Olive Cafe

A small, (cosy?) cafe with good cooking and good service from people excited by their new venture. They do some turkish snacks and dishes and also very good breakfasts and very decent coffee. I just had avocado and poached eggs on sourdough toast. The avocado was ripe, the eggs well cooked, the bread good and a beautiful little fresh salad came with it with red cabbage and all sorts. A very welcome addition to Hornsey High St for me. Go try it out.

I've been back twice already within a week! Had Sunday morning brunch. The food is really generous in portions, value and so delicious! The Turkish eggs had tons of flavor and the tomato sauce was rich and perfect for dipping the bread in. All the food options are customizable. My daughter has a dairy and egg intolerance and they were quite accommodating. Everyone in my family had some kind of hash brown come with their meal and I had serious envy! The hash browns were so crispy!! The real charm for me and what brought me back the second time this week was the freshly prepared gozleme. Freshly made on the spot, crisp and piping hot; no need to go to Green Lanes anymore for my fix. Rose the owner is incredibly sweet. She's always smiling and checking and going the extra mile to make your visit special. The restaurant is well thought out and family friendly not only in terms of menu options but there are high chairs available for those that need them as well as a lending library that you can read while you're sitting in the cafe or even borrow and bring back later.
