ended up sitting at the bar which allowed us to have a good chat with the very lovely barman.

Next to the oldest cinemas in London, Electric Diner is situated on the super busy and trendy tourist hotspot of Portobello Road. One thing I love about Portobello Road is that it has maintained its identity and they have not let chain restaurants fully take over the area like tourist hotspots usually become a victim of. Some of the best restaurants are on this road!

It’s regularly made the list of top brunch places to eat at- so as always I took this opportunity to drag my friends out for some iPhone time as a group because that’s how people do ‘social’ gatherings nowadays. (JUST kidding…about us doing that!)

I started off with something healthy aka carrot juice. My mother used to make me drink this when I was little and now I like it and order it voluntarily!

Good, wholesome, damn good plates of food to make you forget the notorieties of the night before! I thought the Eggs Royale wouldn’t fill me up- but boy was I wrong! I loved the fact the muffins were crisp rather than soggy as usually is the case if left too long before serving. Everyone enjoyed their food and I also loved the fries- so well cooked and crunchy!

Electric Diner is a very popular hot spot. Even on a Sunday, it was jam-packed so be sure to book ahead or be prepared to wait! Fuss-free dining and easy menu that has something for everyone. Why not make a full day of it and head into the Electric Cinema after…I hear their sofas are super comfy and you get served doughnuts. Well if that isn’t a movie experience to go for, then I don’t know what is! ;)

Have the Lemon Meringue Pie!. I went there earlier this week, and it was really impressive. The booths were comfy and cosy, the staff were friendly & attentive, the mains were very tasty (the flatiron chicken especially), and the desserts absolutely heavenly. I won't spoil it by posting a pic, but you must have the Lemon Meringue Pie - it's an incredible creation!

The Electric diner is good for a very casual relaxed lunch. However, I can't help but think that Honest Burgers next door would have been a better choice. If I were to come next time, I would go for earlier for the breakfast menu; it looked better than the all day menu.

The flat iron chicken and preserved lemon (£15) was some of the most succulent chicken I’ve ever come across. How anyone can cook chicken that juicy is nothing short of masterful. The honey fried chicken, chilli and sesame seeds (£16) was sweet, sticky and delicious. Both dishes had bags of flavour with every mouthful.

I read about Electric Diner and couldn't resist reviewing their burger. The place is besides one of London’s oldest cinemas, full of character, open till late, French and American menu created by chef Brendan Sodikoff . The Chicago chef associated this time with the Soho House group yes the same one of Pizza East. Loud music, crimson red diner boots, dimmed lights, if you want to see the action of the chefs and line cooks sit at the long bar, and a great music selection played at a reel to reel machine

This place was a terrific success in my opinion. I came here to have brunch with a group of friends, without researching much about this place. Upon arriving, we noticed just how lively and buzzy the place as. There was a lot of seating option for those who were waiting. The bloody Mary drink that I had here was truly a success. The menu was extensive, comprehensive and amazing. There are really nice vegetarian options also, and I wish to have their burger too. The service was really nice and friendly and the only downside would be its location. It was very lovely.

The drinks here were amazing, especially the bloody mary which was the best that I had ever tasted so far. The food was pretty tasty, especially the open-faced ham. Quite a great place to spend a warm evening with friends.

i thought that I will be having casual dinner here but to my surprise the food was awesome and same goes for the atmosphere and the service.
I had Avo salad and Quinoa which was super yum. It was very light and according to me a great dish to have. My friend had hot dog but it was not that good according to her.
I really love this place and will surely come again.

My partner had heard about this 'hipster' place in the neighbourhood and since then, we had been wanting to visit it. At first we intended on going for breakfast, but then we finally went for lunch.
The chicken wings we ordered were not up to the mark however the bloody Mary was just spectacular!
This place can be visited if you want to have a fun evening with friends.

The Electric Diner has totally topped the chart of my favorite places to eat. With its ravishing decor, amazing and cheerful environment and energetic vibe, anyone would probably fall in love. It is one of those places with which you fall in love with on the very first sight. The service was brilliant and the staff members were polite and very helpful. The food served was freshly prepared and had the most authentic taste. This place possesses an altogether a unique personality, obviously in a good way.. Strongly recommended.

We were coming back from a movie and was starving , we saw this place and in no time we went in. The food is pretty simple but according to me simple food can be the best because then the basics are pretty clear.
The chef here is very good.

I used to live nearby this restaurant since a long time, but since I've shifted to the southeast, I've been craving for the double patty cheeseburger they used to serve. The burger was served with pickles, onions, sauce and good old french mustard, The best thing about this place was that if you visit before 11 AM, the bill is half priced.

This diner's menu has been inspired from the chef behind Au Cheval. From being majorly American in essence and execution of orders, this place does offer a slight differentiation in the kind of dishes it offers.
A must try on the menu is their own take on the Brenden Sodikoff.
Looking for a classic American experience? Do give this one a shot!

This place is new and young, both in a really cool way. One can be seen enjoying a sumptuous meal, sitting on a comfortable armchair. The food here is decent and you must try the deep fried grill options the chef offers.

The bar is fairly sophisticated with stools lined up across the floor. Worth a visit!

A good meal but nothing out of the ordinary. While it is a good bet for a relaxed lunch, the place next door looked more ideal. The next time, I come here, I would much rather opt for the breakfast menu as opposed to the all day menu. It looked much more appealing and interesting.

Visit number four to the Electric; although it's been good before the menu is now slightly bigger and the food quality has improved. There is a great bar with a large draught selection and really well done cocktails. As for food... the double cheeseburger never fails to hit the spot, although a single is a double and a double really a triple just to confuse you. It's always busy, don't be put off by the waiting time for a table, in our experience they under promise and over deliver.

We Love Food, It's All We Eat

The Electric Diner has got to be in our top three places we’ve eaten this year. Although not in our usual stomping ground, it felt quite a trek to get to Notting Hill, but oh so worth it. A very cool interior awaited us, we certainly didn’t feel we were in London anymore. The diner has a proper old US feel, if it wasn’t for the exposed brickwork you could quite easily think that you’re in a one of those long silver trailers drinking a cup of Joe. The red leather booths adds to the authenticity as does the long row of stools resting against an even longer bar.

Since the fire at the adjacent Electric Cinema in June, there has been a lengthy refurbishment. The new restaurant is a collaboration between the private members club Soho House and Chicago’s prestigious Au Cheval restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff. Oh to be a member of Soho House! One can dream…

It was the launch night so we didn’t get a feel of the typical clientele, instead surrounded by the who’s who of the London food scene, and er, us. We sunk into a booth and agonised over the menu for a lifetime. If we could have ordered a mouthful of each dish, we would have.

The sauce of the chicken hamburger is a little bit wired cuz it’s sour. I love the steak, it’s really nice. The avocado on toast with poached eggs tasted normal, nothing special. The waitress didn’t come to serve us until we ask her to.

It’s quite splendid place. Can feel very retro like in movie and the English breakfast was definitely nice. I ordered full English breakfast but may be half is enough. I completely suggest this restaurant!

By far the best English Breakfast I've had so far. The blood sausage has so much flavor, and everything else is cooked expertly to traditional perfection. Great ambience, beautifu rusticl interior, with a healthy amount of diner chatter and smooth jazz to right the mood.

Came in here on a whim, and was very pleasantly surprised. The salmon bagel with capers and cream cheese (they call it a “Lower East Side”) while not 100% authentic per se is still delicious and has good portions. Also, this is the first place I’ve visited outside of the states to offer both Boilermakers and Micheladas and that’s just a lovely thing to see elsewhere. It’s a perfectly cozy and pleasant place to grab a bite whilst you’re perusing Portobello Market, and the prices aren’t wild. Very tasty.

The staff here are very friendly and kind! I came in during the afternoon to read for a bit while having lunch, and there were a few other people casually having drinks and food while working on their laptops. The food is good, burger is slightly grisly but delicious and the chips are well seasoned with chipotle mayo. I really liked how the lighting above the booths is tilted off to the side with bulbs that don’t shine strongly in your face.

I m a regular electric’s customer and it never disappoints. Very good service, waiters are welcoming and polite to suggest. I love English vegetarian breakfast ( attached) but there is also the classic one with bacon and sausages. You have to try the French toast with blueberries, ( it is huge and so good) If you are looking for something with character, tasty and good for your wallet, electric is the place!

First time here and it was amazing, I’ll definitely be back soon. We had the beef tartare as an entrance. Then we order a chicken waffle and a buffalo sandwich and both were delicious. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary. The waitress was amazing, lovely woman, and she made amazing suggestions for us. 10/10

I went back to London after 10 years, and a friend dragged me for what she said would be the best English breakfast. How good can an English breakfast really get? Well, I was very surprised that everything on the plate was above expectations! What a change from hotels 10x reheated English breakfast in warm containers. Yes yes yes. She was right and I'll happily go back there!

I had a Eggs Royale w/ Sweet potato fries yummy 🤤 and a berry acai drink. I would definitely go back for more. My partner had a coconut yoghurt bowl and a grilled seabass which were both delicious. The coconut yoghurt is something I could have for breakfast everyday just with more granola and a tad bit of jam.

An incredible place that encapsulates the vibes of old diners you usually see in movies. The English Breakfast was extremely good but in my opinion, also a bit expensive. Also, maybe is the European mentality, but didn’t appreciate the 12.5% of service included in the bill without asking or previous notice, but at this point I am just nitpicking.

We had originally booked to arrive at 10:00 however we were late and they still accommodated to us and gave us the full allotted time of 90 minutes. They have quite a small menu but there is still choice whatever your brunch preference may be. We got the fry up and it was so lovely. I usually like sausages to be a little bit more cooked but never the less it was fab. The bread was delicious and the black pudding was to die for. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend, I believe they do accept walk ins however I would suggest booking just because it seemed to get quite busy

What an amazing place! Authentic super yummy American diner, with the best options you can get. Waffles, pancakes, various types of egg recipes, even sea bass. Everything was well presented and delicious. They keep it clean and tidy too, including the toilets. 5 star to the staff too, especially JJ who kindly and very friendly assisted us and helped to make the most of our experience. Highly recommended, especially if you're wondering where to eat while visiting the market.
