A place to go to for reliably good Sunday roasts and great pizza. They have a chef who hand stretches the dough and use a proper pizza oven. They even use the pizza oven to crisp up the roasts. Reasonably priced drinks. Good atmosphere, real mix of people from families to game watchers. My only non-positive comment is the fish and chips is underwhelming, the portion of mushy peas was less than expected and the meal was very salty, salt sprinkled all over the fish which didn’t need it, as well as over the chips.
A lovely New Cross pub, on the posher western end of New Cross Road, this place has an interesting menu and good selection of drinks, but the fantastic staff make it great.
It’s also a place where you can discreetly watch sport but remain looking cool and attentive
one of the best pubs, so underrated. great vibes outside, massive beer garden! really nice pizza and INSANE sunday roast. Probably the best sunday roast around - the beef is unbelievable quality and gravy is amazing. 100/10
On a payday Friday night it was warm, friendly and welcoming. Not crazy busy but with a few tables for groups and loads of interesting draught options. I really liked the atmosphere and it felt like a real local pub from the past. Bonus points for having loads of bar staff, being dog friendly and vegan food options
I went to this pub for the first time a few weeks ago and I was impressed. The pub is across the road from new cross gate station so the location is excellent.
If you like beer gardens this pub has a massive beer garden at the back, with pods if you want an intimate atmosphere, good lighting and heaters.
The staff were friendly and the Guinness was ok 🙂
Nice and cozy pub & kitchen with great choices of beer, ciders and spirits. The staff was very friendly and the food was great. Not too pricey. Ideal if you’re on a date and find yourself in New Cross Gate or you attend Goldsmiths University.
Food consistently great, service attentive, fun and friendly and plenty of bolt holds for small and large groups especially in the garden 👌🏻
Cool place with a massive beer garden. Really good selection of food and pizza. Ingredients seem of quality as well. Went for a pit stop pint and shared a pizza and a portion of triple cooked fries. The only thing I didn’t like (despite it said on the menu) was the tomato sauce with the Salsiccia and Friarielli pizza as I think it’s a pizza that needs a white base (as per tradition).. Aside from that minor detail, we were looked after really well and the table service staff was always around in case we needed something. Food came out pretty quickly.. nice and quirky! Recommended!
Lovely place and an amazing pizza. Staff were so friendly and the place is spotless. Nice spot out the back in the sunshine for some afternoon drinks.
We were served by Josh, who was very nice and made us feel massively welcome. Roast beef was lean and tender. Decent portion of meat on there too, and cauliflower cheese on the side was great.
