Love the ship, the coffee and most importantly the staff! Super chilled vibes in the ship with something fun and exciting always going on. Must try the cookies here!!

Good for: children, big kids
Less good for: greasy spoon food.
Wonderful cafe in the shape of a pirate ship. All profits go to charity.
Level access and fully accessible disabled toilets, although not much room to manoeuvre.
One unisex toilet.

Such a nice café, very original! You feel like you're about to arrive in Neverland.

I have so many great things to tell you about this extraordinary Café
Lets start with the food. The food at The ship of adventures café appears simple, but the flavors have remarkable depth. it is known best for its wide range of brunch dishes and the reputation is well deserved. My favourite treat there is one of their outstanding crepes, it is mouthwateing and simplybrialliant, with a huge range of fillings to choose from such as the soft choclatey Nutella (which is my presonal favourite) to Marmalade (which I have yet to try) for the extremely adventurous, . A host of other goodies, including brownies, cookies, and cake, line the shelves, offering something for the whole family. The shop is both clean and tidy and has an amazingly unique design with the feel of being in a ship, to help with the feel they have a real boat onthe ceiling which everyone loves. all the staff members there greeted my companions and me with smiles as warm as the food was served. I would thoroughly recommend The ship of adventures café to anyone and everyone. I know I'll certainly be returning soon.
thanks very much

We were surprised – very pleasantly – when we discovered Ship of Adventures on Kingsland High Street. We needed lunch and a place to relax and found good food and comfortable seats and friendly interior made up to look like a ship. My wife had the serrano ham, mozzarella & olive tapenade sandwich for £4.50. I had the baked camembert with garlic, rosemary & onion jam with salad for just £6. She had the exotic Red Berry Mango Black Tea and I the equally exotic Long Black Beard coffee. Ummm. We will go back soon to try other items on the menu and spend more time looking at the artwork prepared by kids involved with the associated after-school program for local children. The place is cozy, which is to say not large, so we were also surprised to hear that they had catered an affair for 100 guests over the prior weekend. Wow! These people know that they are doing. We will be back!

Wow I can't believe how good the coffee was. I had a flat white 'shark'. And the interior decoration is so unique. Best cafe in Hackney I've ever been too. If I could give six stars I would.

My law partner from California went to Compass Coffee with his finance. My partner reported that the coffee was excellent, worth repeat visits. His finance said that the spirit and vibe of the place -- set by the two excited and energetic owners -- made the time spent in the café worth every moment.
I spent nearly three weeks in London this past summer and visited the Ship of Adventures much of that time. The frequency of my visits was due to the spectacular coffee and homemade pastries, the excellent sandwiches and salads, and the good "vibes" the Ship sends out. I loved meeting some of the children tutored in the Ship by the Hackney Pirates, a group of young and highly-motivated tutors and helpers. I purchased nearly ALL of my "trip gifts" at the Ship, because the handmade African and other jewelry and accessories were well-priced and stunning. I personally sport one of the fanny packs and necklaces I meant to give someone else. I suppose I'll have to return to purchase other ones ... I look forward to returning during my next visit to London.

Compass Coffee is amazing! Andrew is really knowledgeable and knows what he's doing and Amelie is ingenious and in touch. Good coffee starts with good people. The environment is cozy and unique and the coffee and snacks are yummy. Just go! You'll see what I mean and then you'll keep going back for more!

I thought there must be some exaggeration when people told me that this place was modelled on the inside of a pirate ship, but the detail and atmosphere of it is incredible. The best cup of coffee and mac and cheese I've had in a long while, and trust me, I've had a lot of mac and cheese.

It's a pirate ship!!! I totally turn into a kid in this place, the whole of the inside is built like a ship. I don't drink coffee but the tea is amazing, loads of different types to choose from and 3 kinds of hot chocolate. So much of their produce is local, it's awesome to see a cafe really take responsibility for what they sell, it has also introduced me to lots of great local projects.
