Our dessert experience at this restaurant was superb. The staff was friendly and welcoming, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere. The dessert menu was excellent, and the sweet wine was a great pairing, making it a delightful sweet treat outing.

Beautiful restaurant right in the heart of Borough Market. The staff was attentive and helpful in their suggestions. The price wasn't as high as I would have expected considering it's location and style of food. The drink choices were lovely, and even the kids were happy with the burgers and appetizers offered.

This was the second time I visited this restaurant and its still a great place to eat at. The venue is so airy open and bright, Wonderful for a sunny afternoon lunch. The decor is modern and chic. It has a French bistro sort of vibe even though its a steakhouse. The food was great. Very tasty and well presented.
The staff are nice and friendly. Initially they were attentive and came over regularly but this started to slip during our visit. We didn't have 1 specific staff member attending to us, which was a little annoying. 1 server (who may have been the manager) was really good and sounded like they knew their stuff redeemed them for a while. It's a nice place and I would still visit again.

A well cooked fillet steak, seared nicely with a perfect medium centre. Comes with fries and a fresh salad.
And if you have room the Apple Pie & Custard is to die for.
I’d definitely recommend this place for a date or meal out with friends.

Fabulous food and service from this restaurant.
Price wise was a tad expensive but considering everywhere at the moment... And how nice it was... It wasn't a negative on the meal.
Staff very helpful, and polite

Delicious food and relaxed atmosphere.
Service was at times very pleasant and other times pushy and unhelpful.
Starters were small and really tasty.
Steak was cooked well but my steak was quite fatty
The seating was a four table with a glass between the other table of four. Like a mirror except different people

Great value set menu with good quality dishes on offer, my steak was very tasteful and tender which is unusual at £22 for a two course meal. My main was served with fries and béarnaise sauce. Delicious apple and cinnamon pie with custard, I will revisit.
Highly recommended.

It was absolutely gorg! The cheeseburger was the best thing I’ve ever tasted and my family really enjoyed it too. Even the plain rice was incredible.

Came for the food, stayed for the espresso martini’s. Janik at the bar made us one of the best espresso martini’s in all of London!

Really nice food and service. Just had a bunch of drunk guys being loud and obnoxious, but that wasn't the restaurant's fault.

we went for our 10th wedding anniversary, it was amazing! We used to go about 12 years ago and it was still amazing! Attentive staff, fantastic steak and cocktails. Thanks for the complimentary drink too.
we will be coming back.

This is a clearly 5 for me. Incredible steak with many options and fair prices. We had the cote de boeuf for 47£ for 2. The portion was decent and it came with 2 sets of fries, 2 sauces (multiple options) and a massive salad. We also had a starter which made us really full so it was a bit unnecessary given the portion size of the main dish. But everything was delicious. They also have a set menu option for 20£ for 2 courses and 24£ for 3. It is offered between noon and 7pm so you could easily have it as early dinner. If you are searching for a good steak and possibly an alternative to flat iron, this is it.

Great place after a long day walking around London. Service was great. There had a clear allergen list/menu so it was easy to safely order
We ordered 3 mains and 3 drinks on a Saturday dinner /were in and out in 45min which was perfect given we were so tired

Nice Staff, great Burger and excellent Cocktails. Old Fashion was the best so far in London. Happy Hour until 6pm.

Good, but not mind blowing. I heard good things about the ribs in other Black & Blue locations, but I personally found them quite dry and overly smokey. They could have been juicier and softer. The location is nice, you can sit outside in the sun and it’s not as busy as you might think around it. Would come back to try something else on the menu, or to see if the ribs have improved

Absolutely fantastic this place, partners birthday 🥳 was a last minute walk in, only went in originally for a quick drink after being let down else where, we are so glad we chose black and blue.
The service was second to none, the cote de Boeuf we shared was one of the best we’ve had (if not the best!) and we eat a lot of steaks.
The bottle of 🫧 was nice and the other drinks all reasonably priced! Cannot fault this establishment one bit! I’ll usually find something but I’ve struggled with this one, so what I will say is..when eating steak we should have steak knives! However…the steak was that soft they wasn’t needed! ( so I’ll assume that’s why we don’t get steak knives) also, don’t take that as a negative comment, it was superb!!
The service, the food, the drinks 150/10 ✅
Located right In borough market ✅
Do not pass this place without popping in!

Interesting vibe. Efficient service. But the food is spenny for what you get in terms of taste and presentation.

We loved dining in the beautiful dining room- the recent renovations were fabulous. The food was above average after a show and we enjoyed some interesting cocktails. We found the service a bit curt, bordering unwelcoming.
Quiet Eating
Selective memory is a great thing. On occasion, all I can remember are past glories, triumphs and inexplicably stratospheric heights of the food I consumed. At other times, when a more maudlin mood is upon me, all I can see and smell is the garbage around me. There isn’t much room for average in my head. It either has to be ridiculously good or otherwise cataclysmically horrible to stick. The boring is usually edited out.

The bar here is pretty snazzy and perfect for those who don't want the hustle and bustle of the busy pubs near by. You can choose from high stools next to a solid big wooden table or cute tucked away booths. Decent menu or drinks and bar snacks however you can order from their food menu. Nothing standoutish about the service. All good for a catch prosecco with your girly friends.

I have visited B& B a couple of times over the past few years. Initially I loved the place with it's good quality and service but I went again recently and the food just wasn't as good as it used to be. The service is still good.

It's a modern style, well designed restaurant. Very light and airy which is refreshing change to a traditional appointment.

I have mixed feelings at the moment and I hope that my last meal was a slip up.

Good clean food.. Went for impromptu lunch Monday lunchtime-ish, was quiet inside. Service was perfectly acceptable, I had the ribeye, with peppercorn sauce, my friend had the lamb chops.

Portion sizes were absolutely fine and the steak was cooked med-rare as requested. The fries were crunchy and plentiful. The salad with mustard dressing was a nice compliment to the steak and my friend was more than happy with her lamb!

Peppercorn sauce was very fresh, and heavy on flavour...

7/10

Great food, service so-so. The food was delicious. I went for the mushroom (aubergine, goat's cheese, pepper, pesto and fries) and it was delicious. The other's had the rotisserie chicken and the ribs - also excellent, I've been told.

The only qualm we had with the place was the fact that, when we came to pay the bill, the (optional) service charge was included in the final figure. This in itself wasn't an issue - it's fairly normal practice - but when we didn't quite have enough coins to make up the full bill (including the service charge) the waitress brought it up... We were only about 30p short. This felt a little wrong.

Great night. Went back to black and blue with a couple of friends to celebrate Was not let down by the great steaks .well woth coming up from Portsmouth for. only let down is the trimming of the wine list. service good.

Awful. Awful 80s crap, imagine your friends mum put together a burger in 1985 big tomatoe bllad mince burger crappy bun with mccains oven chips and then indulged you with ketchup all served by a monosylabic waitress then thats what you get, £13 pounds for some sub burger king meal
Benn Glazier
Less than average. Average steak at best and not cooked to instruction. Terrible service - surly and slow. Nespresso pods for coffee? I mean seriously, that is a joke.

Would not come back for what was quite expensive considering what I received.
Grumbling Gourmet
Steak without soul.... Not bad, but not great I'm afraid. Steak and chips by the numbers. A good workaday option, but nothing to set it apart from the others

Full review at: http://www.grumblinggourmet.com/2010/04/black-blue-april-2010.html

Good Steakhouse. Its a nice modern restauarnt next to Bourough market, 2 minutes from London Bridge tube station. It was a mid week evening and the place was quite busy. Pretty decent menu and the steak was really good, cooked well, it went down like a treat! Service is ok but they could do more to make an effort. Its not too expensive, so if you are in the area give it a try...

Nice location under the railway arches next to Borough Market. Menu offered good choice, would recommend the chicken wings starter. Steak was delicious though their chips could have been a little crisper. Service was very good. It wasn't cheap but steak never is. Would certainly go back.

Six of us went for lunch and had a great time. Service was great, food was superb, wine was excellent along with the company. Great steak cooked the way you want it always.
Dave Cook
Seemed pricey. Had a one-course meal, bottle of wine and coffee - came in at £35 per head which seemed pricey to me. Food was good but nothing special.

Lovely Restaurant set in the arches in borough Market. Uncomplicated menu with no fuss, but plenty of meat. The burgers are great, and easy to eat, compared to the usual oversized sized monster. Try the chocolate brownie, it's better than the one in the Market!
Claire
Very dissapointing, visited following a recomendation. Very disappointed Ordered a burger and steak sandwich both of which were very bland. Let down on the service to, which didn't help.

An all round decent performer and as a result you won’t regret visting but this simply doesn’t match up to the acclaimed steak chains of Hawksmoor and Goodmans SCORE : 74/100 / CCC Rating : **** / Cost Rating : £££
SexDrugsandBaconRolls
The dishes were cooked well and generous in size however again the personal touch was lacking. The atmosphere was a little sterile but I assume once more livelier in an evening, it has much more of a buzz.

The steak was A-MAZE-ING, we had it rare and it was beautifully pink, tender and soooo tasty, even the fat was delicious. Mr B did gnaw on the bone, I think I might have encouraged this uncouth behaviour but it was funny! We got three massive bowls of salad for our table of 10 - great mustardy dressing with lettuce, parmesan and walnuts plus a big bowl of chips each. For the £15 a head that we ended up paying I was more than happy - probably the best steak I've ever eaten. Definitely one to visit!

We both ordered a classic hamburger prepared by Black + Blue’s own butchers (Jefferies of Kingston) made with prime Scottish beef, grilled medium rare with crispy bacon and melted cheese, and served with fries @ £14.00
WhereAndNow
When walking past Borough Market you can not help but notice the rather large cow on the corner that makes you wonder if you are walking into some strange version of Disneyland or Old MacDonald's Farm. However, this old cow is Black and Blue's mascot, meaning that you can't walk past without having a little look inÂ
.and for me it is always the bar that lures me in. Now, why would the bar of a fabulous steak restaurant catch my attention…? Well the simple answer is because it is absolutely huge. As you walk through the automatic glass doors of Black and Blue all you can see ahead is a huge marble bar. I am not talking long here, I am talking wide…so wide that the bar staff have to jump up to get your drinks across it and for me the challenge is to always see how much of the bar I can cover with alcoholic beverages. There are tables in the front area and a little side room for all of the sports fans, who can sit on the leather chairs and watch Match

Not having been in before, it's immediately obvious that it is a chain. I've got nothing against Gaucho, Masala Zone or Tas and when on the West Coast would walk a long way for an In 'n' Out burger, but if you are a chain restaurant, you've got to really

Black & Blue is a temple to steak, which you'll realise as you pass under large red cow which sits over the entrance. Its location in a large railway arch in the middle of Borough Market gives dining there an urban feel as trains rumble overhead and the market crowd rush past the large windows. Inside, Black & Blue feels fairly swanky inside, with lots of glass and steel in contrast with the large bare walls of railway brick.

Service is brisk and there's plenty of room. The steaks are cooked excellently and served with a variety of sides. Wine isn't as expensive as might be expected and the staff are friendly.

All in this is a great steak house and worth a visit.
