Wow! What an amazing lunch Kemey and I had a couple of weeks back at Stratford restaurant, cocktail bar and wine cave – Darkhorse. Set at the base of one of the East Village towers (former Olympic Athletes Village) in Stratford, Darkhorse is a seemingly aptly named contender for one of the best places to eat in London I’ve come across in quite a while. Kemey and I certainly loved our leisurely Saturday lunch.
Lovely dinner spot, perfect for date night! They have a very impressive wine menu, the service is fantastic and very friendly. I ordered the grilled pollock for the main - really tasty. The squid arancini balls are amazing and a must try. Overall lovely meal, I will definitely be back :)
Took my nieces and nephews to the DarkHorse to meet their Grandmother, some for the first time. From booking to the last handshake at the end of the evening these guys were amazing and so accommodating. We didn't ask for too much I hope, but everything was a yes. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing especially the steak. And loved the music vibe...
Everything, from the service to the presentation and taste of the food was amazing! Highly recommended, we loved our cocktails and I personally recommend the pork neck 👌🏻
I recently dinner at The Dark Horse with my kids and family, for our Easter Sunday meal. We loved it so much, that my eldest child told the waiter, they'd give the restaurant 5 stars if the dessert matched the level of the starters and the mains. So here I am, on behalf of my child, whom at times is a harsh food critic, giving a 5 star review! Well deserved!! The food was absolutely scrumptious and we will 100% be returning.
I really wish I took photos inside especially once evening set in it was stunning, as it was so warm we chose to sit outside but it's a lovely place with a lovely character inside. The staff was friendly and attentive but also gave us plenty of space to enjoy our time and conversations without constantly interrupting. We used the sundowner set menu and chose the 2 courses, really good value for money. Loved my pig chop it was so succulent and cooked to perfection. We shared the 2 desserts the Creme brulee was divine and so was the hot chocolate brioche pudding I can't recommend enough! Our cocktails was quite strong and tasty definitely got our moneys worth. Definitely add this place to your list! Everything was on point cannot complain
A very successful family lunch in a European-style restaurant. All dishes were very tasty. Coffee and dessert at the end were a great finishing touch after a short bike ride around the Olympic Park. The food was excellent, the service was perfect, we felt great.
Had a great experience tonight at the dark horse. The food was amazing as was the atmosphere. We decided to stay and have a few drinks at the bar after our meal and it was great to watch Matt and Rhys work their magic with the cocktails. True professionals, masters of their craft. Not the first the time we’ve been here and certainly won’t be the last. Highly recommend this for a quality night out.
Today I had my first experience, having Easter lunch with my family. The food choices are impeccable. The carrots, were absolutely delicious 😋
Came here for a Sunday lunch and restaurant was fully booked during lunch. I ordered roast lamb roast. The lamb meat was pretty tender and juicy. I wasn’t happy with the roasted potato as it was slightly hard and not fluffy as expected inside. The Apple and apricot crumble tasted delicious and topped with ice cream yummy! Overall I think it’s a nice restaurant in East Village. I would come back again during the week for their other menu.
The food was lovely and the service is quick. I had the Octopus salad to start and the Lamb for mains. The lamb was done nicely and not seasoned to death like most other places. Only negative are those damn chairs, I kept hitting my elbows or the nerves around my elbows all the flippin' time, get a hacksaw and chop the long arms of the backs off please!
