We went here for a date night as we thought the ambience was like a candlelight dinner.
Walked to the door, and it was locked but then opened for us.. to find a couple dining.
The lights were quite bright especially where we were sitting and no candles, so decided to sit outside which was nice. If you do this and it's quiet, do be aware you'll have to get out of your seat and shout to the back to ask for anything.
There isn't a drinks menu, so be sure of what you fancy to drink
If you order lemonade, understand you will receive orange sparkling water, italian lemonade, I was told?
Being a homely Italian restaurant and being established for so long was a little disappointed when I asked for balsamic vinegar. A squeeze bottle of waitress glaze was presented
Both members of staff were friendly and smiley.
Pizzas were lovely, and the square one was definitely worth it. The other was nice

Super cute eatery. Great service. Authentic Italian food. Highly recommend the carbonara and the meatballs.

Quirky and cosy place to eat, the portions are absolutely massive , quality and taste is just over average but cost is also very reasonable, so more pluses than minuses. The place is also quite small but extremely busy and they had one server who was brilliant, running everywhere and I felt it was an impossible task to satisfy 40 or so people in a restaurant. But she did a terrific job of it with a big smile on her face , so 4 stars instead of 3 for the service

Extremely authentic restaurant that seats only a few tables for an intimate experience.
Menu written in pen on some laminated sheets that I assume are update frequently and specials in chalk on the board.
Food was nice though the shank maybe would have paired nicely with a sauce of some kind.
Deserts seem a hidden gem that nobody else ordered or perhaps nobody knows exist? The Profiteroles and tiramasu were fantastic.
at time it's a bit disorganised, somebody reserved a table that had been given away and the music choice is questionable.
Booking definitely required and deservedly so.
Very child friendly, my 3 year old walked out with a big packet of Italian cookies.
Will go again.

Very nice, authentic, local Italian restaurant. No fuss. Nice food. Don’t force the flavours with salt or sugar. I tried the Pescatore pasta which are usually only served in proper italian restaurant and I was not disappointed! Nice team. Don’t force anything. Let you take your time and enjoy the evening. Nice atmosphere. Honestly a great discovery. We will be back. Thanks again.

Two Aussie sisters visiting London, we dined often at Villa Toscana and enjoyed eating our way through the menu. Friendly family atmosphere, courteous and pleasant family service. A lovely eating experience.

Amazing food and wonderful owner. This place charms you with the quirky, candle-lit atmosphere while serving authentic and massive portions of Italian delights. Do yourself a favor and have dinner here.

My husband and I had a lovely evening at Villa Toscana. A little gem of a restaurant around the corner from Hotel 55. It has authentic Italian dishes at a very reasonable price served by friendly staff. My seafood tagliatelle was delicious and the pizza dough reminded me of the delicious pizzas of Naples. I recommend the house red which was great and well priced. The ambiance and decor are fabulous for an intimate dinner.

Thank you so much for helping us plan such a wonderful surprise 60th birthday party meal!when i phoned, I felt i could really trust that everything would be as asked and discussed -and so it proved! We enjoyed a leisurely evening in a large group, with delicious food cooked to order. While I did not see everybody's food, my fritata and seafood risotto were gorgeous!and i was told the salmon-based pasta dish and lasagne were wonderful...The calamares looked amazing-with light batter-and our calamare-loving friend was delighted! The portions are extremely generous, but this meant that some of us were extremely happy to be able to take some home for another day..Sadly i was too full for tiramisu, which i had really enjoyed on a previous visit....tHe warmth and flexbility in such a delightful setting made it a lovely evening to remember...Highly recommend!i hope to return next time i visit Ealing!

This restaurant was absolutely wonderful. The ambiance, lighting, and music were all perfect. It was relaxing and beautiful on a blustery fall night. Wonderfully warm inside, they serve large portions, at excellent prices, perfect for a glass of wine and a hot plate of authentic Italian pasta to keep you warm on a cold autumn or winter night. Though it was too cold to sit outside there is a beautiful seating area outside as well. I would highly recommend this cozy place for any meal.

The food was good but the service was SO BAD. I used to be a regular at Villa Toscana as I am quite local to the restaurant. However, after not eating there for a few months I thought it would be a good idea to go back and enjoy a meal with my family. As soon as I entered, it was clear to see that there were no waiters/waitresses working that day, but just the owner. He was quite simply one of the worst mannered waiters I have ever experienced. No smiles, no please or thank yous. He even got our orders wrong because he was not writing down what we were ordering. The is always good but I did not expect such poor, poor service when I revisited. I will not be returning to this restaurant due to the terrible service received on that day.

Local resident. Rather cramped with friendly service.Food is not bad.Premises could benefit from a good cleaning.
Toilets are basic, basin needed cleaning, one hand towel to be used by all is not very hygienic.
Old food under radiators, wall heater badly needed a clean.
Only small bottles of beer at a premium price.

Hidden Gem!. We had a such a good eve here that we returned for a second in the same week whilst visiting Ealing. It's a cosy and very friendly place with such a good atmosphere. The food was gorgeous- and so much of it! Highly recommend the chicken in a creamy garlic sauce on the specials section of the menu. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we'll definitely be visiting again.

Great neighbourhood restaurant. I rather enjoyed this place and the food is very good.

First though, the bad stuff. The service is relaxed to the point of horizontal. The room is only a little bigger than a large sitting room. I've seen waiters manage rooms twice the size on their own with more efficiency.

Still, you don't go for a bistro atmosphere I suppose. This is a very nice homely restaurant that serves good food in suburban London.

We had pasta and deep fried calamari - basic dishes that usually provide a sign that you're being cooked for by someone who knows their stuff.

My girlfriend's sicilian aubergine number was really good. My spicy sausage tagliatelle was also very good but not quite to the standard of the aubergine which was all lovely creamy flesh with bits of tasty skin, cut and cooked to perfection. The calamari was also very good and cooked perfectly. I should also mention the house wine (white) is very good.

For those familiar with Ealing, this place is a bit like Tandoori Villa in South Ealing or Santa Maria near the studios - a local place banging out great food that local people love (to be fair to Santa Maria, their pizza is proably a cut above anything else in London but still, the point stands).

If you're in the neighbourhood, you should visit and you won't regret it. Not sure it's worth a special trip in the way Santa Maria is but, really, that's no excuse not to try it.

My absolute favourite in London. From the very first day fell in love with it. The cozy atmosphere, the gorgeous food and warm people.
I discovered this restaurant years ago (must've been 2007) accidently driving past it (for my selfish self a perfect location as not many people know about it). I kept returning since.
My favourite is the lamb shank even though the presentation has changed a little bit recently. I also have to praise their risotto, and the complimentary pizza bread starter you get everytime.
I think one of the nicest things about the place is that the owner is always there and when you come in, it feels like coming to an old friend's restaurant.
It's the one place in London where I know I can take anyone and we won't be disappointed.
Looking forward to it tonight too.

1st time visit. Just wanted to say that I would highly recommend this restaurant. My girlfriend and I went there for the first time this evening (having heard so much about it from some friends) and we were both extremely impressed by not just the food but the friendly service and the great atmosphere. We would definitely go back again and in fact are planning to book the restaurant for our engagement party. The food was made from fresh ingredients and the portions were very generous! Absolutely fab!

Good food. My family and I have always enjoyed going to this restaurant and we take our friends with us every time. Never been disappointed with the quality of food or service and would highly recommend it!

Not sure what the previous writer means by "luck lustre"!! Does such a word exist??
Amber
Disappointing and luck lustre. We had dinner at this restaurant recently and ordered calamari for starters and seabass and steak for the main course. The calamari was good however, the main course was very disappointing. The low quality steak was masked by a strong tomato sauce. £14.95 for the seabass was over priced when you only get one side of a very small seabass.

There are much much better quality Italian restaurants al within a mile of this restaurant (Ginos and Paolos)and I will definitely go to those, rather than this one.

Best place in London right on my doorstep .... We eat out regular all over london, trying lots of well known good restaurants.
However for good food with a cosy ambience we have been coming back here for years .
The aroma of herbs and garlic as you walk up gets you hungry. The menu is standard and they don't mind tweaking a dish to your taste.
In fact when the owner was away for a while we noticed from the taste immediately and returned when he did.
Can't fault it and luckily for me its close to home so we can get a cab and really enjoy ourselves.
Definitely recommend it and its safer to book as its a hidden treasure

Great, tasty food and giant portions! Friendly staff and also great house wine! I've lived near this restaurant for a few months and must have been there at least ten times! Every time it's been delicious and I've definitely never left hungry. Would definitely recommend to everyone who loves great Italian food.
