I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place while walking back to my hotel! It was 10h20PM and we were lucky to be right on time before the kitchen closes. And the staff was oh so helpful and welcoming!

This is your next-door sushi place. For appetizers; we got the Sashimi salad(which came last btw, that was weird), miso soup and oysters. All of the latter were heavenly especially the oysters. So fresh!

We then ordered: Pink Lady(WOW), London London(WOW), Spicy Salmon, Salmon Avocado, Crispy Prawn(WOW), Volcano.

My favorites were very obviously highlighted above :)

Last weekend I had my first encounter with the lovely community at Nuffnang. A relaxed lunch had been arranged at Sushinoen. Sushinoen is a Japanese restaurant located right by Aldgate East station and a few steps away from Brick Lane. As soon as I walked in I saw Japanese diners. Local diners are always a good sign so I knew I was in the right place. The restaurant is very cosy and homely with sunken tables and a sushi counter. I’d definitely recommend Sushinoen and would return there myself. You don’t have to pay silly prices for good food. Venture out from the City area just a little bit and you won’t be disappointed

It's always great to get to know fellow bloggers, especially when it's over some delicious Japanese food! So last weekend I headed down to Whitechapel to meet a small group of Nuffnang bloggers (including Emma of course and lovely Jesse who invited me) and have lunch at Sushino En. I have to admit, I walked past it a couple of times and have always been curious about it. I wish I had tried their food earlier, because I really liked it!

The best restaurants, in my view, have the ability to envelop you completely in the culinary journey that they offer. So much so, that they act as a conduit to recollecting past visits to specific countries and are a true reflection of what that type of cuisine tastes like. Sushino En is definitely a place that fits that criteria.

A new food-tech start-up that’s giving a whole new meaning to the word ‘takeaway’. You enter your postcode, choose which restaurant you would like to order from, select your dishes, and wait for your food to arrive. “So it’s the same as Hungry House and Just Eat, I hear you say. But no, no it is not.

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is really friendly. At lunch there are menus that are more affordable. I recommend the London London roll, the miso soup and the teriyaki chicken. They are delicious !!!

Authentic Japanese Cuisine. Sushino En is a hidden treasure nestled right in the heart of busy Whitechapel road. The closest reference point being the impressive Whitechapel Gallery building, Sushino En faces directly opposite, a small but pleasantly laid out restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. The name Sushino means ‘ a garden filled with sushi’ and they deliver on their promise offering one of the widest selections of sushi in London, along with an extensive menu of udon soups, Japanese curries, traditional starters and an extensive drinks list. On a recent visit we took advantage of the lunch special ordering a mixed sushi and sashimi box which came with miso and salad. One of the most notable mistakes Japanese restaurants in London make is adding too much rice to the sushi. At Sushino En the balance is authentic, well crafted and letting the seafood shine – a good thing considering it was so unbelievably fresh. My udon soup was full of flavour and texture – thick spongy udon noodles, tempura prawn, sweet mushrooms and a deliciously flavoured broth. Technically Sushino En is spot on, and a must visit for all fans of sushi and Japanese cuisine.

My new favourite Japanese Restaurant!. April 5th, 2013 Review:

I've been very skeptical about Japanese food in London as it usually is disappointing or if it is exceptional its very very over priced. Perhaps i am prejudice because i come from western Canada where there are so many authentic, affordable and delicious Japanese restaurants. I also have to travel a fair distance to eat at a decent japanese restaurant here in London, so an actual good japanese restaurant in the area would be unreal.

So as such, when i saw a Japanese restaurant sign in East London of all places on the bottom of Brick Lane which is the mecca of Bengali/Indian restaurants, i was hesitant. First off the corner of White Church Lane has been many different restaurants and bars since i've been living in this area for the past 3 years. The restaurant has a good location but it may not be too quick to notice. once inside though you are transported to an authentic japanese experience with a friendly and caring Japanese staff.

The Menu has everything you want and more, donburi, ramen, sushi, sashimi, tamaki, tempura, udon, tempura, etc. I came during lunch and the set lunch menus were fantastic. About 20 different set lunches, ranging from £8-15, and were of amazing size and value. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry Set which came with a japanese wakame salad, miso soup, japanese pickles and then Katsu bowl for £8.95. I also wanted to sample one of the hot fusion rolls so I tried the Tower Bridge maki which had unagi (eel) and salmon on top of a mayo outside roll. Everything I had was very fresh, delicious and fairly large. The Set meal was a perfect size meal and of great value. I know the Chicken Katsu Curry is a fairly easy dish but its often done poorly in most restaurants, here they give you a large rice bowl with a crispy chicken katsu smothered with vegetable rich and delicious curry sauce. Very lovely. The roll was delicious with interesting flavours that worked well. i would definitely order it again. First impression, the food is authentic, thought out and delicious. I would be keen on coming again with friends for a real dinner experience.

I would also like to say that the service at Sushino En is excellent and caring. Not only did my waitress come over to ask if my food was alright, the owner came by as well. They were very attentive and pleasing a rarity in London i think.

All in all, I was very pleased with my first visit to my new neighbourhood Japanese restaurant and hope it does well for its self. A++ Sushino En. Let's see how you do for a busy Dinner.

Though there are a plethora of restaurants in and around Shoreditch I always want what I cannot of have and moan on an regular basis about how there is not a decent sushi restaurant. Little did I know that SushinoEn was tucked away on the corner of Whitechapel Lane opposite Aldgate East station. I don’t quite know how I have missed this place as I walk past it everyday; my powers of observation obviously are not fully functional at 7.30 in the morning.

Making our way to the restaurant we passed by a row of chalk boards advertising SushinoEn’s menu and Karaoke room, which made me apprehensive that we were about to enter into somewhere a little gimmicky. Even though we were greeted by a maneki-neko (one of those waving cats) I was relieved to see the open, simple interior only accented by Japanese movies projected onto the walls, polaroid pictures of their guests and other cool details.

It was a Saturday night so the place was understandably busy meaning that the only seats left were at the sushi bar, which was fine with me, I always feel like I have front row seats being able to peer noseily into an open kitchen.

After a hard day of work I rewarded myself with a much needed cocktail. Though not usually a saké fan, the blueberry saké mojito was amazingly refreshing.

Craving sushi but being a vegetarian meant that there were only two options on the menu – so I had to have both as well as the baked aubergine and some spicy edamame to share with the other half..

First out was the edamame which, unlike many other sushi joints, came doused in an incredible chilli sauce instead of simply sprinkled with flakes.

Next was on to the baked aubergine, smothered in a sweet sauce and finished with sesame seeds. Although it was tasty and so soft it melted in my mouth, I was glad that we had opted to share as the sweetness became overbearing by the halfway point.

Soon after came the main event, the sushi I had watched being loving prepared. The hand rolled dish was so fresh that it fell apart in my chopsticks meaning that I made even more of a mess than usual.

I may not be the most graceful of dates, knocking back cocktails like they were juice and covering myself in sticky rice and soy sauce but at least I know how to unwind after a hard days work. This is a great friendly little place to kick back and enjoy some freshly handmade Japanese delights

Lovely sushi place. Would definitely come again. I ordered the Tempura Udon which was very satisfying. The vegetable gyoza was good too. The restaurant had a good atmosphere.

Fresh and authentic Japanese food! But what makes this place amazing is the personable and friendly service provided by the lovely team of staff. The sushi and hot dishes were delicious. But make sure to try out their desserts as well, their matcha ice cream was the best I had in London. Will come back again.

Very friendly service. Food all good quality and surprisingly fast out of the kitchen. Fair prices. Certainly worth another visit. One thing to improve: get rid of the fruit flies.

I had an amazing experience at this sushi restaurant! The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, although I'd suggest adding pictures alongside the descriptions for easier selection. The sushi itself was absolutely fabulous, undoubtedly the best I've had in London. The extensive selection of different options was impressive, and the service was top-notch – speedy and delicious. The friendly waitstaff, hailing from Japan, added to the authenticity of the experience. Overall, a very fast, friendly, and tasty dining adventure!

A cute Japanese sushi restaurant! The chirashi don was presented beautifully and tasted just like it does in Japan. The prices are also really reasonable for London! The staff all spoke Japanese and you can tell it's very authentic. This is now my favourite sushi restaurant in London.

Sushinoen stands out in the Whitechapel district with its unique vibe, offering a delightful dining experience at a reasonable price. The food quality and ambiance are commendable, setting it apart from other restaurants in the area. The bento presentation is generous and pleasing, the sashimi is very fresh. It seems like the sushi are freshly made upon order as well - therefore you won’t experience a stiff rice texture like the one from chain food resto. For room of improvement, the tuna could use improvement in terms of freshness and fishy taste. The tempura is a highlight, with its freshly fried, thin crust and well-balanced seasoning. The udon's perfect texture rivals even the renowned Koya. The overall value, including food, portion sizes, service, and environment, surpasses other options like Eat Tokyo and Dozo. Notably, the exceptionally clean restroom evokes the feeling of being in Japan. Sushinoen is an underrated gem in the UK's Japanese dining scene, offering above-average fare. With its excellent value, I would gladly revisit this restaurant for another delightful meal.

Food was tasty, good quality and sticking to Japanese tradition. The place is good looking but also busy and a bit loud. A good experience overall.
