The Swing

Visiting from Houston TX and today was my first day in London. The Swing helped contribute to an amazing first day! Myself and my two cousins wanted to try this place out because 2 out of 3 of us are vegetarian. We ordered ALOT and shared amongst the 3 of us. A list of plates we ordered: “Duck” Bao Buns, Corn Ribs, Macaroni Croquettes, Edamame, Spring Rolls, Cod Fillet Fish, Tuna Tacos and Cauliflower Wings. EVERYTHING WAS DIVINE!!!!! Many of the sauces had an asian flare to it which was delicious. We all tried to decide which was our favorites (mine the corn ribs) and my cousins both loved the macaroni croquettes. The lovely waitress, I think her name was Jamela, gorgeous & hospitable girl! The owner came by after our dinner and asked how we liked the food and was just amazing to us. If you are in London you MUST try this place out. I haven’t even touched on the ambiance! It is the cutest little eatery. The fact that there is so much to choose from stands out to me as a vegetarian/vegan when other restaurants sometimes offer such a limited menu. Thankyou guys for this experience!

The food was exceptional! My friend and I each ordered a tasting menu - one veggie, one vegan - and split everything :) Every course was savoury and delicious. The potatoes were by far superior! The only thing to note worth improving was the dessert course. The staff were also very kind and friendly at this family owned and operated business. Thanks for a great dinner!

Everything was delightful. The cauliflower wings were a highlight - THAT sauce. Oh and the sauce on the sweetcorn was heavenly. The macaroni cheese balls and patatas bravas were so so good. The small plates are the perfect size - we didn’t want the food to stop coming. We we stuffed but had to get the apple gyozas. Oh boy. Cocktails were fab, vibe was fab, staff were fab. I honestly don’t have a bad word to say. I’m not vegetarian or vegan and this is now my favourite place in West Hampstead.

Finally got to try this place as they have recently started to open over lunch time hours. Brunch menu offered before 3pm and dinner taster menu only after 3pm. Setting was nice although would recommend having some fans inside as it was way too hot on the day. We had the mock duck bao buns. These were alright. The sizes of the buns were bigger than the typical size you get elsewhere so good value overall. Also had the Chakula burger which was so delicious and i'd def go for that again if i go back. Great effort and great outcome. Also had The Batata bravas as a starter side dish which was also delicious and would def recommend it. The sauces embedded in them hit the spot! Lastly also had the margarita pizza thin base which was of a decent size but tasted pretty average. Nice to know pizzas are on the menu though. It was cut up in a way thats good to have when sharing with a group of people. For the drink we had the masala chai. This was okay. Quite strong and the spices were quite thick and hence were floating around in the drink rather than being disolved and brewed in to it. Overall good experience. Good value. The host was very friendly and attentive and made an effort to check in that everything was okay. Will be back to try the digestation menu.

Lovely little restaurant, with a very well thought out vege menu. The bar has plenty of cocktails and the place itself has a very relaxed vibe, which instantly make you feel comfortable. I had the corn ribs and the Mac and cheese, both were absolutely delicious. The service is was on point, definitely will visit again when I’m in the area next 💜
