A big open, high ceilinged pub close to Great Portland Street underground station. A fine selection of keg beers on offer along with a couple of cask ales and Rosie's Pig for the cider drinkers. Lovely service and staff busy dishing up burgers for those on solids. A super pub in a busy location. A good stop!

The food was superb. Good value for London. The "Boss" burgers were amazing and included a drink as well in the Price. The manager, although incredibly busy, was attentive and helpful and worked with me to make sure our large party of 12 were able to place our orders and have the food arrive all together. The rest of the staff were equally helpful. There was a good selection of beers and lagers available. I would not hesitate to visit again. Thank you to the Albany team for assisting in creating a very enjoyable work event/meal. thanks Neal

Awesome spot to watch all the World Cup rugby action yesterday. Great service and all the good stuff on tap. We had the sausage roll as a snack and with hot mustard was awesome! Then later we shared the fish and chips, the mushy peas were awesome, great food, drinks and service, good times all around 🤙🏻

We booked the downstairs bar at The Albany for a joint birthday party and had an amazing time! The photos on the website are old and don't do the space justice - it's been recently refurbished and it’s really tasteful, cosy and great lighting. The staff who looked after us, Lucy and Valentine, were lovely, welcoming, and friendly. They couldn't have done more to make sure we had a great night. The manager was also lovely ! The food was also fantastic - We ordered a buffet and everything was delicious. A good selection of drinks choose from too. Overall, we highly recommend the downstairs bar at The Albany for any type of event. It's a great space, with great staff and great food.

Came here with my Mum for some lunch, we both had the duck salad and it was incredible! Flavourful and delicious. I use a wheelchair so it was good to see an easily accessible doorway and also an accessible toilet. Everywhere was clean and the atmosphere was very chilled and relaxed. The music was blaring out, I have some sensory issues so this made for a pleasant change. Staff were welcoming, polite and helpful. Great choice of food and drink. Highly recommend a visit here.

The closest pub to the hostel we are staying in and they actually have the Premier League on during opening weekend! So many other pubs had boxing and rugby. This also had a pretty rowdy atmosphere and vibe which was great for a Friday night when the usual subdued pub environment isn’t always desirable. Food is classic pub fare and the draft beer offerings were solid. The assistant manager, I forget his name, was super friendly and helpful, made the experience even better.

On the many times I have visited this venue over the 7 or 8 years since being forced to relocate with my work, I am now local to this pub and am so thrilled to have found a decent, friendly establishment with really helpful staff that go the extra mile to ensure that all of their customers enjoy the optimal experience of enjoying either a great lunch, dinner or evening experience. First class! A very ecclectic clientele which makes for an interesting time ☺️

The service is really friendly, especially Adrian, great guy! And we (me and my two daughters) really enjoyed the food. We watched f1 while eating. Decided to eat here for a second time; Nico, Alina and Liviu (don’t come at me if I wrote your name wrong) their service was really good.

🚇 Great Portland Street 🍺 £7.15 Asahi ❤️ An attractive corner pub with plenty to keep you entertained. . The Albany is located at the top end of Great Portland Street where Fitzrovia meets Marylebone. The nearest Tube is Great Portland Street which is just opposite the pub. . This attractive corner pub was built 1869 and then rebuilt in 1898. This Victorian boozer has recently been lovingly refurbished and reopened its doors in April this year. . This is a large pub which has the main bar at ground level, if you head downstairs there is a basement bar which hosts entertainment. The refurb has been very sympathetic to this pubs Victorian heritage. There are some beautiful features like the tile panelled servery and the beautifully restored columns. Overall the pub feels bright and airy and feels a nice place to spend time in. . The beer line up was impressive, there is an extensive craft, keg and cask selection to choose from. From time to time the pub hosts tap take overs, independent breweries from across the UK get to showcase their brews. After a bit of indecision, I decided on a pint of Asahi. I really enjoyed my pint, price point was to be expected as most pubs retail this beer at around seven quid. The food menu was full of British pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £16.50. . I arrived with my Son just before 9pm on a Friday evening back in June. There was an upbeat buzz about the place with a good mix of punters. Some were enjoying drinks, a few were trying out the food, both pub disciplines were well catered for. My Son and I sat around a poser table watching a bit of Glasto on one of the screens dotted around the bar. This pub has loads on to keep you entertained. There are midweek themed quizzes, live sports from Sky and BT, down in the basement bar are Comedy, Cabaret and Music nights put on throughout the month. . @thealbanyw1w was a pleasant visit, both my Son and I really enjoyed our time here. This pub is a bit of a Swiss army knife, there are so many things to do here aswell as just have a drink or something to eat. Overall, a very positive experience. 🍻 . ℹ️ Info correct 23.06.23
