Decent 'modern' Indian food but the highlight for us was the service. We were well looked after by the friendly staff the moment we stepped into the restaurant. Not to mention dining in a library was a special experience. The space was large and it didn't felt crammed or noisy despite it being a full house. Makes a delightful meal!

One of my favourite restaurants in London. We’ve eaten here a good few times and have always found the food to be amazing. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. You should definitely try out their tempura fish varieties. Both food and service are well worth the premium you pay. Would highly recommend!

Only the cruelest twist of fate could ensure I’d encounter the most foodgasm-inducing #IndianFood I’ve tasted ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, on my last weekend in London. 🇬🇧. The Cinnamon Club – enhanced by an atmosphere so grand, all you can do is gaze around flustered – sees you dine among colossal bookshelves of what was once the former Westminister Library (if you’re a booknerd like me, this is pretty much heaven). 📖

We came here as a present for my birthday.

The walls covered in books makes the ambience very warm and elegant.

We took the tasting menu, worth trying it.
There are ten portions, going from meat to fish. They are small enough that you can arrive at the end of your meal without feeling heavy.

All dishes are quite spicy, on a scale from one to ten I would say a five. It’s not a place for someone that does not like the spicy. The menu is interrupted with a sorbet between the meat and fish, to refresh the mouth from the spices and being able to switch.

I loved their dessert.

Strongly recommended, I would go back.

One of my best experiences in my last trip to london was the cinnamon club , the place is very unique from the setting which sets in an old library and most importantly the amazing authentic Indian food this place serves.
If you are a big fan of indian cuisine this place must be on your list :)

I love this time of year (well, when it’s not wet!), there is something truly lovely about a crisp autumn day; a waft of bonfire smoke, the trees turning glorious colours, and not least a proper excuse to tuck into warm and spicy food.  On top of this in our multi-cultural city, we get the fun of both Diwali and Guy Fawkes to celebrate in a short space of time.  Both mean lots of fireworks and a jolly good excuse to celebrate.

Great service and great food with a good selection for both Vegetarian and Carnivores. Staff a great help in selecting the best dishes and food arrived promptly and was fresh and delicious. Great decor and ambience where you can talk to your guests without the need to shout. I would highly recommend the visit at circa £40-50 per head. We had the following and all tasted great:

- Chargrilled chicken
- Courgette
- Black lentils
- Yoghurt soup
- Coconut mouse
- Apple crumble

I would visit again and restaurant also has three private dining areas so hope to visit one day and do a full YouTube review via our YouTube Channel "the 888 crew"

I'm not one for Indian cuisines flavour but now and then I'd like to venture out of my comfort zone. The restaurant is set in the old Westminster library so when you first walked it you would probably be taken by how quiet the dining atmosphere would be, nonetheless it was relaxing. ( beware not to walk past it, looks slightly hidden!)

We ordered from a la carte menu. I had the zucchini deep fried flower while my friends had cod and duck. duck looked well done but super soft and very well seasoned, so was the cod. (I know, we liked to pass food around the tables). The zucchini is nice but I personally think the flavours were too strong for a starter.

My main dish as the lamb was cooked to medium rare and was tender. There was a chilli kick in all the mains ( my friends had halibut and prawns - good choice). Whilst I like the meat, I wasn't overly impressed with the stuff that came with it - corn, rice, it was just much sauce.

The chocolate bomb my friend ordered was beautifully presented but disappointingly in texture and quality -it was just frozen chocolate ball outside and some ice cream inside. I thought chef could probably poor some hot chocolate over it so it would be easier to eat and my friend didn't have to hammer over the chocolate ball to break it?

Cheaper option and refreshing for a heavily spiced meal would be the sorbet option - recommended.

Alternatively, you could have the polenta cake - served warm with ice cream , it was good.

Food came out pretty fast, course after course and service isn't anything that you would remember or rave about.

Cost around 70 quid each for 3 courses, a bottle of Pinot to share, incl. service.

It's an indian fusion restaurant. The menu is very unique. i had the pan seared aubergine steak, which is very unique, but not indian in any way. They use indian spices in the same way spices are used in europe. Unique, but not really my thing. Tasty , but not something I would want twice.

Dining here was a snap decision and we walked in without a reservation. The staff were friendly and asked us to wait in their bar as they prepared a table for us. The bar was straight out of a Charles Dickens book. The musty smell of books lingered as we sipped our drinks and waited. We didn't have to for long.

This is not a typical Indian restaurant. It has very few vegetarian options so take a good look at the menu before booking a table. Also, the servings are not that big. Just appropriate for two people.

Try the Chaat and the Old Delhi Butter Chicken. Both are brilliantly prepared. I would give full marks to the chef for presentation.

Who doesn't want to sit inside a London landmark and eat good food. Will definitely visit again.

I had a great time at one of my favourite London restaurants during a special Exploration of Greece wine tasting last month. Led by affable and knowledgeable Laurant Chaniac, wine consultant to The Cinnamon Club and Kitchen, the intimate event was held in the restaurant’s intimate library, where guests were invited to sample a range of greek wines paired with exceptional dishes such as pistachio and spice crusted saddle of lamb and tandoori cod with fenugreek seeds. I loved all the wines and pairings of the night, but without doubt my favourite was the one at the end served with dessert: an especially deep flavoured Assyetiko Vin Santo 2004 (of which only 1,000 bottles had been produced).

I can't remember the last time I wore a shirt to dinner. Admittedly this is partly because I'm not really into dressing up for food (read: I'm lazy) but mainly because the modern diversity of London tends to override the pressures of class these days. A guy in a hoodie can now be more educated and earn more than that guy in a shirt, and appearances in the main are meaningless. That's not to say certain dress isn't appropriate for certain occasions, but more that specifically that The Cinnamon Club is far from somewhere I'd make an effort for. You can kind of see is for what it is quite quickly: a posh indian, and a lot of that was confirmed during the actual experience itself. Mixups on the orders, undue influence and "suggestions" on what we should drink and major errors on the bill all contributed to the feeling that the appearance was all a bit of a facade, a place that once again caters only to those who want to tell people where they went on a Saturday night rather than those who want to have a good experience and food for themselves. And it may be a personal slight, but tonight was the first time a grande restaurant had denied a request to provide a small room to pray in.Which is a real shame because quite frankly the food was actually rather wonderful. Due to the size of our party we stuck to the set menu which included three courses and a drink, and I had no complaints for any of it. The chickpea and peanut cake for starter was different (in a good way), the fish main was sublime and even the biscuitless cheesecake turned our collective misgivings into words of praise. The drink was the simple lemonade mixed with a choice of syrups and cordials which seems to universally work so well. Ad at £30 per head it was actually pretty decent value too.So yes: a decent night was had with great food, only to be spoiled by a failure in service and focus on the superficial. I don't think it quite makes my list of places to recommend in London, but with a few tweaks The Cinnamon Club could be something pretty compelling.

Best Indian Restaurant in london. Excellent venue for groups, business meeting and couples. Went there fiurst for a business meeting which was hosted and thoroughly enjoyed. Second visit was with my partner on the occassion of our second anniversary. Simply Indian where you can actually taste the flavours of each ingredient.
Love the whole Modern Indian concept in the old westminster Library near London eye, house of parliament and westminster abbey. That makes it perfect location for tourists.

Explosion of flavours. Whilst I enjoy a good old fashioned curry as much as the next person, the Cinnamon Club has taken indian flavours to a new level. On top of that great cocktails (recommend the library bar if you want to have conversation), and impeccable service (accomodating specific food requests, to having a taxi waiting when we left). We had the scallops, kofta to start, both wonderfully flavoursome, and you just don't expect those flavours which makes it even more enjoyable. The Red Deer and baked Sea Bass for mains. The deer was some of the best I've had, tender, perfect medium rare again with those amazing indian flavours, yet they didn't over power the venison. The sea bass was simply dee-lish. All this comes at a price though, it's not cheap, but then it shouldn't be, it is special. We would highly recommend and we'd definately be back. Brilliant!

Not run-of-the-mill. The Cinnamon Club has a good lunch and breakfast menu. The anglo-indian food style offers some good and uncommon dishes. They also offer traditional English options. The service is excellent. The restaurant is a stones throw from the Houses of Parliament and is often used by those with political links as a place for meetings and, occasionally, a bit of plotting.

We had an amzing meal at the Cinnamon Club. We went for the faster menu that's a daunting 8 courses and way out of our price league, but for a special occasion it had the wow factor and did not dissapoint. Elegant flavours matched with balanced wines and beautifully presented. Posh but not pretentious. Favourite dish was the spiced Madagascan tiger prawn, amazing flavour and the biggest prawn I've ever seen. Top end dining.

All in all, we had a lovely evening. The food, while extremely tasty (especially the prawns!) didn’t seem to me to justify the premium that Cinnamon Club commands over other Indian restaurants such as say Dishoom in Covent Garden or even a particularly good curry house. Still, the food was lovely in a beautiful setting, but ultimately we felt a little bit down by the impersonal staff. As for the price tag, there’s no doubt this is a place to treat yourself for a special occasion.

Cinnamon Club has a reputation for being the best Indian Restaurant in London and it certainly lived up to this on my long awaited visit. As the pinnacle of Indian cuisine in London I have been craving to go to Cinnamon Club for years and was beyond excited when the perfect opportunity came up. It cost £2.6million to set this restaurant up, by converting the Grade II listed building which was the Old Westminster Library. The actual dining space is a calming and spacious large high ceilinged room with rows of books lining the upper mezzanine. This is a beautiful space with a sense of grandeur and authenticity to it, helped by the leather panelling and classic wooden tables and chairs, as well as the fact that all the waiters are dressed in smart black suits. The restaurant also houses two very different bars, one within a library which exudes a calming atmosphere, and a slightly more quirky and modern bar downstairs.

The Cinnamon Club provides an open spaced, semi-formal environment to dine in. We arrived quite early for dinner which was an advantage because we could still enjoy the peace and formal atmosphere before the dining room filled up with couples, business people, and office parties – which then turned the dinning room into this fun and buzzing ‘food court‘– we quite liked that as well.

Phenomenally good food. You know you've eaten a step above the norm when you've been here. Don't go expecting your traditional UK Indian food, this is more of a fine dining fusion. We had deep fried lentil as an aperitif, followed by a delicious Kentish lamb for starter and an incredibly tender red deer for main. Truly melt in the mouth. Dessert was a top spiced carrot cake with cinnamon ice cream. I'm keen to try the other cinnamon restaurants now.

This is an outstanding restaurant occupying the spot of a 19th century library in sight-seeing central. Thankfully, the designers incorporated the well built fixtures and fittings from the original structure. The restaurant have decided to run with that theme and I rather liked it.

Perhaps the pictures of contemporary working people from India decorating the bar were a little jarring, given the clientèle quaffing expensive hooch.

The presentation of our food was superb as was the flavour and freshness French fusion fish-cake starter. The Delhi butter chicken was a masterful reincarnation of that which is found there.I found that each individual spice and flavour could be located with my pallet, a sign of a great dish. The curry was served with authentic butter rotis. Service.Service was excellent, helpful yet non-intrusive. The head waiter was kind enough to show us around the kitchen, where two roti ovens were to be found along with a dedicated chef who expertise was in slapping the dough on the inside of the oven surface. No easy task! The result was perfect rotis. It is an expensive experience but one should not feel short-changed for a special night out. Still cheaper than flying to India which might be the only other way to sample these dishes!

There was a time, back in the dim and distant past, when I was rather sniffy about high-end Indian food. It started, I think, with a rather unsatisfying experience at Benares in Mayfair, where I had a couple of little bowls of curry, some quite nice chicken tikka, and some mini poppadums and was charged about £45. Then not so long after I went to a blogger's dinner at Tamarind, which though better in terms of variety still felt a bit half-hearted, shackled (I thought) by the constraints of Michelin-starred dining when Indian food should be all about fire, spice and immediacy.

The thing is, I have a feeling that both of the above - Benares and Tamarind - were even at the time much better than I gave them credit for. Being a hopeless devotee of noisy canteen restaurants like Tayyabs, Lahore and Mirch Masala, I probably regarded the soft furnishings and silver service of the high-end as missing some vital element of heart and passion, as if whatever it is that makes Indian food so good couldn't possibly thrive next to fine wines and tablecloths.

Which is of course, not only completely wrong but slightly patronising. The French can have Arpege as well as their local bistros, the British can have Fera and a pie and mash shop happily co-existing. So why can't Indian/Pakistani food be just as much about tasting menus and fine dining as it is about queueing in Whitechapel for a mixed grill?

The only worry is that with new kids on the block Gymkhana and Trishna stealing all the awards, press and limelight, stalwarts like Westminster's Cinnamon Club can too easily be overlooked. But I am pleased to report that every table in this beautiful old library was taken on Tuesday night, and for good reason too - the food, every bit of it, from start to end, was absolutely superb.

That's not to say everything about the evening was perfect, however. Staff were a little thinly spread, and flagging them down for drinks was occasionally tricky. Martinis used room-temperature glass, meaning by the time they'd got to the table they were approaching lukewarm, and I think even though we were happy to plough our way through the £75 tasting menu (it was a Tuesday after all) it would have been nice for them to bring naan breads and chutneys without us asking.

But all the niggles were answered with things like this - king scallops with cauliflower and sumac couscous, perfectly crusted and packed full of flavour, texture provided by crumbly veg and a lovely dollop of sweet chutney.

And this - a moist, charcoal-grilled partridge breast, with a fresh raita and some expertly dressed salad. When the dishes first appeared your first reaction is one of slight disappointment; presentations seem dated and lazy, just thrown on a plate then sent out. But the flavours and techniques make up for it in spades - these are top ingredients treated with care and with a masterfully subtle command of spicing.

How else, for example, would you explain how a cube of chickpea with coriander chutney and spiced yoghurt was almost the highlight of the entire meal? Beguiling flavours and wonderful textures creating a single exquisite mouthful of joy. "I could eat about thirty of these I think" my friend said, as we were polishing up the leftover spiced yoghurt with our fingers.

King prawns with shallot raita again looked like nothing much special on the plate, but had been grilled to perfection, containing moist bouncy flesh and a deep, earthy spice mix.

A palate-cleanser of mint and lime sorbet (no complaints) came before a fillet of sea bass, a good crunchy skin covering soft, moist flesh. Underneath, curried chickpea and chorizo was like a fine, slow-cooked Indian cassoulet. Technically precise, but also packed with a balance of flavour that meant you never wanted it to end.

Roast venison with black stone flower and onion reduction combined classical French techniques with a few slices of perfectly moist deer loin, and some crunchy bits and pieces of root vegetables. Of all the dishes this was perhaps the most straightforward, but was still nearly impossible to fault - if you can't enjoy pink venison, roast potatoes and a thick reduced onion sauce, then there's surely something wrong with you.

I'm not entirely sure how to describe this - it was sort of a cross between yoghurt and cream, but was quite grainy in texture. In fact I didn't like it much, although the rice crispies were quite nice.

This sticky toffee pudding - sorry, spiced apple pudding - was more like it though, caramely and rich with a nice rich cinnamon ice cream on a little circle of brandy snap. I've never really had a dessert worth writing home about in an Indian restaurant, so the fact they've decided to go down the traditional English pudding route is understandable. I loved it.

And I loved much of the rest of it. OK, asking for bread was a bit annoying and I could have done with a colder martini but when you leave a restaurant grinning from ear to ear and determined to do it all again the first chance you get, you know you're onto a good thing. £115+service is not a trivial amount to spend on dinner, not by a long shot, but if you consider it's 10+ courses with about 8 glasses of wine, well, it's not really a ripoff either. This fine old institution is just a new set of tableware and a glass freezer away from being unassailable. Or perhaps the 90s stylings are part of its charm. Either way, here's to another 10 years.

I wasn't invited to the Cinnamon Club but for various reasons we didn't end up paying.

Cinnamon Club has a reputation for being one of the best Indian Restaurant in London and it certainly lived up to this on my long awaited visit.

As always with Michelin Star Restaurants, the bathroom is luxurious to the extent that it stocks L’Occitaine products. In fact, this is the first restaurant I have been to where there is a doorman to open the door for you as well as call you a cab should you require it when you leave, throwing the swank levels of the scale.

Would I Want Seconds?
Of course. Executive Chef and celebrity in his own right Vivek Singh is amazing, as is his menu. The dishes on his menu all have traditional Indian origins but are also given are slight European makeover to deem them worthy of a Michelin starred kitchen. Cinnamon Club’s aim is to combine traditional Indian cooking techniques with modern European design templates to create dishes that are very distinctive to this restaurant.

Cinnamon Club has a variety of menus to choose from including a highly acclaimed Breakfast menu, an eight-course Feast Menu and special festival showcases. Alongside this array of food, the extensive wine and cocktail menu also reflects the diversity and quality on offer, which is to be expected from a restaurant which has two bars.

One fear with top quality restaurants like this is that the portions will be tiny, but this is not the case with Cinnamon Club. From the three courses that I ordered they were all a decent size. More importantly of course the flavours are beautiful and well thought out. The spicing in my curried char-grilled chicken breast was warming and soft on the taste buds. My dessert, a white chocolate parfait was stunning and a perfect way to end the meal.

Could I Afford Seconds?
The reason why it has taken me years to step into Cinnamon Club is purely because of the price. Politicians frequent this place for lunch regularly but when you’re not getting your meal expensed Cinnamon Club was out of bounds. However I was beyond thrilled when I discovered the restaurant had launched a ridiculously low priced set menu which allows humble beings like myself to dine at such an exclusive restaurant.
The set menu consists of two or three courses for under £26, which would usually be the price of one main course if dining from the a la carte menu. This menu is available Monday to Saturday: 12:00pm–2:45pm, 6:00pm-6:30pm and from 9:30pm onwards, and it is definitely worth a try.

Overall:
I’ve tried a few high-end Indian restaurants in London and Cinnamon Club is one of my favourites.Although this is one of the best and most exclusive restaurants in London diners eating from the cheaper set menu are not hurried along or brushed over. Instead the service delivered by the doorman to that by staff in the two bars and in the main dining room in attentive and well-informed; it’s obvious that the staff here are trained to make everyone feel like a VIP and it’s a feeling I’d happily get used to.  I would highly recommend Cinnamon Club to all and am yet to think of a negative about it.

"Wonderful decor, extremely attentive chef & staff, gorgeous tasting menus and that's all before even mentioning how delicious every single item I tasted. My favourite mains were -Spice crusted fillet steak of Wagyu beef with stir-fried baby
morels, saffron sauce £95.00 worth the price. You will not regret it:)
The desserts especially are such a wonderfully original retelling and fusion of the classic Indian desserts."

First port of call, a drink at the bar downstairs! Drinks are at standard London prices although Husband was pleasantly surprised by the £4 tag on a Kingfisher. After waiting almost 15 minutes for our drinks, we were getting hungry & cranky and opted to take our drinks upstairs to our table.

After much discussion over the menu, to start, I opt for the Char-grilled Welsh Lamb fillet and Husband decides on the Tandoori breast of pigeon. Verdict: exquisite! Earlier drinks crankiness forgotten, we tuck in, well actually demolish our starters. The lamb positively melts in my mouth, subtly flavoured but still packing a punch. The tandoori pigeon is similarly a taste explosion with none of the garish redness that accompanies the usual Tandoori fare.

Course 2: for me, Allepy tiger prawn curry while Husband opts for the smoked saddle of lamb with saffron sauce. The prawn curry was a clear winner, hot, smoky, spicy and completely divine. 3 absolutely giant prawns meant I happily shared my seeming never ending portion. While the lamb did also have a knock out flavour, it was simply that compared to the prawns, it didn't stand a chance.

My only bug bear was that we seemed to be hurtling through our meal at an incredible pace. Water glasses were topped up with every sip (Admirable...but ultimately annoying), no sooner had we chewed our final mouthful, plates were whisked away and the next course presented. Given we were only seated just before 8:30pm on a Thursday night, it seemed unlikely that they could squeeze in another sitting... so why the rush?

Finally, dessert. I opted for the Dark Chocolate & Pecan nut pudding with Garam masala ice cream while Husband settled on the Honey Lime cheesecake. The chocolate pudding was a let down, seemed to me just a hunk of dark chocolate without any flavour, no complexity of taste saved only by the absolutely fantastic ice cream on it's side.

Not being a cheesecake lover, I couldn't offer objective judgement, but Husband assured me of it's delicate and interesting flavour.

A toffee/caramel birthday cheesecake was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated - although unfortunately, taste wise, it was fairly bland and unappetising.

All in all, we had a lovely evening. The food, while extremely tasty (especially the prawns!) didn't seem to me to justify the premium that Cinnamon Club commands over other Indian restaurants such as say Dishoom in Covent Garden or even a particularly good curry house. Still, the food was lovely in a beautiful setting, but ultimately we felt a little bit down by the impersonal staff. As for the price tag, there's no doubt this is a place to treat yourself for a special occasion.

A seriously good dinner, and great value too - with the toptable offer we had 3 sublime courses and a cocktail (plus a little amuse bouche pre-starter) for £24 each. Never had modern Indian food like this before!

I can't forget the experience of having dined at Cinnamon Club, its been more than 2 years but is still etched vividly...This place is brilliant, my first brush with modern Indian cooking and it took my breadth away.

Everything was served with perfection and care. We had the tasting menu with wine - each course was uniquely presented but retained the Indian taste. Would surely go there when I am in London next, just to relive those memories...

The Cinnamon Club is probably the most famous high end Indian restaurant in London. It's located in a lovely building and has two bars, one in the Library that is cosy and a more flamboyant one in the basement.

Service was a bit lax initially, but it improved after we ordered. We went for a menu with matching wines. We found that the Cinnamon Clubs Wine matches were competing too much with the flavour, all of them were really heavy and full bodied. I found the whole experience exhausting.

Some friends who visited The Cinnamon Club a few days before us, had issues with not being allowed to transfer the bar bill to the restaurant bill, which was inconvenient as the bar was busy and they ended up having to wait 15 minutes for it.

The restaurant has 2 AA Rosettes, which sounds about right.

The Cinnamon Club is a unique Indian restaurant, located in an old Victorian style library in the London borough of Westminster. Cuisine is modern India as customers are mainly business men and British political. If you go, you have to try the homemade malt whiskey, bottled in the restaurant and available at retail.

We had an excellent dinner, both thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food and the great atmosphere. We chose from the A La Carte Menu and our dishes included King Prawns with coconut rice, Mallard, and Spicy Chicken. We had an excellent amuse bouche to start and a nice touch were some delicious petit fours that came with our coffee.

Having wanted to experience the Cinamon Club for some time but with some concern based on the mixed reviews of both service and food quality, we booked a table for four on Valentines night. I am delighted to report we had a fantastic evening. We started with pre dinner drinks in the quirky bar downstairs and then moved to restaurant to commence a fantastic four course dinner. Both the ladies in our party were vegetarian which the menu more than catered for and which were both innovative and delectable.
Even though and I suppose naturally full, the restaurant did not feel overcrowded and the atmosphere was just people enjoying themselves and the company they were with. The whole ambience of the old Westminster Library initially appears like it will may be too formal, but that is just not the case, it was laid back and very relaxed.
The service from when we were met at the door, to the bar, throughout the meal and to the point of leaving including an unexpected small gift bag for the ladies was spot on. We didn't feel rushed and even though we had booked our table at 7.30pm, we half expected to be under some pressure to finish up soon after 9.30pm to turn the table around, but the table was ours for the evening.
It wasn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination, however it was Valentines evening and there an enhanced menu, including pre dinner belini, but it was definitely worth it for this special occasion.

Recently we planned our dinner at Cinnamon and we dined in evening. We first decided to have drinks and ordered Drinks in the Library Bar which were very weak, served chilled with masses of ice. Could hardly taste Gin as the glass was filled with ice and tonic but as we were in our conversation we were least bothered to get it replaced. The service was fast service for drink. Restaurant had the dress code which was smart casual. Staff at reception area did seem fairly casually dressed but did welcomes very warmly. Number of guests were dressed in jeans and very casual clothes according to the dress code. The food was really nice spicy and delicious.
Will def visit next time.

I can only what my fellow blogger has written above. Great for game dishes and they also do some amazing wine & spice evenings through out the year. One of them I got invited was completely different and unique experience..Their events team made sure we were looked after and for the price we paid we got a really fantastic value. 5 courses, drinks, canapes and 5 types of wine carefully matched by their inhouse sommelier and the head chef himself. I think £90 is way too less for this kind of overall experience.
Simply splendid and I suggest you check out their future wine dates. It usually gets sold out very quickly but you can get lucky if you reserve early.

The refined and pioneering jewel in Chef Vivek Singh's crown is my personal number one restaurant.

My family cooks and eats Indian food on a regular basis (we're Indian!), so the exotic range of flavours used are familiar to me. Yet suddenly here the combinations were new and exciting, somehow both subtle and punchy in the same bite. Most remarkable is the ability of the kitchen to conjure layers of taste that make each mouthful an adventure that lasts long after the initial, tantalising bite. Each dish was a talking point in its own right, and I came away with a new found appreciation for ingredients I've been consuming my whole life.

We had one of the tasting menus (there is a regular one and usually some sort of seasonal special one I believe) and one of the wine pairings, which I highly recommend since they helpfully offer a range of pairings to cater for different budgets. We went with the lower end one but were not in the least bit disappointed - indeed quite the opposite, and if you compare it to a bottle or two ordered by someone with a relative lack of knowledge about these things (ie me), it really is remarkably good value.

Beware the ambiance can come across as stuffy - this is the Old Westminster Library after all, and politicos tend to be the main clientele, so a suit and tie is the norm rather than the exception, but personally the setting, which has kept some of the original library features, added a further element of grandeur to what was a spectacular meal matched by exemplary, unfussy service.

My dining companion had no experience with the flavours of the subcontinent and she was equally as enraptured as I; we both cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The Cinnamon Club is in a grade II listed building, formerly of the Westminister library, the seating area is very grandeur with some of the book cases kept on the top level, a nice reminder of the past. The decor is perhaps dated, but I suppose the scope for renovation is limited in a place like this. With the high ceilings, impeccable staff, and open plan seating there is a strong air of sophistication that comes from eating here. I felt awkward taking pictures, exposing myself as a commoner (blogger) and risked be chucked out back into the gutter. But the staff were friendly, although at times inaudible when describing the dishes. The sommelier was great, and the phrase 'peppery undertones' in a french accent, really swayed me for the choice of red wine.
For canapes, we had duck somosas, lamb sheekh kebab, and cucumber and mint soup as a palate cleanser after the quite intense flavours of the kebab. The duck samosas were great, the pastry thin and crumbly and the richness from the duck inside was fantastic. The kebabs certainly packed a punch, with quite a lot of chilli in there, the cucumber and mint wasn't that flavorsome, but definitely what was required to get the heat out of my mouth before the salmon course.
Cinnamon club are renowned for their use of game meats, the main dish consisting of pigeon, quails egg, burger, and spicy lentils. If that wasn't enough we also had biryani rice, black lentils, garlic naan bread. I really could have that pigeon everyday, perfectly cooked, I never knew a pigeon could melt in my mouth, but now I know. I'm really going to have to up my game to have more of it. However, the lentils were too salty for me and over powered the pigeon slightly. This truly was a fantastic experience, leaving with wide grins on our faces, we had got through land, sea, air and..er..pond, and all before 3 pm. The normal menu is a bit pricey, but they quite regularly have deals on their website 2 courses for £22.

Visited for a special occasion and had the summer tasting menu and a bottle of wine! The dishes were a mix of comforting and familiar, interesting and unexpected. I didn't taste anything I didn't like - my husband was a bit taken back by the first course though. For the price I would absolutely recommend the seasonal 4 course menu and someday I hope to try the 9 course menu. Also.. the Khajur Burfi blew my mind! What a plate! The atmosphere here is definitely upscale, with a hint of romance. The setting is unbeatable - I've seen a lot of sweeping rooftop views but I've never dined among books - even the cheque comes in a book. Our waiter was lovely and went above and beyond for us to make our special occasion memorable.

Solid dining experience. The staff were very professional and polite. Upon entering, we realized the place was packed, and we hadn't made a reservation. The entire front desk team made sure to find us a spot within minutes of arrival, and unlike other restaurants, there was no hint of annoyance at walk-in diners on a busy night. The food was quite interesting. The portions were perfectly sized for an individual and given in amounts that had a strong flavor hit without overpowering you in quantity. Someone put a lot of thought into the menu flavor profile. Food was great. I enjoyed the chicken mains more than the beef cheeks. The dessert was good, not too sweet. Again, everything was well balanced. If you like trational indian food, the flavours here may be a bit weak for you. I love all flavours of Indian food from lava hot to mild or sweet. Cinnamon hit the mid range flavour profile for me. The atmosphere was quite cool and my favorite part of the dining experience! Loved the library decor and the small touches of getting your bill in a book. I wonder if the book is chosen based on the patrons' behaviors :P

The Cinnamon Club was recommended. We visited the restaurant for lunch. We were late for our reservation soI called ahead to let them know. They were cordial and accommodating. We both ordered the three course lunch. My wife had the app -sardines, main - chicken Brest, and almond cake with sorbet. Me app - potato cake w/ curried chick peas, main - ox cheek vindalho, masala mash, & pickled onion, and almond cake with sorbet. The service, atmosphere, and food was amazing.

Came here for a business dinner with 7 of us, and we all had a good time. The table ordered an assortment of drinks and did family style food order. Totally worth coming here on a Thursday night at 7pm. We had the halibut, prawns, butter chicken and shahi paneer plate as mai dishes. The whole table was satisfied. For dessert, we ordered the black cardamom brûlée, tutti frutti ganache and let me tell you… so good. Worth coming!

Came here for a work dinner, 5 of us in total, 2 vegetarians, and 1 peanut allergy. We had a quick drink downstairs while our table was being prepared. All the cocktails we had were lovely and the atmosphere was perfect. Once our host showed us to our table, he was excellent throughout. Catering for all tastes and allergies. Recommended some very tasty dishes based on our likes and preferences. He was able to ask the chef to make some of the dishes slightly larger to cater for 3 people instead of the 2 on the menu. The butter chicken and paneer dishes were absolutely stunning. The breads (naan and roti) were fine, nothing like the mains but maybe that’s the point. Atmosphere and setting were very unique. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday evening but we didn’t feel crowded or rushed in any way.

Best Indian food ever . Food was beautifully presented and was definitely the best I have ever had. Service was impeccable, and the staff were very courteous and prompt. Great place, worth the price of the food and the drinks. My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant and we were very happy. The service was very good and we were not disappointed at all. The staff were nice too. They offer you to keep your belongings for you if you want. You can even ask them( if there is a chance of course) to charge your phone for you if needed. When we arrived it was full and they offer us to take a sit downstairs if that’s okay for us as they have a bar which was nice. I met Chris again after a long time not seeing him ( I used to work there years ago with him) and he treated me very well. Thank you Chris my girlfriend was very happy for me being treated well.

For an Indian fine dining experience there are some factors definitely missing but on its own it was an average / good experience. Pros: -Quality of the dishes -Menu variety -Quite a lot of tables -Location Cons: -Decor and presentation severely lacks below other fine / Michelin star places -Staff openly had their own private conversations in front of their customers - Cocktails were poor and did not match price expectations or their lavish descriptions - if sitting in the mezzanine, you will have a significantly worse experience than the main floor (you essentially walk through the back of the bar to get there which ruins the experience) Wouldn't recommend against other fine dining places in London. If you are looking to tick it off your list and only care about the food quality then may as well give it a go.

First time in London and having Indian food! 20/10 experience! We had the Cinnamon Summer Festival 6 course meal (4/6 pictured) I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture of all of the food since we couldn’t get enough of it. The flavors are amazing! I’m pretty picky when it comes to food and I finished every plate! No crumbs left lol the waiter Saif was exceptional, he described every dish perfectly. We had adequate time in between every dish so we didn’t feel rushed at all. The ambience was great as well. They even hand you your bill in a book. Everything is so perfectly thought out. I’ll definitely come back here whenever I’m in London!
