Really nice and friendly staff, beautiful restaurant. But, they need to work together (Staff) and get the job done as a team. Really nice coffee, really food and quality products. I will highly suggest for Marketing and Advertising purposes that the they need to urgently change the holders of the takeaway cups. #WellDone Great Branding.

Nice italian food. Worth the price. We are in a hurry so didn't order dessert but i guess it will be very nice too. If tomato can be added to the salad, it will be better. The mushroom is well flavored and went well with the toast.
The rissotto and pasta are nicely done, also suiable forr vegetarian. The restaurant also has many vegetarian options.

The place inside was very lovely. Great service. I loved my starter but the chicken milanese had too much rosemary. The chicken was covered by rosemary and unfortunately I had to remove all the top/botton crispy part and ate the inside only.

We were going to a show nearby, and were lucky enough to get a table without having a reservation on a Saturday night (we were shown to their deli-area where we waited for around 25 minutes and then got a table).
We only had about 40 minutes from being seated until having to leave but that was no problem for the kind and efficient staff: we were served great food very quickly and our waiter was very attentive.
We would love to come back next time we're in London and when we have more time! Thank you for a great - and fast - experience!

I've been to many Carluccio's in London, they have all been pleasant and enjoyable - from having a relaxing coffee and cake from the counter to a nice glass of wine and tasty Italian meal.
Pop in and try for yourselves!

Always looking forward for the panna cotta, the staff really considerable, i think they need more staff,

I got the best service and the pasta is perfect! Thank you!!! Will always be happy to come back! I forgot to take the name of my server but she’s the lady with braided hair. Thank you!

The favourite Carluccio’s in London. Always great service with amazing food. Perfect for Christmas parties or reunions as they provide a wonderful Christmas menu with crackers and hats so highly recommend!

amazing food! full vegan menu (photo below is vegan!) and super fast service, lovely waiters and it was so clean in such an iconic location; highly recommend :)

Simple menu with delicious options. Feels like proper authentic Italian food at reasonable prices

Always good quality food here with the menu containing the usual standard dishes with special plus some seasonal changes for variety. Staff are friendly and professional, always ask about allergies and are ready to make helpful suggestions with the wine list. Some very good cocktails, esp the amaretto sour. Service is normally very prompt. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous.

Visited here last Saturday night. Very busy and we hadn't booked but they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. The food was very reasonably priced, tasted delicious and the staff were amazing - very polite and our server was very knowledgeable on the menu, she was lovely too which added to the experience. I only haven't given a 5 star not due to the restaurant itself but the ladies facilities which you had to tiptoe through, I'll say no more but the manager was apologetic for and aware of.
Food and service though brilliant.

Totally amazing. Restaurant was lovely, modern and clean with a brilliant atmosphere, our server Ondrej was a delight, funny and knew the menu really well. Took my girlfriend there for her birthday and they delighted us with a candle for her in her desert and a little happy birthday as well. Honestly couldn't ask for more. Thrilled.

This place has a lovely interior and nice authentic Italian food. The deli attached also has some good looking cakes. It's only downfall is they gave out of date menus to some people on my table. It has options which aren't available on the newer menus however they will still serve them. It's slightly unfair that not everyone gets the same choice of food. Other than that, I enjoyed myself.

Consistent and always a good place for some casual food and wine. Service is about par and the place has a nice bright and airy vibe.
Recommended for tourists on the move and looking for something nice but not expensive.
Peter Morrell meets the man who buys the wine for all the branches of this highly successful family of Italian eateries. As a Carluccio’s regular I’m a great fan of the food at their restaurants. The ingredients are all authentically Italian and the simplicity of the dishes allow the natural flavours of the food to shine.

On now and running until 1 October, Italian restaurant group Carluccio’s is sharing its passion for top quality but perhaps less celebrated Italian wines with its Wine Explorers special. The limited run offers customers the chance to try a bottle of an underappreciated but nonetheless extra delicious wine for only £10.

Carluccios has been around for 17 years, and recently launched a brand new menu along with a way to experience your feast in 360. Yes that’s right! If you head down to local Carluccio’s you can grab a pair of FREE 360 cardboard box googles. Go to a youtube link put your smartphone inside the box and get into the VR experience. Filmed on a sunny day in Sicily, you hear the waves hitting against the rocks and Antonio himself makes an appearance.

Carluccio's is a nice casual spot for a chilled dinner or lunch. Great service but the food is fairly standard, nothing amazing but also nothing to complain about. A really dependable option in an area with vastly varying quality.

I am a fan of Carluccio's. Unfortunately I managed to visit it only once towards the end of my time in London.

I had the Milanese di Pollo (Breaded Chicken). It was extremely good and I'd strongly recommend that.

Carluccio's - a must visit!! This place can easily become a regular visit.

We had actually visited the carluccios in Bishops Stortford but couldn't find that on zomato!! Zomato needs to cover bishops Stortford!!

Carluccio's is impressive from the moment in arrive. The restaurant is huge but still cozy and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There's so much on offer apart from the food and drinks - a range of fresh breads and desserts, jams and even cookbooks - all looked brilliant.

The restaurant is well designed, even the bathrooms are funky but very well spaced out.

The menu has a lot to offer. We decided to order for the main course directly. We order the potato gnocchi, served in a gorgonzola and spinach sauce. The other dish was Penne Giardiniera, giant penne pasta shells, served with courgette, chilli and spinach fried balls, Flavoured with lots of cheese and garlic. Both the dishes were great and would define go back here to eat them again. The penne pasta shells were much larger than what we ate normally used to eating. The courgette and spinach balls were slightly crispy which gave an added crunchiness to the dish. The potato gnocchi was soft and blended perfectly with the blue cheese sauce. The dishes were very filling and therefore we had no space for dessert.

However we did visit the carluccios at terminal 5 (Heathrow airport) - the service was pathetic, staff were very inattentive and arrogant. Took ten minutes to get the attention of the staff even though they were looking at us.

Enormous amount of food, for a good price.
One course is enough for two meals for me, and we even ordered a started, meaning a lot of leftovers.
The food was delicious, even though we waited quite a while for it to both (both the main course and the starters).
My favorite was the starter: the focaccia was amazing and I was so starving I ate the olives, which I previously hated. Carluccio's made me like olives, as well as peppers. (I'm craving that board of food right now)
The service was okay but not memorable, and the place was quite loud at the time.

I would definitely go back, but order less food.

Update: I went back and divided a carbonara dish. It was more than enough for two people, and we had a hard time finishing it!

Huge disappointment. Three of us went to Carluccio's a week ago and were so looking forward to it. I have watched him on t.v. many times and was anticipating a above average meal. What all three of us had was a complete waste of money. Yes, I know, the restaurant was virtually full of quite young people but my pasta with mushrooms was just that. Strips of pasta with a few mushrooms on top with no sauce whatsoever. I wasn't expecting the world but I was expecting a lovely meal. All three of agreed we would not try this restaurant again. Very, very sad indeed.

I eat here regularly because the service is always good. The food is always delicious. The shop is fantastic too.

Great food, great coffee!. The title says it all. It is very difficult to fault Carluccio's. The food is simple, but excellent and the coffee is as smooth as silk.

One of the things I really love about the Covent Garden Carluccio’s is the building. It’s much bigger than most branches and on two floors. There’s a wonderful staircase leading up to two large dining areas on the first floor, with high ceilings, huge windows, lovely frescoes on walls and a space that fills me with romantic ideas of what a glorious apartment one could make there, right in the heart of Covent Garden.

In the heart of London it does not get much better than Carluccio's for some great Mediterranean style dishes this is the place to be

This is Carluccios flagship restaurant and it is spread over two floors. The entrance and interior reminded me of a grand home. It has high ceilings, stone floors and a big spiral staircase. We were seated on the upper level, which looked like the private

E also found his bolognese to be simple and good, and both dishes were much better than the blah pastas we had another night at Carluccio’s, a popular and stylist restaurant chain recommended by Elaine Louie of the NYT in her book Savoir Fare London: Styl

I had been to Carluccios once previously. Although that was a couple of years ago, my recollection is that this restaurant did quite good pasta. On this occassion though, it was for an office Christmas lunch, so my expectations weren’t high.

I like this Covent Garden branch of Carluccios, the large restaurant spread over 2 floors with a good sized shop on the ground level serving lunch dishes and deli type food aswell as oils, breads, wines and other Italian goods. It's no Neal Street Restaur

Oh I had such high expectations from Carluccio's. But alas!We landed at the Garrick street branch last night after seeing long queues in Dishoom. We prepped ourselves for some great cheesy delights. The restaurant is quite big and for a Thursday evening was pretty crowded. We, however managed to grab a seat right in front of their entrance door. The restaurant has a nice décor and wasn't noisy at all despite the crowd. We ordered one portion each of verdure fritta and calamari fritti for starters. The portions were good and the squid tasted nice and fresh. For mains, we ordered one plate each of pasta alla puttanesca, spaghetti carbonara, gnocchi al gorgonzola and ravioli. While the quantity of each of the item was good the taste left much to be desired. Carbonara had no cheese whatsoever and was very dry. I felt like I was chewing plain spaghetti with some pieces of pork sprinkled on it. I have had Carbonara in Rome and I just love the dish. Unfortunately my experience at Carluccio's left a bitter taste. The same was true for ravioli and puttanesca. The only item which was good was the gnocchi. Perfectly done and rich in flavour. The service in Carluccio's is impeccable. The 1 star I have given is just for their warm and polite staff. Won't come back here again!

Brent Morris and I shared the Deluxe Antipasti to share for lunch. It was more than enough food for the two of us and delicious! We really enjoyed our lunch although the service wasn't as attentive as it could be. And do yourself a favour, end your meal with the Italian hot chocolate - not too sweet and deliciously chocolatey.

Lasagna Tradizionale

The beefy meaty saucy melting lasagna just made my night. Yummm is the word! Still nostalgic of that date with this flavorsome lasagna. The layers of egg pasta, tomato, beef & lamb in béchamel sauce was simply delicious & brilliant. We love lasagna just like Garfield does!

Service: Comparatively Slower.
Ambience: Family like restaurant setup.
Price: £10

If you find yourself hungry in Covent Garden and you're gluten free then Carluccio's is a good destination.
I picked up a mandarin chocolate cake for take away which was moist and extremely tasty.
Carluccio's also have a gluten free menu (which i have yet to try) however it gives you a number of options.
x

I've only been to one Carluccio's (this one) and so cannot comment on the other branches but my visit here was underwhelming to say the least.

The interior is stunning; beautiful stairs take you to additional seating upstairs, large windows take full advantage of the corner plot upon which it resides and let in a lovely amount of light. We were greeted at the door by a lovely young lady who saw we had quite a few bags and offered to store them in the cloakroom for us (very much appreciated) and proceeded to lead us upstairs to the additional seating area.

This is where things went a bit downhill. We were sat waiting for our waiter to give us the menus for longer than we would have liked and when our waiter did arrive he was very surly and didn't look very interesting in serving us at all. He took our drinks order and shortly after our mains (we both opted for the set menu - I got the Carbonara, my friend ordered the Chicken Milano). Our drinks came with our mains which I suppose isn't the worst thing in the world except that we had to wait over half an hour for them. When our dishes arrived my Carbonara was cold and my friend's Chicken Milano was very oily (I know it's a panfried dish but I mean REALLY oily). Our waiter did not apologise for how long our food took to come and practically slammed the plates on the tables. Neither of us ate much of our mains and although we had opted to have dessert we didn't order it as our appetites had diminished. We asked for the bill, paid and left. The waiter did not even say goodbye as he took our money.

I may have just had a bad experience here. I probably won't visit this branch again but I have not been put off of trying another. There is a good family vibe there and there is a shop with all of the food ingredients attached in case you would like to purchase them which is a nice touch.

I am not a stranger to Carluccio's, having visited it's Kings Cross outlet a couple of times before a journey. I came to the one in Covent Garden for a staff lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the starkly different interior of this particular Carluccio's, bright and spacious in comparison to the Kings Cross branch. Our table was booked on the upper floor of the restaurant up a charming stone spiral staircase. The upper floor has huge ceilings and white walls giving the room an airy appeal. We were seated at a very large table at the back in front of a ceiling high shelf of Carluccio's produce.

My party decided to order a large platter of antipasti to start, which included bruschetta, chicken liver pate, salami, stuffed peppers and bacon wrapped prawns. I was extremely impressed finding all elements delicious, particularly the pate, which was smooth and rich. For mains everyone chose a pasta dish. I picked the spinach and ricotta ravioli which arrived on a cute rectangular plate. My ravioli seemed to lack much flavour and I had to ask for extra parmesan but everyone else seemed to love their dishes. Perhaps in future I will try one of the meat dishes instead.

Carluccio's is a place I used to love, before I really learned about GOOD food. This place is just mediocre in all aspects.

Ambiance: The setting is fine, nice and simple. Clean decor, cozy atmosphere. Yet nothing special.

Service: Service here has always been good, friendly staff, no complaints.

Food: Very mediocre, nothing is terrible, but nothing makes me jump out of my seat either. I've ordered the ravioli many times, and the filling of ricotta and spinach is nice, which I'm hard to please on this front so it does say quite a bit. But still, it doesn't make my mouth water, or my stomach rumble. It is just okay...

Value: Now it is definitely not an expensive place to eat, it is on the cheaper side of restaurants. However, because the food is so underwhelming, I do think the value is not great.

Would I go back?: I did used to go back quite a bit, though now having tried amazing restaurants in London, at this price level, it's definitely not a place I will go back to. Nothing about it is horrendous, it is just so mediocre that you're better off trying somewhere else!

I've always heard great reviews about this place and to be honest I can't doubt them either. I've only had the chance of going for tea and cake, which was incredible itself. The chocolate cake was a lovely compliment to the tea and went down a treat. The hospitality of the waiters is also admirable as they make sure you are well catered for. I'd love to come here again for lunch some time.

I have had people rave to me about the awesomeness that is Carluccio's for years now, so I walked into the restaurant with pretty high expectations, which was probably my downfall.

Although the food is not bad and there is an extensive range on the menu, I just didn't quite get what the fuss was about. Perhaps I just was expecting too much, as it is a chain after all, and with the risk of sounding “chainist”, there are not many that really wow me.

The upside of chains is that when you walk in, regardless of where it is located, you will feel like you have been there before and you will know that you can find something decent on the menu. However, that also means there is no excitement. Although there are certain chains that I do frequent regularly, with Italian food, which is the speciality of hundreds (realistically actually thousands) of restaurants in London, why not try something a little more originally, where the chefs are given more leniency to be creative and really utilize their passion for food and wow your taste buds?

And I personally feel that Carluccio's is over-priced. For something quite standard I feel that the prices could be a fair share lower.

I see the appeal for Carluccio's from an outside perspective. I personally however, am more keen on independent restaurants.

A passionate lover of Italian food, I am . There goes the credit for Carluccio's as they have the proper menu, the guaranteed taste and it is the kind of place you would catch up with parents or acquaintances : I mean, everyone finds a star item in the menu, and hopefully gets a high quality dish.
Still, if I have the time and the guts to take the risk, I would take them to a trattoria ( the closest I can get to that in London) - not to sound too much of a Occupy Wall Street kiddo here, but chains give you the standard in the whole pack, the disadvantages taken granted with the "same paste" everywhere.

Since, I had had such a decent experience at the Carluccio's in Pinner. when my husband wanted to eat Italian, I had no hesitation in recommending the Carluccio's that was next door in Covent Garden.

The place was buzzing They occupy 3 floors, with washrooms in the basement, the store and one seating space on the ground floor and 2 seating spaces on the first floor. The place was full and we thought that was an indication of how good it was. Sadly, the crowds belied the quality.

The calamari fritti that I had loved at the Pinner location, was soggy and soaked in oil. The antipasto had only meat on the platter unlike what was suggested on the menu. We had to ask for some bread to be served with the cold meats. Our request for olive oil, never materialised.

We ordered the trip of pastas, including the heavily recommended ravioli. There was absolutely no hint of the sage in the dish and it felt like the rvioli had just been tossed in melted butter rather than butter browned with sage. When we brought this to the servers attention, he promised to get us a fresh plate properly made or to give us complimentary coffee, but we turned it down, since we knew we would not be able to finish the other two pastas that were quite good. The tortelloni with braised venison and the papardelle with mushroom, both of which had much more flavour to them and were much better tasting.

The servers were doing their best, but they were just too badly over worked. Too many tables and not enough staff. Plus the food had to be brought up to the first floor from the ground floor, turning it slightly cold in the meanwhile.

If I wanted to eat at Carluccio's, I would avoid this location and try one of the 35 other locations in London.

http://on.fb.me/Kims-Recipes-n-Reviews

Been here a few times with my partner. A great little location and a convenient place to stop off at amidst all the shopping.

Food is tasty and they usually have daily specials that I try once in a while. I enjoy their pasta dishes, but their steak dish is also tasty. Always enjoy a few glasses of the fresh lemonade with my meal. Has quite a zing to it.

If you have enough space after your meal, a coffee and a glance at the desert menu is recommended. Tiramisu always goes down well.

Reasonably priced Italian restaurant. Good wine options.
The restaurant also does set menus, which are also value for money. Although a chain but the place and the food is very authentic.
Service is reasonably good.
All things considered a nice place to have a quiet dinner. Although many comparable options.
