Overall nice Italian restaurant. Food was good. Eggplant was a bit undercooked in the Eggplant and parmesian starter. Everything else was fine, nothing more. Nice option in the middle of London, very decent and fair prices. I'll try the pizza next time :)

Great Italian Restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. It felt warm and welcoming and only a few steps from the Prince Edward Theatre, so ideal for a post show meal!

My boyfriend took me here for our 1 year anniversary and it was a beautiful experience. Our waiter was extremely competent and the food was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and I highly recommend this place for romantic dinner dates. The setting and music really did the trick!

This is a lovely little italian restaurant. It wont break the bank and the food is very good. Unfortunately it is a little in the cra.oed side. I could have literally played footsie with the couple in the table next to me.

Italienne style. We are seeking a quick dinner before Musical. We missed to book table not aware that so many people have same idea. Waiter in Melanie found possibility to help us. Never had idea that so many people could eat in small place. Nevertheless they were well organized and quick. Food was also nice. We had Lasagne al forno and Pizza Americana.
Also paving was quick. Conclusion beginning bit hurry afterwards relaxed. Thanks a lot.

I've eaten here 3 or 4 times now and it's always been excellent. I'd most definitely recommend their homemade cheesecake as a dessert especially if the flavour of the day is raspberry. Overall a great little Italian, reasonable prices and good quality food that won't leave you disappointed (at least of the menu items I've had so far!)

We changed upon this restaurant when looking for a meal before the fireworks. Food was very authentic Italian and very tasty. Reasonable prices for the centre of London. The only downside was the restaurant is very small and the tables are very close together. It didn't put us off though and we would visit again.

Great food, great portions! At 4.30pm the restaurant was empty, by 6.30 it was full. The menu is wide ranging Italian, something for everyone. We ordered the bruschetta as a starter, fresh, tasty and 2 big slices. The risotto and pasta like wise very was good and a large plateful. Ok not dainty fine dining, which it doesn't pretend to be, but good value hearty Italian.

Friends and I visited Melanie restaurant on a busy Friday evening, and despite not having a reservation we managed to get a table straight away. We order mozzarella in carrozza, avocado with shrimps, followed by 2 scampi and one calzone. The food is average not very memorable, we ate everything however it left us a little unimpressed. Staff however was friendly and attentive, service fast but not pushy. We will give another change when in Soho. Average prices for this part of London.

So happy to have found a table here for dinner on 30th December...😁. We entered with no expectations n I'm sure that I will be back here often.. tried most of it from soup, drinks, starters to pastas, pizza and desserts.. All of which was yummm.. 😍😍!!
You also get wide verity in dishes catering to allergies which is commendable... Tiramisu, tossed spaghetti pasta are must try... It's a small place but was so well decorated with Xmas tree n a small fort depicting Jesus birth... All in all it was treat on a cold winter day!

The pizza Sofia Loren was by far the best pizza I have ever had! We polished off the whole pizza within minutes😆 ❤️❤️ the service is quick and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant is cozy and is beautifully lit. And the place is always packed, so better reserve a table!

Visited Melanie for dinner with my boyfriend when looking for a restaurant in Soho. The Chef's specials presented at the door got our attention and we decided to give it a go. For main dish we had the salmon and spinach linguini & the shrimps and courgette linguini in wine sauce. The dishes arrived very quick. Poor in flavour, the shrimps were just heat up from frozen without getting any flavour. The dishes looked like pasta put together in a plate with ingredients added last minute. Poor for a italian restaurant and even more for being called Chef's specials. The house wine was ok. For dessert we had the cheesecake which is homemade but not the best, too sweet, not having the acid-sweet flavour. The pizzas looked good but can't score for that as I haven't tried them. Wouldn't recommend unfortunately.

Stay away. Rude owner. Cannot comment on the food.. A friend and I walked past this restaurant at about 10:30pm and thought the menu looked quite good and the prices were reasonable and they were also showing the World Cup live. I ordered some food and when my friend wanted to order the drinks, the waiter, who was in fact the owner, snatched the menu out of my friend's hands before we finished making our order. Even the other guests on surrounding tables were shocked. When the owner came back, I told him that we had not finished our order, and he said "that is why I come back now, to take your drinks order". Both my friend and I explained to him that it is not the way to serve customers by snatching a menu and not taking their full order. He definitely did not feel that his actions were inappropriate and made no attempt to apologise. After being thoroughly rude and dismissive I was staggered to find that he then notioned us to the door.

I have now read a number of reviews for Melanie Restaurant, and poor service does not come as a surprise.Unfortunately I cannot comment on the food, but with this level of service, I am surprised to find this restaurant still in business.

Decent Food For Area. Now we all know that Soho and Covent Garden can be very much hit or miss when it comes to good honestly priced food and acceptable service.

I was in a rush before the start of a show and stumbled across this place mainly due to the poor choice in the vicinity. Melanie came up as a bit of a pleasant surprise, apart from the weird name for an Italian restaurant and the cheesy , tacky decor it does provide good tasty food with good service without all of the pretence of the area.

If your in the area and looking for some honest wholesome food you could do a lot worse than Melanie's just as long as you can see past the chintz.

Well done Melanie!

This is the perfect stop for a pre- or post- airport snack. Just look for the big donut on the roof. I like the maple-glazed cake donut with a vanilla iced coffee. Rain or shine, there is usually a line. Unfortunately, they have no indoor area or seating and no restroom, so you’ll be standing outside.
