Great vibe, nice views and attentive service!
Seafood was brilliant - the Dover Sole was as good as expected! A great Sunday evening. Highly recommend.

London is buzzing with the news that, in the last few days, just in time for the Oxford and Cambridge boat race, celebrity seafood chef Rick Stein has opened a restaurant in Barnes. How convenient then that it’s located just a few steps from my home, in historic Tideway Yard, occupying the premises that, for 30 years, housed its much loved predecessor, The Depot.

We had a great experience having dinner on Saturday at a nice table overlooking the river at sunset. The food was excellent as was the service from Luca and his professional team. An experience we will certainly repeat soon!

Nice restaurant, lovely view of the river. Food was quite good, but not sure I'm convinced of the ratio between the food's "poshness" and its price. Had the tuna guacamole starter, which tasted refreshing, and the seafood curry, which was nice but the beans on the side were a bit too raw for my taste - and certainly too much garlic.

Really good food, friendly and fast service, and a good selection of wines. They can also make you a custom cocktail - I had a cold and asked for a hot toddy and was not disappointed.

Great restaurant with superb views along the Thames. The fish and chips were superb as were all the starters. Really good front of house and great value for money. Would definitely recommend!

Located with views to the river Thames, it’s a great place for dining somewhere a little bit special. I’ll get the negative point out of the way, it can get quite expensive depending on the choice of food (relatively small portions) but the quality & taste cannot be faulted. Otherwise, the experience was excellent, great service and attentive staff. There are a few window tables which we were lucky to be seated at but can’t be pre-arranged. Lunch menu was quite extensive and there was a special menu during the valentine period. As expected, predominantly seafood based dishes but there were also a couple of steak choices. Overall, recommended for a special occasion and a good dining experience.

I can’t say we’re diehard Rick Stein fans, but, the food and friendly service was absolutely exceptional! We hadn’t booked a table, but, we were made to feel extremely welcome and well looked after throughout our lunch, despite the fact that we weren’t eating and drinking as much as some surrounding tables! We will absolutely be back! Worth requesting a table looking out over the water for beautiful views.

Nice lunch at Stein’s in Barnes. Lemon sole was delicious and light - loved the puff pasty fleurons! Generous portion of fish and chips and the batter tasted lovely almost cake like. For desserts, the raspberry frangipane tart with vanilla ice cream and a sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream went down a treat 😊.

Really nice food, we chose from the set lunch menu which was good value, and we had super service from Alice who talked knowledgeably about the food and gave us a little anniversary surprise 😁

Seafood and champagne excellence. From the moment you arrive, you'll be struck by the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. The ambiance is incredibly relaxing, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. And what a meal it is! The seafood is fresh and delicious, cooked to perfection by a team of chefs who clearly know what they're doing. But what really sets this restaurant apart is the five-star service you receive from the moment you walk in the door. The employees are incredibly knowledgeable and always on hand to help with any questions you may have. And let's not forget about the champagne. RICK STEIN'S BLANC DE BLANCS, CHAMPAGNE, FRANCE NV, is a real highlight of the menu. Sipping a glass of this delicious fizz alongside some expertly prepared seafood is an experience that you won't forget anytime soon. Overall, I would highly recommend this river side restaurant to anyone looking for a dining experience that ticks all the boxes. The combination of amazing food, stunning views, and exceptional service make it a real standout in the area.

The Rick Stein in Barnes is a really lovely little restaurant on the river. The decor and atmosphere is lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The oysters were fresh and a perfect way to start along with the soup. Fish and chips was very fresh, grilled monkfish also decent. Surprised to try the chilli crab here, which was also fresh and good tasting. Desserts were not bad as well. Go with the house recommended wine!

By far my favorite fish and chips in London. All the dishes I've tried here have been exceptional. Great flavors, amazing presentation. The restaurant also has a nice vibe, with great views of the Thames. The staff is always nice and friendly.

My partner and I just had a wonderful meal. Attentive and aware service. We were moved to a riverside table as soon as one was made available. The food was outstanding. We recommend the lemon sole goujons, tuna guacamole, scallops, Indonesian curry and Dover sole. The desserts were divine. Good luck and god bless!

I recently visited Rick Stein's Barnes and had an amazing experience. The oysters were fresh and delicious, and the troncet of turbot was cooked to perfection. Our waiter Graham was very attentive and lovely, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. The only downside was the amaretto sour at the end, which could have been better. Overall, I would highly recommend Rick Stein's Barnes for anyone looking for a great seafood restaurant with fantastic views over the Thames.

Came here for my mum's birthday, the food was excellent to be fair if not a little pricey. You are paying for the name. We ordered the tuna tartare and some oysters to start. Then the fish and chips and Hake dish for a main. I would recommend both mains but the tuna tartar was nothing special. The service is great! Went out if their way to make the our experience special.

Beautiful and serene restaurant right on the Thames. Loved the decor with glass windows to the river, plants dangling from the ceiling, and colorful prints on the wall. Food was fresh and delicious and great reasonably priced wine list. Loved reading the insights about each wine on the menu. Service was fantastic and very attentive.

Beautiful restaurant by the river. Great staff and service and the food is really good. The small conservatory at the back overlooking the river is a plus. More a 4.5*. Exposed brick in the conservatory contrasting with the white walls and ceiling in the main area. The green foliage in baskets hanging from the ceiling gives an almost dining al fresco feel. The deep green on the leather seats by the wall compliment the wooden chairs and black top table with golden metallic border. All very stylish, cosy and relaxing, with lovely background music. My choice of clam chowder and smoked haddock with dugleré sauce couldn't be faulted, the chocolate and pecan pie a fitting end to a good meal. I personally really like Rick Stein's restaurants: the food is no-nonsense good quality ingredientes, very well cooked and well presented. It tends to be very tasty and it never disappoints. And the deco and ambience always stylish and relaxing. Highly recommended.
