A wonderful place in the heart of Covent Garden it’s a little gem. We started with the truffle arancini it was crispy yet creamy. The shepherds pie was just right. The ivy hamburger rivalled it’s more famous brethren and we then had the traditional fish and chips which was excellent. The chicken Milanese rounded off the splendid meal till we moved to the dessert which was the exquisite chocolate bomb.

Lovely setting, old school dining room decked in green leather and dark wood with uniformed attentive staff. Menu and prices were pretty standard for this tourist trap. Great place for afternoon tea.

I took my boyfriend on a date here. The service was amazing, the food was on point and the ambiance was amazing.

I will go there over and over again, couldn’t think of anything to fault the experience

Had a very enjoyable lunch here today. I had the shepherds pie that contained chunks of braised lamb as well as beef mince, topped with the most perfect mashed potato. To accompany this I had a side of peas and french beans - also cooked to perfection.  For desert the lemon baked Alaska was simply divine. Baby basil leaves added a beautiful light flavour to the dish that comprised a firm sponge topped with lemon ice cream hidden under golden meringue  with a lemon coulis... perfection.

I went here for breakfast in June and forgot to write my review. I was with a very fussy little girl from America who did not like a lot on the menu. They bought her a bowl of "magic" yogurt and berries. From what I could see there was basil, mint and some bee pollen added to the "magic". She ate the lot. Thank you to the wonderful waiter who made it so special for my guests. I forget his name.

Fancy place in Covent Garden! I ordered the Scrambled Egg with Salmon and it was so delicious! The egg wasn't bland nor too salty, it was cooked to absolute perfection. The Full English Breakfast was ordered as well and as these sets go, this one was full to the brim of traditional breakfast pieces.

As expected from The Ivy restaurants group, the service is excellent and the decor and ambiance is perfect for a lovely dinner out with friends. I get really excited by this menu, which is varied with so many interesting options to choose from. We started with the generous portion of zucchini fritti and truffle arancini - both are delicious. I was in the mood for something light so I went for the roasted butternut squash with grains, served with a harissa yogurt and coriander dressing. Beautiful flavour combinations and textures, particularly the inclusion of pomegranates which gave it a unique sweetness. My friend had the burger, which was disappointing as the meat was chewy and the bun was dry. Other than that, it was a wonderful meal. I would certainly recommend and go back.

I had a private dinner at The Ivy, I really enjoyed it.
Loved the burrata - it's an explosion of flavor: pesto, edamame, pine seeds. It was exceptional!

The main dish was not so special, chicken sided with gratin and leafy greens.

As for the desert, we got the chocolate dome! It melts into a bed of chocolate fudge, caramel and milk foam- a game changer!

We went there for breakfast on Saturday and was very impressed with the service and food. Decor and ambience are great - such a perfect place for weekend brunch.
They also have a really nice outdoor seating area facing the market.
Would definitely go again and highly recommend it.

Turned up at 10pm on Sunday and they ummed and ahhed about giving the two of us a table. It was busy, but there were tables available. We chose to sit at the bar and had dessert - the chocolate bomb which my sister downed in a couple of seconds and the creme brulee which was perfectly reasonable. The creme brulee served at the ivy in Dubai is the best I have ever tried anywhere on earth. The custard is thick and luscious and the sugar gives a beautiful crack. The offering here was not as thick and the sugar topping could have been just a millimetre or two thicker. The hot chocolate needs work, it is watery and overly sweet. Service after being seated was excellent and rather prompt.

The Ivy Market Grill is located on the cobbled edge of the piazza in Covent Garden. It is a branch of one of the most famous restaurants in London, The Ivy, which is popular with celebrities and theatre goers. The brasserie has an air of exclusivity, maybe stemming from the fact that there was a time when you weren’t able to get a table here unless you were famous.

Popped in for a quick lunch last week, very pleasant. The location is excellent, just across from the main Covent Garden hub and and hop, skip and jump from the Strand. On a crisp late winter day we sat outside in the sunshine, kept toasty with heaters and blankets and watched the world go by as we tucked into delicious, meaty burgers. Great little spot.

Remember in my City Social post how I mentioned that I get to eat out a lot for my work. Well I've got another gorgeous meal to tell you about, this time at the Ivy Market Grill. I think most people are familiar with The Ivy. It was the place to be seen in the nineties and had a reputation for being one of the finest dining experiences in the West End which has a very particular dress-code and demand that goes along with it.

It's been over a month since we returned from London, but it's still very much on my mind. Partly because it was such an amazing time and partly because the London photos keep scrolling through on the digital frame. One of the better meals we ate was at a place in Covent Garden called The Ivy Market Grill.

An iconic brand with its own entry in Wikipedia, The Ivy closed for refurbishment recently, re-opening on 1st June this year.  Meanwhile, Caprice Group, the holding company for a number of fine dining restaurants in London, have opened a couple of ‘outposts’ of the original Ivy; the Ivy Chelsea Garden and the Ivy Market Grill in the heart of Covent Garden Market.  Another is on the cards too, in Marylebone Village.

The Ivy Market Grill in Covent Garden opened at the end of last year, situated right in the heart of Covent Garden opposite the market. Not to be confused with the main ‘The Ivy’ in Covent Garden, although they are both part of Caprice Holdings. The Market Grill is an all day restaurant aimed at residents and visitors to the area to be able to drop in for breakfast, lunch, dinner and on this occasion afternoon tea.

I visited The Ivy Market Grill for a late lunch with my parents on a busy Saturday, we didn't hold out much hope on getting a table but we were seated immediately downstairs.

The restaurant itself can definitely be described as 'cosy', but there was enough room between us and the table next to us that we weren't listening to everything they said.

The service was totally infallible, the team were swift, friendly, and didn't leave us too long without service, but didn't make us feel rushed either. They even suggested that we take a break between our mains and dessert before ordering, and were happy to keep topping up our glasses whilst we chatted. They made the experience feel quite special, perfect 'silver service'.

We skipped starters since we wanted to make sure we still had room for desert, I went for the Eggs Benedict, and my parents shared the half grilled chicken, Shepherd's Pie and some seasonal veg. No complaints at all, the food was hot and tasty, and cooked to perfection. We ordered a bottle of wine and still water, and after that the staff kept our glasses topped up with chilled tap water without us having to ask.

The desserts were the real highlight, between us we shared a Strawberry Shortcake Sundae, Treacle tart and Mango sorbet. They were delicious, and good portion sizes too!

For three of us, two courses with sides, wine and 12.5% service charge came to £110, not a bad price for a 'luxury' dining restaurant in central London! I'd definitely return, the price is reasonable and the menu is well stocked with options I'd like to try!

Having waited a week since the opening, and with it very close to where I work, the urge to check out Caprice Holdings’ new baby was practically overwhelming. And so to Covent Garden’s The Ivy Market Grill we went, with a booking for dinner on the Tuesday of its second week.Little brother of dining stalwart The Ivy, it feels more accessible than the mother ship, with much of the menu pretty reasonably priced,  and half the tables reserved for walk-ins. This almost makes it feel more casual, but the menu is fabulous and the décor stunning, all dark wood panels and mosaic floor tiles. It was super busy on a Tuesday, nearly full. We ordered wine and Prosecco and got stuck in to the huge menu – it’s all British classics, simple and delicious. There were about 18 things I wanted to order but felt one should exercise a bit of restraint in these situations. I generally try and stick with two courses to avoid actually being a house, and this time took the risky decision to have a main and dessert (good choice – more on that later). We ordered the shepherd’s pie and half a Banham chicken, which came with French fries, along with extra greens. The pie was delicious, chunks of lamb rather than mince with creamy potato and cheese. My other half found it slightly underseasoned, but it should be noted he like things salty.  The chicken was juicy and full of flavour, covered in a lovely herby marinade/rub, and the veg was crunchy which I love. The dessert was actually the highlight for me, which is rare – I normally prefer a few slabs of cheese and/or more wine, but this was incredible. It was a ‘chocolate bombe’, a sphere of dark chocolate encasing vanilla ice cream, surrounded by milk foam and with hot salted caramel sauce poured over at the table to melt the ball and expose the middle. I love salted caramel but this was something else, so rich and perfect with the milk foam, which stayed foamy even with the sauce poured on it, and not a hint of resemblance to spit. They also have their own branded gin and  Champagne, which coincidently is something I aspire to.The service and atmosphere were great, if I had to highlight small niggles they would be that I asked to swap fries for beef dripping chips but they didn’t materialise, also it was extremely hot in there – to the point that we went elsewhere rather than have another drink. I’d still go back, there’s loads on the menu I’d like to try, it’s pretty reasonable and still feels like somewhere special.

Had a lovely late lunch/early dinner at Ivy’s on Friday. We didn’t have booking’s however lovely gentleman by reception manage to find us (4 girls) a table. He had some fish and chips, salmon, asparagus followed by amazing cocktails! 🍹 We absolutely enjoyed service by mister Andrew who’s knowledge of food and hospitality in general is extraordinary. 😍 Thank you for making our night Andrew. Next time we fly in to London we are visiting this place again! 😍

Visited this place by accident as I didn’t know it was there, we were going to the theatre and it was VERY busy so we were seated at the bar. It was quite a show with the hustle and bustle of the staff and they were amazing. Food Service was slightly slow but like I said they were very busy. Food was delicious. Service charge was 13.5% a little over the average 12.5. But very worth it.

My husband and I just had an amazing meal here after a theatre trip. The food was absolutely delicious and I loved the fact that we could choose from the three menus including the Asia so i took full advantage and had the monkfish curry which was incredible. Our experience was made all the better by our outstanding servers Ellie and Alex. Ellie was so friendly and attentive. She's an absolute treasure 👏👏

If I could have given 10 stars I would! This was our first visit and we were blown away with the service & food. It’s our 30th wedding anniversary and we thought we would have a nice lunch here as the outside seating area looked very inviting. The reception staff passed us the menus and handed us over to one of the waiters. We were early so had a choice of tables. The staff were polite and attentive at all times. Our shepherd pie was delicious as was all the food we ordered. While chatting with one of the waiters we mentioned our anniversary and at dessert time he brought us an anniversary chocolate bombe each, a lovely gesture and it made our day! Thank you to all the staff, an anniversary meal we will remember. Highly recommend.

A beautiful space with a fantastic menu. Either they were understaffed or not trained well but the service was painfully slow and our server seemed very nervous the entire time. Food, atmosphere and location made up for it (as well as the Air Conditioning on a hot day).

We were able to book a dinner very last minute and what a pleasant surprise. The space is quite big inside with an edgy and retrò decor. We've ordered fried zucchini and cheese soufflé as starters and OMG both were absolutely fantastic. Portion sizes are quite big. As mains we've ordered the Ivy burger and the glazed Korean chicken. Nothing to say here. Everything was cooked perfectly and vary tasty. The service was a bit slow but that's ok. We spent 69£ total.

Visited this restaurant twice in 2 days while visiting London. Fantastic vibe - super cosy and gorgeous look of the place. Very busy so highly recommend making a booking in advance. The food was great with a good selection! Service was wonderful. Great selection of drinks too - Salted caramel espresso martini in particular was superb.

Great experience! We were seated fast without booking and had a very lovely waiter. She was just great! We took shepherds pie and fish& chips, very good taste and the serving. Fish and chips came without tartar and lemon so we ordered it extra, but I don’t remember if they charged us for it. Shepherds pie delicious! The red wine sauce was very nice. Putting four stars because they serve brunch and the table next to us asked for simple things like, fried or scrambled eggs, maple syrup and they couldn’t do it. So maybe not the best bruncherie. Overall very recommended. Enjoy!

Great food and service. The zucchini fried and truffle pasta were especially good. The fish and chips were above average. Beautiful interior with reasonable prices.

Good restaurant in the heart of the popular and lively Court garden area of London. Great traditional British restaurant decor, louder conversation with background music, and great service! Appetizers, drinks, desserts were all amazing, while the main course was good. Definitely a good restaurant to visit, but avoid the Ivy dish of the day, since I felt it was good, but rather simple.

Beautiful lunch on the hottest day of the year. (6th September) Neel my server and others were super attentive. I was a walk in for one and couldn’t recommend it more. Steak tartare, wasabi squid and strawberry mint martini pictured ❤️
