The best place in London..very good food
Good everything. Thanks
Tucked away in Little Venice, it’s the best Japanese in London .
Great local sushi place in beautiful Little Venice near the canals... Highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. Have been many times over the last 3 years of living in the area. It's a small place but the food is excellent. It does get full so reservations are recommended.
Rosen. Went when it first opened and the gentleman is the same guy from Street Hawker up the road. His service was excellent. Our food was fantastic and I'm a japanese snob. Sashimi delectable. Was a bit pricy however which will put it at the bottom of the list if you are on your way home and wanting an inexpensive but good quality quick meal...shame it wasn't a couple quid down a notch.
Maguro is a dimly lit sushi restaurant located on a small side street, with few tables quite close together, creating an exclusive hidden gem impression. It’s one of those places that make you feel as though you’ve suddenly gone on holiday, to LA maybe.
The menu boasts an impressive selection of interesting appetizers, regular sushi favourites, more exciting sushi and rice/noodle mains.
We had beef carpaccio with yuzu truffle dressing, sashimi salad (salmon, tuna and seabass), nasu dengaku (aubergine with miso paste), chicken gyoza and horenso goma-ae (poached spinach marinated with sweet ground sesame sauce). The carpaccio was pretty spectacular, and looked beautiful garnished with flowers. The sashimi salad was great, nasu dengaku very slightly tough (difficult to cut with chopsticks) but I really liked the miso paste. The gyoza were noted as being very hot (with respect to temperature rather than spice level), which in my books is no bad thing. The spinach was very nice where touched by sauce, otherwise a tad dry and boring.
For the sushi course, we had yellow tail and spring onion, spicy tuna, florida (tuna and salmon with avocado, and salmon and avocado). I’m a spicy tuna fan so was glad that Maguro’s didn’t disappoint, but on the whole the sushi didn’t warrant nearly as much excitement as the appetizers.
We pad £21 per head (including tip, with no alcohol). Service is fine but not spectacular. A good option if you’re in the area.
Maguro is a brilliant little sushi spot. The dragon roll is insanely good. the atmosphere is very soothing and the decor is minimalist and quite chic. The restaurant is tiny, but I have never had to wait for a table. The staff are friendly and efficient. For a relaxed dinner with a friend Maguro is great but I wouldn't recommend bringing a large crowd.
Maguro opened a few years ago and what a breath of fresh air! This delicate, quaint little restaurant has grace and charm. With the wooden panelling and ceramic/glazed plates it feels very Japanese. Unless it's a weekend it is a great place to go with somebody to have a long, quiet catchup. I with every area in london had a Maguro equivalent! The food is delicious and many of he meal deals are fantastic value. Highly recommend!
Really impressed.- We came here with friends for dinner as we are big fans of Japanese Food.
Everything was 5* from the smart high-end décor and dark wood Asian-style interior to the friendly and attentive service and of course the delicious super-fresh dishes - I'd highly recommend their amazing chicken yakitori skewers and the mixed tempura (so light and tasty).
Highly recommended - definitely coming back very soon. 10/10
Came here in the afternoon and wanted to take the seat by the window but was told the it’s reserved. When I left, I did not see anyone came. I have also reserved a table in advance and was hoping to get nicer seating. The staff service wasn’t to the service I expected. Drinks were slow and wasn’t as friendly as I would want. The set was average, some nice fresh seafood, but the sashimi set I found the maki roll wasn’t done nicely. Felt it a bit broken apart. Overall I think it’s nice restaurant but service and quality of the sushi could be improved.
Amazing quality food! Pricy but good
Absolutely delicious! I don’t eat a ton of sushi, but this was undoubtedly the best I’ve had in London, and has to be way up there on the overall list. Great spot too
It was a nice experience, most of the food was really good
One order we t terribly wrong “the spider sushi’
the rest was delicious 🤤
The lunch set is good value for money. Big portion and good quality authentic food.
Stellar sushi in a good location. A cozy atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff, with quick service and high quality sushi. The food is pricey, so be wary on a student budget and I recommend for special occasions.
Just bought my first takeaway sashimi from Maguro - whilst more expensive than somewhere like itsu so sooo much better and worth every penny - amazing...!
Beautiful restaurant with great food and welcoming staff!
Amazing experience, one of the best sushi places in town. Well kept secret!
Love to have picnic with Maguro lunch box. Nice composition, taste good. Salmon in the salmon&avo roll was so huge.
Always amazingly friendly and attentive. Quality and value for money one of a kind in this day and age. I never have to think what to order - Maguro bento box please. The grilled chicken thigh alone is a stand-alone dish of outstanding quality. If you are a light eater you can always ask for a doggie bag. Smile and pay. No pain.
Great neighbourhood restaurant. The staff are very nice. I also order takeaway often, and it's always very good.
Amazing sushi. Great variety. Each dish was unique.
Highly recommended.
