Have you tried Konditor & Cook’s mince pies? Spiced right with an ever so flaky crust, they’re a perfect treat for seasonal snacking and Christmas celebrations. But are they best in Britian? That’s the claim (by some pretty reputable sources) but who really knows? Not me … and I’m not sure any endeavour to find out would be in the best interest of maintaining a healthy BMI. But! Man oh man are they delicious and I’d happy a happy festive feaster indeed if Konditor & Cook’s were the only mince pies I had the chance to eat this season.
What a cute little cafe! Tucked away in a lane off the main road opposite Waterloo station, Konditor and Cook serves delicious cakes and brownies! Their very famous curly whirly! Dropped in after a heavy lunch and packed up their 10 for £9 mini bites. All cakes other than the curly whirly were delicious too! Definitely worth a visit! Will look forward to going again... I stopped in on the way back from an exhausting library session, and I asked a friendly employee what she would choose if she were a customer, she told me she would choose the lemon chiffon cake. I brought it home, plunged my fork into it and I was in heaven. The icing, I believe is of a cream cheese base-- and the cake was moist and lemony, together with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it all came together very very nicely.
Great cakes, of course. Their curly wurly is legendary but their brownies are equally good. Decorations is their forte, and they can prepare bespoke cakes which are visually stunning as well as extremely good.
Easily the best cakes in London, and that's a hefty declaration, I know. I request a Curly Whirly cake every year for my birthday - its cream cheese vanilla bean frosting is perfection and the moist, dark chocolate sponge cake is divine. They also make mini versions now for those who don't have 8 people to share with! Hummingbird Bakery may win for novelty factor (they're the closest to American cupcakes I've come across in my 8 years of living in London) but Konditor & Cook is where I head to when I want a more decadent type of cake.
This cake place is on the money!
For me, cakes that are sweet and savoury in flavour are best complemented with a smooth and feathery texture to create a celestial, flavoursome experience, so where do you go? Wink wink!.

I got a Curly Whirly Cake for my birthday, and ordered a set of mixed brownies, both arrived in an excellent condition and kept well in the fridge for 4 days. The cake in particular was incredible, a must-try for chocolate cake lovers.

Really nice cafe/bakery. One of the only bakeries that makes simnel cake - traditional cake for Easter. Bought 2 on different occasions. It’s a bit pricey but the staff are nice and the coffee is quite good! Student discount as well. 😍
Gorgeous and tasty treats in a surprising location. We chose to pop by on a whim, and were delighted to find a wonderland of delectable and whimsical cakes. I only wish we could have convinced them to open a store in LA!
Best Chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting in the World. I can't find the words to describe the taste, so I will just say its more than fabulous. Such a shame to find the Stoney Street store is now permanently closed. We.need more stores than fewer. I ended up walking to Waterloo from Greenwich because this cake is just so good.

I walk past this amazing and delightful shop on the way to work every day. It's always a pleasure to see the change in display through the different seasons. Ok, I have to admit that I do pop in around twice a week for their wheat free pecan nut brownie. It is sooo good and it disappears so very quickly. A real treat, a delight. Go on, try it. I dare you. But don't write to me if you become addicted. 🤗
Whenever I have a craving for brownies I always stop by here, they have some of the best brownies I've had in London.
Now that the borough market location is closed, this is the nearest option for me. Thankfully the staff is amazing, friendly and they're stocked with the goodies you love and didn't know you couldn't live without.
Konditor made my time in London 100% better! I became a loyal costumer and fan since their hot chocolate is the best, I've ever had. And I also loved the Parmesan Shortbread and their other hearty baked goods. I can only recommend! :)

Bought two cakes from them this year and both went down really well with the birthday babes! Also had a salty muffin to treat myself since I was there and it was soooooo good, I've been thinking about it nearly every day for three weeks.
Saw pretty good reviews and decided to go by with my friend to grab a slice of chocolate cake for her birthday. The lady in the store was really friendly and helpful and when she found out it was my friend's birthday she gave her the slice for free! The chocolate cake is vegan but so delicious with the raspberry filling in the middle. Just a short stroll from Waterloo station, so do remember to stop by next time you're near!
Gorgeous, premium quality cakes. Not cheap but not run-of-the-mill. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Shop is easy to find. Did I mention how nice the cakes are??

Amazing cakes — taste is second to none and they are lusciously moist. But what really makes them five-star is the service. I needed a cake same day, personalised and delivered and Rose managed to sort it out for me with zero hassle and an amazing amount of charm. Will buy again!
