Visited in 2013 !
I went to Paris for the first time, as a student to learn French cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu, and it was during this trip that I, like many other visitors there, experienced the Great Awakening - the moment at the table that changes entirely one's relationship to food. In low moments, nothing lifts my mood like the thought of Paris - the thought of eating in Paris.
When I went back to India, I used to find French cafes and have their watered down coffees and factory made breads, but I used to imagine that I am having the same in Paris, and that thought filled me with contentment. Though I was aware that I am not in Paris !
And then here I was in London, re discovering mon amour pour Paris.
I happened to go with a friend to this restaurant because of admiration for Marco Pierre White.
Upon being seated we ordered a bottle of Pomerol Chateau L'Eglise Clinet (£185). The wine had a really deep colour and with the first sip I could taste oak, truffle, plums, smoke and charcoal ! And after it remains in your mouth for a good 60 seconds I could taste some spice, which I think was five spice, but I aint sure of that.
So for my starters I ordered Goats cheese parcel, poached pear and walnut salad (£9.50) and also Pea soup with fresh truffle (£8.95). The goats cheese was just simply amazing and the pear was poached just right and I didn't have to struggle with my knife to cut it. All in all the whole combination just worked beautifully. The pea soup I think got overpowered by the truffle, but it wasn't that bad !
For my mains I ordered Roasted vegetable & feta cheese parcel, new potatoes, haricot verts, beurre blanc (£15.95). Yeah I know it was again some parcel but the other options for vegetarian mains were gnocchi(yes, again) and tagliatelle ! But I wasn't disappointed with my dish anyway. The vegetables screamed FRESH !!
So on to the dessert and one look at the options I was disappointed again. If you read my blogs you will know, how I have always said that all the great chefs make amazing food but 99 % of the time fail to deliver a good dessert. I don't know why, but that's how my experience has been so far. Oh well, maybe I will find that perfect place where I will get my perfect dessert. Anyway for desserts I had Panna cotta with lavender, rhubarb compote (£7.50).
All in all I would say Marco Pierre White has done a good job and his chefs are keeping up with the reputation of serving some good food. Though its understandable as to why it doesn't have any Michelin stars (Marco Pierre White has a open hatred for the guide and its people, and somewhere even I agree with his view that the guide has become biased in giving out stars).
This is such a pleasant change from the usual cozy little London restaurants one is used to. Set in a quaint, medieval type setting, full of light and space, I went with an office group and loved it. The food was fresh and subtly flavoured and the service was perfect. The only thing that jarred a bit were some of the interiors which seemed a bit tacky in comparison to the rest.
You feel like visiting a restaurant in the woods while London is around you. Great location and a beautiful classic restaurant a bit dated although but still giving the good atmosphere. Happily tables are not close to each other. We had a lovely diner well balanced and provided by the right wines. Staff was very friendly.
The starter (foie gras pate) was delicious but only one slice of toast (you needed two), and the mains were of the very highest standard; the roast chicken was actually about half a chicken, and the suckling pig was also very generous. The puddings let them down.
We would certainly go again and there is the bonus of easy parking in the park.
Belvedere is one of those places where you can walk past and be confused as to what this building is doing in the middle of a park. Honestly, there's no other place for it. The dishes complement their surroundings. Very garden like, including the plating. The venison is tender, and perfectly cooked - wonderfully accompanied by garden vegetables, it's almost as though it inspires you to go back and recreate the dish. Then you come to your senses and enjoy the meal once again. It's not as pricey as you would expect but don't think about going every sunday for lunch. All in all, three courses are worth the expenditure. Do a sample of desserts if you're going in a group - you're going to want everything.
We can't thank Valentina and the whole team at The Belvedere enough.
We held our wedding reception here and it was absolute perfection from start to finish. Firstly, the venue is so incredible and the only place like this in London. The interiors are stunning and the venue is situated in the beautiful Holland Park.
The service, food and drink was excellent with lots of guests commenting that it's the best they've ever had at a wedding. All of the staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful and attentive throughout the event.
It was an absolute joy to hold our wedding reception at The Belvedere and this venue will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
Thank you so much again.

Food is always great. Top notch ingredients is a big guarantee of quality. Love their cocktail bar, there are so many things i want to try. Service this time was a little off. Can tell the server was kind of inexperienced. But when he knew I'm a regular customer, he's more attentive.
Beautiful atmosphere and good food! Fit for dates, friends/family and business dinners.
Very friendly staff serving quality food.
The restaurant is beautiful an Oasis in the middle of Holland park. The service was impeccable. The ingredients used to prepare the food were of the highest quality. The veal was probably the best I've tasted. I took one star off because we were offered Bolognese as a special........I'm finding it hard to write the word bolognese and special in the same sentence!
Thank-you for a wonderful night.
Stumbled upon Belvedere walking in Holland Park and decided to check it out. What a beautiful place! As it turns out the restaurant’s been there for a while, but changed owners recently and has undergone full transformation. The dining rooms are absolutely stunning, an homage to the venue’s history, beautifully lit and full of greenery which creates an organic bond between the outside and inside. I’m interior design aficionado myself, visiting unique venues all over the world and I’m usually quite picky. Here I could not fault a single thing atmosphere-wise. The food looks a bit simple, but ingredients are top notch and the flavours were on point. Highly recommend!
Wow ! What a transformation. I have always loved this restaurant, but sadly it was unloved and rather run down. This refurbishment has brought it back to life in spectacular form. The decor is lovely, very warm and cozy, but I can see how it will work in the Summer too. The staff are super friendly and very efficient. We were served by Alejandro and Joseph, both of whom were very professional and full of smiles. The music was lovely and at just the right level, not too loud but loud enough. The food was delicious and well priced. The Russian sommelier was really very well informed and help us choose a great bottle, again reasonably priced. I highly recommend Belvedere it's simply wonderful. It's (small) dog friendly too !!!

I went for a pre-opera meal, much changed since before the pandemic although the same name. Amazing service and food, would definitely recommend for those whose budget allows.
Spectacular food, interior design, atmosphere and service ! The staff was to remember, Hugo the Maitre D' with the best energy and style, Dani our most attentive waiter, Tamara and all the chefs that took the food to a whole different level ! Thank you for an amazing experience.
This is the exact definition of the phrase “You can’t have everything in life”
I mean, Holland Park is fascinating, the restaurant is outstanding inside and outside, beautiful interiors, furniture, lighting, views, every details is appealing. The staff is so charming. But, unfortunately it is so overpriced for such ordinary food. I read it was expensive, but I thought I’ll discover new flavors. I was wrong, the food is ok, but definitely not worth the price. What you pay is the place, the attention and the views.
I surely recommend to go and have a lovely date there. If so, I can say that the wild sea bass ceviche and the tortello with lemon and ricotta are good.
On a sunny day take cocktails on the terrace overlooking the gardens.
Like stepping into an Italian Tuscan Villa in London.
