As far as pubs go in London this one has a distinctive old-world charm. The victorian styled chambers is evocative of an erstwhile era in which men and women dined and drank separately. The interiors are ornate, and their selection of beers is wide, from wheat-based ales to organic fruit beers. Definitely go for the Apricot if you're a fan of the latter.
Like most pubs in London you'll find it difficult to get space past 5:30 PM. The area isn't vast considering there are so many different chambers, so if you're in a large group try get their early or embrace the crowd!
This is a great pub which serves a good variety of drinks priced reasonably. If you visit this place in the winters, you will have a great time if you sit around the open fire. This in itself makes the experience more enticing. One must definitely try their imported beer. It will be unfair to call this place just 'above average'.
To begin with, The restaurant is beautiful. The interiors are artistically done and smartly crafted. So, its a perfect place for exquisite lavish dinners and lunches. They also serve excellent wheat beers. The menu is limited but everything on offer is delicious. The prices are also reasonable. The service is swift.
This bar although in my opinion serves a decent range of beer and the charges for the same are very reasonable. This is a very good bar in general but for a weird experience. I was shocked to find that on my previous visit,my bag was stolen from right under my table! I suggest one takes good care of their belongings.
I have been to a lot of pubs and many of them have not failed in disappointing me. After being recommended by a friend, I and a couple of my mates planned to go to this pub and we really liked being here. The food is really good. This place is quite a chiller in its own way and very happening. They have an amazing collection of beers and I personally loved their selection. I am visiting this place very soon. Recommended.
We had been returning to our hotel when we happened to spot this pub. We decided to step in and we are really happy that we did. The interiors are beautifully decorated and I would recommend it to all the people who stay nearby. The drinks were delicious and the staff very helpful as well.
Ever since I had first visited Princess, I have been a regular at this place. There is something about this place that is very attractive and catchy. The decor is exquisite and the ambiance is very energetic. The food served is hot and fresh. The whole concept they go by is fantastic. The staff members are well coordinated and very cooperative. Strongly recommended.
In my opinion, this place has one of the most amazing and gorgeous interiors ever! The decor is very very beautiful and attractive. I had a really good time here and have only good things to say about it. The service here is excellent and deserves appreciation for its efficiency given the tactful and smooth dealing of the buzzing crowd here.

I had a chance to go to this pub recently with a few praised after it being recommended by them. The interiors of the pub were very delightful and gave you a very authentic feel, one that you would like to be in after work. The ambiance is quite lively and the place is buzzing with people. The drinks were delicious and the staff quite friendly. I will be returning here for more.
The pub is very popular in the neighborhood and not wrongly so. The interiors are funky and the atmosphere is lively. the music is up beat and compliments the whole feel of the pub. I recommend the restaurant particularly for the drinks as they are simply splendid. The staff is attentive too.

This is a really nice and lovely place. It was renovated a couple of years ago to a new glory. They have improved their standards highly, and yet the original flavour is well-maintained. They have a limited choice of the non-standardized alcoholic drinks, and I visit this place regularly and plan on repeating it.
We happened to visit this place during our trip to London last month, and we were certainly not disappointed. The interiors of the place are very well done and features a gorgeous pristine tiling with mosaic floor and etched glass. This place has take a massive restoration job and has turned out to be magnificent.
This might be my most favorite pub in the city. I absolutely love the interiors as it has a little antique feel to it! The decor has those glass partitions of the ancient times which are one of a kind and reminiscent of the golden days. The seating too is quite comfortable. This place is your no nonsense pub which gets really energetic during the night time.Definitely check this place out!
In my opinion, this is easily one of the best pubs in the city. It has a really authentic English touch and quality, and the atmosphere is really nice and lively. The drinks are decent, and the private rooms are very strategically made. This is one pub that everyone should visit at least once.
We came here last Sunday for a few hours. We were immediately impressed on our entry with the incredible decor which gave you the impression that you were in a victorian era pub. The drinks menu was varied and offered a great selection. The drinks were delicious. We will definitely be returning here for another round.
This is one pub I never fail to visit whenever I am in the city. It is a really nice pub from the Victorian era, and it has been very well-maintained. This place is run by a very well-known chain of breweries, and the beer here is thus very cheap as compared to other places.
One different thing about this pub is that they do not serve traditional beers and spirits, and their menu displays a huge array of exciting cocktails as well as spirits. This place is worth a visit if you're looking to have a different kind of experience. Also, the ambiance is pretty well done and has a unique layout.
This is a pretty old place and the decor inside was recently refurnished to its old charm! This place is my opinion is your typical English pub and i can not find a fault with this place at all.The prices are reasonable and the ambiance is to be definitely experienced. I say one must drop in for sure , it is well worth it!
The pub has been redone and is a gorgeous place now. Anyone who has visited in the past will find that the experience is considerably better now. The new managers are competent and try very hard to please their customers. The food was also good. The staff is decent and attentive.
A great pub with real charm, the layout is a refreshing change from more mainstream pubs. On the ground floor, the bar is surrounded by booths, meaning a pint is never to far away.
The upstairs has more of a lounge style setup; with portraiture, comfy chairs and classic wooden panels. It really provides a homely feel and there is definitely a sense of community within.
In terms of beer, there is plenty on tap for a good price, and if you are a Samuel Smith fan, then you won't be disappointed. The only issue is that, as with all national treasures, the people will come in droves, and the Princess Louise is often packed, making it difficult to secure the elusive booth.
Despite selfishly wanting to stop the growing popularity of the pub, I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Great pub. The prices of the drinks (cheap for London standards) don't at all indicate either the quality of the beers or how nice it is in the place. Ground floor, it's your usual pub fare done well. Upstairs however - a lovely lounge that, without the smoking ban, would I imagine be full of folk in pinstripe puffing on cigars (it's that kinda vibe anyways!). Always go back.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Fish and chips and steak and ale pie were amazing. One of our favourite meals while visiting London.
The best traditional untouched real pub in London. Great range of tasty beers and lagers. The interior layout and Victorian decor is amazing. If you love pubs go here.
Ambience, gorgeous historic space, very capable and helpful staff, tasty meals and treats, ample beverage variety...what's not to love?!

What makes this pub unique is their Victorian decor, absolutely beautiful. It has 2 stories, we sat on the ground floor for drinks (the booth was intimate) then dined upstairs in the dining area. We opted for a few pub classics to share, such as steak and ale (Tender prime slow cooked beef steak, shallots, and gravy. So good.) Whitby scampi, and finished with Sticky toffee pudding (yum). Everything was good and beyond my expectations.
It is certainly a good spot to come after visiting the British museum in London. It's only a 5 min walk from the museum, also very close to the metro/tube too. You can't miss the spot. Worth visiting!
I was there this Wednesday evening and Thursday lunch. Fantastic pub with largely unspoiled Victorian decor and good bitter (Old Brewery). Brilliant atmosphere in the evening. Quieter at lunchtime but upstairs restaurant was rammed. Good pub food. Kitchen was very busy but staff helped us out enormously and hurried order along so we could catch trains.
Such a family friendly pub!
Staff were very helpful in accommodating our ten month old - happily letting us drink and my wife breastfeed in the privacy of the snug, letting us know when lunch was being served upstairs, helping carry the pram up the stairs and genuinely being very cordial and kindly

Magnificently restored Victorian interior and fine San Smith's ales.
Hungry and tired after visiting the British Museum, we stumbled on the GEM! So comfortable, excellent beer (the Organic Wheat was so good!) And the sandwiches were great (again, my brie and pear chutney sandwich was amazing!) . I was inspired to try to find another Samuel Smith pub to visit closer to our hotel, but the website doesnt list them. Suffice to say, this was an all around great experience!
Lovely “public house”! We made our way here because it is one of the best preserved 19th Century Victorian interiors, when gin houses had wooden partitions and etched glass to enhance their patron’s privacy. Grab a “booth at the bar” and you’ll be surprised at the feeling of privacy! All drinks are self-brewed or -distilled by Samuel Smith’s, a unique experience for many Americans. Good drinks and wonderful staff. Stop in and enjoy the atmosphere.
