Very quiet at opening time on a Saturday. Service was prompt and polite but nothing memorable. Just did the minimum needed to fall in to the “good” category.
Food was nice but nothing special (except the honey chicken wings and the flan caramel, they were very tasty). We had Vietnamese food in Green Papaya which was much better.
True rating would be 3.5 stars
I had the bún bò huế, which I knew right away that I wanted as soon as I saw it on the menu, and it tasted amazing! It was spicy, but the spiciness wasn't so overpowering to the point that it would make the broth lose its actual savory taste. There was an abundant amount of tender beef, which was a great thing. There wasn't a lot of noodles, which could be a plus or a minus depending on what one wanted. For me it was a minus because it would make me feel like the dish wasn't worth £15.50, but it could also be a plus because there was a good amount of beef.
I didn't personally try the tofu summer roll but my friend seemed to enjoy it in ways that were like, this wasn't bad or good, just standard rolls.
Overall very solid place! I think it's suitable for grabbing a quick meal, although the space was small and could be packed, and service could be slow depending on the time. I had not had other Vietnamese food in London yet, but what I had here was definitely good.
The food was excellent! the king prawns curry and fried noodle were very tasty. The Vietnamese coffee was very good too! But The Pandan waffle and ice cream had bland taste
Great dinner experience. We had a set menu, mine vegetarian. Generous servings even with a set menu. I was afraid I'd be hungry after, but was pleased. Also tasted great! Will be on my list of restaurants. ❤️
Cute lunch place to have lunch with a friend!
The place was small and we were seated quickly. It did take a bit of time to get our starters, but once we finished them, the mains came almost immediately, to my pleasant surprise. I was tempted to take a point away for how long it took at the beginning {people who were seated after us were served before us}, but the server was astute enough to check whether my friend was vegetarian after hearing her order {she was} and warn her that one dish contained meat, which was very considerate and something I don't see often.
We both had pho {my vegetarian friend was fine with a beef broth} and were happy with our choices. She's much more of a pho expert than I and she said that she was happy with how her tofu was done, claiming it was one of the better tofu noodle dishes she's had. I'm not a broth-finisher in general because I find many broths too salty, but I drank more even after the noodles were done. I felt like the broth was nicely seasoned even before any of the usual add-ons were mixed in {e.g. limes/lemons [they provide lemons here], sriracha, hoisin sauce/tương đen, etc.}. I didn't feel overly full either. It was a lot better than the last pho place we went to.
The lunch deal is pretty accessible price-wise and I'm interested in trying other dishes here in the future~
10/10!! If I could, I would give it more stars! This place is fantastic! Everything about the setting was amazing, including the food and customer service. came to celebrate the birthday of my girlfriend, and they treated us like kings and queens! We also had the summer rolls and bun bo hue, both of which are very delicious. Best dining experience we've had in a very long time. will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We'll come back soon ;)
Such a lovely restaurant. We went twice during our stay in London. We felt like we were in Vietnam when we visited. Both times, everything was incredibly nice, courteous, and welcoming. We didn't know much about Vietnamese foods, but one friendly waiter even went as far as to explain the food to us. The food was fresh and delicious, and it was well worth the money. Definitely recommend it to everyone.
When I worked nearby a couple of years ago, this was my go-to spot for lunch. The food there is amazing and fresh, and everyone is so friendly. It will be difficult to find a restaurant that serves Vietnamese food better than this one. I would definitely recommend it for a quick delicious lunch. I'm glad to see they're still open, and I'll be returning!
The best Vietnamese restaurant in London that I've ever gone to! The pho was really delicious—better than anything I've ever tasted at another Vietnamese restaurant! The broth was so flavorful that I couldn't stop eating the soup! A good location to keep you warm. The summer rolls were a tasty start, and all the ingredients were fresh. It's also a fantastic hangover snack😂I would still go back regularly and strongly suggest it!
We were welcomed by a friendly staff and the most amazing smell as soon as we came in. We ordered the spring and summer rolls, pho soup, Com tron braised prawn with pork, and bun hue as a group. Every dish was perfect. Tons of flavour and a lovely presentation. We would gladly suggest them because we were so pleased with the ambience, food, and service.
Sweet potato aubergine curry and chicken mushroom rice were very delicious. The vegan mango salad was nice and fresh. The barbecue bao burger, beef noodles soup, grilled aubergine and the fried bao dessert were all good. Beef spring rolls was fresh but dry. The restaurant gets so crowded after 18:00, so it’s better to go earlier unless you have no problem to wait outside.
We got the Groupon for these place three times, the first and last time it was very good and the one in the middle was underwhelming. We recommend the honey wings and the ribs for starters and the lemongrass beef noddles for main!
Absolutely delicious food and the staff were lovely too.
We had to wait a little longer for one of our dishes, it was no big deal to us but they took 10% off of the bill as an apology which went down so very well. Customer service like that is wonderful.
I will 100% go back and will definitely recommend this place.
