If it’s look good, then it’s worth a stab. I first came across pintxos back in the madness of Naked for Satan, and it hasn’t appeared at all since then. Pintxos or pinchos are Spanish for “spike” and refer to little bites on sticks. It traditionally forms an appetiser and often accompanied with wine, being bites on bread. Pix offer a pick-three option as part of Mealfix, and I ran down the corner to pick my selections. All the options looked fantastic, and I went with the: searrano ham & quail egg, marinated fig & goat’s cheese and the ham & bechamel croquettes. My favourite was the fried and melty croquette, with oodles of flowing cheese. My own qualm is that you do need quite a few bites to be full and at a normal £2.25-3.25 per bite it doesn’t necessarily come cheap. Perfect for a boozy work afternoon though. It’s like a sushi train but with tapas.

Pintxos are a version of tapas, eaten in Northern Spain and the Basque region and held together by a skewer.  I tried them for the first time in Barcelona.   Numerous plates of bite-sized snacks were placed around the bar area for you to help yourself to, like an upmarket buffet.   Once you had eaten your fill, the number of left-over skewers was totted up and that was how your bill was worked out.

Pix follows the same formula.  You can choose from a mind-boggling array of pintxos, including items like tortilla, croquetas, meatballs, and cheeses.  Each one costs either £2.25 or £3.25 (indicated by the length of the skewer).  It is incredibly easy to stuff your face and I particularly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere created by being able to help yourself to as much or as little as you liked.  The food itself was all delicious and fresh, and I did feel like the proverbial kid in candy store when faced with rows upon rows of yummy food.

Pix also offers a good range of cocktails and wines, including sherries and cavas.   It's a great place for both a cheap bite and a belly-bursting blow out.  I'm looking forward to visiting again and I'm going hungry!

Great little stop off whilst shopping in Oxford street or Carnaby street. Lovely little tapas deals make the perfect mid afternoon snack. Highly recommend the espresso martini !

What a marvelous place! Self service tapas, a good wine and cocktail menu and super lovely accommodating staff! An absolute win in my book and the food was tasty as anything! Must try, and you will return!

It's tiny, dark, with a few references to el Diablo... but it's a decent pintxos bar that's open til late. Definitely a dependable place for a night cap and some post-revelling munchies if you prefer something a bit more sophisticated than fried and battered stuff. Or somewhere to cap off your night if you weren't served enough food for a dinner event. Favourite pintxos include brie, bacon & foie gras, fig & goats cheese, and the diablo meatballs.

Pix is one of my favourite places in London to meet a friend for dinner and drinks. I've eaten at all their locations except for the Convent Garden Branch. I first discovered their Soho restaurant about two years ago, it’s a little place hidden away on Bateman Street. It has a great atmosphere and totally laid back – it would also be a great place for a first date! It’s a warm and welcoming place, cozy but not cramped.

There is a mix of hot and cold tapas all laid out on the bar, there is no menu or ordering involved – you just go up and help yourself to what takes your fancy. As new hot items come out the lovely staff walk past with the offerings. There are two prices – £1.95 or £2.95 which I think is very reasonable. You just collect the skewers as you eat. You can stay for just a quick drink and a snack, or for the long haul and work your way through the offerings.

There is such a great selection of good quality tapas, I definitely recommend the sweet potato tortilla and cod fritters. I normally go for a bottle of Castellblanch Semi Seco and about 7 to 8 dishes between two and it comes to about £25 each with service. They are also rather good at making delicious cocktails. It’s a great evening out and the staff are always fantastic. I never get the feeling we need to leave and can chat to our hearts content.

Brilliant little place!. Tried it on a Friday evening, full of people mid-drinking session - however the crowd was cheerful, and the staff were polite (possibly too polite!) and food was excellent. Perfect little place to start a night out :)

VERDICT – go, but try not to get too sucked in by the amazing display of food. Or indulge and have one of everything – it is all delicious [and everybody deserves a treat].

Overall I would return to PIX as this is a great watering hole, with a good selection of food, some good, some bad and some delicious. I need to remind myself that this is not your authentic Basque restaurant but a modern take. Nothing is wrong with the food here, it could just be improved, some fresher, tastier bread, good quality Chorizo and a larger selection of sherry’s. It’s a great place to eat and drink in Soho and I will be back, with friends.

Visited as part of an organised Tapas Tour and definitely the best of the three restaurants we visited. Had a set menu of four mini tapas and all delicious - the marinated fig and goats cheese on crunchy sourdough was the best dish. Served with Estrella Galicia Cerveza lager - perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. The tables are quite small and the back of the restaurant is too dark for me so try and book a table towards the front.

This restaurant wasn’t entirely what I was expecting but it was a very nice, niche find! It’s essentially a ‘help yourself’ to a variety of authentic Spanish tapas. I found the prices to be quite high for every dish & do think you could get more food for less in other tapas restaurants! With that said, the staff were very cheery and helpful and the vibe was unmatched! The food was obviously very delicately made and presented. Wouldn’t necessarily come here again but I’d definitely recommend just to try at least once!

Lovely restaurant and excellent service from staff. The food is delicious and it’s great to have the small plate concept and order as you go. Very affordable for the quality.

It is a restaurant where you can taste authentic Spanish-style tapas, and the price is reasonable, so you can enjoy it without hesitation. However, the table for two is too narrow and the table spacing is too close to match the corona era, so the back is close enough to touch the back of the person. 5 stars if this is solved

Loved this place. Pinxtos were great (so good I ate too many) and the sangria was really good. Good music and atmosphere, a little gem.

Needed a quick bite to eat after a day in town and this was perfect. Tasty food, great selection and simple, but effective system. Would definitely recommend.

Currently they have set up outside dining which is well protected from the rain with heaters, the staff where helpful and friendly even though they was busy they made time to engage with us. Good choice of tapas reasonably priced menu can be found online. Food was served quickly and was tasty I would recommend the pork belly. Also the sauces that came with some of the dishes are worth a mention especially the quince jam.

A nice Tapas place in Soho. Our table was a little small for a Tapas restaurant, but there were bigger tables. Ladies serving were great, the guys a little absent. Drinks were nice also. We went downstairs to the 'Roomsbythehour' private rooms also, the host David was great, and the theme was fun and naughty, a little too hot, so recommend going in the cooler months. Overall a fun night out.

Friendly staff, very attentive. There is a pintxos bar upon entrance a d also a small menu available with other tapas dishes. They serve a variety of drinks and cocktails to match, interior isn't very comfortable I would say its a drink and nibble bar more than a restaurant. Good location

Great choice of Pintxos, which are ideal if you are either not that hungry or ravenous. Just choose what you want and pay with your sticks at the end. All of the staff were friendly, quirky and attentive. I’ve been a few times and would totally recommend a unique dining experience.
