Lovely place with a cosy atmosphere and great vibes. The food was excellent and service extremely good. I really liked this place and will go back
Delicious Turkish food and big platters as well. We shared one between four and ordered one more dish and was so full! Love the lamb and the home made dips!
What a wonderful meal we had here. It was a lovely warm evening and we stayed at a table outside. We didn't make any reservation but because it was 7pm on a Friday we were lucky to have a table. We chose the mix of dishes and after couple minutes our table was full of small dishes with wonderful food. We were getting full but dishes didn't stopped coming...The food is very genuine and service very friendly and efficient! With beer expect to pay 20/25£.
It's a very average Turkish joint, so don't expect too much. However, the Moussaka is very good, well balanced, so don't miss out on it if you happen to be hungry on Upper Street
We went there with a group of 10 people. We ordered meze and main course. I didn't get to taste every meze but all of them looked ok. I didn't like the bread they brought with the meze it was basically regular bread. A home made hot flat bread would have been nicer. For the main course I had calamari it comes with greens and salad and two different souces. It was ok food. I think if you go there you might wanna eat vegetarian food or the kebabs. The portions was huge. So the food is filling. I would go there for lunch it is so crowded and small for dinner. The main courses are around 8-10 pounds so it is a cheap eat. The service was very quick though. The staff was very friendly as well.
Great value and friendly staff. Broad bean starter and lamb dishes particularly good. Lively atmosphere.
I think quite soon we may die form an overdose of Turkish food, but that is the future and we are enjoying it whilst we can. There are many Turkish restaurants on Upper Street, which are proper restaurants, as we know them rather than the traditional Ocakbasi you may be familiar with in Dalston. Gallipoli is the first in a trio of restaurants that occupies a small part of Upper Street close to St Mary's Church. I've walked past this trio so many times, with it in my mind to sample what they had to offer inside. To say Gallipoli is eclectic inside is an understatement. Lamps, car number plates, bowls all hang from the ceiling. The walls are covered with old and new photos from Turkey. Yes it is a tad tacky, but somehow it does work very well. I felt very comfortable here. At lunchtimes they have a two course menu for £7.50p. A bargain, as a lot of the mains are a tad more than that. So we delved in with some starters and mains. My starter was a simple bean salad, which would have been
Gallipoli is an Upper Street favourite, with several restaurants and cafés all within about 50 metres of each other. I adore the darkened dining room, adorned with decorative lanterns and tapestries. The dining area is slightly cramped, with tables very close together but the dim lighting keeps things intimate. The menu boasts a selection of delicious meze for great prices and I particularly love the crispy calamari. Gallipoli also serves a selection of cocktails, making a mean mojito.

The cafe Gallipoli has a very nice selection for their lunch menu for £7. Everything is very good and you will get a lot of food. I could not finish it in the end. Their selection of Turkish starters and the houmous is particularly nice. In the evening you can have a chicha outside and they will give you a blanket to stay warm. It is a charming place at a very affordable price. Go for it!!
What a gorgeous gorgeous place!
The decor is incredible, very beautiful and upbeat vibes. The place is very big and spacious with 4 different seating sections, each with a slightly different decor but all lovely.
Great for large groups and small both.
The menu is huge with a ton of options all across.
Food was delish!! So yummy, it’s the best Turkish food I have eaten. I got a chicken dish - very juicy, well marinated and fresh.
The hosts & staff are very nice and welcoming as well.
Highly recommend!!
Amazing food, wonderful staff. They don't have your typical platters and dishes here, so if you know what you like, check the menu before going. I recommend the lamb shish, the meat was so delicious.
Mocktails aren't great, stick to soft drink or water.
I went for Turkish breakfast staff was so friendly and the food was decent enough. It was £15 pp and if you want menemen it charge £5. Definitely would come here to try more food.
My partner and I wanted some us-time away from the kids so we decided to walk around in the area and this hidden gem caught our eyes!
Entrance - Outside looking in, you would assume that it is a small restaurant but once you enter, it’s a completely different ball game! The restaurant is so spacious & beautiful !
Food - We had king prawns and Halloumi as a starter and the 120 Upper Street Special as a main! The starters were lovely, cooked from fresh & they even gave us mini bowls to wash our hands in.
The mains looked small but my God it was filling. Again, cooked from fresh, fresh salad and the chilli sauce was amazing !!
Drinks - My partner ordered two cocktails and I ordered a bottle of wine! Very nice!
Decor - Decor was lovely. Very traditional. It was like being in Turkey. Sevilmi!
Cleanliness - Very clean, the toilets were also very clean too.
Customer service - Was amazing! All staff were very pleasant and attentive.
Overall - Was dining for about an hour. Would I return? Absolutely! Such an amazing experience and a credit to Turkey!
Thank you!
I have been in Turkey multiple times and I have to admit that Gallipoli exceeds all expectations about food taste.
Service is very kind and caring, will definitely visit again.
Would recommend their home baked cream dessert.
Lovely Mediterranean restaurant, service was great, one of our party was running late and we were waiting quite a while but we never felt rushed. Food was delicious, we decided on sharing a lot of tapas type starters. Portions were very generous and absolutely yummy!. A first class meal, highly recommend 👍
Lovely place overall! The food was lovely, the atmosphere was brilliant! Nice ambience. They have a good variety of food but not so much on the drinks side but aside from that, it's been fantastic!
I do recommend this place! 👌
Great theatre and if you see a play this year, this little gem should be it. The Dollhouse was adapted brilliantly. Ends in October.. So get yourself a ticket. Just go and see anything as my first attendance will see me going back. The staff are lovely and drinks are reasonably priced.
A fantastic find, everything is delicious and fresh particularly the salad (I'm not even a salad guy lol) - comfy seats friendly service, I got carried away and ordered too much but it was soo good I can't be mad at myself!
Great Turkish restaurant with authentic food and music 🎵
Good breakfast options - staff are very helpful.
The Gallipoli restaurant in London truly surpasses all my expectations with its remarkable atmosphere, customer service, and services. Whether you're looking for a delightful dinner with friends or a professional business meeting, this restaurant is the perfect choice. The moment you step inside, you'll be transported to a different country, thanks to the captivating ambiance, authentic music, and warm hospitality. Not to mention, the food is simply outstanding, and the prices are reasonable.
Amazing food, the service was great. I would recommended it to anyone.
Great little spot, always good service and good food. Have had the quite a lot in the menu and everything has been good. If you have a sweet tooth the Turkish Delight hot chocolate is delicious
