I've had the classiest, most fantastic night here on Friday the 30/10. This is old Arabic finest style. We danced by the entrance, DJ was MARVELOUS in playing compilation tunes from all other backgrounds, amazing food, and entire staff was super-friendly. I cannot say enough!
Must go back soon. So very lovely...magic! If you'd like to charm, it's worth the splurge.
Other than the delicious food, brilliant service and authentic ambience, this place has absolutely excellent music in the lounge area! Dj Cham is by far one of the best dj's I've come across globally! All my guests I bring to levant have an amazing time and I never get tired of this restaurant! One of my favourite weekend night spots!
I was there on Saturday 29th July with my friends for my birthday. Excellent customer service, good food and drinks, security guard kindly helped go down to the venue as I was on crutches and carried my bags. Belly dancers was excellent and music that we stayed until the restaurant closed.
Excellent food. Great service. Great hospitality. Welcoming staff members. Arabic night on Saturday night was outstanding. Electrifying crowd
Amazing surroundings filled with external delight
Food was top class this was my second visit abs didn't disappoint
fabulous food, Great Ambience, I who, heartedly recommend this restaurant, looking forward to another visit.
Amazing food and deco loved the place and the belly dancing was so good a lovely restaurant .
Great service would definitely recommend to all who haven't been.
An amazing place, great food, amazing music and stunning belly dancers. Could not sit still, the live band played so well. Would definitely be visiting again. Thank you for making our night so special
Una bella esperienza dall'inizio alla fine. Consigliatissimo per un salto dalla frenesia di Londra alla serena atmosfera orientale. Tutto molto curato
Fantastic restaurant. Great atmosphere service and delicious food at a reasonable price. Can't wait to go back
Such an authentic place to have the most delicious Lebanese concoctions at the most reasonable prices, optimal hygienic conditions and prompt and punctual service as well.
Absolutely loved the food, their meat was perfectly seasoned straight out of the grill. If you are a meat lover then we definitely recommend this place, their dishes are served with a great portion of arabic rice and salad. We enjoyed their hummus and kibbeh for starters as the hummus came with fresh bread. The atmosphere is dark and vibrant as there is great entertainment in terms of music and bellydancers. The waiters were friendly and catered to your needs. A hidden lebanese gem so make sure to look out for it.
Absolutely drool worthy food and the highlight being the ambience! Great Moroccan decor with options of private enclosures for privacy and live dance on particular days of the week are a must watch! Can’t wait to go back to this place on my next visit to UK.
One of the best experiences... the food is delicious, the meatballs, their babaganoush is the best I have had so far... andddd the dancers are beautiful and so graceful ... I will always remember the night ...
Excellent night, thank you Levant! We came here for a birthday party, we were 9. From the moment of reservation to the end of the night the staff were very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. We changed our mind and decided on cous cous instead of the rice for our tagine which was changed without hesitation. Food was delicious and everyone in our group loved it. The belly dancing felt like it went on for longer than the 15 minutes they said which was great and so entertaining. We had the late sitting table which meant the music was a bit loud to have a conversation but we knew this in advance and it added to the atmosphere. The dj was really fantastic, music had something for everyone from arabic, latin raggaeton to african beats and flamenco we couldn't resist dancing our feet off. Great place!
We were craving Lebanese food therefore we were in the area and we went there.
Was around 6.30pm so really early the service was really fast and kind .
I really advice the Main with hallumi cous cous vegetable and sweet fig ... Really taste but the portion is really big so if you like to taste even some starter I advice to share the main .
Falafel are big and really good 4 balls as portion
Humus is delicate with not to much garlic
Pitta bread warm and delicious .
The interior design are pretty good just a bit dark but really typical .
Is a good place where to have dinner and the atmosphere is nice and clean.
A decent Lebanese restaurant with nice ambience. Food is decent too. There are belly dancers performing every now and then which adds to authenticity of this restaurant
Went here with a small group and really enjoyed the evening!
The ambiance was very nice and inviting. The decor inside is beautiful, and lives upto the cuisine. The food is delicious. We went for the lamb shoulders which is quite well prepared. They had a flash belly dance performance which was too loud for someone enjoying a peaceful meal.
I would recommend this place for a group of friends and not for a family dinner with kids or someone wanting a quite time.
Why Waste Annual Leave?

When 3 bloggers decided to get together with their other halves for a mammoth triple date, the options should been ample - after all, we all love travel, we all love different cuiines - how har can it be? Turns out, trying to find somewhere that suits a vegetarian, a non beef-eater, a nut allergy that's reasonably central, can be booked in advance, has a bit of a wow factor about iit and is open a Monday night turned out to be an almost impossible challenge!
But eventually, we landed upon the seductive and dimly lit Levant in Marylebone and when one of the group started squealing with excitement before we were even seated, we knew we were in for a good night!
You feel like you're right in the middle of an Arabian nights set when you're here with an armatic smell inside, sumptuous lightin and furnishings, 2 beautiful belly dancers who made me feel decidedly less confident about my figure and most of all, a fabulous Lebanese feast!
If you're coming in a group, as we were, we were told ina advance that we would need to order from the feast menu, although on the night, our menu contained both feast menu options and a la carte options but we all went with the feast choices. Some of the pricier feast options are to be shared between two and others can be ordered individually. The surprise unlimited bubbles they brought our way at no extra cost came as a very nice surprise though with 2 of us not drinking, there were a few extra happy punters in our group!
A selection of starters are brought out to share such as mezze, kibbeh, dips such as homemade fresh humous and baba ghanoush, tabouleh and delicious warm bread. This course was a huge display on our table and I'd strongly urge you to show some restraint on this bit because we didn't and I don't think there was even one person in our group who was able to finish main course!
The choices of mains varied between mixed grills, halloumi steak for the veggie opion, lamb shank and chicken and the meat was tender all round.
Dessert was a platter of Turkish delight (I have never been much of a fan), baklavas (usually love these but they were much the same here as they are anywhere and I'd have loved for these to have tasted a bit different to what you can find in packs at the supermarket) and some fresh hot mint tea, which was served the traditional way, sweetened way and poured out of a grand pointy pot from a great height.
All in all, a great place if you're looking for a group dining location with a bit of novelty factor and glamorous interiors that will transport you to foreign land.
The last time couple of times I went to Levant was in 2012. Yes! ages ago. My girlfriends and I were looking for something near Bond Street and belly dancing so I suggested we head to Levant. I wasn’t sure whether the food was going to be of the same quality as the last review I did was around that time.
But you know what, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the food ridiculously delicious (I cleaned my plate), everyone on the table was full of praises. I suppose it shouldn’t come as a shock because Tony Kitous (owner of Levant) also owns Kenza and Comptoir Libanais. Both popular and successful restaurants in their own right. I booked through Twitter so great to see these guys are actively checking their Twitter account and taking booking through that as well.
And for all the belly dancing enthusiasts, there’s plenty of that too!
Not Cheap but excellent food. Some of my friends who are locals in London tell me this place is a tourist spot and not authentic. Regardless, the food is superb. The tabooli is the absolute best I have ever had. Period. I was first at Levant NYE 2011 and then again in 2012. Both times the food was impeccable. Service was average, not excellent and not bad. Prices are high but the food is worth it. Not to mention if you catch it on the right night you get an authentic live Arabic band and not so authentic but still attractive bellydancers. If you're in the area definitely check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Go for the food, stay for the bellydancers
Away from the hustle bustle of Bond Street, is this hidden gem tucked away down a winding alley just off Wigmore Street, where torches burn at its entrance, guttering candles light the way down the stairs to the basement Lebanese-style restaurant. You are greeted with potent Arabian incense as you descend down to dramatically done-up interiors and you feel as if you have just entered Aladdin’s world (the one with the Genie and not the Dictator :P) The staff is super polite and helps with useful suggestions on what to order. I visited this place during lunch with a colleague from our London office. We ordered from their fixed lunch menus which included – Fattoush platter, kibbe lahme, and falafel kredis. The rice was nice – cooked in chicken stock for a bit more flavor. The chicken was excellent, succulent and very well prepared. And all of this accompanied with exquisite pitas baked on site. I wouldn’t mind going there once again whenever I pop into London. All in all, a rich culture foodperience!
If you want to have a romantic dinner date with your partner, Levant is a restaurant that offers the atmosphere. It is an underground dining place with an authentic Middle Eastern vibe where it has sofas for comfort and belly dancing for entertainment.
The restaurant itself looks very sexy and classy having dimmed lights and candles to give a very romantic feel. Alongside, the cushioned lounges make it feel very comfy and relaxed. The colour red is reflected through candles and walls, with beautiful lanterns on the wall. The music played by the DJ is a plus to the ambience.
Mouth watering food with varieties of dishes from the choices of lamb and chicken made with exotic spices and delightfully dressed on golden plates gave a royalty feel. The dishes include rice and salad and with great range of starters served with hot pitta bread. Food was served hot and promptly and was taken care by great staff. It is a bit expensive than regular restaurants but worth the money with the entertainment and services provided.
Set in a beautiful Middle Eastern underground dining room with cushioned, private nooks bejewelling its corners, it beams Eastern welcome by candlelight. It feels….like a home far more exotic than my couch in Clapham and has perhaps a couple more belly dancers. Faced with this, a stiff vodka with mint and a generous menu, my troubles melted, feasting commenced.
First, cold mezze. Hommus both plain and with lamb plus raisins, baba ghannuge (smoky augbergine dip) and a fabulous courgette dip with lemon and garlic, Koossa bil tahine. All with exquisite pittas baked on site, balloon shaped, emitting steam when popped. The table groaned again with sautéed chicken livers in pomegranate molasses, Armenian sausages sautéed in tomato, amazing chicken wings with crispy, salty skins, falafel, spicy potatoes and a multitude of tasty filled parcels. A surprising highlight was a salad (yes, a salad) of baby gem, parsley, mint and radish in a sharp lemon dressing. ...

Last visit was Feb 13 (been 3 times)
I remember the first time i discovered this hidden gem tucked away secretly behind St. Christopher's places. Its a bit tricky to find at first, but as you walk down the stairs past the traditional decor and ornaments you enter through the doors a feel transported into another country. The lighting, sounds and smells really take you to Marrakech . Depending on the time of day you visit - in the evenings the lighting is Dim and you are entertainment with loud music and belly dancers. This places scores high with me on atmosphere and decor.
As for the seating, you can either sit at the large tables in group or of course a smaller more romantic seating. There are also nice comfy booths within a mini tent.
Now on to the food. The starters are definitely better than the mains, there is a wide range of classic arab dishes to chose from all presented nicey. I just recall to 2 separate occasions that the mains being slightly disappointing, mainly due to the quality and taste of the food, The Lamb Dish was a bit bland and the quality of the red meat was not great.
This place also is on Tastecard where i normally get 2 for 1 on food. Which makes it good value for me!
Food - 3.5
Atmosphere - 5
Service - 3.5
Value - 3.5
The venue itself was great looking, very spacious but down lots of stairs. Some chairs are quite low and not log of legroom under some tables. Delicious smells. Service was good. Our group had pre ordered so when we were ready food started coming out. Everything I ate was delicious and I tasted other dishes. All lovely. Cons - I found the food expensive, 12% service charge added and only 2 very small ladies cubicles. However I would go again to try some other dishes. Great entertainment with bellydancers who invited diners to dance with them. Had a great evening overall. I have posted a few pics of food selection but we had lots more.
The decor is beautiful! I think the menu is a bit limited and it seems a bit pricey, but nonetheless, the food was very tasty + filling. Very friendly staff. It's very nice to walk into, the back street would never allow you to assume something so beautiful is hidden inside. Literally like a cave of wonders!
Amazing restaurant with great decorations. The food has been spectacular, we have eaten many dishes of Arabic, Lebanese and Moroccan influences, with intense and very tasty textures and flavors. Very cheap prices for a medium high level of food. For me one of the best restaurants in London. Thanks for all Mr. Tony from Chefnaranja
A hidden gem in Central London which truly does transport you to the Middle East. The decor and ambience was beautiful. The service was brilliant and the food was delicious. I had the Lamb Shank which was perfectly cooked.
Probably the best lamb shoulder I’ve ever had and that’s what pulls this review up the ranks,,
The service is great , ambience is also great and generally starters were good despite being over priced...
This place looses a star for their insane pricing on soft drinks and virgin cocktails which were appalling if I’m honest, abit of flavoured syrup ice and some mint leaves for £7 and it would be acceptable If it tasted good and there was enough to have a few sips ...
Overall this place is good I would recommend visiting but i probably would go again for there muhamara lamb shoulder it’s says for 2 but can feed 3/4 easily
The best place in Wigmore street so authentic and beautifully decorated great belly dancing entertainment. Went here for Birthday dinner lovely all round
Incredible atmosphere, beautiful dancers and huge portions of excellently prepared food. The starters were more than enough food but the main was so tasty we couldn't resist. Not cheap but very reasonable for the experience.
We had nut and sesame allergies on our table which the staff took very seriously, clearly letting us know which meals were for who. A really impressive service and beautiful attention to detail. Will definitely visit again.
Great food and cocktails. Polite service and excellent decor. The price was around £60 per head per person for the evening.
What an amazing evening celebrated for my Birthday, Thankyou to the Levant Staff and chefs. Very impressed with the atmosphere, dancers and food especially. Would recommend this venue for anyone with a group of friends looking to enter a food coma. Delicious, my buttons were bursting!
Two Hours is definitely a good amount of time to eat and socialise.
Absolutely stunning place. Would recommend for anyone if you happen to get a table. The food is to die for and surprisingly good value. Take the set menu to experience their thinking. Very nice decor and we even had belly dancing program. Staff is super nice and helpful. Best restaurant we visited during one week in London.
