AMAZING FRESH FOOD!!!!!!! We visited this restaurant during the halftime of harry potter. The food came quickly and was super fresh. You can watch the food being hand made at the entrance of the restaurant. Everything tasted amazing! You are given your own ordering menu which allows you to have more time to think about what you want without feeling pressured to rush. The employees aren't over the top friendly, however they clear your empty dishes super fast and take orders even faster. I will 100% be back and would recommend everyone to visit as well.

First of all, wow. These dumplings were some of the best i’ve ever had. Before you’re even in the restaurants, you can see the chefs making the dumplings trough the window! That’s how you know they’re fresh. You get a paper list where you just check of what you want, and the food comes very fast. I recommend the xiao long bao (soup dumplings), but be careful, you might want more after the first ones !!

This place was amazing. There is seating up and downstairs. We were in queue in a line that wound around the front of the restraunt. There is a large menu to view the price, and you can watch the people making the dumplings out of scratch at the front. The soup dumplings were amazing! It comes with eight in an order for 8 pounds! The other restaurants were selling 4 for 13 pounds. It was very comfortable inside as well (there's air con). I absolutely loved this place!

Really good food - hand made infront of you. Excellent flavours. We had the prawn toast, dumplings, crispy duck pancakes and tea. Price and quality were very good. Only feedback: it would be cool if there was one set menu only made of dumplings. Would eat here again.

Glad we waited before entering. The crispy duck was spot on. 👌 All dishes tasted fresh and you can taste the ingredients. Loved the experience. Usually a queue, but that's for a good reason. My good place for Chinese food.

We've had a great experience, enjoying delicious dumplings, soup, and sweet and sour chicken ! The portions are surprisingly generous :) No queue to get in at around 8:30pm. Looking for Chinese food ? Look no further ! 🥟🍚

Very casual set up. Service is ok... not that great but the food is amazing and to die for. Whenever I'm in Central London I look for an excuse to eat here. Surprisingly there's a crispy aubergine dish which is my favourite.

A nice little restaurant in the busy China town. We queued for 15 minutes for the table on a Saturday. We bought two beers from the shop next door while we waited and they did not mind us brining them in with us. The food was nice - a similar quality to others in this area.

A great find in Chinatown. We didn't have a wait as we came right after a Wednesday matinee show (just before 5:00pm) and got there in time before the dinner rush. There was a long line outside as we left. We were seated downstairs and ordered a number of items in the menu to share with a group of 5 people. Good serving sizes and decent prices.

The dumings were lovely the fiery chicken was amazing! The service is always quick and efficient. We've ordered a lot and the only thing that was meh was the soup dumplings as the broth was very watery? The xiao long bao was fantastic 👌 I always come here for dumplings in general! The food is also affordable🙃 must visit

3.75 star. It was fine. No queue and got a table downstairs straight away (vs. bun house next door which seems to always have a wait time) You mark the quantity of what you want on the menu paper. Food came out nice and quick. Everything was fine. Dumplings a little thicker than my preference but that's just me. I read others say the opposite so they sound handmade. Szechuan prawns and Salt & pepper squid ok. Nothing amazing but by no means bad. Seating is a little tight. £56 for 2 of us with Chinese tea.

Will definitely be returning to Beijing Dumplings! After a very short wait, we were seated downstairs and ordered a number of items in the menu to share; everything was incredible! The serving sizes are large and the price was more than fair. If you’re around Chinatown, I would definitely recommend a visit.

Although there was a slight waiting time to get in the restaurant it was worth it and it was nice to see the dumplings being handmade through the window. We were sat downstairs where there was a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We got the xiao long bao which were delicious, however the broth could have been slightly more flavorful. For the main I definitely recommend the ribs as they are some of the best I’ve had. We also had duck, sweet and sour beef and lemon chicken which were good although the sweet and sour beef was slightly underwhelming. Really recommend this place as it also came at an affordable price.

I have been here 4 times. If there is a trophy I can give to the restaurant that I have most visited, then Beijing Dumpling is the place. I have recommended this spot to almost anyone who are in London and love Dumplings and Chinese food. Their speciality is always going to be the Xiao long bao i.e. the soup filled dumplings. I prefer the beef and pork with crabmeat versions. Their special fried rice is one of the best I ever had. Noodles are good too. The main dishes are comparable to other good Chinese restaurants. Their set menu is also well priced and utterly satisfying. I always changed up our order everytime I had visited but I have always consistently ordered the soup filled dumplings.

For London Chinatown standards it's on par with everyone else. Decent flavours, smaller portions than I expected, good service, tight seating. But good restaurant choice for tourists of Chinatown. Also an open kitchen window viewing of the dumplings in the making. Dumpling skins could be thinner and with more broth inside. The spicy beef could use more numbing spices. Overall good.

Giving this place one star is completely because that's the only option. This is a solid negative star establishment. The food is at best pseudo Chinese, with so-called Xiao Long Bao dry as a thousand year old scallop, and dumplings with wrappers as thick as the Great Wall. And the service, lazy waiters and aggressive attitude. Last but not least, not sure what language they understand. Ordered a bowl of white rice, in both Chinese and English, waited for 10 minutes and the waiter brought a bottle of white wine. What more is there to say.

China town is full of asian restaurants but Beijing Dumpling most definitely stands out.

Sprawled across two floors with tightly spaced tables, the restaurant is almost always full. The menu is quintessential Chinese offering a range of appetizers, dimsums, rice dishes and other chinese mains.
Prices are reasonable and food portion is good. Service is most definitely not their forte!

Coming down to the taste test,
Excellent xio long bao, soupy and meaty, superbly balanced and oh so addictively yum.
Salt and Pepper Tofu was surprisingly yummy paired with spke vegetable noodles, it was a pretty perfect vegetarian meal
Garlic Prawns and mixed seafood Fried Rice were well made too

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. Quaint place in Chinatown London. Typical Chinese interiors with red oriental lamps and flat wood tables with benches and stools. Ample options in appetizers, soups, and mains to choose from. Ordered chicken pan fried dumplings , fried noodles with chicken, pan fried noodles with chk and veggies and sweet and sour chicken. Everything was very good and satiating but the standout dish was pan fried noodles with chk and veg. Great value for the money with Good food, pretty quick service and good portion size. On weekends there might be a queue.

This restaurant is famous for their xiao long bao. They serve pork and chicken dumplings and some other choices I can't recall. First, the skin is not as thin as Din Tai Fung... but it's considered OK since we're talking about chinese food in a western country. I have no idea why pork in London tastes different. It has this really bad smell and so the pork dumplings that they serve has that "smell" too (this has nothing to do with the skills of preparing the xiao long bao...). The soup in the pork dumpling is too thick. The chicken one tastes normal. A bit too dry, as we already know xiao long bao should have a small spoonful of soup in it. The chicken one don't really have much in it actually, not even half teaspoon. Overall I would say that it is average. I wouldn't rate this as one of the "best" in London, but definitely not below average. It's average. But I wouldn't go for it unless I really miss chinese food.

I enjoyed the meal, the sweet-sour sauce was really tasty and the dumplings were not bad either even thought flavours were too similar for different dishes, so nothing was really special and it’s not that cheap, so I rated it mainly for the price quality relation... the service was pretty bad...

I have been feeling extremely under the weather lately. Something to do with a cold mating with asthma and turning me into one gigantic not-so-hot-mess. Alas, even I get bored of having congee, chicken soup and poached chicken, so I asked Grant to accompany me to fulfill some dumpling cravings.

I went to Beijing Dumpling on a Saturday at 6:30 to get a quick each meal by myself now I'm in London alone.

Having been craving dumplings and telling everyone at work that I hadn't had any good ones here yet, a few people put me on to here. And I'm glad they did.

There was a line up to get in but I was seated within 15 minutes. No big deal.

I ordered 8 of the pork xiao long bao, 6 pork fried dumplings and the egg fried rice. All the food was to me within 10 minutes.

Egg fried rice was a nice sized bowl for the 3.50 quid. Enough of everything and with some soy splashed across it I'd recommend it as a very cheap and easy side.

The fried pork dumplings were great. Very big and battered well. They were cooked just how I like them and were deliciously oily.

The xiao long bao was also very good though on the small side. The issue I found was they weren't full of the oily soup, there was some there but not that rush soaking out which I'm after with dumplings.

All in all I would go again as it's the best in London I've found.

We always order all the steamed dumplings and have never been disappointed. Absolutely great!

The staff might seem a bit rude sometimes, but its usually just because they are in a real hurry, but this place is always busy and you still won´t have to wait long for your orders to arrive - so I´m never bothered by it!

You never have to wait long, even with a queue in front of the restaurant!

We also tried the whole duck, which is delicious, crispy, and just perfect!

Beijing Dumplings in Chinatown London is a place where you can find small gems of Xiao Lung Bao that is heart warming and really dose hit the spot if your craving for some comforting gourmet food. Upon ordering a few of our favourite Xiao Lung Bao’s (小籠包), we requested for a plate of ginger thats been julienned, you need to request this as it dose not come standard. We then mixed the vinegar and soya sauce to the ginger, I prefer more of a tangy flavour so I add 3 part vinegar and 1 part soya sauce.

Dipped into the vinegar and soya sauce mix give the dumpling that extra depth of flavour. The meant is juicy, well seasoned and it’s just a pleasure to eat.

Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao (£5.80)
The soup that leaked out had a reddish colour, which I assume come from the chillies. Paired with the sauce which just cuts through the richness of the filling is a matched made in heaven

Supreme Dumpling (£3.20 each)
Because of it’s size, the filling inside it actually chunkier, which gives it a different texture with a bit of a bite. Slices of pork and chunks of prawn with shiitake mushroom gives the dumpling great flavour and texture. There we tones of hot soup inside this dumpling so be caution when bitting into it.

Again we love it so much and it's almost a must to visit whenever we are in Chinatown. Love this place & only wish I'd discovered it earlier & had more time in London to go eat there again! Honey Garlic Ribs- can you say Yuuuuuuum!!! Steamed dumplings that burst with savory soup when eating, paired with Chinese vinegar & THE most wonderful chili paste ever- A-MA-ZING!!! Lively but not loud atmosphere, clean and nice helpful waiters/servers. Fun to watch the ladies rolling out the pastry that's light, fresh and flavorful, making the dumplings in the window and the hand-pulled noodles. Can't wait to come back!

Sitting area is not so comfy, ambience is ok but, service is quick and good. If you land up here of course you get to taste super slurpy and delicious dishes and definitely you will enjoy your time here.

Eating out as disastrously regularly as I do, I am often accused of asking "higher standards" of restaurants than your average punter. Usually when I am accused of this, it just means that the person making the accusation has a different view of a restaurant than my own, so perhaps "average punter" is shorthand for "me". Anyway, that aside, I still don't think the charge sticks - yes I eat out far more than is healthy or necessary, but that doesn't mean my objective standards are higher, it just means that I have a slightly more comprehensive overview of what constitutes value in a meal out. They may be queueing down Shaftesbury Avenue in depressing numbers to pay £18 for commodity steak frites at Jamies Diner, but how many would be there if they know Zedel Brasserie were doing much better just around the corner for £9? Actually, don't answer that, I don't want to know. The point is, it is possible to enjoy a vast range of standards in food and service as long as you feel like you're getting your money's worth, and you aren't aware of anywhere doing the same thing either better for the same price, or the same for cheaper. To this end, it's possible I enjoyed my lunch at Beijing Dumpling far more than the friend I ate it with because what I know about the restaurants and food of Chinatown would make a very small slogan inside a fortune cookie, and my friend (Lizzie Mabbott) has written a book on the subject . So on this occasion (in common with most others), I was playing "average punter" to Lizzie's expert, and happy for once to put aside all thoughts of whether better was available elsewhere for less, I actually really rather enjoyed myself. As the name suggests, dumplings are the thing here, made fresh and by hand in the window of the premises, and available in a variety of styles. First up were the mythical Xiao Long Bao, rarely seen outside the best Chinese restaurants because, not to put too fine a point on it, they're an absolute bastard to make. Each lovingly

One of the better Chinese places in Chinatown, the dumplings here are by far the best I've tried in London before. There's light pastry with a savoury morsel of a filling so when you bite into it, there's a little burst of fluid that comes out.

What's frustrating is that at 4pm on a Saturday they appear to have sold out of all the really fabulous sounding dumplings which I suspect may be tactically saved for the dinnertime crowd.

The rice isn't the best and the soft shell crab a little over battered, so my advise is to stick to the dumplings!

Lovely spot with freshly made Xiao Long Bao, huge portions and delicious food. The spicy food is more flavourful than covered (and wasted) by the chilli heat and the menu offer a wide range of different treats ready to fill you up to the brim. The staff is attentive but not always friendly, even if it is understandable considering how busy they are. The place itself is cozy, simple and warm. I'm planning on working my way down to the last entry in the menu, will take a while, but it's worth it.

We're mid-way through a night out, and hunger has hit. Suddenly our route has changed, and we're drawn into Lisle Street - the one road neutral zone that sits between Leicester Square and Chinatown. We're led into Beijing Dumpling, all dark and busy with Saturday night crowds who know what they're doing.

The next hour is a constant treat of dim sum, beer and free-flowing conversation. The dumplings are particular delights, but everything, down to the crispy duck pancakes is delivered with care. On a return visit, we find ourselves making fast friends of the two business men sitting beside us. They claim to come here four or five nights a week, and from the way their waitress interracts with them, I wouldn't doubt it. And from the warmth of the staff and the quality of the food, I wouldn't blame them either.

Since I went to Beijing Dumpling for the first time I always come back when it is possible: dumplings here are outstanding! The vegetarian dumplings are very appreciated even by non-vegetarians.

The restaurant does not offer only dumplings and whatever your option is you are very likely to enjoy it! Dishes are really well prepared! And the portions are considerably big! The noodles are very good as well.

The restaurant decoration is simple, but very cozy! I think I’ve been to Beijing Dumpling more times than I have to any other restaurant in London! And that’s saying a lot, given I’m one of those people who firmly believes that life’s too short in proportion to the amount of good food there is to try in this world, to go to the same place twice. But I adore Beijing Dumpling, so there you’ll find me, every few months. Besides, I really like the vibe in Chinatown – always so festive. Beijing Dumpling is on Lisle Street, right next to Leicester Square tube station. There’s a large glass window that looks onto their dumpling kitchen – a nice touch I think – and it’s on two floors, all warm and cozy with wooden tables and benches and low lanterns, and it’s always packed. But surprisingly we’ve never had to wait for a table.

For around £20 you can have all you can eat hot pot, which includes slices of beef, pork, lamb, tofu, various pieces of seafood and vegetables. You also get to pick two soup bases to cook your food in. What we didn't know at the time was that they bring a massive plate of food to your table, I thought we would have ordered what we wanted first. Also the clause when ordering the all you can eat hot pot is that any food which is wasted, is then boxed and you're charged £8.50 per box. So we didn't enjoy our meal as much as we would have liked

Beijing Dumpling is a Chinese restaurant on Silk Street in Chinatown – it specialises in siu long bao which are dumplings with soup inside them, so that when you bite into the dumpling hot rich soup bursts out. All the dumplings are either boiled or steamed – there are no fried monstrosities here. The restaurant is fronted by a large window in which little Chinese ladies make the dumplings by hand for the amusement of passers-by. The interior is decked out like a sauna (a reference to steamed dumplings?!) with wood strips on all sides and wooden furnishings – it is pretty homely though, and a lot more congenial that the typical garishly furnished Chinatown restaurant.
Almost forgot to take a picture!
Unfortunately, I have to report that the food was a bit of a let down. I was actually pretty happy with my two dishes, but my dining partners fared less well. I had come for the dumplings and so dumplings I had. You can have soupy dumplings, or soupy dumplings in soup. I chose spicy pork dumplings without soup, and then a side of salt and pepper chicken. You get about 10 dumplings in a serving so this seemed more than enough food. They come in a steamed basket and at first I was disappointed. They were tiny and didn’t seem to have any soup in them! But they did, just not all that much, so in a few of them, the juice seemed to have evaporated. But in others there was enough for me to do the ritual of making a small hole, pouring out the soup into my spoon to enjoy, and then eating the rest dipped into the vinegar provided. And they were yummy. My other gripe with them is that Stephen got the regular pork dumplings, and there wasn’t much difference in

We have been to this restaurant before and it was good, so we went again to try the dumplings. The dumplings we were after here for was Shanghai steamed soup dumplings (aka siu long bao/Xiaolongbao). These are dumplings that have soup in the middle in addition to a meat filling. It is a pretty great food invention. It was a busy night and we had to queue in line for 20 minutes. The staff there were pleasant and not so rude, they wanted to turn their tables as much as we wanted to eat their food, we were all on the same page here. We ordered the dumplings. Out of a score of 10, I would give them a 6 or 7. They were yummy and the filling was nice with enough soup inside however the “skin” or wrapping of the dumpling was slightly on the thicker side. All in all, it was a good experience and would continue to go back here in the future for a quick snack after shopping in the West End of London.

Went to Beijing Dumplings the other day and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It is another one that has made it onto my regulars list when I'm in the mood for dumplings. When i say dumplings, i mean siu long bao i.e. when you put a whole one into your mouth and bite down, an explosion of soupy goodness fills your mouth. Best to wait a few minutes after they serve before eating to avoid a scalded tongue. The place is on Lisle street in Chinatown and you can watch the chef's make the dumplings from the street for that extra touch of authenticity. I usually go for a few servings of dumplings, either spicy pork or chicken. The fried noodles is very nice and i also like their hot and sour soup. If there is a few of us, we usually order some chinese veges and another dish like szechuan beef to compliment. Service is generally pretty good and speedy and i have only had to wait for a table once on a busy saturday night.

HNewell. My friend was taking me to Young Cheng & we walked pass Beijing Dumpling & somehow I stopped & looked at the menu & liked it so we walked in with good feel. It didn't disappoint us as we had a really yummy meal of 5 dishes & a bowl of plain rice in absolutely generous portion came under £42 included service charge for 3 of us to share the bill. The atmosphere was lovely, comfortable & mallow & I liked the wall hooks above each table for hanging up our winter coats & scarfs - very clever & considerate indeed! U can enjoy ur meal with out your winter gears clustering around u! Service was good especially with the lady waitresses, very very nice indeed! (I'm a woman btw lol)I like their "eating code of conduct" on their menu which is no wasting food... When I wanted to order 2 bowls of plain rice, the waitress gently & honestly suggested 1 bowl instead according to the amount of (5) dishes on our table & she was right, we were so full bfr we finished all the food! Queue had been waiting for table throughout! I will definitely go back & bring friends & families!!!

As the restaurant was named Beijing Dumpling, we were pleased to see the menu offered a handful of different types of dumpling. We were greeted by the maitre'd and seated by a waitress who handed us the menu. Having deliberated on the drinks, the waitress informed me that the section of

Just opposite St John Hotel is this recently opened Beijing Dumpling. Though the flashy trick of having dumpling chefs do the work at the front window might have worn off - Jen's Cafe started this and followed by Dumpling's Legend - I, to my surprise, found the offerings at Beijing Dumpling quite alright, though I should mention that not many dishes on the menu belong to the Beijing tradition. The Spicy Pork Siew Long Bao I ordered was deliciously priced at about £6 and appetising enough. There was a mild heat in this soupy filling, though not

It was one of the ugliest dumplings I have ever seen served in a restaurant. The skin was not smooth but rough. Unlike the amazing dumplings at Din Tai Fung, I could not taste any crab meat inside.

What a find!. Craving: Dumplings
The Mission: to find a restaurant for dinner
Conclusion: was not so simple, but rewarding

This review expands over two visits. What seems to be common knowledge, but yet always disappointing is that most restaurants only serve dumplings for lunch. So even though we set out to find dumplings for dinner, the craving quickly evolved to a Hot Pot. On a cold 'school night' evening, we found ourselves in Chinatown, but as always met with too many restaurant choices. What to do - ask the "locals" (being a super helpful pastry chef in front of one of the restaurants on Gerrard st). We were sent on a mission having been given directions in Chinese (yes it gave a real feeling of Chinatown). Granted, we did not find the place as we cannot read Chinese, but we stumbled upon Beijing Dumpling! This place enticed us immediately by the chef in the front window making fresh dumplings! Showing the waiter our note in Chinese, he informed us, that yes indeed they have Hot Pots. Brilliant! £20p.p all you can eat Hot Pot (meaning you can order as much raw ingredients as you want, provided you are able to eat most of it, as they would charge extra if you abuse the system). As we walked in, the first impression of the place gave an intimate cosy feeling through dimmed lights and wooden tables. The staff were very helpful, and were more than happy to explain the hot pot ordering and cooking system by suggesting the broth, the ingredients, and keeping an eye out to make sure we don't eat the soup too early and that our flame never went out. They were very friendly and attentive, the water glasses were always full. Of course, after the first experience, we had to come back for the second time the following week. The second experience was not disappointing. This time we were seated downstairs, which is just as intimate. As our Hot Pot was brought to our table with the massive plate of food, we didn't realize that it was not the broth that was ordered as we threw in half the food into it! As this broth was too spicy for us, we had to apologise and mention that in fact this was not our order. There was no questions asked!! They took away the Pot, and brought out a whole new one in no time at all, including a full new plate of food. I have to say, I was impressed with the service! The food was fresh and tasted amazing! We even went for more prawns and squid. Our waiter remembered us from the week before, which was a nice touch also. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place, and will be going back for sure, it was great value for money and an enjoyable experience! The dumplings will be a must for next time.
