Top-quality burgers are served with choice of roast lamb or beef as a topping and chips and gravy on the side. Whilst it's a messy combination, there is some special alchemy at work here which makes the overall taste amazing, with the gravy, in particular, providing a satisfyingly meaty depth.
I had heard about this place through a food insider video about 'The places you should visit in london'! The visuals had already mesmerised me and i had decided that i had to try this burger joint!
So during my trip to london i was in the vicinity of the place and walked in to have a tasted of their signature burger! The ambience of the place was quite rustic and quirky which suits a burger joint! The place is good enough for dining in and i would suggest the same to get the real experience of the burger!
We had ordered for their Signature Beef Roast, Signature Lamb roast and the 1/4 pounder burger!
Every burger here is served with the gravy and fries! The gravy provided with the burgers is very tasty! It gives off a beefy flavour which definitely enhances the burger's taste!
BEEF ROAST
For starters the burger was really huge! The burger had a huge beef patty along with two slices of beef on top of it! The patty was fried but not the slices which gave the two different kinds of taste which was nice! The burger was really wet , it had huge amounts of sauces, it was literally drenched with sauces! On top of i put all of my gravy over the burger and went full hard core! The burger tasted really delicious and had uncommon taste much to my liking!
LAMB ROAST
Similar to the beef burger , this one was also very wet! This is the first outlet where i have seen the burger to be this wet yet it doesn't get soggy! The lamb burger was more tastier than the beef due to the lamb absorbing more of the sauce and juice than the beef one , this made the patty more juicy and a flavour bomb! It was identical to the beef one with slices of lamb replacing the beef ones and a fried lamb patty instead of the beef one!
The quarter pounder was nice but it was nothing extraordinary which makes me say that go for their signature burgers rather than the normal everyday burgers!
I'd suggest the lamb one for people looking for more of a flavourful burger and the beef one for someone looking for more of a meaty taste in their burgers! Both the burgers justified their taste in their own way!
I really liked the outlet which had warm & quick service along with some stupendously good burgers! I'd really suggest dip and flip to people who love burgers!
The best burger in Wimbledon area and one of the best in London. Super tasty meat, delicious sweet potato fries. Also loved the dipping part. Friendly stuff and fast service, highly recommended.
When Tim and I saw that there was a Dip & Flip opening near us in Tooting, I was seriously excited! I’d been to similar restaurants during previous work trips to America and the concept is amazing – burgers and sandwiches dipped in gravy! There’s a full description of the difference between a ‘dip’, a ‘flip’ and a ‘dip and flip’ on their website here.
So I love Dip & Flip. Seriously, a branch opening in my neck of the woods has not been good for my waistline. I've tried several things from the menu, and they're all pretty faultless.
My favourite is the bacon double cheeseburger. The burger patty, served medium, is perfectly cooked. Lovely with a bit of pink inside but a really nice slight charring outside. They're generous with their toppings too, the cheese just oozes out of this one. Oh yeah, D&F is messy - not somewhere for a first date! All burgers/sandwiches are served with gravy to dip.
Today I had the Xmas special - the Dip & Flip burger (roast meat, cheese and burger) with turkey instead of the usual beef or lamb. As expected it was excellent - the turkey was lovely and moist.
My companion had the secret menu item - The Farmyard. This was a monster - burger patty, butterflied breaded chicken, lamb, bacon, beef, cheese and egg. If you want a lot of food this one's for you, and it's quite reasonably priced at £16.10.
Another favourite menu item of mine are the bacon and green chilli cheese fries, which are a bit like a poutine. Seriously filling though, you only need one portion between two of you.
Shakes are good too - and the specials are usually pretty exciting.
1 word = Sensational. Get there now you will love this place it's quirky trendy and delicious all rolled into one the service is relaxed yet attentive and the food speaks for itself
Top tip = try everything you will not be disappointed !!.
One of THE BEST BURGERS IN LONDON. Personally, I am not a big fan of the dipping part (I prefer my ones normal) but they are so mindblowingly and unexpectedly delicious. These pics simply don’t do it justice. The prices are also very reasonable and the burgers are big. Words cannot describe the level of deliciousness their burgers reach so I must encourage yo to try them asap!
Their staff are always friendly and never had any issues with the place (visited here over a dozen times for the last year).
I didn’t understand what the “dip” was about until my meal came. They give you a little tray of gravy that you can dip your fries or burger in. In gets messy, but they’re prepared and give you a kitchen roll to help clean yourself up. I like the little touch of spices on the fries.
Very tasty food at great prices. But multiple times the restaurant doesn’t have the full advertised menu actually on offer. Imagine being told, “sorry, we don’t have the sandwich that is the namesake of the restaurant”. Or any of the similar sandwiches. All they sold those days were burgers, none of the “dips” with the gravy or roasted meat. Just “flips” AKA burgers.
So we had a standard (“flip”) patty melt, and the loaded Bacon Cheese Chili fries are the best I’ve had in London in a long time.
Quick, sufficient. Friendly service.
Walk in we’re not a problem as long as you arrive at 12 on the dot. Queue at the door..
Food tasty, can’t fault the menu.
Buffalo hot wings- extremely tasty. Miss the ranch dressing on the side from the old menu though. X
Wow, great spin on the burger, who knew a dip of gravy would take it to a whole new level. Awesome food, great atmosphere and superb service, what more could you ask for 😄😄
The burger and boozey milkshake was excellent! I highly recommend this place! Chill atmosphere and good service.
Not only is it the most juicy and delicious burger I've ever had the pleasure to eat, IT COMES WITH GORGEOUS GRAVY TO DIP IT IN. Service was very friendly and I felt well looked after. Great value and fantastic visit. An absolute gem in Wimbledon.
As always great food here!!! Burgers are cooked to your preference and they never get it wrong. The staff are all lovely, no complaints
Sorry not the best photo but the taste is on point!!
I was informed this place would provide the best burger I've ever had. Thought that seemed far-fetched, but BOY WAS I WRONG. The concept of having gravy beside your burger is insane, you may even dip the entire unit! Had a Beef burger with bacon and cheese alongside Lamb gravy, blew my mind away. I shan't come here too often or I'd become spoilt! Treat this place as a "once in a fortnight" delicacy.
Dip and Flip Wimbledon is a friendly spot for sandwiches, burgers and wings. Gravy is served as a side dip with just about everything! The Fried Chicken burger was superb, lovely thin chicken fillet served with a delicious coleslaw in a toasted brioche bun. The Korean BBQ wings & buffalo wings are also perfectly cooked and spiced to just the right level. Fries topped with American cheese were also good, personally they were a little undercooked but the abundance of melted cheese made up for this. Dip and Flip also has several beers on tap as well as offering a selection of reasonably priced whiskeys. Highly recommend for a quick lunch or dinner meal.
