Never been before. Relaxed atmosphere, prompt and attentive service. Great not having to think about what I'm going to have to choose as menu is a fresh green salad dressed in a delicious dressing, followed by medium steak served to perfection with skinny salted fries on a hot plate with a yummy dressing. It's a smaller than average plate that it's served on but what I hadn't realised is the waitress comes round again and fills your plate once more. Your food stays hotter for longer and tastes incredible. Creme Brulee to finish. Excellent meal. House red was good too. Overall a great experience. Top Tucker!!

Great lunch spot. Just the right amount of meat for a Monday lunchtime. The secret herb sauce was subtle but tasty. Well cooked fries.

A touch expensive at just shy of £25 per person for a small amount of meat and lots of fries but on the other hand the wine list is well priced. The service was spot on, very warm and welcoming.
Worth a look if in the area.
Steak n Chips, what's not to like about that!! Love the concept: turn up, queue up until a table comes free and once seated place your order for rare, medium or well-done. Unfortunately the 'secret green sauce' which accompanies the steak contains dairy (I am lactose intolerant) so my plate was a bit dry and lacked something. Can't believe I am saying this but I missed not having the option to order a side of vegetables to accompany my meal.
A lovely branch of a lovely chain. The original in Marylebone is excellent and the Bank branch is no slouch either. I especially like how they give you your steak in two servings so it is kept at just the right temperature. And the sauce... Mhmmm. To die for... Ask for extra if you can. You tummy and mouth will thank you but your waistline won't. Recommended for a decent steak at a decent price. Just be aware that everyone else has the same idea as well, so there might be a bit of a wait.
Good Lunch. Enjoyed the dressing on the salad, made it fabulous! Very French with the mustard. The steak sauce looked a little strange, but complimented it well. The double serving of a rare steak ensured that it didn't go cold during conversation Wines limited, but good. Much more relaxing than spending time looking at menus with staff waiting

Le Relais de Venise (City). Arrive after 12:15pm and you can expect to wait up to 30 minutes some days, but the truth is, if you have the time, it is a meal worth waiting for. Packed with mostly male City suits and banking types, with the occasional women thrown in for good measure, the City branch of this world famous formula of restaurants is just the thing the Square Mile seemed to be missing.
The concept is simple, with just a single item on the menu, a simple green salad with walnuts and vinaigrette, followed by a straight forward Entrecote steak with bottomless quantities of proper 'Frites' and an oozily unctuous 'secret sauce' that is the real star of the show. A rich butter sauce, made with herbs and absolutely stacks of garlic, which when drizzled over your steak and fries, is absolutely heavenly. Don't make the mistake of eating here when you aren't really hungry, because with two rounds of meat and as many fries as you can gorge yourself on, this really isn't 'Nouvelle Cuisine'. Great value, it has to be said, with a fixed price of just £19.50 per person.
For the brave among you who manage to continue on to eat more, the desserts are really the stuff of dreams. They are famous for the incredibly naughty stack of delightful little profiteroles, filled with vanilla ice cream (rather than cream) and bathed in the most sinful dark chocolate sauce you could ever imagine. They are also do some wonderful cheeses and wines, so i ask you, what's not to like?
The only warning I would give is for Vegetarians. This is NOT a restaurant for you. We did once take a vegetarian colleague with us to lunch here and hilariously she had a small plate of cheese with endless fries. Cheese and chips at £19.50? Erm, I think even the non-veggies among us would pass!

Very good steak frites. Came here on a Monday night with a coupon for a free bottle of wine. They only serve one dish here but they do it very very well.: steak frites.
The steak was very tender and flavorful, cooked medium. The frites were delicious--some of the best I've had. Crispy and soft on the outside. The steak was already sliced--which was a bit odd but the great quality of the steak really made up for it being pre-sliced. The salad was good --though I think it was covered with too much sauce.
The dish is served in two helpings. They split it up and serve you the second half after you finish the first. They say doing this makes for a better dining experience--and it seemed to make it more relaxed and enjoyable.
The service was very attentive with waitresses checking on us at the right moment.
Only complaint: they didn't serve butter with the bread. A bit odd for a French restaurant in my opinion.
I will definitely make it back to Relais de Venise. It's reasonably priced for such a great dish.
By the way, there is only one thing on the menu: Trimmed Entrecôte Steak “Porte Maillot” with its famous sauce & French fries and Green salad with walnuts, £23.00. You can bring your vegetarian friend along. On their website, they say “We welcome vegetarians.Start with a green salad with mustard vinaigrette topped with walnuts, followed by a selection of cheeses and accompanied by frites plus a dessert of your choice, £23″. A place I felt in love since the first time I went was Le Relais de Venise. What is not to love, good meat, fries, and a spectacular secret sauce. The menu can't be more simple, one main, one dish to rule them all, one dish to find them, one dish to bring them, and in the darkness bind them. The Place The place a French brasserie, winning formula since 1959, when Paul Gineste de Saurs bought an Italian restaurant called Le Relais de Venise in Paris to distribute his family wines, he kept the tacky Venetian decor, add a sign that said L'Entrecote and gave to his costumers a salad for starter and then steak frites but with a twist in the sauce, and voila immediately success. Four locations under the original name, Paris, London two times baby? London twice today, yes City and Marylebone, and New York, but three branches of the family operated by Paul's children are expanding the business around the world.

In the beginning I thought that I was going to wait in the queue for a long of time, but it was too short. We ordered very quickly, the service was excellent and the food was of very good quality. You dont have many choices as the menu is limited to few dishes but you will discover there what does refill means ;-)! On top of these the deserts were fabulous!!! If you're an indecisive person who loves great steak, this is the place for you! There's only one menu option : green salad with mustard vinaigrette topped with walnuts, followed by steak frites, all for just £24. All you need do is tell your efficient waitress how you like your steak cooked.
They bring your steak out in two halves; the first half with regular chips, and the second with fresh chips. Both are cooked to absolute perfection and smothered in their delicious secret recipe sauce. If you're not too full, there is a wide selection of desserts to choose from too.
The decor is typically French; lots of dark wood and waitresses wearing old fashioned black and white uniforms. The presentation of the food leaves a little to be desired, but when it tastes as good as it does, what does it matter?
Heard about this French steak place in Paris for being one of the best in the city, and thought I'd give it a go for lunch. L'entrecote don't do reservations so be sure to arrive early with a complete party. What they do do is a house salad followed by one dish (sliced fillet steaks with French fries) for just over 20pounds, and that they do pretty well. An added bonus is that the portions served in halves to ensure your food remains hot and fresh throughout your meal. Desserts are sublime with a selection of chocolate infused cakes, fondues, meringues, and others (all in French of course). I came with a group of 4 and with a bottle of wine and desserts the bill came out at around 35 a head. Definitely come here again!

They only have one set menu which starts with a salad and then the star of the show which is the steak and fries. In addition, they ask if you want your steak medium or rare and you can repeat the steak and fries 2/3 times.
I really enjoyed the sauce, it tastes like peppercorn sauce with mustard and I would come back for it alone.
I finished the meal with some of their desserts. The profiteroles with dark chocolate are 10 out of 10. Also tried their ice creams and the cinnamon one is amazing! This restaurant is a great place to come for a celebration or a catch up with friends. If you go make sure you are there when they open as the queue forms really fast. When I arrived i got a table immediately but a 45 minute queue is expected if you show up after they open.
Most of the staff is really welcoming and I would give my experience a 9/10.

Staff were nice & quite accommodating which is to their credit, taking to into account how busy it is.

The house wine is pretty decent as well.
Food, atmosphere and service was absolutely perfect. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Queues are slightly long I’d recommend arriving before opening to be seated otherwise you will have to wait for minimum 40 minutes outside.

They have a set menu only for lunch... this included a salad with mustard dressing, pieces of a classis French baguette, the steak is served either rare, medium or well done, no in between here! We went for teh rare and it was perfect. You can add on drinks and desserts!

This place is just so good. It does steak and chips only and it does it to perfection. No waiting foods out in a shot, house red is great, cheese and port to finish are superb. Just go, you won't be disappointed.

Incredible! This resturant definitely deserves the status it has! The steak/sauce and chips were delicious as we expected. The starter was a simple salad but with super tasty mustardy dressing. The meat was cooked to perfection, my partner got blue and I got rare (both were exceptional). The fries were crispy and delicious. The portion sizes were great, the meat is served to you in two servings to stop the meat from getting cold and overloading the plates. £30 for the set menu was great value for money considering the quality. We went here on a Wednesday because we wanted to beat the queues we’ve heard about, we were in the queue at 5.45 we got straight in at 6. The servers there were also lovely and attentive. I highly recommend.
I've been to one of these restaurants in Geneva and glad to say the format hasn't changed. Just steak n chips preceeded by a salad. Food was good. Service was prompt. In and out in less than an hour (Friday lunchtime). This place has a queue so arrive as early as possible.
Awesome steak, sliced. Two helpings allowed. Melt in the mouth with great sauce, good wine and a lovely salad to begin with. An experience!
