Friendly staff. Excellent food. Got to try the corn starter dish...it was so good we ordered extra. The location is great. If you like Thai then this is one of the most popular ones to try in this location. Short on some drinks but that’s ok as we were there more for the food.

Restaurant has a great location and is cute inside.

Service would be a 3/5 - we had a reserved table and were taken there promptly. Staff had very little knowledge in English which made communication and understanding the dishes difficult.

Ordered a Thai green vegetable curry which was nice but not as thick as I would have liked or flavoursome. Was on a hot plate so was lovely

Complimentary prawn crackers btw!

Ordered a spicy prawn red curry which was delicious! Gravy was amazing and prawns were amazing!

Coconut rice was lovely too

Total price was around £70 for 2 of us - no drinks or starters. Bill was steep and hence the 3.5/5 rating

I don’t remember how we stumbled upon this restaurant, but I am more than glad we did. It's been almost a month since we tried it and I can still taste the different flavors. We had the Dumpling Duo as a starter. It was too pretty to be eaten and it was even better on the inside. Even though we did not really know what was in it, due to lots of different flavors, but it was good enough for us. My boyfriend had the Chicken Kieaw Wan Curry and I had the Grilled Duck Kaeng Ped. They were one of the best dishes we have ever had! But his dish was too spicy. Mine was exquisite, especially the fruity touch that the lychee gave.
Of course I would recommend it!

One of London's best Thai restaurants. If you're vegetarian, be sure to ask for the separate veggie menu (they don't always mention it). There are also loads of nice places nearby for a pre or post dinner drink.

Just had dinner here with a very close friend and as a chef I must say it was a wonderful experience. I recommend this place for every Thai lover out there. Even if you're not a fan of Thai food you will love this!!

This branch of Patara is a smaller one but the food is still excellent.
Beauchamp place really is a world within Knightsbridge with a myriad of restaurants from all over the world. Patara is the perfect example of thai cuisine, though slightly pricey the food is immaculate.

I alway use chicken with spicy basil as a norm to taste the authenticity and taste of a thai restaurant, simply because I've eaten it everywhere, and it was excellent. It was made with mince chicken, which is the way your supposed to eat it and I asked for it to be thai as possible and I was satisfied with my request. I also ordered red curry chicken, which was sweet yet spicy, a component of thai food which was carried out exceptionally.

The restaurant is quite narrow and small but there is enough space for everyone to sit properly. I had a window seat and thus was able to see the happenings of Beauchamp place, something always interesting to see. The staff were mostly Thai and the thai hospitality that everyone is used to is the norm.

Overall great place, but not the best thai restaurant in London.

A lovely little place with amazing food full of fresh flavours and mixtures that excite your taste buds. My partner had patara's self named cocktail which was so nice. Didn't have a reservation but they accommodated us very well and the prawn crackers are the best! Worth every penny!

This branch of Patara is in a parade of shops on Beauchamp Place, not far from Harrods. It has a narrow dining room with quite smart fittings. It is probably easiest to drink beer with Thai food given the heavy use of chilli flavour, but there is a decent wine list (with tasting notes) if you prefer. One wine that works well with spices is the Dopff Gewürztraminer 2008, listed at £35 for a wine that will cost you around £16 retail, Saint Clair Merlot 2007 was £24 for a wine that will set you back about £9 to buy, while Cantenac Brown 2001 from Margaux was £72 compared to a shop price of around £40. There was even Monsoon Valley wine from Thailand at £18 for a wine that costs around £6 to buy. As can be seen, mark-ups are quite reasonable, especially by the standards of Knightsbridge.

Raw tuna salad with lime and mint dressing was enjoyable, perhaps a touch over acidic, while mint always tends to be a dominant flavour (13/20). A prawn salad, with lotus roots and some noodles, was good, the prawns tender (13/20). Sea bass, marinated then cooked in banana leaf was excellent as it was before (easily 14/20). Perhaps the best dish of all was a simple one of stir-fried sugar snap peas: these were beautifully cooked with spices, and had dazzling flavour (16/20 is probably too mean a score for this dish; a Michelin starred restaurant would have been happy to serve it). Service was rather sloppy this evening compared to prior visits; the staff are always friendly, but they seemed rather distracted at times, and there were some unnecessary delays. The bill came to £55 a head with beer. This (along with other Patara branches, especially the Greek Street one) is consistently the best Thai food in London.

At a recent meal here a raw tuna salad with lime and mint vinaigrette was a touch acidic but worked well (13/20), and a prawn salad had carefully cooked, tender prawns (14/20). Sea bass that had been marinated in spices and then cooked in a banana leaf was excellent as before (15/20), while the star dish was the simplest: stir fried sugar snap peas, that were cooked with a blend of Thai spices and were strikingly good (16/20), with excellent flavour. Service on this occasion was polite though the staff seemed somewhat distracted at times. Still, the food was once again excellent.

Mr. Wee and Nancy sat us immediately even when they were about to close. The ambiance is very cozy yet modern, the menu is beyond engaging (photos of each dish with a complete explanation), and the entire restaurant is so clean! The lunch special was perfectly priced and delicious, and the flavors were put together so well and tasted magnificent. When I come back to London, I will 100% return to Patara for great Thai cuisine. Thank you so much 🤗🇹🇭! What we ordered: Pork & Prawn Dumplings, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Pad Thai with Chicken, Chicken and Cashew with Rice, and Papaya Salad

I would say I'm not the biggest fan of Thai food and I thought maybe coming here might change my mind but it didn't. However my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. They had a whole page in their food menu for vegatarians which felt good as it allowed us to have options to pick. The atmosphere/ambience was really warm and welcoming however I didn't like how close the tables were from eachother as we could hear other people's conversations and they could hear ours. The staff were very prompt and quick to serve. The food came very hot and fresh, very colourful and vibrant. Unfortunately I didn't like the food as I'm just not a Thai food person but my husband enjoyed it. The only issue I have is that the following day my husband and I had an upset tummy. We still aren't sure if it was the food or something else. One more thing that really let me down was the amount we ended up paying which went up to over 100 pounds. We didn't even have much of it and it felt like we paid more than we should've. To those whom really enjoy Thai and want to splash out unnecessary money on food then definitely give this place a go.
