A must try for Jamaican food lover like me. It's a cosy little restaurant in Brixton Market but so authentic with the big pots of stew right behind. A true and hearty food with a great atmosphere, the staff is cool and lovely, felt like in Jamaica. Excellent place in Brixton.
Simple, flavoursome Caribbean food in the cultural hub of London. Easy on the pocket, the meal is filling and sumptuous.
Staff are friendly and helpful. I wouldn't say it's the best Caribbean meal I've had but definitely authentic. Whilst in Brixton, this place is a must try.
What I had: the jerk chicken and rice
Perfect little place in Brixton.
Went here twice in one week. Food is made fresh and with care. Whether the friendly staff or the owner serves you, you're greeted warmly, given time and offered suggestions when asked. Jerk Chicken and Cod Fritters were my favourite, though the goat was also good. Ginger beer can be strong if you're not used to it, but will definitely kick you awake. Good with or without the rum. Enjoy!
Goat roti, home made ginger beer (very spicy and sweetness just right ), tings (Caribbean grapefruit fizzy drink very nice), reggae chicken wing with mango chutney spicy sauce yum...)
My girlfriend and I were trying to find somewhere to eat in Brixton Village on Thursday evening. Unfortunately we'd left it a little late and some of the better known places already had queues out the door and a long waiting list.
In a moment of pure genius she suggested we should try out Fish, Wings & Tings (if you've not see it it's a small lot with yellow signs at the front of the market on Coldharbour Lane).
As I hadn't heard anything about and it didn't look too busy I might not have popped in if I'd been making the decision alone. Thankfully we did.
The first thing to mention is how warm and friendly the two guys were - all the more surprising as they were worrying at the time that the gale force winds were going were going to leave them without a front awning - but there wasn't anything pushy about just a really nice, relaxed way of engaging with us as customers.
We shared a plate of the salt cod fritters to start which are accompanied by a creamy sauce which has hints of lime, ginger and a beautiful chilli kick as well. The fritters were lightly battered and tasty and the sauce (quite possibly and unexpectedly the most beautiful sauce I've ever tasted) sets them off beautifully. Another review has apparently described them as getting a high five from Jesus and whilst - being somewhat Church attendance light on recent years - I'm not sure I can comment on that I can say that quickly polishing off the plate (with assistance I might add) was one of the most pleasurable, tasty and enjoyable food experiences I've had. Living within 2 minutes of Brixton Village that is saying something.
As a drink I had some home made ginger beer which was brilliant. Not too fizzy, lovely taste and with a ginger spice that brought tears to my eyes.
For mains I had the jerk chicken and my girlfriend had the goat. Both were very good and came with a full selection of rice and peas, veg, pineapple chutney and plantain. While the portions are generous it is hard to think about not finishing. The jerk was tasty, on the sweet side and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The goat curry was rich, deep a warmingly spicy in a cosy sort of a way with the meat delightfully tender.
We finished off with the owner quite alarmingly tasty and drinkable - given what we understood about the alcohol content - eggnog and a couple of stories about Trinidad.
We will definitely be going back. We're thinking about buying a bottle of the homemade eggnog for our family's Xmas and we apologise in advance to anyone we meet that you'll have to put up with us rabbiting on about how great Fish, Wings and Tings is for some time to come...
Expect delicious, home cooked Jamaican cuisine and irresistibly cheerful service at Fish, Wings & Tings. Goat curry stew wrapped in roti parcels and the insanely delicious cod-fish fritters (served with a homemade sweet and spicy dipping sauce) all washed down with a can of Ting (naturally) left me yearning for a repeat visit nearly as soon as we left. Definitely the perfect pit-stop whilst browsing Brixton Market.
Slightly on the pricey side for Brixton Village but decent portion nonetheless. Came here for the goat curry which was really tender with kidney bean and pepper rice. A great dish, coming in at £8.50. You can also sit outside here which is a plus point given the rest of the Village inside - this may explain the premium prices. No BYO either.
Best jerk sauce around, brilliantly cooked chicken and goat, the chef is one friendly man indeed, a great place to spend the weekend or evening

The service is quick and efficient, the atmosphere is great and always find a spot with constant people coming and going. Food was good, jerk chicken was good a bit on the sweet side with a hint of spice but the rice was a bit over done and dry. The Roti was tasty and very generous plates. The fried plantains were AMAZING just how I used to have when I was younger!
Nice spot to lunch at Brixton Village Market. We had codfish fritters with ginger and lime aioli. The sauce was so tasty we wanted to take it home, and the fritters were crispy and fresh. Jerk chicken was tender and balanced. They had a selection of local and international beers.
Nice staff, great vibes and music.
Reasonable prices....food is delicious authentic Caribbean cuisine. Fresh Jerk and Roti amazing must try...cocktails are on point. Fritters with lime Aloi is tasty...good sitting tables outside...friendly professional serivce...the head chef is so knowledgable and skillful to watch her cook is a joy. The famous Black Farmer came and ate here too
I'M 100% IN LOVE WITH THIS TRINI JOINT.
It's one of my top 3 signature spots in London.
Whenever I'm in Brix City, best believe I'm swinging by here. Why? Cos the flava is off the charts!
If you're starving and craving some top-notch Trini comfort food – ah wah ya wait fah! I've never had a single disappointing dish here.
The place was heaving as per, but luckily it was a sunny day so we grabbed a spot outside.
Each time I dine here it seems the staff has been "refreshed" lol, but they're all just as friendly as the last.
I wish there was a Fish Wings & Tings closer to home - the food, the sauces, the blend of flavors – BANGING.
I highly recommend the Fritters with the Ginger Sauce for Starters, oh and...
Pro Tip: Don't ever bring a Date here - because if it doesn't work out you WILL bump into them here in future. You're welcome.
After the last London screening of White Nanny Black Child late on Sunday night these fantastic guys stayed open and fed and served us amazing food and drink. They are heroes and we are all extremely grateful.
We stopped by for a quick lunch and a plate of wings.
The sauce and marinated wings were *chef’s kiss* and the only reason that I haven’t given 5 stars is that we only got about 8 wings on our plate. For £9.
I just wanted more!!!
If you’re in London don’t miss out on the opportunity to try some amazing food . I found their location on Google and I was not disappointed. Their codfish fritters is the best dish I’ve had since being in London . Outside of the food the staff is amazing and so welcoming . Visit and try their codfish fritters and their vegetable roti !!!! You won’t regret it I’m telling you.
Great little spot for Caribbean food. The service is always super quick. Would recommend the cod fritters, jerk chicken, and grab a glass of their homemade ginger beer
I had relatives over from Malaysia and they wanted to try some carribbean food. We came across this cosy restaurant. Service was friendly , reasonably priced and the food was delicious, the cod fish fritters where amazing. I might go back and try the chicken wings
Brilliant spot for a Caribbean meal. The food is delicious, everything we had was so good . The staff are all so friendly and welcoming . Food arrived nice and quick, full of flavour. I'd recommend the Jerk chicken, Great portion size and the sauce is amazing. The jerk chicken comes with rice & peas, coleslaw and pineapple mango chutney . You won't leave hungry!
The prawns are also really good .
The restaurant is cozy and intimate but it added to the atmosphere . Lots of tables outside . Perfect for summer. Can't wait to go back .
Completely fantastic. Came in here on a cold day and this warm delicious food made my day. The star of the show is this jerk chicken. The sauce is tangy and perfect and the chicken is fall off the bone fantastic. The combination of the rice, coleslaw and chutney is so flavorful.
Jerk chicken was falling off the bone..
The rum punch was really nice 💥
Delicious food
Good service- even though the place stays buzzing
It is no surprise that this is a popular place so they just might not have seats available, but You can share a table or simply wait.
Amazing place with great food!
Very friendly people, good vibes and man, those cod fritters really are so nice, it's like a high five from Jesus Christ! A must. Can't wait to be back in London to have more 💯
The jerk chicken was incredible, the best I’ve had! I loved the mango chutney on the side, it really elevated the dish. I also had the homemade ginger beer with rum which was fab - the ginger beer wasn’t too sweet, and they were generous with the rum. Service was great, there was lively music in the background and everyone was super friendly & welcoming. I will definitely be back!
My friend and I were out late and wanted something nice to eat. We discovered this place. The 3 gentlemen that were there were very receiving and nice even though it was a bit late.
We both had the falling off the bone jerk chicken, rice and peas, side of fried plantain, gravy and the Ginger rum punch. I can just say that it went down well and we wanted more. Definitely visiting again soon when I’m in London. ❤️
I went to Fish, Wings and Tings to grab some food with my sister . We met Ms. May and she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food she served us was amazing especially the chick peas, and we look forward to visiting again before we end our travels in London. #Brixton #FishWingsangTings
