We had seen reviews on this place so decided to give it a go as we were staying in London for my wife's 40th. We were not disappointed as the place lived up to people's reviews. The shared starter was amazing and that's no understatement. The main course was pizza and it was probably the best I have eaten. It was great value and totally worth going. Thank you for a great meal šš¾š¾š

Being Italian we were told about this restaurant and we thought letās go and check it out. No regrets there. Great service served by William. Shame was his last day there as he seemed very good with the customers and in recommending what to choose from the menu. Wish him all the best in his new career.
Place was very smart very modern very clean.
Staff very nice and polite food to die for. We had burrata to share. It was so delicious that we ordered another one. Me and my sister had pappardelle bolognese. My son had pizza Iām not a pizza person but that it was amazing and husband had paccheri seafood. Iām dribling while Iām writing this that the food was so nice and to finish it off I had a tiramisu. Best tiramisu I had in all my eating out places experience.
I will go back to this place without a doubt.
Compliment to the chef well done to everyone in this amazing restaurant. Carry on as you are youāre doing great.
See you soon šš
Stumbled across this place yesterday lunchtime & loved it! Nice surroundings, great customer service & amazing food! Best gluten free pizza I've ever had, didn't notice the difference!
Only criticism I'd say is tables are close together & had a table behind me that were rather rude in not respecting our table & virtually sitting on my back! Staff noticed & acknowledged we didn't have best seats & apologised .... not that we made a complaint, so that was great to have!
Nice pizza and very cold beer. I truly recommend. Go for it.
I visited with a friend the other day and I was very impressed with the efficiency of the service and the quality of the food. It was brought to the table very promptly despite the restaurant being fairly busy at the time. All the staff were very polite and welcoming. I'll definitely be visiting again soon!
I often come here when i am in London. In my opinion as a part italian, its the best italian food you will find and always served by wonderful staff. Yesterday Antonio looked after me superbly and today Consuelo. Thanks guys and see you soon!!
A really lovely place to eat. Probably best pizza I have ever had. Excellent friendly service and will definitely return.
One of my most fav places in London for good italian food. Visited the Covent garden restaurant twice and the shoreditch one once. I advice the Covent garden but it could be a bit difficult to get table over weekends or during holidays. The gnocchi pasta is to die for. I have literally forced my friends to try this place and I advice you the same :)
Perfect Neapolitan pizzas.
We also did relish Gnocchi and Bruschetta. The drinks were good too, in taste and variety.
Tiramisu though was average, or rather we had better expectations.
The place can get real noisy both day and evening times. This one is situated at the most opputune location for theatre goers, and would be the recommended spot for pre-theatre dining.
Been here for Saturday dinner. We managed to get a nice corner table upstairs and I am already liking the vibe of this place. Moving to the food we go for a Bruschetta and Olives to go with the drinks. The bruschetta is really nice and my partner in crime is in love with the olives. For mains it's gnocchi and piccante vegan pizza. The gnochhi is cheesy and tasty. This place is famous for their pizza and our pizza is just perfect, haven't really had a pizza like this elsewhere. In deserts we go for a tiramisu and strawberry gelato served with berries and whipped cream. Both the deserts are yummy. All in all great place and great food!
We came at 10:30pm and the staff were friendly, they welcomed us, and they served us till last minute, and they didnāt make us feel like we had to go because they were closing soon.
The food was excellent!
Orders:
-Pizza margherita
-Pizza with (burrata cheese, parmesan and rocca)
-Bolonesa pasta
-Bruscetta
-Burata
(sorry for any spelling mistakes in the orders)
Even though the restaurant was gonna close very soon they offered to serve desserts and coffee.
I really appreciate the service.
The food, the atmosphere, and most importantly the staff were good.
If your reading this, try it!
Loved the Italian food here. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had pizza, gnocchi and starters. Everything was perfect. Definitely going back.
It's a chain so you probably know what you're getting! But if not, Rossopomodoro an Italian chain specialising in the traditional Naples-style pizza.Ā Ā
Given the location, this is a particularly busy branch even in mid-afternoon but as a table of two, we were lucky enough to be seated straight away.
They have a fairly small but good selection of pizzas and pastas. I went for the Margherita - a pizza I avoid in basic pizza joints but always go for in "proper" Italian places! It was absolutely delicious!
Drinks-wise, I'd recommend the Aperol Spritz as it's huge and very refreshing!Ā Service is good and prices are pretty decent. A good place for families or small groups.
What are the odds of finding great napolitan pizza near covent garden ?? Very low I believe but this is exactly what happened me at this great place!
wow what a place. it is one of thebestĀ italian I have eaten. Got invited here by friends and the food was especially for vegetarian people.Ā
They make thier own dough. The bruschetta Ā and eggplant parmigiana was great. Great alio Olio pasta and great pizza.Ā
In london a must visit
As a family, we love going out together and enjoying a nice family meal. We are big fans of Italian food, especially after our family holiday to Italy. Little man was invited to a childrenās pizza masterclass at Rossopomodoro a couple of years ago and had a fantastic experience. As we loved it so much, we couldnāt wait to visit it again!
Been here yesterday. Has a good selection of authentic neapolitan pizzas in london. Should try their fresh mozzarellas and bruschettas.
Service is a little slow and tables far too small to accommodate 4 people which they should consider.
Pizza was great. Had the prosciutto e funghi pizza. Horrible Italian sodas though. The chinotto tasted vinegary, reminiscent of the times my mother used to hit me for no reason. It's probably what naughty children are force drunk in Italy.
The best Italian food I have ever had. It used to be a must on my London visits. Any plans of opening a branch in India? š Amazing Napolitano food in the heart of London. I just love the pizza base
Place where they say that the pizza dough is made like in Napoles! If it is or not i really don't know because I never been but the true is that Rossopomodoro have delicious pizzas. I really recommend to ask for the bread basket so you can try it with the olive oil and the balsamic vinegar.
The burratta was so nice and the black ink pasta was so good. We also ordered pizza . The pizza was not the best i had in london. Service was quick and ambience was so nice but kind of noisy.
Rossopomodoro is one of the more authentic pizza chains in the capital. The service is consistently high and the pizzas are always thin, crispy and delicious. Yes, there are better places to get a good pizza in the area (Fire & Stone) but still, I would chose this place over Pizza Express any day of the week.
Best pizza in Town.
We tried these Italian restaurant advised by some friends, the pizza is amusingly good and also the pasta is fantastic, we will definitely come back again soon!!!
Simply beautiful Italian pasta.... Loved it
Manager was helpful but wait staff was not. Told there was wifi, then said it didn't work. Room very warm and few outdoor tables. Food was so, so.
Liked it fine. Can't doubt the autheticity of the Italian staff! Pizza good but took us (2) long time to get the pizza on the the table. Melt in the mouth raviolli. friendly staff ! Want to go back and try the rest!
Great pizzas. Pick either red (with tomatoes) or white (without), but all of the ones I've tried have been delicious. If there's two of you pick one of each and share.
Currently offering a lunchtime deal of any pizza and a glass of wine for £8.99, which is pretty unbeatable
Excellent. Ate at teh Covent Gardens location. Fantastic pizza, great staff, excellent atmosphere. Liked it so much, we planned or next day's wanderings around eating at the Notting Hill location. Didn't, though, because we were meeting friends for dinner, and they suggested Rosso. We ended up eating at The Cow, which wasn't as good.
I have to confess to not being entirely well disposed to the food by the time the pizza arrived. Expectations suitably lowered, they were wonderfully and unexpectedly knocked into a different league by the pizza. I went for simplicity itself, a humble margherita, topped with a simple smear of fresh tomato, sweet mozzarella and a wisp of basil. The other one was a Carmelo, slightly overbearing smoked mozz - leaving both of us feeling like we'd just nipped out for a fag - and lovely, if too sweet, Neapolitan pork sausage.
I recently visited this new Italian Pizzeria in London 's Covent Garden . Highly recommended by my Italian friend Bruno, who will not go anywhere else for his pizza fix, I came to Rossopomodoro armed with a lovely bunch of Italian foodies an
As the name suggests, decor was very much modelled on a French Brasserie, but as I can't really remember much else about it, can't have been particularly impressive. As we sat down and waited for my sister (who incidentally was late and was only coming fr
This Neapolitan restaurant is situated on the premises where the former sushi eatery Gili Gulu used to be! Rossopomodoro's menu is quite extensive ranging from the usual pizzas, pastas, salads to fried pizzas, grill
Rossopomodoro is a successful chain of Italian Restaurants promoting Neaplolitan food. It has many branches all over Italy and has now launched in the UK . The chain has wood fired ovens and make good Neapolitan style pizzas using quality ingredients. The
With the recommendations of both a Neapolitan and a Sardinian, a group of us girls from work headed to Rossopomodoro near Covent Garden for dinner a couple Friday nights ago. This Italian chain has received quite a slating from the blogging world but it s
Every time I visit London, Rosso pomodoro is the first restaurant I visit.
I enjoy their pasta and wooden baked pizza.
What makes it a different experience is the fresh basil plant laid on the table, picking and eating it is allowed ;)
Best Parmigiana I've ever had - must try if you like smoked cheese. The restaurant has a great italian atmosphere and reasonable prices with attentive staff.
A few friends and I went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration a few weeks ago. It has two floors and both were packed when we went- Rossopomodoro is clearly a popular destination.
The atmosphere is nice, lively and cosy at the same time. The food was also top notch. I had a truffle cheese pizza which was fantastic. Others had pasta which I found less good.
The only criticism I have of the restaurant is the service. Granted, it was super busy when we went, but the waiters weren't able to provide satisfactory attention to our table. We had to wait a good while before someone came to take our order. The wait was repeated when it was time to ask for the bill. On top of that, when one of my friends asked if it were possible to change a particular ingredient of one of the dishes, her request was met with unsmiling irritation.
All in all, a good restaurant. Good food, nice vibe. A shame the experience was somewhat marred by poor service.
Visited here the other day with a group of friends after this place won out in the debate of where to visit in the area. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. With a high number of Italian food focused chains popping up I expected it to be relatively similar to what I've tried before. Rossopomodoro does however offer something at least a little bit inventive.
Instantly I was drawn towards the gourmet pizzas and decided to get a Fru Fru and Vitulana to share with a friend. The outright winner was the Vitulana! The truffle and buffalo mozz fondue sauce was what caught my eye initially and really is to die for giving a new twist on the standard tomato flavours from pizza sauces. The smoked mozzarella was the real kicker topped off perfectly with the Neapolitan sausage giving the pizza a bit of spice. This really was an impressive pizza.
The Fru Fru, although a good attempt, was much more along the lines of your standard pizza. I do recommend however for the indecisive as this does allow the three in one variety that is often needed to avoid levels of food envy.
Prices were pretty standard for London, total bill coming to around £25 with drinks and service. The food took longer than it should of to get to the table and the service was rather limited, but it was packed so I guess it is to be expected unfortunately.
Overall a good visit, will definitely be back for another Vitaluna at some point!
Melhor pizza que eu ja comi na minha vida! Simplesmente isso...
Excelent pizza and atendiment! Love this restaurant!!!
For a reliable Italian at reasonable prices I'll always think of Rosso Pomodoro first. A friend tells me that this chain is to Italy what Pizza Express is to the UK, but the food is absolutely superior at RP. It might not blow your mind, but the pizzas are satisfying and authentically prepared. The pasta dishes can be a little stingy though, so bear that in mind when ordering starters. A reliable and great value option for authentic Italian in the very centre of London.
Good italian food & efficient service/staff. Good alternative to italian chains.
Rossopomodoro is great italian place with good value for money. Indeed, despite being a chain, it has retained a very italian feel to it and has a varied array of good italian dishes on offer. The service last time i went was excellent and, in case you were wondering, very italian (waitress was from Italy). This helps to create the desired atmosphere i was mentionning previously. To the food. To start off my meal, i ordered the bruschetta. This dish was very basic and didn't overwhelm me. On the other hand, the serving of tomatos i got was nothing less than huge which greatly compensated for the plain taste. I continued my meal with a Calzone pizza. The pizza and ingredients were terrific. Again, a really positive point is that the chef gave me a huge serving and wasn't shy on adding lots of ham and cheese. This makes me confidently say Rossopomodoro is a relatively generous restaurant chain. The location of this particular restaurant is great as it stands just between two key places, Leicester Square and Covent Garden. The restaurant is in itself very well done up and appears rather spacious thanks to the large windows running all around it.
My advice: strongly recommend this place for anyone wanting affordable and quality italian dishes.
Ps: this place is also often recommended by italians themselves which is always a sign of excellent food.
Enjoy!
If you're looking amazing pizza this is the place to go to! I have even heard Italians say that this is their favorite! Don't be put off by the fact that it's a chain, the food and pizzas are great and authentic! The antipasti and pasta are not the best I've had however the pizzas are very nicely done, simple with amazing dough and extra fresh tomato sauce. It's a shame that this place doesn't do pizza delivery!
Recently I was invited for a birthday dinner by an Italian to an Italian restaurant named Rossopomodoro in Covent Garden. You know it would be authentic, if an Italian was the one inviting you to this restaurant. One look at the menu and you would realise that this is way out of the league of Pizza places like Dominoes and Pizza hut! The price range is on a higher side but it is full value for money. I ordered Bruschetta for my appetizer and was not disappointed. The bread was not soggy and was crusty even with the tomatoes being beautifully tossed in extra-virgin olive oil, oregano and basil. Every bite was a joy! For the main course i went for Massese, which had all the ingredients needed for a party in your mouth- tomato sauce, mozzarella and spicy salami. The portions are huge, and you may think you wont be able to finish it but the thin crust makes you wipe up the plate in no time. A vegetarian friend of mine had ordered Verace and he couldn't stop praising the buffalo mozerella on the pizza. A lovely bottle of Frattasi (sweet white wine- for amateurs like me) made the meal worth the 20 pounds i spent. The icing on the cake was indeed a cake and not just any cake but a tiramisu with squirts of nutella on top. Its was dolce and pretty genius if you ask me! All in all a great place for authentic Italian hearty meal.
We arrived at noon on a weekday. It was busy. Five minutes later they were turning people away. Lots of families. Really friendly staff and good pizza including a children's menu.
Only 4 stars as I object to paying 12.5% gratuity: I would prefer to add my own tip. Plus they automatically took a £1 donation for a charity. Again I prefer to chose the charities that I support. I probably could have made a fuss but it seemed petty.
This is an amazing place to go get dinner from, the food is delicious and the staff are so friendly. On their menu they have a wide variety of different Italian food. When I was here I did not get a chance to take a photo of the margarita pizza but one of my friends let me have a bite of theirs and it was absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend coming here if you are in the area where it is.
Me and my husband went for a midweek lunch. We managed to get seated right away. The staff and the manager were really friendly, we had a Pizza Fritta and a 5 formaggi, the dough was really light and tasty, dessert was also good. They are super friendly, you can really experience Italy there, it's like stepping in to Naples for a little while!! We'll definitely come back next time we visit London, hoping for a new opening in the South! Keep up the good work! :)
Bustling Italian restaurant. Staff were mostly nice and helpful but the maitre-d seemed rushed and was not quite as helpful as expected. We were told to wait for our booked table but not sure if we were then in a queue. When going back 5 minutes later, they had forgotten us but we did get seated. Food options were decent and the pizzas arrived very quickly. Pizzas were good quality and filling. We read that they wouldn't have much toppings as they were traditional style but I felt they had a good amount of toppings. Overall, I'd go back but maybe not on a Saturday night at 7pm like we did.
Me and my partner popped up in a Tuesday afternoon and was great! The service is attentive and friendly . We asked for olives, bruschetta, gnocchi and Ziti Al Ragu, finishing with affogato Al cafƩ, superb!!!! Very high recommendation.
One or my favourite pizzas in London, they hardly disappoint. Armando was very nice with us, always ready to catch the order. Very quick service! From order to food on the table around 10 minutes. The music is a bit too loud but the vibe is very Italian.
Small chain of Italian restauarants - this one in the heart of Covent Garden.
Service is quick, the waiters are polite, sometimes you might struggle to get their attention but itās because theyāre bustling about.
The carbonara was good. Simple but tasty served with curly pasta. The pizza was a generous size and my friend enjoyed.
The salad was also hearty and a main portion is good for three or four to share if you wanted to have a more interesting side than mixed greens.
Spritzes were served in large Crystal glasses - the same as on the shores of restaurants in Lake Como. Of course, an Italian restaurant attracts Italian staff so itās an authentic experience š
You can get a decent lunch for around £20 per person. Alcohol and extras obviously drive the price up but it could be a cheap meal if you stick to water/soft drinks and a pizza/pasta main only.
Make a reservation at peak times of the day.
Had an absolutely wonderful dinner here at Rossopomodoro Covent Garden. The service was flawless and so attentive- particularly from our waiter Dario. Lovely atmosphere and the food was so fresh. Would definitely recommend anyone to visit! Thanks guys š
Very good experience.
First we came because they let my partner, who was feeling sick, into the bathroom. They even offered him a glass of water.
Then we decided to go back to eat there, the food was great, especially the pizzas.
You can tell that the quality is superior to other places and you can see that the ingredients are of higher quality.
There was a small problem with the waiting time for one of the pizzas and the waitress gave us a discount on the final bill for it.
We could not be more grateful for the treatment we received.
Thank you so much!
Good food selection on the menu. Music is so loud you have to speak really loud to hear each other. Staff seems a bit stressed. Appealing exterior, but average food.
An Italian friend recommended this, and it's fantastic! They serve southern Italy-style pizza, which is quite distinct from the other popular pizza chains in London
A great pizza place. The pizza is really good. The price is quite reasonable. The pizza is quite large, giving a good portion, and the taste is excellent. The quality of the pizza is excellent, the ingredients of the pizza is high quality.
On the other hand, the place is very noisy, and it is quite uncomfortable to sit inside. Inside it is pretty hot, the music is bad, the the noise is too loud.
Location is great, not far from Covent Garden Underground.
Great place to have your pizza.
Good service and a good selection on the menu, fun shaped pizza for young ones too. Not overly priced for London either,I've put a price range of £20-£30pp because it would depend on what drinks you have with food
I really enjoyed my gluten free salciccia pizza today. The food arrived quickly. Me and my friend stayed for quite a long time but it was very cosy and quite quiet during lunchtime on a weekday - we were only kicked out because it was getting crowded later on in the day. The service is very decent. Prices are London prices (expensive for what it is, but what you have to pay in this city).
Best Italian restaurant I've been to. Food was great tasting with authentic Italian favours. . Staff were nice and helpful. The vegetarian options were great and good range of topping available to customise your pizza. We had children with us and they loved the food and the staff were really kind to them and treated them well. Highly recommend this restaurant for any pizza lovers out there.
Being a Neapolitan, I must say this ranks among the finest pizzas I've savored in London. The crust is soft yet bursting with authentic flavors. The service is top-notch, with attentive waiters catering to every whim. I'll certainly be coming back for more.
Energetic dining with one heck of a pizza. Reminded me of NY for a bit. Glass of wine is 10 so heads up, cocktails are 12ish. The food was fresh and again the pizza was the highlight of the meal. Side salad was very light, wouldnāt trust that again. Plus is GF options as well. Would give 5 stars but our server was nonexistent, we actually never got our waters after asking 2 other servers than our own, so that was very odd. Had to slowly sip on my wine instead. But they know their pizza. 4/5.
One of the best pizza I've ever had
