Superb family Italian restaurant.
The place is very small with about 7 tables so you must book if you want to go at the weekends.
We started off with the calamari and mozzarella with tomato as starters. Very nice introduction with big portions.
I ordered the Pollo del chef which was chicken breast coated in breadcrumbs with cheese and aubergine. It comes with potatoes with rosemary which was very tasty. My wife had the veal with mushrooms, cheese and ham. Again very tasty and hit the spot.
The whole meal reminded me of my time in Rome with traditional home cooked meals.
Good service with helpful staff.
Highly recommended and will be returning soon to try the other dishes.
Lovely, family run restaurant. The lobster risotto is a favourite of mine. Small, personalised service, excellent food and good wine selection. Make sure you book on weekends as it's always packed.
Best in town. We've been regulars at Angelo's for several years and it's spoiled us for any other Italian restaurant.
The food is exceptionally good and the ambience unique. .
Children are welcome and always seem well-behaved.
It's difficult to select a dish to recommend as they are all good. But you need a good appetite or exceptional self-control to eat a three course meal as the portions are generous.
Our favourites include any fish dish, the veal parmigiana and the home-made pannacotta.
It's a popular place and it's best to book. Don't miss the chance to experience an exceptional family-run restaurant
Best Italian in North london. Recomended to me by an Italian Cafe Owner, Angelos is an absolute delight. Family run (Husband, Wife, Daughter), it seems to operate as a cafe during the day and then a Restaurant in the evenings. Its a little cramped and homespun inside but that just adds to its charm. Its the menu though that sells the place. The Bean Soup on the starter menu is to die for and I have yet to have anyy main corse that in any way disapointed - superb pastas, escalopes and steaks. And the deserts, if you can find the room, are wonderful too. The service is very good with the Owner (Bruno?) and his Wife always finding time not only to ask if everythings okay but to have a little chat too - a genuinely nice touch from people who seem to enjoy what do.
I have visited Angelo's on several occasions now, noticing not only consistantly good food and service but that many of the customers appear to be regulars too. As a lover of Italian food, I have paid FAR more for an Italian meal nowhwere near as good in Soho, Fitzrovia and ovent Garden. Who needs the West End when theres a place like Angelo's on your doorstep?
Both the food and service were excellent. A great menu with a real home cooked taste and a lovely welcome. A place worth costing again and again.
Best Italian Restaurant. AT long last i phoned Angelo's eating place after several attempts of trying to book for a saturday night, i finally managed to get a table for me and my wife. I had Veil Chop and my wife had a Lobster Risotto and it is an experience to live for.. The food was so delicious and tasty, we asked the lady's namewho took our order and we found out she was the chef's wife she was very bubbly, friendly and down to earth. When it came to the bill we found it to be extremmely reasonable compared to other restuarnt in north London.. and what we were astonished most was their passion for their family run restaurnt. A great atmosphere a wonderful evening, and true home made italian food.. i cant believe that this restaurant exists, in a world full of chain and fast food italian restaurants which nowadays we see on every high street
Excellent food and service, a real sense of being Italy, Thank you Carmela for being so welcoming xx
We had a party of 26 for lunch , they shut the restaurant for only us. The owners were so accommodating when we went there 5 days before to discuss menu choices etc. The food was absolutely 1st class, everyone's food was perfectly cooked, presented and piping hot. We chose this venue for my fathers 'Celebration of his life' for just family and very close friends, it was just what my father would have liked, old school type Italian restaurant, fantastic food over all 3 courses and superb Service.
Highly recommend ...
Lovely service, lovely food, lively atmosphere. A very comfortable and cozy place that makes you look forward to coming again. We've been a few times and recommend trying this quality restaurant!
Don't let the front decor mislead you. It may look like a transport cafe, but you should take this as more of a statement that they don't need to use cheap tricks to get you to come.
The atmosphere is wonderfully friendly and homely. The food is great and reasonably priced. The staff make you feel at home, in fact it feels like you have gatecrashed a family gathering.
The only criticism I can make is because they don't employ a brigade of staff they can be a tiny bit slow when it gets busy. However, we were having such a nice time it did not matter.
Delicious food and sUch a warm and friendly welcome. The hosts chat with all of their customers, whether it’s your first time there (like us) or you’re a regular (like some of the other customers in the restaurant). This is a real gem. Thank you for a wonderful, tasty, relaxed evening!
Great time there. All the staff were really nice and we had good service. Food was pretty on time as you'd expect, and it was all great! Even though the portion sizes might be a bit too big for me to handle.
I have been coming here more than 25 years perhaps since 1990. The food is authentic always fresh and the service warm and truly personal. I love the homely individual decor, dated indeed, atmospheric Italian with a touch of London!
Great little restuarant. Not big but it proves big is not always best.,Very nice menu,if you don't like Italian you could be in trouble. Spag Bowl is the thing to die for,I have had it in many restuarants and very exclusive hotels and this one is up with the best. So much to choose you are spoilt, very honest and down to earth, service was excelent ,cant wait to find an excuse to go back.
Chanced upon this lovely little restaurant after looking for a pizza restaurant locally. We've lived in the area for 15 years but never knew it existed. We'll be coming back soon. Food was great and the service was super friendly!
Small unassuming restaurant with great service, atmosphere and well cooked old school Italian food. Will definitely go again. Portions are large!
