The Elgar Room Brasserie

Faultless. Seated promptly and our server for the evening, Alan, was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the menu, both for the food and the drink and came up with a great pairing suggestion for the curry I had. The starter (honeyed carrots) and the mains (vegetable Thai yellow curry) were both superb. Desserts and coffee were waiting for us during the interval and the banana/caramel dessert was delicious. Price included service charge and fit three courses plus a drink each, seemed very reasonable indeed. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had a delicious meal prior to the Simon Rattle Paradise and the Peri prom. The food was cooked with love, beautifully presented and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very chilled. Thank you Anita for looking after us so well. Overall our experience at the Elgar Room made this memorable evening even more special.

I have only ever been to the Elgar rooms for a pre-concert meal. For this it is very good. Staff are efficient and helpful. They only have one sitting all evening unless there is jazz or a piano recital late in the evening. This means you can leave coats and come back for desert and wine at the interval. Worth checking the location before selecting seats, it can be a long way to the stalls. I'll certainly go back for a pre-concert meal when I have the opportunity.

We arrived late but was greeted warmly. My wife and I had the same blistered carrot starter which was sensational. My wife's steak to be honest was cooked very well but had a few to many tough bits for an expensive cut of meat, my pork belly was amazing along with both our deserts. The standard of service was first class, special mention to Tatiana who was delightful and attentive, give that girl a pay rise. Would highly recommend all round, best dining experience in ages.
